Certainly the government has been acquiring lands for development. I was responding on your comment on "kick out the villagers and knock down their old ugly buildings"
horsepower101:
I think you misunderstood my main point. I never said government should take the land by force. I said that government should purchase those private lands with a fair price and sell it to investors to develop it to modern standards. .
PoliticsRe: . by Dremca(m): 9:40pm On Sep 29, 2018
Those highbrow building must be student hostels. Nothing develops a place more faster than a higher institution.
Xander85:
Impressive stuff!

Is this really Oko or a highbrow area in Ikoyi? shocked
PoliticsRe: . by Dremca(m):
Doing that in Anambra will bring an end to APGA leadership in Anambra state. The best option is what the government is doing currently by designating some areas in Awka for planned residential estate just like the Ngozika phase 2 (and other upcoming estates around there) and other planned estates in Isiagu known as new Awka. It wont be easy relocating the indigeneous residents just as similar thing happened in Calabar during the time of Donal Duke, he simply developed Calabar municipal leaving the indegenous residents in Calabar south.
horsepower101:
On the bolded, this is my response to another poster that raised the same point on the anambra thread.

"Nnewi, just like awka was never intended to be a city in the first place. It’s a village that rapidly urbanized.

The advantage awka has over Nnewi is that it is the state capital.

But if you study awka through google maps, you will see that it still has pockets of disorganized settlements and brown roof buildings.

In China, where there are no land rights, the communists just kick out the villagers and knock down their old ugly buildings. Then sell the land to private developers but in Nigeria private or community ownership of land is recognized it’s becoming a very big obstacle to proper urban planning. The only solution is for state government to create a mechanism for purchasing private lands in urban areas and selling the land to investors for development."

Just as I read how apple are to pay its employee in California a meal break and in Nigeria many private companies still owes their workers and those that even pay, even pay half and he s comparing Nigeria to US that has law protecting employee's right.https://www.employmentattorneyla.com/blog/2017/06/apple-loses-california-class-action-lawsuit-must-pay-employees-2-million-for-denying-meal-breaks.shtml
lillaowow:
Things are so bad in Naija that people don't even know what normal process looks like anymore.

No one in Yankee will collect money from you (or pay you half) to sponsor your H1b. If you hear anyone doing it, there isn't a formal agreement and they are at a big risk of loosing everything

We have labor laws here. You as the employee can report them if you get mistreated. No one will risk lawsuits to save little dollars.

Please be careful of this so called agent. Yankee no be like naija
tizzdi:
pls note am not supporting anything am just stating the facts..like when push comes to shove, its also an option to be considered..you still don’t understand..lets say i and an individual have an agreement for me to get him a job that actually sponsors HB1 and part of the agreement is that i get 40percent of his salary as long as he works there..am not the one hiring him, thing is i just know the right places to get him a job tht actually sponsors d visa class

Is a pity that at age of 81 when Bill Cosby should be in his retirement home, he will be now in prison. One lesson I learnt from his sentence is to take care of your today in order to enjoy your tomorrow.

How come trump hasn't been convicted for hush money payment that he was indicted of by his ex attorney.

I came across Ycombinator's startup school online course and I want to seek opinion of those that had enrolled for it to know what the experience was and if there's a more preferred choice.

lol..not the company but like an agency “looks” for the job for u..i dont knw if u get?
TravelRe: Naija to Yankee Thoughts And Experiences by Dremca(m): 2:55pm On Sep 25, 2018
The person that told you that fallacy must be a fantastically corrupt Nigeria. No one US company will hire you just to get a cut of your salary rather you get hired based on your skill and the value you will add to the company.
tizzdi:
i have actually heard of situations where like a recruitment company gets u a job where they sponsor international graduates for hb1 but there’s a catch to it..like 40% of your income is theirs as long as u working for the company they got for you..so let say u earn 20k per yr..then they are entitled to 40% of it..dont knw how true this is tho

That guy must have certainly mastered the game of seduction. Maybe, he wears lovely cologne, knows how to talk to a lady to make her heart melt and all that. He must be a master at the game of seduction.
lionlee216:
I have seen soo many hot single ladies/baby momma and will be cursing in my mind saying "mehn this girl is fucking hot" especially the lady at my former workplace. Shes bleeping beautiful with no boyfriend and i enjoy a good relationship with her.

I have a colleague(american) saying he can never marry. He is a man with ten biitches. He showed me pictures of them. Mehn, they fucking hot and beaitiful and this my colleague no fine at all. No car nothing yet they dieing over him. I used to wonder why this guy n this guy no even send them. These are ladies you will just wish to get a hug or kiss from them. When african guys approach them, they start forming "boss" which has made a friend of mine to be single so long. He's looking for a model to marry

What! The cost of buying data to watch that 20mins video is equivalent to some people monthly salary in Nigeria.
Babyvet:
.

It’s about 20 minutes but the video it’s not the actual show just someone reviewing the show .
TravelRe: American, US Based, And US Aspirant Derailer Thread by Dremca(m): 1:09pm On Sep 24, 2018
please before I continue watching the video, Please tell me how many minutes is the video. Data is a luxury here in Nigeria unlike in US.
Babyvet:
The show is funny but I believe it’s a scripted show. She is too damn picky and based on her occupation and current responsibility she can not even afford to sponser him .I do believe that things like this definitely happen in real life. I hope people watch this back home.

What if the person report the card to be stolen and hotlist it and get a new card from his/her bank or will the payment be tied to SSN.

So even upper iweka road in Onitsha is tiny?
Ttipsy:
lol Anambra is filled with tiny roads, kiss the truth. Imo state Owerri esp has series of wider roads. don't compare am not here for that
PoliticsRe: . by Dremca(m): 7:30pm On Sep 23, 2018
This road is wider because is a GRA that's already planned by government.
Chri08102702694:
That is a street inside Obosi residential area and not a major road.

This is a road in Awka, in the whole of your Imo state there's no road as big as this. #FACT
PoliticsRe: . by Dremca(m): 7:27pm On Sep 23, 2018
Especially in Awka. Ziks avenue as one of the major roads in Awka is so tiny but people are really building more beautiful houses when compared to Onitsha though with wider roads.
Ttipsy:
what is it with Anambra and tiny roads. the state n tiny roads are 5&6 amidst those cute buildings

Lol. I always like your sense of humour with memes. The worst part of it is that, inflation keeps going up and currently Nigeria's inflation is at 11.2% and the naira keep loosing value day by day. That's part of the reason there is high rate of crime. Less income chasing more demand.
AngelicBeing:
Chai, 37,000 naira = 100 dollars, huh shocked, from that peanut slave wage, the staff will transport himself / herself to work, feed, Pay rent and other miscellaneous expenses incurred during the month, Hian, and one fat pot bellied politician in Abuja is going home with more than 50 million naira monthly making useless laws that has kept the country as a cesspit of poverty and darkness sad
