Never mind. I won't be mean. |
The first riddle is poorly framed. You first said he made sure there was no one in the car, then you said the wife was in the car. Nonsense. |
Don't put too much emphasis on it. FIFA rankings have always been a joke. |
^ It's a fact. Ajunwa is the only Nigerian individual gold medalist. The only other gold medals were won in team events: 1.)Nigerian football team in 96 and 2.) the Nigerian men's 1600m relay team in 2000 after US was stripped of gold 12 years later (since one of the US relay team members was doping) |
lepasharon: why is it that long distance runners r always skinny?Wow that's an intelligent question. Perhaps, it's because they run long distances. Just a hunch. ![]() |
Nice Olympics. I enjoyed it thoroughly. One of the best in my lifetime even though Nigeria didn't win a single medal. |
Even before we were disqualified, we were still second to last. |
Nigeria's medal hopes are looking bleak. Hopefully Chukwamerije can repeat for a medal in Tae Kwan Do. Right now I'm rooting for second generation Nigerians such as the very pretty Foluke Akinradewo who is killing it for USA indoor volleyball team. UK also has a ton of second generation Nigerian athletes to root for in track and field. https://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7zn6pO0lk1r6g9kao2_400.jpg |

All this UK-US bickering needs to stop. Who the F cares? Silly Nigerians forgetting where they're from. On another note, great opening ceremony. Never liked The Arctic Monkeys but they did an excellent cover of the Beatles. |
manny4life:Stop being a dunce and read (and comprehend) the articles and previous replies before posting. Of course, they are working now but all of the websites were inaccessible at some point due to DDoS hacks. What = Do you think they don't have there on IT experts who can sort out the problems. Some of you people, sef. Don't be lazy - READ. |
Only in Nigeria. Gullible folks |
Some of you peeps are so reactionary. Why don't you read and understand before spewing nonsense. No the US congress is not planning to censor the internet. The Stop Online Piracy Act is a bill supported by large entertainment and recording corporations to control piracy. The problem is that it won't work. They had a similar bill in Congress which failed just last year. And this bill will also fail. Trying to compare the BILL (not a law) to laws in place in regimes like China and Iran which censor political and religious speech on the internet is simply disingenuous. |
I've recently started dating a lovely girl who is also devoutly religious. As a result I've started attending a local RCCG parish here in the States. Whenever the pastor starts prayer session, the church seems to become an instant madhouse. People running about, laying on the ground, spazzing out, acting like nut-jobs, and asking for God to rain fire on everything. One elderly man at the church even started shaking me, telling me I was not praying hard enough. "Pray like a NIgerian" he yelled. Nigerian pentecostal style of prayer is extremely forceful and violent. Has this type of gra-gra prayer proven to be more effective than just simply asking God your requests without all the shouting, screaming sweating, and catching epileptic seizures. I mean with all of the violent prayer in Nigeria compared to the much more muted Western style, Nigerians are generally still far worse off. Why is it that Nigerians pray in this manner? Does this style make your prayers more likely to be answered? I left Nigeria at a young age, and I guess I am Westernized in my attitude about prayer (and religion in general). Shouldn't a sincere prayer with a righteous heart be sufficient and effective? Does God require all the demo. I am a laid back gentleman and it is not in my nature to act like a crazy person. Her pastor and others have advised her about having relations with me because of a sense that I was not spiritual. I am a skeptical person by nature, but I have a spiritual side. This is an honest question. I don't wanna lose this girl. |
Front page link is wrong. Article says 2million pounds not dollars. |
It's ok for what it is. and the price point. The 7" fire was not meant to be an ipad competitor. It is simply a device to access Amazon's media services. I think the size is perfect though. I am one of the few that thinks the iPad is to big for continuous use, so I might get one of these. I'm pretty sure it will be hacked to access the Android marketplace soon after arrival, but my main gripe is the lack of a camera (that alone kills a lot of possible apps). I suspect the 10" kindle fire (2012 release?) will be an actual competitor of the Ipad, but not this one. But since it doesn't have 3g, it's pretty much useless in Naija. |
Newscaster and buzugee, you guys are just being being disingenuous. How can you compare Western police corruption to Naija. No one is claiming there is no corruption in the police force in the West. The fact remains that cases of police corruption in the West are mostly isolated, and there is an accountability system in place and other checks and balances. The reason why you can post stories and pictures about them is because any such event will make it into 6 o'clock news, and will certainly make the front page of the local newspaper. Is that the case in Naija? Just think of how many checkpoints the Nigerian police force have set up to collect bribes, and all the falsely accused citizens that are being held in prisons unjustly. Of all my years of living in the U.S., I have never been stopped by a police officer with no other intent but to extort money from me. I spend three weeks on a recent visit in Nigeria, and am stopped multiple times. In Ikeja CV, with an old friend, we were stopped and asked to produce a receipt of a laptop that my friend took for repair and were held for over 3 hrs until we paid bribe. Countless times we were pulled over while driving and the same story. I've even heard story of people asked to produce receipt of foodstuffs they purchased in the market. Truly a shame. We can't just roll over and be complacent about this nonsense. We need a serious revolution in Nigeria. |
Man, the Blackberry hate is thick. I used an Iphone 3g for two years and like it very much. I decided, on a whim, to go for the BB torch 9800. I have to say, I quite enjoy the phone, even though the specs are quite lacking (<1ghz proc, vga camera etc). It has all the apps I need. I'm not much of a gamer, but it has all the apps for all the other things. And BBM is what made it a keeper for me. I got rap.ed by my provider on txt messages. Since so many in Naija have a bb, I basically can txt as much as I want (on BBM of course) without any charge. Cant beat that. |
lol @ this thread. Unintended humour is often the best type of humour. @OP, isn't using Symbian in this age of iOS and Android already enough torture? |
This is the fool's Myspace page. Yup, some of these black Americans are just useless/ |
Seun, these your censors are out of control. So one can't type chicken b.reast again. Which one is chicken bosom? Nawa O. |
^What are you talking? If anything, skinny people probably have stronger (more active) digestive systems. The reason they are skinny is because their body metabolizes food a lot quicker than norm. So even if they overeat, the weight gain is only marginal. @OP, I used to be very skinny (5'10, 130lbs(59kg)), now I'm 145 (66kg) (I'm still kinda skinny, but more muscular). My advice is to eat plenty of lean protein (Chicken, breast, beef, and fish), and do some heavy lifting (join a gym, or get some dumbbells). You will gain weight if you eat fats and carbs, but all that weight will be fat, and you won't like the results. High protein diet combined with weight training will get you looking cut, and the ladies will be lusting after you. Avoid fats and carbs. Gain muscle, don't gain fat. |
Mudley313:Wow his AllHip Hop tribute thread is almost as long as this one. He definitely touched a lot of peple. I have to say it really bothers me that there are absolutely no leads in this case so far. Absolutely no suspects, or anything. And media coverage of this case has been pathetic. When that white girl got killed at North Carolina a couple years back, it was national news and there was a national manhunt for her murderers. I guess people just turn a blind eye when it's a black person that gets killed, which is viewed as the norm especially in a city like Chicago. Despite the fact that the guy was well educated, and had a promising future, he is stilled viewed as just another dead ni**er. This case has certainly jaded me quite a bit. |

This whole thing has really got me depressed. When I read info about the guy, I just think it could very well have been me. According to his university's Twitter page, a memorial service will be held on Monday. They had very positive things to say about him. RIP brother. |
My goodness. This is just so sad. Bawomolo. I can't believe it. Some times I really hate the United States. This is unfathomable. Senseless violence. And Chicago has to be the worst. |
This has probably already been mentioned. I have to say my biggest pet peeve with Nigerian written English is the use of am instead of 'I am' or even 'I'm'. It's not effective as shorthand since it only saves one keystroke, and it just looks silly. Seems like every Nigerian under 30 (besides me of course) writes it that way. Also Nigerians tend to use the words advice/advise interchangeably, e.g. 'Please advice me'. |
4llerbuntu:I can't believe this post has gone unchecked until now. What in heavens are you talking about? The unibody Macbook has almost all those things you mentioned. The Macbook (Pro & non-Pro) have a slot-loading optical drive, SD card reader, replaceable RAM and battery, and a mini displayport which is essentially the same signal as hdmi in a more compact package. Hardly any laptop comes with upgradeable LAN card. That is usually embedded into the system board. You can always get an add-on Usb network card if you want, but why the hell would you need that anyway? Certainly you wouldn't be silly enough to compare the iPad, or even the Macbook Air to a full-fledged laptop. Those devices were designed to be super-mobile. The Macbook Air is 0 .4 - 2cm thick. One of the thinnest laptops ever made. It doesn't have an optical drive like most netbooks. But it does have replaceable RAM and battery. |
