Pearl1910: But that means VIN too is irrelevant when engine has been changed because vehicle history reports pick mileage on the dash while new engine in the car may have a far less actual mileage.
Also, mileage can be rolled back from overseas o. The idiot was bragging about having low mileage etc.. It seems the 2007 camry he bought 2 years had only 75k miles on it ..... He should give us the Vin# so that we can look at the history of the car .. The title too at least we can tell how many owners own the car Anything is possible ... Never say never .. But rolling back mileage of cars is illegal and criminal offence.. It is not common thing. You can go to jail for it ....this is it why it is important to get a car fax report of the car ..... |

BAZ001: Buhari Regime and what’s happening around you has affected your mindset. You could have asked what year I bought d car and how much was it. Can mileage be rolled back in U.S before sale ? Which means we shouldn’t trust d mileage you displayed too You & riders just assume everyone driving Uber is poor, slave and not smart. I can’t afford 20k oil same way you can’t afford Mobil 1 again and you looking for Alternatives. I blame Buhari, when some graduate have been working for years and can’t buy a car, but u asking dem to buy land n build house like say house go feed dem or once u buy land u are made. Dts why una force people to go and build house in ikorodu and be working in Lagos. Young guys dt should live in city will be staying with retired grand fathers.
Don’t worry very soon... I go give update. Just free my car for now Abeg. I no get strength The answer is NO....it is illegal .....but people do change their engine of their car .. For example I might have damaged my car engine . And than decided to get another engine with low miles .. .. You are allowed to do that... So the replacement engine might have low miles e.g. 120k miles .. But the old engine u replace has 200k miles .. Basically the body of the car is 200k miles. So you just snapping the mileage of the car is no use .... You need to a vin number of the car to really to give you an idea the true mileage of the car or history report of the car ........ Without a vin# or history report don't snap any mileage for us ......No more talk |

I met a driver at bolt inspection he just got 03 Corolla and bragging of 80k mileage
I don't want to make him feel bad that naija dealer have roll back his mileage. Even some Moove cars wey be say na 2015/17 have 110kmiles how your 17yrs old car go com be 80k miles it's crazy.
Mine currently is above 200k got it around 157k For some weird reasons 80k is seems to be the magic number .. Most of those cars are roll back to that number.... Meself confuse |

davit: Just got myself this beauty too. No such sound. I just wonder why he uses 5w30 when recommended oil spec is either 5w20 or 0w20. They sound that he is talking about might be a lifter ticker. The lifter is worn out and needs replacement ..So by using heavier oil it might lubricate it enough to stop the ticking .. It doesn't mean the problem has. Been solved |

I dropped rider at lekki and dashed to my kazeem d guy formed pro just looked at it and said plug we changed plug shaking still continued. He said it’s plug coil , we changed it and everything went back to normal... this is the first time I’m experiencing such. Could it be cos I was Bragging about car last night? So I did one or two short trips, parked inside car park to do few things on island. Got back inside car to see a friend na so d guy open mouth and said who hit you ? Me for where? Na so I come down person don hit my front bumper na God save me e no affect light, probably at the car park. Hit and run and security no tell me. DonnyE: "Don't care" simply means I don't mind getting blocked for a day or a week. Sure money from bolt helps for small repairs and fuel money. Perhaps you should know that some people do it to kill boredom. Come to PH and see offshore guys doing bolt with their 2weeks or 1 month off duty... Now you should know why I rating is so bad.

BAZ001: I bought the car myself no 3rd party during Jonathan regime, seems Buhari regime has affected Nigerians mentality. The poverty is so much we buying 2007/10 car in 2021. We should be buying cars from 2015/16 but dollars don make people go 15yrs back and claiming Grade A Tokunbo I would have screen short d mileage when I bought it in U.S and now. But pls don’t let me talk about d car again. Wetin my eyes see today, I shouldn’t mention car never ever again. The 2007 car u are driving u can barely afford it .. Every morning you hitting the road driving up and down doing uber If you are really smart ur focus should have been for u to built a house first ........ Stay humble start small and built urself up .. Even you can't afford to buy 20k naira engine oil for the car .. But u want buy 2015 car smh .... You need a dose of reality... Don't let frustration cloud ur judgement boss up .. Start small Now to give u game .. To know a true mileage of a car you have to check the Vin number ... Because at times people swap engine. The previous owner might have change the engine of that car for whatever reason it might be .. So you snapping us a picture of mileage means nothing .. We need to see a report on the vin# The car might have 120k mileage on the dash board. But the body has over 200k miles. People swap engines.....lol .... U think u know it all

radautoworks: exactly. Average in US is 12,000 miles/year. In Texas, 15,000-20,000 It is a waste of time trying to explain to them about how mileage works... At least 50% of cars that a dealer sells in Nigeria have their mileage roll back .. And for some funny reason 80k miles is usually the roll back number ........ And I say to myself how can a car that is at least over 10 years old have only 80k miles on it ...... |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by dru23(m): 6:02am On May 20, 2021 |
deedee44: And you're very sure it has not been rolled back? Plz don't mind him. I no get power to dey explain to him about average miles in the USA ... This is the same guy that bought a tokunbo"2007 Toyota Camry" And uses 5k naira oil for servicing When people order cars from me they want a low mileage car .. They want a 2005 car with 80k miles or less .. A car that is over 10 years with under 80k miles lol .. Most times I don't even bother myself |

Chuwaa2: When I bought my corolla 2010, I noticed that sometimes when I crank the engine, it will make this high pitch sound like metal touching metal. I was very alarmed and googled it and found that it happens. I had consoled myself to use the car till the day the engine starts getting issues. I didn't want to fix it since that route is very expensive having read a thread in nairaland. My first oil change, I used Mobil 1 full synthetic, the issue continued, second oil change I used Mobil semi synthetic, same issue, I now used Castrol 5w30 bought from ENYO and that issue never happened again. So I'm stuck with Castrol. I believe in what works, the simpler the better, and if still cheaper.... the best. Depending on the spec of your corolla .. Yours might be an isolated incident .. I just bought a 2010 Corolla Sport .. It has 155k miles and the car runs beautiful and no noise at all .. The car is just a beauty .. The motor vehicle inspection sticker is still on it till October 2021 .. Meaning the car is still road worthy....... That been said , instead of putting a bandaid on the problem .. It is better for u to really find the reason for the ticking sound of the motor. It seems the oil you using is covering over the noise .. There is a problem somewhere ......
