Modups!:
if they wanted to kill her off y not car crash or to say she was shot?
its the beheading thing that gets me angry
Beheading Sarah is quite an interesting twist to the plot. Makes Prof. Scofield more motivated to go after the "company"

peeps, i really don't know if im in support of them scrapping the nysc programme because im about to get my call-up letter(my prayer is that im not posted to a remote location)at least those posted to Lagos and Abuja are humans just like me. anyway, i intend to catch my fun(God willing) wherever i am. i'ld definitely keep you posted after the three weeks.
Damn right you catch your fun. Camp is about one of the most trying periods i've had in life i think. Ask anyone that survived the camp in Lagos. It was bitter-sweet believe me.

In retrospect, i actually miss the damn three weeks in camp. I discovered things i didnt know i was capable of doing or enduring grin grin grin

i don't agree that this scheme should be scrapped simply because there is sos much to be gained frm it, we should learn to adapt to whatever situation we find our selves and stop complaining
I agree with mariejane. You folks dont know how much some remote parts of the country depend on corp members to bail their asses out (Education, health, etc)

The NYSC shouldnt be scrapped but undergo serious policy and structural change. I feel state goverments should be made to shoulder more responsibilites instead of leaving the FG to handle the scheme by itself.

After all, the states are the ones benefiting from " the service to the fatherland, "

Postings are out in You.I, and I got GOMBE sad They say however that due to logistics, some of us will spend the 3weeks orientation camp in BAUCHI, So 4 now, I don't even know which jungle im goin 2 b spendin 3 weeks in yet!!! Ive got some serious issues:

1. I'm seriously considering REDEPLOYMENT after the camp, bt I really don't know how 2 go about it,

2. Is there celtel, mtn or glo reception in either GOMBE or BAUCHI?

3. What is the closest airport to either of the two places? because im not about to go by road!!! (I know, there is an airport in bauchi but, wot airline travels that route?

4. Also, are there any flights direct 4rom LAG?

I need all the help I can get 4rom u nice FOLKS, Please help a NAIRALAND BROTHER IN NEED, My no. is 08023500845
Well i schooled in Bauchi so i can answer some of your questions grin grin

All the networks are available in Bauchi town and most of the local goverments. Same thing in Gombe but i hear Glo is much more stable there

The closest airport to Bauchi is Jos. There is just one flight a day to Jos from Lagos that gets there via Abuja ( I think Arik is the only airline plying that route)

From Jos Airport to the main town is about 30mins. From Jos town to Bauchi is an hr's drive (But the road is just beautiful - best highway in the north i call it)

From Bauchi to Gombe is about 1hr 30mins. To get to Gombe you have to go through Bauchi.

Bauchi's orientation camp is outside town in a place called Wailo - a real dead end believe me

If you need more specific info feel free to buzz me.

Ps: I'm serving in Lagos cool cool

I say NO SHAKING,
its Chelsea forever and no substitute. Managers come and go. owners come and go but the Blues remain- cheesy
That's absolute nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chelsea where nothing till the duo of Abramovich and Mourinho came along and revived the club. Mourinho has left and you folks are already feeling the impact.

When our beloved "Igwe" left us, all we gunners heard was that we were going to be relegated. But here we are, stronger and better than ever.

If you think you guys will make it through you are in for a big shock, The likes of Derby County, Wigan and co will no longer see "Chelski" as invisible but mere mortals that have lost the golden wand.

We at Arsenal are not selling forms - TAKE NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TV/MoviesRe: Your Worst Commercial Advert? by drklump(m): 10:26am On Sep 05, 2007
I've gone through most of the posts and i summarise the thread as "different strokes for different people"

Radio adverts are worse than the TV adverts believe me. The pidgin english is horrifying but nothing upsets me more than guys informing someone of a great offer and the the person just informed makes statements that make him look like a genius.

Absolutely silly!!!!!!!!!!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: First Bank Applicants,what's Your I.d's. by drklump(m): 7:49am On Aug 28, 2007
Terrible.

Folks actually were silly enough to drop their ID numbers. It all someone needs to log into the FBN website and retrieve details about you. contact address and all.

This is just plain sad and terrible that someone derives pleasure in getting info from people using their desperation to get jobs.

Folks this is a form of hacking called: Social Engineering. BEWARE!!!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: First Bank Test by drklump(m): 9:18am On Aug 24, 2007
I wrote the test at UNILAG yesterday. I was sleepy when i got there but after opening the first page of the question booklet, my eyes cleared immediately.

I made the silly mistake of starting from the beginning then going to the end. The math was "interesting" - and i read Computer science

I didnt get to finish. All the same i wish us all luck. Nothing above God believe me

Jobs/VacanciesRe: I Want To Join The Police Force by drklump(m): 11:53am On Jul 30, 2007
@free2rhyme

May i ask why u are so upset at the posts made so far?? Could it be you have close ties to the Nigerian Police??

As for folks willing to join the Nigerian Police, i would say you better be ready to become an outcast in your immediate society. The NPF are just a brigand of thugs and un-educated buffons that have been so fortunate to be licenced to carry arms.

My room-mate from school who is serving now wants to join the NPF and he was the only so far that has given a good reason to do so.
He read Bio-chemistry and he said the reason he was joining was cos he wanted to go abroad for his masters and he claims that the NPF do sponsor their men.

A good enough reason if you can beat the godfather attitude that will be a stumbling block in your way.
BusinessRe: ATMs: Automated Thieving Machines? by drklump(m): 10:15am On Jul 26, 2007
Hmmmm. So many stories.
I'm the old school type and i've never been one to embrace new technology immediately. I was forced to start using ATMs after spending close to 2hrs in a banking hall a few months ago.

My close shave with ATM was 2 weeks ago at Diamond Bank's ATM at Bode Thomas Surulere. I checked my balance and was happy to see that my account had been credited by NYSC. A smile on my face i keyed in the transaction to withdraw 10k.

The screen displayed the take ur card mesage and wait for ur cash. Then the card got stuck coming out. It withheld my card and my cash didnt come out.

I assure you that wiped the smile off my face. I dashed into the Banking hall and met the Customer care folks. My mind was already going ", ur cash is gone, ur cash is gone, "

They gave me back my card and assured me that my balance would be the same. I checked and voila it was still there. I withdrew my money and went home to reflec on my near miss.

ATMS are good but there is need for serious improvement.
Music/RadioRe: 2nd Thisday Music Festival - A Flop? by drklump(m): 10:18am On Jul 20, 2007
Salvage really has a point. What is the rationale behind the Thisday Music Festival. Where is the money going to?? Is it a profit making venture or a public service knd of stuff.

Thisday really ought to get their acts right. As for those who made it to the show and were disappointed - take heart!!!!

10k is really a lot of money to pay and not get satisfaction
Jobs/VacanciesRe: New Pay For Corpers? by drklump(m): 1:34pm On Jul 17, 2007

I sure do need an increase in the pay. I got lots of bills to settle, lol!
PhonesRe: Nokia And Sonyericsson, Which Is Better? by drklump(m): 9:27am On Jul 14, 2007
Very interesting reading all your opinions. I admit that SE are extremely good in terms of entertainment/music phones and camera picture quality. but i still believe nokia is better.

Let's be frank people:

1. Which other phone can u use as communication tool or self-defense object. The nokia 3310 in stone throwing mode is guaranteed to put an assailant in hospital if your aim is through.

2. Have you ever bothered to visit a gsm repair shop- you find nokia phones have a small share if u gather the damaged phones there

3. Cost effective - If you leave in Lagos like i do, it's wiser to buy a nokia (1100 or the 3310 again) when you bus around or during strolls. If you get mugged you are sure they'll return your phone back to you once they see it.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Will Thierry Henry Leave Arsenal. by drklump(m): 11:10am On Jun 15, 2007
Razor, letting henry go will not be a big deal. I'm a 100% gunner and always will be. Patrick Viera left and all though that was the end of us. We survived that one.

Henry was no so active last season if you compare the "Igwe" of previous seasons. There's only one Thierry Henry and there never will be another. You guys forget that we have Van Persie around in the club. I see that boy taking over the duty of Henry very soon.

No player is bigger than Arsenal - take that from a true Gunner. cool cool
ComputersRe: System Reboots by drklump(m): 10:39am On Jun 15, 2007
I suspect that you might be having an infection of a virus called Brontok. It replicates itself in folders and has the habit of rebooting your system. Open taskmanager on your pc and look at the process running.

Look to see if there is LSASS. I suspect you are going to find two of such processes. One will be run by the user system. THe other by the currently logged on user.

Any attempt to kill the process will get your system re-booted.

The solution is to download process explorer for windows and run it. That will help you shut down the virus for the session.

You then run your most updated anti-virus to clean it out.

Good luck to you
