BAZ001: See example of things that damage shockes and car legs in this hustle. They pack bags of rice inside booth, palm oil and co inside back seat to a bad street . For 900naira
Linkage/shockes price done shoot up. If on bolt drivers will carry cos they want to meet up bonus of 55trips Why would u allow riders to do such things.. Unless you are charging extra for the load . The bottom line is for such things to happen .. You drivers are charging extra for load...... I can understand suitcase and travelling bags etc .. But anything more than that is the greed of the drivers that is allowing that .. Simple as A B C |

kanuisagoat: The bad thing about repairs is, it can wipe off the whole of your earnings for one month.
You go just weak Tell me about it .. The worse are the ones given to the mechanic to fix .. Than few days later you are fixing the same issue again. .. You end up spending double again until you find the right mechanic that gets it right........ Transport business no be easy thing at all .. Especially when the cost of parts has gone up ..... |

kanuisagoat: Maybe for the camry but you see that corolla, I'm not sure whoever you have there will want to buy for you because you will hardly beat the price its being sold in Nigeria.
I may be wrong but I doubt dru23 will bother trying to buy that vehicle for anyone here.
How those dealers make profit on that vehicle, I don't know. You should see the way they try to outbid each other during auction.
And some of those vehicles despite the ridiculous price at auction will still require additional $275 or $625 dollars if its a non runner or a forklift unit.
Better save yourself the headache and buy from here if you insist on the corolla but if you can look into other makes preferably not toyota, you can make significant gains importing yourself as against buying here. You do have a point ... You know me very well....the stress is too much for those cars ....... |

Kingdemu: Pay no mind to that frustrated scammer called Radautoworks. In her smartness, that was her own diversionary tactic to make us deviate from pointing out her failure for scamming Crocif and not fixing a damn thing in his car. Well I didn't really want to get involve here .. The cabals on cartalk banned me for a year .... And the ban will be finally be lifted in two weeks . Than I can really do what I do best..... Since you brought the bullying into the Autosection . I can finally have an input ..... You are totally wrong calling someone a scammer without evidence .. Wrong is wrong and right is right.......... The only fault I see here with Radauto is fixing the car .. It seems to me the car was junk to start with . The shop should have told the owner to carry the car and look for another shop to fix. From experience some cars are so problematic due to owners abuse , that fixing it will just cause more issues than it will solve.. In the USA some mechanic shops will not even touch a car that has so much issue .... It is like trying to wake up dead person..... With all the issues that car as , I would have told the owner to either sell it or get a grade A tokunbo engine........ Even if the car is fully fix , it will never be like factory setting .. It is like putting a bandaid to a wound and in the long run . The wound will reopen again .. This is why I preach to owners all the time to always take the time to care for their cars......... Radauto is not a scammer bro .. I have transact business with her in past with no issues....... It would have been better for her not touch that car to begin with .. And the fact the owners was buying his own parts made things worse .. Most parts in the market now are either fake abused or low quality.......it takes time away from the shop anytime owners brings in the wrong part.... It is labour been wasted........ So kindly stop the unnecessary insult and bullying .. If the owner had taken time to care for his car .. We wouldn't be having this conversation now ..... |

kanuisagoat: My only problem with quality parts is that, sometimes I can't justify the price.
A brand new OEM Toyota compressor should be close to N200,000 if not more. Why should I spend that much when I can take my chances with a Tokumbo that costs less than 50k?
How many passengers will I carry to recover that N200k?
You have the volume, so you can spread your expenses but those of us with just one vehicle don't have that luxury. When I say quality parts I mean quality tokunbo parts .. I don't mean brand new parts.. There are certain parts that I will brand new like spark plugs or ball joint.... For now I luvvinhubby parts are good for me .. He seems to know his stuff and has quality parts.. Just like people know for importing original engine oil ..luvvinhubby seems to know his stuff.... My point is that look for someone that sells things at a reasonable price |

Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by dru23(m): 1:35pm On Apr 19, 2021 |
Pearl1910: Na wa ooo...how much do u make a month on ehailing? I tot we have gone past this argument. If u drive ur car, u make way more than 100k in a month irrespective of gow many days or weeks in d month u drive. Many, many people have done HP of 2.5m - 3.5m in 2yrs successfully. Also, people have driven rental without defaulting for ones until they either moved on to other things or got car on HP. But my focus is mainly on if u drive ur car or u r doing HP.
When I say I don't talk without prove, I meant it... Without sounding pompous, I paid HP of 3m in 2yrs (100weeks actually), d week I couldn't pay, I compensated and spread it out in d coming weeks. When u make 70-100k in a week u can pay more than ur normal weekly payment, its for ur own good, so that the week u can't meetup owner no go vex too much. Now hasn't that owner recouped his investment and more in 2yrs? Don't forget that drivers on HP also have d responsibility of maintaining the car. So they pay HP fees, maintain car and still have something for themselves. Now imagine if the guy owns d car an still maintains that same level of discipline and dedication.
Now, I drive my own car, I have bought atleast one car every year since I finished the HP, I can easily save (not make) 100k a month towards getting another car from the car I drive alone.
U also agree that a driver can net minimum 250k in a month and that's being conservative, repairs or no repairs
So why can't an investor/car owner driver recoup his investment in 2yrs? How is this false information?? Have you been enlightened now All things been equal ...... I like your business sense.. The starting is always tough ..but once u were able to pay up ur first hp. U were able to at least buy 1 car every year to increase ur fleet...... This is a gradual process .. The more u add to ur fleet each year ( all things been equal ) the more u have more money to add another car in less than a year ..... It is tough but achievable ..... I like ur post |

That's by the side, is it my eyes or you actually didn't mention oil in this epistle From my personal experience to business experience in Nigeria .. People tend to lie a lot about this and that .. This is why at least 90% of the time I always back up my claim .. I try to show evidence and I think most people on Nairaland can vouch for me ...... What is my point ........

kanuisagoat: The thing shock me too o
In my 6 months on ehailing, I've changed hub twice( same side) changed linkage, control arm bushing, changed battery, bought a fake oil that caused sludge so the engine had to be opened and cleaned, changed bulbs numerous times(I don tire to change this one), changed brake pad, had exhaust leaks a couple of times I've had to fix.
So I will be shocked if any car manages to cover as much miles as I've covered in 6 months without needing any major repairs. My red colored civic ... I bought it tokunbo with 90k miles at the time ... The first 6months I never had any issues, all I did was oil change .........The most I spend on repairs can't be up to 60k naira ......... When it comes to auto parts the most important thing is getting quality parts . once you are able to get good quality parts , than your repairs and downtime will reduce .... I have replace the same parts over and over again .. I wasted money . And this is due to low quality parts and incompetent mechanics....... Can you believe with the civic I have never change the a/c compressor before .. And this is because I used the imported freon ......... if owners can go the extra mile to take care of their cars by buying quality parts. It will save them time and money in the long run |

northbird:
On paper, everything looks so smooth, but let's look at reality, 25k rental for 96 straight weeks, non stop!.No room/ factor for contingencies
I carried a man who once had 5 corrolas put out for rent. He told me he had to sell everything, never made a profit.
He told me that the last corrolla he bought ( that tipped him off the cliff of E-hailing) ,
just in a space of 2 months he gave the driver, the car was almost a wreck, in his words : " when I saw my car, I felt like shedding tears"
As Baz 001 said, I`d rather be chupping my money 30k weekly with rest of mind than put 1.8 Milla on E-hailing, the fares r really shitty.
I duff my hat for any fleet manager out there. Most owners don't know how to manage their cars .. A lot of them hire drivers without doing due diligence. A lot are using the wrong cars for the job .......I blame the partner for the collapse of the business .. All hands must be on deck if u want to succeed........ And have been saying this from the day .. Corolla is too expensive for the job .. It does not make sense using corolla .. It cost too much and it is over price regardless if it is tokunbo or not ........ Even if you buy naija used corolla for e hailling ... It is still expensive.. And most naija cars are abused especially the corolla .. So in the long run u are running at a lost .. Coz that naija used corolla u will end up pumping money for repairs ..... |

BAZ001: Fair enough ? How can you compare E-hailing to public transport dt uses 1984 cars packing people like sardines. You go to the front of their house wait for minutes to pick 4 people from surulere to Unilag and fare is 700. With your AC on and bags in booth. And they can still do fake transfers. You call that fair ? Yellow taxi will calculate per head and extra money for luggage, put off engine inside traffic n hot sun.
Same way you said remitting 25k weekly is cheating of partners who do maintenance of car. Must driver suffer to make even ?
Again cost of parts has gone up .. any driver that his paying 25k weekly and partner does 100% maintenance . that driver is very lucky .. Again that driver is very lucky.... I know how much I spend for parts for my Civic .... The cost of parts as hit roof ..... ...lucky for me if you get quality parts for the civic and get a mechanic that knows what he/ she is doing .. Than your maintenance cost will be low ...... The Civic was design from the start has a low cost maintenance car ........my brother cost of parts has gone up ...... Below is my last repair done a month ago.......hopefully I wouldn't have to worry about anymore repairs for now .. Just the basic oil change ....... Ps .. Even the cost of engine oil has gone up ... Even though I do import engine oil to sell .... I do charge the cost to my uber fleet .. That cost is nothing less than 20k naira. Especially if am using Mobil 1 extended performance....... Am hoping to lower that cost by bringing in an alternative to Mobil ... As a business man am always looking for ways to trim the "fat" .... I can't no longer afford 20k plus oil anymore ........So a great alternative is on the way and am guarantee it will save me money
