EgunMogaji: Some walls and fences in high brow neighborhoods in the US. I would rather spend billion to buy houses in Beverly hill than spend that amount on banana island. At least premium facilities will be available and most importantly security is guaranteed and more valued. Almost 80% of houses in "over hyped" banana are dormant. A ghost neighborhood. |

One question for is. What justification do you a price for a house in mataima and asokoro to cost N800m when there is no much commercial activity going on there compared to Lagos. Even houses in Washington DC or London doesn't cost that much Talkamu: Okay sir, we have comprehended. You feel unsafe in Nigeria. It is a shithole, you are not safe and life is worthless in Nigeria.
Kindly sir, I beseech of you, leave this matter. We have heard you. Some of us currently live in the west and still desire for personal reasons to live in the country you despise so much- with all the faults, and as it is. Kindly remember that indeed, whilst you have a voice and a right to your belief, many of us on this page are individuals who actually do live, or have a desire to reside in Nigeria. You are not doing anything wrong, but your message has been heard. No need for the overkill. Just let it be sir. May Dubai grow your investments, and America and even Bermuda. Enough of the castigation of Nigeria. You are singing hollow now. Please leave it.

Its obvious he is pained. The truth is always bitter. AngelicBeing: l am not castigating Nigeria, Nigeria is already in the public domain both local and international, you can go on different international media and read about Nigeria, l was responding to a land issue and I was engaging another poster and not you, if you are pained at my post, I have no apologies I am airing my views and opinions which I am entitled to and I can choose to air it as much as I can, from the trash you wrote up their l know my message has struck a nerve, whatever insult in yoruba you threw at me, they are reversed back in multiple fold to you.
l don't care if you live in the West or take Nigeria as your Eldorado, it is your choice and I don't give a flying fvck, I will not dignify you without another response, you can as well buzz off my mentions |

But you will still prefer to buy that of Beverly hill than that of banana island because of the true value EgunMogaji: Well, many, not all, million dollar homes are behind tall walls in Beverly Hills and other rich enclaves too. |

Is only in Nigeria, a billionaire would build prison in the name of wall. No wonder ASA said in her song jailer, "I'm in chain, you're in chains too. I'm a prisoner, you're a prisoner too." AngelicBeing: Linda ikeji bought a property their and I think different online and print media reported that it cost between 700 million to 1 billion Naira.
I am not beefing her but I will not have a second thought putting that kind of money in banana island, what l value and cherish most in life is security / safety, basic infrastructures like power , water and good road network, my ability to take a walk of 2 or 3 hours whether midnight or anytime of the day without the fear of been mobbed or robbed and if I find that kind of environment in Bahamas, Barbados, Antigua or Monaco, I am fine with it than buy a property in Asokoro close to the villa and be trailed by hungry and envious hoodlums kidnapped or robbed.
Security of lives is my first priority anywhere in the world, in Nigeria you need Opc, tall gates and walls like the Berlin Wall, armed police men, Angel Michael, Holy Ghost fire, Koranic verses, voodoo or juju, German Shepherd etc to secure your life and it cost money to provide all this and even at that, you can still get killed despite all your security apparatus surrounding you and the police might not be able to fish out the killers |

Moreover a neighborhood like banana island costing billion doesn't even look residential. There are just over hyped properties AngelicBeing: Lol, the kind millions and billions l hear of properties in lagos and Abuja is alarming, 15.3million dollars for a land in lagos nawao, what do I know, Dasuki and his gang of thieves can afford it but with that kind of money, I have a dozen countries to invest it than lagos |

Even banana is over valued, only Nicon town stands out from all the neighborhood in Nigeria, not even maitama or asokoro can beat the neighborhood in terms facilities. AngelicBeing: Hmmm, nawao, with 15.3million dollars, l will be on the next Emirates flight to Dubai, sit with local royal emaritis invest in real estate in Ras Alkimah and the city of Dubai, I will be drinking red wine, drink Arabic coffee and cruise around the 7Emirates of the UAE, enjoy first class infrastructures, sleep and my investment will multiply in quantum because of the stability of the country and their smart business sense that have transformed a desert to a first world nation than invest it in Eko city, l wish you happy sales |

The office of the president and the vice president is reserved for a citizen born in usa. https://www.USA.gov/election Nig4Greatness: ..... That's not true.,he can as well become the president cos one of his parents is a US citizen at birth. Take Texas senator Ted Cruz as a typical example.he was never born in the United states but ran for the presidency last time. A round of applause to our one and only toastercologist BlowJobs: it is even way easier than Nigeria. However, you know that persistent chase we do in Nigeria, always wanting the girls number by force, always wanting to "chat her up". Don't do it over here, you will be labeled a stalker.
one thing you need to understand is that young adults (ages 18-30 in this case) don't do calls, we text all day (my wife and I always texting each other. she only calls if i'm not replying or text me to tell me she'll call me). So, don't bring the naija mentality here and start calling everyone you have their number, we find it annoying.
Most people nowadays meet each other online (social media is awesome, people don't even know how to date anymore just meet online, hookup and move on. i did it in my "prime" days here ). Be open minded to meeting dates online and not expecting it to be perfect.
and lastly, we don't really "toast". we just talk about things that unify us like a movie, a game, work, social life etc. Don't be boring, always find an exciting thing to talk about like a book or an idea (talking about politics on a first date is a bad idea most of the time). I would also advise you find out what she likes (movie, food, the acrade, bowling) so take her to the movies or something and/or a restaurant after (don't woorry much about the cost people here split the bills but we naija men most times dey foot the bill why we get the "cookie" 99% of the time )
The general rule is just don't be "boring", dress nice and SMELL GOOD (very important) and use mouth wash/mint candy/ fresh breadth, you might get a kiss that night you don't wanna risk it for a mouth odor.
Additionally, don't bring up sex except you both are already talking about it. Be a gentleman. Let it be her choice. Some ladies just wanna have sex. If you're not that type, you decline the offer. If you want sex too, you accept. it is a win-win situation. The probability that you won't text each other anymore is 80% anyways.
Update: Every lady loves a guy that can make them laugh. Know how to make someone laugh without sounding ridiculously stupid. Also, learn how to give compliments, "nice shoe, lovely smile, you drew that? Omg it is awesome, you have an amazing voice, your eyes are gorgeous, your phone case is beautiful, where did you buy it".. Those things help with conversations. Before you know it, you both have spent 2hours talking and next thing she's asking you when you'd like to come over or if you live alone
Those are just my experiences. I am retired now. |

DisGuy: The world does not revolves around Nigerians! There are probably thousands in Silicon Valley, most tech start-ups are usually combined team of nationalities and not much emphasis is placed of where people come from as long as you know your stuff and bring something to the table (funds?)
Or some are classed as Americans so there unless Nigerian media search them out you'd rarely hear of them... Why then are we called the giant of Africa, China is doing it, India is doing, so Nigeria can't be an exception. |

Congrats bto. Which path did you follow marriage, family or job sevule: @blowjobs Congrats on you application I just received my letter from USCIS requesting me to appear for the green card interview(I have uploaded the letter). It took a year between the time I applied and the time I received my interview letter. However the actual time varies depending on the state you live in. My brother applied for a Green card and it took him about 10 months.
I always tell folks that you do NOT need a lawyer to apply for a green card. Just read the instructions carefully and ensure you send ALL the documents requested for. In fact add jara to the documents to strengthen your case. The great thing about America is the fact that the system works and you don't need to know or grease some official to get things done
My interview is next month and once it is done I will upload the transcript of the interview. |

A 3 hour drive feels like nothing and there are multiple 'Rest Areas' having parking spots, restrooms, vending machines and fellow drivers that stop to take a break.
There were 5 or 6 Rest Areas over the stretch of the road I did - I rested twice and bought gas twice. So I had enough opportunity to rest n stretch my body.
My friend in Cali does regular 12hour trips.

Truthfully, it doesn't snow crazily here but we hade it tough for the first 3 days in January - temperature hovered around 30*F.
