Even as Nigeria is a third world country, no strike should linger on for more than 4 weeks.
Anything longer than that is counterproductive, don't forget this strike also has an indirect effect on the economy, the areas of transports and people with businesses around the campuses.
My own stance is that FG should pay ASUU their salaries, but we must also remember that ASUU don't always shy away from incessant strikes and dragging it on for as long as they like because they have the guarantee that they will get paid sooner or later.
Also i doubt if there's any Labour Law that supports paying striking unions salaries for 6 months out of work.

The belief that they will still get paid is why you hear ASUU boasting that they don't mind going on strike for 2 years, without minding the implications on others. If they know their salaries are also at stake, they will be ingenious and find alternatives.
