The bible mentioned he is/was from David's lineage but never demonstrated how he is/was from David's lineage, but here you are adding to the bible what wasn't written.

Your logic of adoption was dead on arrival cus Wikipedia and other historic encyclopedia of learning says: Adoption does not exist formally as a practice in Jewish Law (Halacha).
