Yes, and so is Father Christmas. the tooth fairy, and the Easter Bunny. |
It probably matter since people don't pay attention to speed limit in Nigeria, but you migh want to consider replacing the stock mph-km/hr speedometers on American cars with a Km/h exclusive speedometer. As to your question, my mother tried the same thing last year, but has yet to see any return on her investment, and ran into quite a few loopholes. Good luck to you. |
I'll just be very honest with you. If you are doing any technical or scientific degree, no employer will take your online diploma seriously. I don't know about business and law, but I'm sure it's the same to most employers. If you plan to be self employed you can probaly do such, but otherwise, you are seriously wasting your time. I am not against educating yourself online, but I am against paying for it, and it is silly to be expecting some degree from it. Actually one of my fave websites is MIT OPenCourseware. The site has downloadable video of lectures given by MIT profs as well as pdfs of exams and coursework . I guess now I should be expecting a degree in Electrical Engineeering, right . MIT OCW is great, but there is no substitution for sitting in lecture hall and taking timed, rigorous exams, and performing lab work with other students. Sorry you will have a hard time trying to convince anyone of the merits of an online degree, much less an employer. And uspry1, are you serious about the Va. Tech incident. That was a freak accident. Colleges and Universities still remain much safer than other civilian places of interaction. You can't really be that paranoid? When was the last time you heard about a shooting at a university. Things like this are extremely rare. That was just such a nonpoint. |
Clearly this is proof of the power of prayer. LOL. You guys crack me up. |
By the way I'm a University of Michigan Alum (B.S Aerospace Engineering). B.S. = American for bachelor of Science != Bullshit |
No offence uspry, but what good is a degree if it's not accredited. The whole concept of online degree does not make much sense to me. |
These are the worst types. These people are not gangstas, and drug dealers. They are engineering students and facullty. People who would not have suspected anything of the sort to happen to them. I could easily have been one of the victims. Just so fucking sad. Freak accidents like this happen in other countries (Canada and Germany most recently), but USA really seems to have a disproportionate amount of crazies. My condolences to the families of the victims |
Of course it won't work in 2007. If you follow the instructions, using the numbers given, you should get your age at this time in 2005. There are three ways that you won't get your age in 2005 1. If you choose a non-integer (decimal) amount of times to eat chocolate e.g. 2.5 2. If you were older than 100 in 2005 3. If you are retarded and can not do basic math This is not creepy. When it asked for the birthyear I already knew what was going on. Think about it: Let x be the no of times you want chocolate where 1<x<=10, and y be your birth year For those whose birthdays have passed, the formula becomes (2X+5)*50 + 1755 - y = 100x + 250 +1755 -y = 100x + (250 + 1755) - y = 100x + (2005 - y) for those whose birthdays have yet to come, the formula becomes (2x +5)* 50 + 1754 -y =100x + (250 + 1754) -y = 100x + (2004-y) Note: Since y is your birth year, then (2005 -y) will be your age in 2005 if you were born in '05, and your bithdate has passed. Otherwise, (2004 -y) will be your age. And note that 100x can only be either 200, 300, 400,, , 900, because of the restrictions on x. That means you are adding your birthday to a number divisible by 100, hence the first digit will be whatever x number you chose, and the last two digits will be your 2005 age. Of course this whole thing can be modified for the year 2007, but you have to use 1757 if your birthday has passed already, and 1756 if you have yet to celebrate your birthday. Sorry to piss on the parade. |
You were just hallucinating, or you may have smoked to much weed. |
This is the tenth forum I have seen this same post on. It was only funny the first time I saw it. |
Sharetroll, you obviously grew up in Yankee if you think Olajuwon is more globally popular than Okocha, Kanu or even Taribo. Many Nigerians have never even heard of Olajuwon, talkless of that Olowokandi guy . I like basketball, but it does not touch football (real football) in terms of global popularity. And on subject, Fela is definitely the most popular and well respected Nigerian. I just wish we could have more original Nigerian artists lke him, but it seems all of our artists want to be poor Western copycats nowadays. |
How about performance. Notebook computers have always lagged in that area. Desktop computers have more transistors = more heat = faster performance. It isn't practical for laptops to use the advanced processors, video cards and ram that are used in desktops because 1. battery technology is just not up to task, and 2. there is not enough air flow in a laptop to dissipate the heat generated from additional transistors . In other words, laptops are hindered in their performance by the need for portability. Also I have a 22" monitor with my desktop, and I can go as large as I want. Anything above 15" looks stupid with a laptop. Of course, you won't value the performance difference unless you are a computer enthusiast i.e. a gamer/power user. Hence most people would prefer a laptop.I do value the difference, and only use the laptop when I don't have access to a more powerful desktop. |
nferyn, excellent post. Circular reasoning/logic amazes me. When you want to make a mathematical or scientific proof, you use already established principles and definitions to prove theorems. Many Christians, on the other hand will altogether dismiss a more enlightened person has a fool and discount their argument simply because the bible (which is the object of the argument) tells them so. The mind boggles! It is impossible to argue with someone like that, and I have generally given up, although some of them do end up coming around. @Seun, how many posts must I have to join your prestigious group. |
Jen33 said:I have been a lurker on this board, particularly the Religion section, for too long now, but I must comment. This is one of the best posts I have ever read, and what you said bone-numbingly true. Why do us Africans have low such self esteem? Not only are many of us thoroughly colonized, but we are brainwshed as well. You're right. It does makes me want to cry. Keep on posting the truth, man. |
