hopefulLandlord:You probably copy and pasted this from somewhere but it's truth nonetheless |
kevoh:lol. You said it better than I could ever have |
Only in Nigeria, do we give these charlatans a public platform and give credence to the rubbish they say. Nation of overly superstitious f**king idiots. |
I'm not trying to diminish this ladies' accomplishments, but stop with the falsehoods, Nairaland. York College is not a top US university, it's hardly even qualifies as a university. It's mostly for people seeking nursing degrees and few other specialties. You can't get an engineering degree, any science degree, or even a liberal arts degree at York College. It's just a small college in Queens, New York. |
Nigerians are so fu(king vain. Its a disease. |
How about using advice (noun) and advise (verb) interchangeably. I have seen countless threads that start off with the sentence "Please advice me". |
cronsberg: I just don't know whats wrong with this americansFirst off, you must be an unsophisticated and uncultured individual if you don't know that steak is a particular cut of beef, and whether you are in Australia, UK or U.S, steak is the same thing. Beef just means any meat from a cow. It's only Nigerians I know that oddly only refer to beef as 'meat' as if it's the only type of meat. Canada and Australia all have their versions of football, and Canadians call it soccer as well. Australians national team are even called the Socceroos. Second, I feel people like you, Shymmex and co, are just extremely petty. If you want to criticize America for legitimate reasons such as intervening in foreign affairs or the NSA, I'm fine with that, but criticizing them for having their own distinct culture is silly. Soccer was a term coined by British that stuck with the American colonies and much of the terminology used in Am. English was formed by cultural norms and influences at the time. It's not like they just wrote a dictionary and changed everything to be different from the British. So what if they use a different set of units here - they use the same units that the British established in the colonies that Nigeria was also using in the 70s and there was no strong reason for them to change. I prefer metric and I even use it here in my occupation in the states, but if it works for them, why do you care. It hasn't stopped them from being scientific and technological innovators. The funny thing about this whole thread is that there are many Yanks who are passionate about football. I personally don't care if they do or do not like it - I like it since I was raised in football, but being here for a while, I can understand why a number of Americans detest it and they have absolutely every right to do so. It's like some of you are jealous that they have their own ways of doing things. That being said, Ann Coulter is a loudmouth idiot that only right wing idiots would listen to. I like how some of you have let her opinions represent all Americans when she actually represents the loony fringe, so you can just make this another bash the Yanks thread. |

tefund: mediocre candidate for African footballer of the year these daysThis is the truth of the matter. Mikel being a candidate would just reflect the poor form of African football these days. Gone are the days of true elite African footballers (90s, early 00s). Instead of guys honing their skills on the pitch, I see so many young and out of shape Naija guys, who would rather waste their time obsessing over English league clubs and players. |
That is not America's own letter. McCain is a decrepit, warmonger and hardly speaks for "America". America herself made that abundantly clear when he ran for the highest office in 2008. |
obi1kenobi, I wish you'd just shut your sellout-ar.se up. See how shameless you are - salivating over a white woman while badmouthing a beauitful, inspirational black woman who has broke ground for black women in her sport. smh @ your minstrel-like worship of a white woman while many of the same white people view your race as subhuman. Nonsense. Anyway, Serena's got this one in the bag. Black Power! |
Serena, it's not good o. Haba |
^I don't get you folks that complain about the content in secular music. If you want to see fully dressed women and well behaved men, go watch a fawking gospel video or something. Since you have such high morals, why are you listening to and watching such music in the first place. Nonsense |
platinumricky: Boeing just got into hot water... the 777 aint even up to 3yrs in production and it has already gotten involved in a crash landing! the other time, it was a battery-related smoke issue. What are you talking? The Boeing 777 has been in production for over 20 years. |
Kai. This match sweet oh. |
Our boys are missing that killer instinct |
Really we don't have a chance of moving on even if we win but I'm impressed by the effort by our boys so far. |
don't listen to these jokers - don't start consuming eba, you'll just get pot belly. Building lean muscle requires consumption of a very high protein diet, with moderate fats and low carb. Eat lots of fish, chicken, plenty egg whites, beans etc. Combine that with weightlifting (heavy weights, low repetitions) and you'll be ripped (and not fat) in no time unless of course you're an ectomorph. But even ectomorphs like myself can still build moderate amounts of muscle, but don't expect to become a bodybuilder. |
That photo has similar vintage to my parent's wedding photos from 1975 (37 years ago), though they married in the village (so there might have been more modern technology). Going off that, I'd age the photo about 37 years (give or take 3 years) making Okocha between 37 and 43 years old. Perhaps not all Nigerian footballers are lying about their age. |
Oladipo is a very crafty player and the he's excellent on defence. I feel he needs to do more offensively, but I can't wait till he gets to the NBA. Definitely a top five pick. I'm a UofMichigan dude for life but I'm rooting for Indiana this year. |
Your use of English grammar is rather creative as well. |
Religious studies is no different than other subjective studies such as 'Greek mythology', 'English literature' or 'Modern Art'. These types of courses should be purely academic and free of any bias. In other words, CRS (as it was called back in my days) should not be a class where the teacher tries to evangelize the students. Unfortunately my 'typical Nigerian' teacher back in secondary school tried to turn the class into a deliverance/Holy Ghost service. mcheeew To answer the question, no it should not be compulsory; It is not a fundamental study like Language or Mathematics, It should instead be done out of interest as an elective course. |
Blue Magic: The woman faked the hate crime. Nobody attacked her. Louisiana is predominantly black. Get ur facts right!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL @ you telling people to do research that you haven't done yourself. No state in the US is predominantly black. Cities, particularly big cities perhaps maybe but not a whole state. Louisiana is over two-thirds white and a republican stronghold, New Orleans in Louisiana, on the other hand is predominantly black. And besides that, what is even your point with that statement |
Nigerians, are hyper-sensitive of the way Western media typically portrays Africa. But if you watch the U.S. version, you know Rick Ross has no agenda. He showed the most slummy ghetto areas in the U.S. (New Orleans) in that version. The song is about overcoming struggle so of course he has to show the hustle and struggle of Lagos life. Nigerians are so status conscious and act as if what he's showing is not reality. It's very real and just because well-off Nigerians choose to ignore it, doesn't make it any less real. |
sbeezy8: THIS MAKES no sense. He isn't even a white American. The man is a Coptic Christian (an Egyptian Christian) who resides in the U.S. Sorry Muslims are not helping themselves by their irrational reactions to this event. |
Dazl: No one is saying anything about the americans.why insult a public figure.they cant make degrading movies of Abraham or Obama bt can walk away with insulting a belived prophet of God...we africans are ready to take shitWhat Americans? Why are you posting such nonsense. Americans did not join together and co-opt to make a film about Mohammed. This was the action of one obscure fellow, who as it turns out is actually an Egyptian Christian, residing in the US. That man is guaranteed his freedom of speech in the U.S. If the Arabic Muslims brains are too undeveloped to understand that and they wan't to continue to be violent barbarians, how is this America's fault? And there have been plenty of degrading books and films about both Christianity and Obama. Sounds like you really are just talking about matters you know nothing about. |
cheddarking: What I don't understand is where these Muslims get the American flag to burn... ![]() |
dasparrow: @PostClearly, you're not very bright. Just another blame-America-for-everything joker. What does America or it's citizens (some of which are Muslims) have to do with one individual's actions? The U.S is not a theocracy and does not repress freedom of speech and of expression. Christianity has been mocked in Hollywood for decades - of course they haven't dared to mock Islam because of fear of events like this. So you think because a bunch of illiterates are offended by something as mundane as this amateur film (which most haven't even seen for themselves), that the U.S should constantly be walking on eggshells and go against their own principles of freedom of speech so as to not offend their unfounded and insecure sensibilities. Clearly, you are not a rational being. Most Americans don't give two sh.its either way about Islam and even if they hated the religion (as I do), they have every right to. Muslims have proven time and time again that they are violent buffoons who overreact at the slightest provocation. |
A bunch of uneducated idiots acting a fool over a film made by some unknown fellow, not even a major studio. Just shows you how insecure these fools are about their silly religion. This has nothing to do with morality; These guys know their own holy book is a load of baloney. It is firmly rooted in their own religious insecurity. |
chic2pimp: Says who?........That trophy is heading back to the Great Island known to you and the rest of the world as BritainYou English folks are just silly. Murray is a proud Scot in the same vein as Sean Connery and does not share in the British camaraderie. Now that he's finally in good form, English are desperately trying to claim him as one of them under the so-called 'British' umbrella. The man is Scottish. Let him be. Besides, Djoker got this one anyway. |
Why do people get up in arms about FIFA rankings. They don't mean jack. Even as weak as we are now, Nigeria is still better than at least half of the nations ranked above us. |
