Crime › Three Nigerians Held For Peddling Drugs In India by dridowu(op): 12:02pm On Sep 13, 2015
CHANDIGARH: Three Nigerian nationals
were arrested for drug peddling in
Chandigarh on Saturday. The arrests
were made following a disclosure by
Harjit Singh, aka Lucky of Sector 45, a
drug addict and peddler who was
recently arrested.
Two of the three Nigerians had been
living in India without valid visa and
permission while a third was about to
complete his period of stay in the
country. Lucky was arrested on
September 6.
Police recovered about 120gm of heroin
worth around Rs 10 lakh in the
international market from the
possession of the Nigerian nationals,
who have been identified as Dennis
Azuka Okoye, Ekpelechukwu Johan and
Jackson Uzova.
Police said they were supplying heroin
in Chandigarh, Punjab and parts of
Haryana. They said the main points of
supply were discotheques and late
night clubs. The peddlers preferred to
visit Chandigarh during weekends.
Crime branch Inspector Gurmukh Singh
said, "During interrogation, Lucky
revealed the name of one Nigerian
based in Delhi through whom he used
to get heroin. Investigations were
conducted and a larger racket was
unearthed. Okoye was the foreign
national who used to supply heroin to
Lucky."
Sources said Johan, only one of the
accused to be living in India valid
documents, is also facing a trial for
drug peddling in Delhi. DSP (crime)
Jagbir Singh said at this stage, police
are focusing on suppliers and peddlers,
including some from the city. He said a
detail record of consumers and
customers is also being prepared for
further action.
The three accused were arrested from
different places. Okoye was arrested
near phase-2, Industrial Area and
about 50gm heroin was recovered
from his possession. Johan was
arrested from near ISBT-17 and about
35gm heroin was recovered from him.
Jackson was arrested from near 66KV
station and 35gm heroin was
recovered from his possession.
Joint interrogation of the three
Nigerian nationals revealed that they
entered India on tourist and business
visas but did not register with the
foreign registration office (FRO).
The development has raised serious
concerns about drug trade in the
Tricity, where incidents of drug abuse
among school and college students are
being reported constantly.

Celebrities › Oprah Winfrey Donates $100,000 To Nigerian Foundation For Girls by dridowu(op):
Oprah Winfrey is joining her Selma and The
Butler co-star David Oyelowo to make an
equally meaningful impact in the world
off-screen as they did onscreen.
Winfrey will donate $100,0000 in
Oyelowo’s honor to the GEANCO
Foundation which specializes in
providing vital healthcare and
education needs to girls in Nigeria.
Oyelowo and Oscar-nominated Chiwetel
Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave ), are both involved
with the foundation and coincidentally
both British actors of Nigerian descent
who have been friends since they were
teenagers.
Oyelowo told THR his concern in helping
improve the sexism, health and
education standards in Nigeria has
partly been fueled from watching the
lives touched by Oprah, an influential
woman whom he now calls a mother
figure. While filming Disney’s upcoming
Queen of Katwe with Lupita Nyong'o this
year, Oyelowo visited the Oprah
Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls
in South Africa and has frequently
discussed with her the importance of
taking a hands-on approach in
supporting marginalized women.
“I can’t afford to have been around
her as much as I have and not take
her example because it’s just an
incredible example of what is possible
when you look beyond yourself,” said
Oyelowo of Winfrey.
The money from the Oprah Winfrey
Foundation will transform two schools
in Nigeria, sponsored by Ejiofor and
Oyelowo, providing children with the
proper learning supplies (computers,
books, notebooks) and medicine. A
portion of the funds will also be
distributed to organizations directly
working with the recovery of the
rescued girls (who often come back
traumatized and pregnant) from
extremist group Boko Haram in Nigeria.
“I, of course, like a lot of people, was
disturbed by the kidnapping of the
girls in Chibok and the fact that this
awful situation was very much around
the idea of wanting girls in particular
to not be educated,” said Oyelowo. “I
think that’s basically an attempt at
not just ruining those girl’s future but
Nigeria’s future.”
The violent acts of Boko Haram
sparked a national interest including
the social media movement #
BringBackOurGirls. The issue of sexism
and marginalization of the vulnerable
captured Oyelowo’s attention to want
to make a difference in Nigeria where
he lived for seven years.
“It’s a big subject for me this,” added
Oyelowo. “Even in film for female
directors and the way females are
represented on film behind the
camera. That kind of sexism is as bad
as racism, but the thing about sexism
is you’re talking about 50 percent of
the population who are being
marginalized in this way. It’s a hot
button subject for me - the
marginalization of women generally,
but young girls specifically because
they are still vulnerable.”

Crime › Nigerian Arrested At KIA For Swallowing Cocaine (photo) by dridowu(op): 11:31am On Sep 12, 2015
Officials of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) operating at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) Thursday arrested a physically challenged man who was believed to have swallowed pellets of cocaine.

The suspect, Okeke Ambrose Ifedilichukwu, a 55-year-old Nigerian, arrived at the KIA aboard an Emirates aircraft en route to Dubai when he was arrested.

According to the Deputy Executive Secretary of NACOB, Nii Lante Blankson, the suspect left Abidjan for Accra where he was on transit.

Flight lands in Accra

He said while Okeke was on the flight, the airline officials realised that he was behaving abnormally and so as soon as the plane landed in Accra, he was referred to the Aviation Clinic at the airport for observation.

He said at that stage, officials of NACOB were informed about the situation and so they quickly went to the Aviation Clinic to interrogate the suspect, who admitted that he had swallowed pellets of cocaine.

The suspect explained that he had swallowed the pellets in Abidjan and was supposed to deliver them to somebody in Dubai.

After his confession, NACOB officials then took him to the Akai House Clinic in Accra for further observation.

Examination

An X-ray taken at the Akai House Clinic confirmed that the suspect had a number of pellets of cocaine in his stomach.

The clinic advised that he be medically observed while he expelled the pellets from his stomach.

The suspect was taken back to the Aviation Clinic for further observation and for him to expel the pellets.

Mr Blankson said, however, that while Okeke went back to the Aviation Clinic, his condition became critical and so he was quickly transferred to the 37 Military Hospital for further treatment.

As of the time of going to press, the suspect was being operated on to remove the pellets from his stomach to save his life.

Why are you convulsing herehuh...It's very simple, Buhari promised to make his assets public... so what is there in holding him to his word?...Don't you think you're the sick one here?
Confuse ? Not me but you how do you expect him to declare ? May be you want Buhari to come on national tv and start declaring it out. Or you want Buhari to declare more than #30m . Have you forgooten that Garba Sheu has declared it on behalf of Buhari ?
If you/pdp are not satisfy with Buhari asset declaration then wait till CCB makes it public once more just like Garba Sheu did.
Lest i forget, tell Fayose that he should name where those Buhari asset his hidden.
Politics › Re: Buhari Is Not A Saint - Fayose by dridowu:
Buhari is not a saint but compare to the entire PDP members and supporters, Buhari is more than a saint.
Pre-election Fayose was doing the talking .
Post-election Fayose continue.
All Buhari did was to make use of Proverbs 26:4 to answer Fayose.
If Fayose thinks Buhari make illegal appointment, what stops Fayose from making use of the law to correct the illegal appointment by Buhari.
They accuse Buhari of mini estate of #3b yet they fails to disclose the location just like the erstwhile DSS spokeswoman that accuse APC yet fails to reasonably provide evidence of her accusation.
They claim Buhari appoint his-inlaw yet fails to who Buhari marries in her family or who she marries in Buhari family.
If you want to accuse , do your accusation logically by providing the full evidence not semi baked evidence.
Anyway , thanks to Buhari for correcting the errors of PDP.
God Bless Nigeria

Hypocrite set of people, when Buhari declare it with CCB , they call for his head, Buhari made it public, they claim it was more than that as if they were their when Buhari was acquiring it. They have forgotten that an Ex Presi "did not give a damn" about asset declaration. Any elected officials that has no skeleton in his/her cupboard would declare it without fear.

Phones › Android Porn App Takes Secret Photos Of Users by dridowu(op): 1:54pm On Sep 08, 2015
Security experts have warned about a porn app which secretly takes photos of the person using it.

Analysts at Zscaler say that the Adult Player software available for Android is malicious.

It says some users have had photos taken of them without permission, before their phones were locked by the people behind the software.

The photographs of the users are then incorporated into a digital ransom note asking for $500 (£330) to be paid via PayPal.

In return, the attackers promise to unlock the phones and delete the illicit photo.

But even users who have paid the ransom sum say their phones have been left unusable.

But Zscaler says there is a way to get rid of the malicious software without paying a penny.

The phone must be booted up in safe mode, where - once in device administrator mode - the app can be selected and disabled.

Apps which demand cash with a threat to release private information, or brick a device, are known as ransomware.

Adult Player cannot be installed from Google Play, but can be installed directly from a website.

Zscaler said people should only install apps from the official store, and urged people to back up their data so if they are hit by ransomware attackers they can wipe their device and reload their data.

Police recovered 1,400 grams of marijuana, 100 grams of cocaine, 96 grams of charas and 200 grams of MDMA (a psychoactive drug), totally worth Rs 35 lakh, from them.

Mico Layout police arrested Okonko Basil Dubisi, 28, based on a tipoff. His arrest led police to Vaishak KR, 26; Amhed Luhal,24; and Sajeer NC, 22, - all from Kerala - who would collect the drugs from him and sell them to college students, police said.

Okonko, who came to India on a student visa, dropped out of college allegedly to sustain his drug habits. He came to Bengaluru about three months ago and rented a room in TC Palya near Whitefield.
