Fiyinfoluwa20:5w30 should be fine ...but make sure u switch back to 5w20 on your next oil change... have used 5w30 in the past when I ran out of 5w20.. And the car was fine after I switch back. And I do have 5w20 for sale now ....So put in your order 1 Like |

Very unfortunate that I feel this way .....Gazzuzz your cartalk mods and co ...are very corrupt group of people.. All the post that I posted about my oil findings has been either hidden or deleted ... even the complaint I posted last nite was deleted .. Have been observing a lot lately and not try to jump into conclusion.... But my final conclusion is that your gangs are trying to control the narrative to favour your own gain. You guys are afraid of criticism and competition... you want to control what gets posted .. This forum has turned into a political fight of who controls what and how.. Let competition and facts rain my brother..... When the whole thing about Canadian cars came up. I didn't really want to jump the gun.. I was trying to be objective and reason with you .. My thing was that as long as the buyers are given full disclosure about what they are buying that is all that matters... Than it came to my turn with my oil posting about the use of 20w50 oil .. I stated facts using owners manual of why 5w30 is great for Nigerian weather regardless how hot it is .. You still stated that aslong as the 20w50 is ok as long as the oil is change every 2k miles .. I posted facts about how some cars superficially states don't use 20w50 ...I posted for example on owners manual on certain year camrys that if 0w20 oil is not available, you can use 5w20 via owners manual. Which am sure Camry owners were not aware before.. Than to my surprise I found out it was deleted, for what reason I don't know... No-one should have any monopoly on cartalk .. .. Fiyinfoluwa20:One of 04 civic did similar thing... maintenance light came up.... We did oil an oil change and the maintenance still came on .. My mechanic reset the maintenance light and it went off .. Take yours to a civic expert and have them take look at it..maybe the maintenance light needs to be reset. Have them look at the level too.. Since I use my civic for uber work .. I do oil change with Mobil 1 Extended Performance good for 15k miles oil change interval... but I change my oil every 10k to 12k with Fram oil filter.... I never had any issues so far and the car has been on uber platform for 8months plus .And I bought the car tokunbo with about 91k miles ....The correct oil for those civics is 5w20.. Now there is YouTube video that tells you how to reset it.. But better take it to a good mechanic and have them check it out through to be safe. ... civics are known to have good engine and tough too. The last civic I had to sell had tough engine. It was Nigerian Mobil xhp wrong oil at the time.. It lasted me about 2 years on uber platform.. And my mechanic advice to sell it before the engine starts to smoke due to the use of Mobil xhp 20w50... The engine was tough as nail and transmission was good too .. If I can recall I bought the car with 169k miles and I sold it with 269k miles ....

iamkim7:That is the wrong oil my brother. Correct oil 5w20 , I have 03 civic and recommended oil is 5w20... hopefully the damage of that engine is still ok ..Hondas have great engines ...but it can only take abuse for so long... below is my civic 1 Like

The thing is the time and energy it takes is not worth it .. The profit that you guys make might seems a lot to you guys... But factor in my own standard of living.. That profit will do very little for me in the USA... due to USA standard of living.. The high cost of living in USA is much higher than Nigeria ... I might offend a lot of car dealers on NL .. But car business is a lazy man business.. I need a business that brings me cash weekly cash. And this is what uber does for me passive income.. We all need passive income, something that can generate cash flow ..Car business ties money down........ The cars I do sell are based on request.. I do have few clients that use offerup or craiglist.. These guys communicate with the sellers and agree on a price.. My job is to pay the seller ,tow the car,ship to the port and do all the paper work for my client.. And I charge a fee for it. And at times I see good offers and I buy to sale .. All these things I do on my own free time .. I don't go out of my way to do it.. I don't have that time and patient.. But when it comes to looking for cars for my uber fleet .. I definitely create time and go out of my way.. Uber business pays me more than car sales by far..... |

GAZZUZZ:Unfortunately I don't keep track of my sales.. Once the cars are sold I delete pictures from my phone.. So far this year on request have sold about 7 cars so far and sold 1 out of about 8 cars of mine... The cars I buy are not auction cars.. Buyers will price the cars like they are pricing roasted corn on street corner... I can't sell my cars at give away price. My time is valuable to me, if I wanted to sell all those I have left, trust me they will be sold by now ...but for what ? For peanuts..... I go just stick to my uber fleet and oil business jeje. .. But am a drug addict for good deal , can't control myself when I see good deals ..it is what it is |

dannybrasky:Well whatever works sha.... Uber business has been more profitable for me than car sales.. The only reason I buy cars at times, is when I see really good deals.. It's like a light bulb comes on.. And I can't control myself, but it just tie down capital ..while uber is cash coming in every week I just don't have the extra time to be snapping pictures ,do video , snap underneath of car ,call buyer etc omo I no fit do am ..too stressful for me . Than at the end buyer will start talking nonsense up and down .. Most buyers don't appreciate good cars when they see one.. Than most car dealer will say once u sell the car you get bulk money.. I just laugh.. I tell them subtract your capital and tell me your profit... Than they keep quiet... each to his own sha.. |

jarkbauer:The point am trying to get to you is the profit margin... Try to be objective and think with an open mind ..a lot of car dealers come on NL boasting of how many cars they sell etc.. Keep in mind auction cars are very expensive.. My the time you add up auction fees, towing fees ,fixing the car the up etc ..how much is the profit bro ... And most these car dealers are selling on behalf of their customers.. Now for me for example I buy from private individuals. It cost less and most time the cars are accident free .... I posted a picture of a 2010 Corolla ,if I tell you my landing cost .... You will not believe me bro, but as far am concern the profit margin does not really move me like that .. But at the same time I didnt really have to kill myself to get the car at a good deal ... Another free auction, non accidental car might be loading soon.......stay tuned bro.. this is all by request o.
