You don't get it do you? The whole system is messed up.
Buhari or GEJ, It matters the fu©k not. It changes nothing.
It is up to every Nigerian to save themself. If you believe in a change of Government,
Then, you, by far, are the most naive person I have seen.
History has shown time and time again that governments are the worst. From waging wars to determining the school your unborn child will go to.
Democracy my a$$. Hope for change?
Hope is delusional and unrealistic.

saintandsinnerz: I guess you are still a young boy to believe that PDP will lose election. Look I'm no supporter of GEJ or Buhari, but don't be deceived, PDP is going to win the election either by hook or crook. It's nearly impossible to defeat a sitting president in Nigeria for obvious reason. Don't be deceived by the noises in the social media about APC winning the election, it will not happen. You guys are here making noise why PDP has finalized plans on how to continue in power. Ok oldie.. I'm not ignorant of the percuilarity of the country and how it operates. But saying because things have always been bad we shouldn't attempt to fix it shows just how supposedly mature you are.. We are "resilient" and "optimistic" but also realists and one thing we do know is ultimately power belongs to the people. No matter what the outcome of the feb. 14th election is, right now we'll do all it takes.. We'll make the noise and take definitive action towards voting cluelessness out. |

Unnecessary power tussle and avoidable deaths.. The made people are the ones that make the news though.. The prospective scientists, researchers, engineers, leaders that have died in one way or the other due to the strike never do. The bright side though is the odds are really against GEJ.. JOHESU has been on strike for a while, the judiciary just started theirs, MEND backs buhari, Ndi-igbo is split and yet to make a decision, massive turn out during the APC campaign in the south south.. People will definitely be showing their grievances february 14 and hopefully a change of government might just be what we need to revive the health sector. |

00kris88: Hello everyone. I'm from Unijos Pharm. School. Should I say 300 or 400L now? I don't know.
Well, for my challenges in Pharm school, it hasn't really been reading and passing exams/tests whatever. That's not to say its been easy though. Failing PCG201 made me feel very bad, but knowing it was due to my negligence and carelessness made it a bit bearable. I mean, after the exams, I knew I didn't deserve to pass. Apart from that, passing exams hasn't really been an issue. So, my major challenge is that after 3 years, I've still not been able to myself playing the role of a pharmacist. Thinking of myself as one does not excite me as much as thinking of myself as a sports administrator or a farmer. In fact, in comparison, there's no excitement. I've also thought of being a lecturer but I'm not a very patient person with people who keep 'refusing to understand' My decision to work harder in recent past was only inspired by seeing people who I felt I was better than academically finishing 200L with better CGPA, not that i discovered myself. So in summary, my biggest challenge is 'MY ROLE AS A PHARMACIST' / 'WHAT WILL I DO WITH PHARMACY'
For my favorite courses, PCL and PTE I also like lab. especially dispensing and PMB. I hope I didn't bore you guys. ... |

Even in community pharmacy practise there are lot of things u can tell about a drug by merely looking at its structure such as its instability profile and proper storage. You could find yourself in nafdac analysing drugs and a sound knowledge of your pharmaceutical chemistry will suffice. There are universities in india that deal purely with phytopharmaceuticals to show you how relevant your pharmacognosy is. You can't just be a "pharmaceutics pharmacist" or a "clinical pharmacist". You have to be an all rounder. |

And other pharmacists + pharm students Alabukun contains aspirin and caffeine and panadol extra acetaminophen(paracetamol) and caffeine.. Caffeine is a stimulant and his daily intake should amount to over a 100mg so he might already be dependent on it and getting him off it won't come easy.. You should ask him what he's taking the meds for as he might need this meds for chronic conditions like arthritis. Eitherway taking the two meds might not be necessary but then u also won't be able to evaluate if either will be effective. Chronic use of NSAIDs such as aspirin can cause ulcer so you should present him with the facts but not without asking the necessary questions first.. |

drered: *Modified* i) Yeah. B.pharm is the minimum qualification needed to practise pharmacy in Nigeria. ii) Pharm. D and M.pharm is the minimum qualification in some other countries notably the united states and united kingdom respectively. They can practise in Nigeria after undergoing a course that usually lasts anywhere from 3months where they are taught the percuilarites of pharmacy practise, including its laws in Nigeria (the host country) and meeting other requirements such as tendering their license to practise in the country from which they obtained their certification and paying the required fee iii) Not that I know of. That should depend totally on the employer.. A graduate with a pharm D for example might be more relevant in the hospital and have a upper hand it is in no way a threat to the B. Pharm tho.. iv) Depends on the host country, for US you'll have to undergo an extra 2year course to get a Pharm.D or do a conversion course to work with your B.pharm which lasts anything from a year.. v) You'll have to go thru my previous post.. Its there somewhere.. But then if I remember properly you'd do pre-pharmacy for 2 years or 4 depending on if you want to have a B.sc in any of your core courses in addition to the Pharm. D you'll go on later to have and then Pharmacy school proper which I think is 4 years. In Nigeria it will be 6 years when implemented, the extra year focused on the clinical aspect of pharmacy. UNIBEN currently awards both B.Pharm nd Pharm. D and the length of her programme is 6 years. |

pharmguru: you dont know much about pharmacists....do you? see, pharmacists are not stuck to the hospital like you guys. they can always find a place outside the hospital. the doctors know that and so, in the actual sense, they are the ones feeling threatened by the pharmacists. and because of their fears of losing most of their work to the pharmacists, they are fighting seriously to inhibit any form of growth in pharmacy education. Little wonder they were alarmed when the issue of PHARM.D came up. they knew that with any slight increase in the parmacists' clinical knowledge, they will be faced with stiff competition. so dear, its the doctors that are feeling threatened by the pharmacists. and you know what?...i think the doctors "FEAR" secretly that shud the FG meet the demands of JOHESU, they will lose some of their respects and meet with stiff competition. that kinda explain the reason for their strike action. but dont worry sha....it will remain "our little secret".....hahaha Mistake? |

Same with the made up story where a consultant nurse in UCH ordered that the dressing a consultant plastic surgeon made to be open up? Mere conjectures until proven otherwise. A nurse or a pharmacist should and would never change the prescription of a M.D.. What's the problem really? That your ego will be bruised when your competency is put into question by errors on your part? That your exclusivity to a patient will be encroached upon? M.D's need to start seeing patient care as a collective team effort so as to improve therapeutic outcome and reduce the rate of morbidity and avoidable deaths.. |

kcdegr8: My biggest disappointment in this brouhaha lies with the pharmacists. It's soo unfortunate that they have to stoop so low all in the name of fraternity, just to fight doctors. Such an absurdity!
After going through the communiqué issued recently by graduate nurses following their withdrawal from johesu, i was deeply impressed. No doubt the nurses have some demands on the table but the manner they have adopted is really matured. They know fighting for their rights as a solitary body is more feasible (unlike pharmacists asking FG to make cleaners consultants lol).
Pharmacists are people of great learning, arguably second only to the doctors in the hospital setup. It's high time they take their rightful place, pull out from the charlatans and let their voices be heard. The pharmacists greatest dissapointment lies with the M.D's as they are threatened for no reason and basically ego driven.. Can you give a credible link to the supposed comminuque issued by grad. nurses? Because I clicked on the same link and nothing popped out + nurses are still on strike.. Where was it ever stated that cleaners are clamouring to be consultants? If that's your attempt at being comical then its a fail.. You got one thing right tho.. pharmacists are second to the M.D's ONLY in the hospital setting and I could understand from there why M.D's are so defensive but then the bigger picture is what matters.. The only reasons pharmacists made that alliance was that was the only logical way to make their actions effective.. |

titanhayes: I overheard two matrons in UCH raining courses on whoever is against the progress of their profession. No be small thing o! I know JOHESU will kill herself soon. If the govt approves what they clamour for; then its not worth being a doctor...they want equal pay with doctors! They ve got guts! And the Juniors on JOHESU know this clamour will only favour the nurses, pharms etc.Once they achieve that, they ll dump Johesu. Then another group will surface again fighting for equality instead of equity. If the government implements the demands of JOHESU it isn't worth being a doctor? It shows the kind of person you are as it is very clear that you are ego driven.. Why should someone's effort in trying to better his field make you so bitter when initially it was the doctors and dentists that broke out and held the government by its balls to meet certain demands that favoured them while ignoring other members of the health care team? -+You need to get your facts right as relativity will always be maintained and that isn't one of the issue being raised by JOHESU |
