how good is the n95? well it isnt the best fone out there but its been such a gr8 experience for me. its a symbian fone meaning u can install apps and all tht, but i really am not into apps on fones (i hardly ever see use for them). I just have opera, slick and joikuspot on the fone. i use the fone for the following things: as a wireless router, so i can connect to its internet connection via wireless on my laptop. i connect the fone to my audio system and i'm able to play songs from it i connect the fone to my tv (mainly for slideshows) on few occasions i use it as a webcam (having a 5MP camera as a webcam is just something else) i use the fone as a removeable storage media tht's all i can remember now though. The battery life of the fone sucks(i think we all know tht already). My fone is always on charge. it won't stay 30mins as a wireless router while on battery. Its a slide fone, and the connector can break easily. mine broke once and i opened up the fone to change it. The fone just makes me really mobile, i can connect to my remote servers while on the road and perform admin functions to solve client issues. lol i even moderate nland most times from my phone while on the road. I really havnt thought of what my next fone will be but it certainly wont be a nokia, because i think i've got the best nokia has to offer, in the n95 (the 5800 doesnt tickle my fancy, its cheap plastic look it a turn off).y one thing i really hate about the n95 is. . . its got so many made-in-china derivatives. i cant remember how many times people have asked if my fone is a "china phone" (maybe a thousand times). ![]() So. . . the n95 is a phone in its class and i'm loving it. |
copy only important stuff out of the card and format it. restore ur stuff back into the card. |
thts the friggin culprit tht has been robbing me off of my precious mtn bandwidth in the past 4 days. ![]() oh well, i think MTN is done with their "upgrade". funny, all the loopholes are still in tact so i'm wondering whether the loopholes were upgraded too. ![]() |
blackweaver:i have a rapidshare premium account and i queue up 3 to 4 gig of stuffs to download at nights. No, i am not under the 3gig limit, i didnt beat my way around anything tho. Its beyond my jurisdictions here to go further as per how i use mtn, my point is. . . MTN just rocks so the haters just need to lay away their frustrations and let this thing work for them. Please its makes no sense choocing starcomms over ANY ISP, i've been there before and its a no no. march881:due for waat? child birth? u be woman? ![]() here's my speedtest i just did https://www.speedtest.net/result/452455136.png dont work with the ISP name and location, thts just some proxy crap. |
my apologies, i don't know the coverage areas in Lagos. I'm in port harcourt. let's hope someone will soon come up with a list of coverage areas in lagos. march881:erm. . . lets pretend i didn't say that ![]() |
march881:yea tht's why i had to wait 3 days for mtn to get themselves together. march881:I'm afraid you're not within MTN's 3g coverage. Its not magic, u cant have a HSDPA modem outside the 3G coverage and expect 3G speeds. march881:noted. shay na me dey pay the bills. I'll rather keep spending the 4k on a Total Freedom account monthly and get unlimited 3g bandwidth 24/7 from mtn than spend 1 naira on starcomms By the way, i have an MDC 1x PCMCIA modem and a Sierra EVDO PCMCIA modem, both under starcomms network, to dash out, for anyone in ph. really tired of them calling me up begging me to renew subscriptions, and i really do not have the heart to tell them to stop calling (hell, its always a chic who calls, wht d'u expect? ) |
There's a topic on MTN 3g Data services. Please use that. Link is below. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-153476.192.html |
mtn 3g service is in a state of chaos now. i still get 350kb/s but just for some seconds and then it disconnects. It just disconnected as i was typing this so before i hit the "Reply" button i'll have to reconnect first. |
The typical Ex, i knew this dude hadn't changed lol. No fighting in this place y'all, 'cept its an arranged match (tell admin i said tht latter part and see wht i'mma smack in ur face ) |
The old telephone Ring Ring. I get to take calls in front of professional clients at times and i cant risk ruining first impressions with some nasty song as a ring tone. |
the 419er who sent with O8O3 i just a mumu because he still could have used the normal 0803. u can use any sender ID u want for bulk sms so be careful. sometimes this works for me in detecting if the text sent is a bulk msg. > look at the message center number used to send the text, or > try to reply the text, the sender id, IMHO, is parsed as a String and not as characters so u won't be able to reply via that sender ID. |
flyuche:flyuche sucks! hehe **winks at the dude and enters gear 6** yea yea, we both in ph but u cant catch meh ![]()
Note to people: HP and Acer sucks. The only good thing about HP is it's unique look
hey hey hey sista sista, whats with the hating on HP and Acer? some things might suck about some of their models, but heck something sucks about everything but tht dont mean everything sucks.
Note to people: HP and Acer sucks.
been wondering, what do they suck? ![]() |
i dont know if i'm the only one having this feeling but mtn is still the best isp i have used in ph. I have modems of ALL the ISPs in port harcourt, none better than mtn. Granted, there are downtimes. but trust me, the amount of data traffic one can pull off of MTN (assuming they worked for only 5 hours a day) is greater than the amount one call pull off of starcomms (if they were On 24 hours a day). |
In most forum software, when u wonno modify stuff, u have to add a reason for such modification. On the modified post everyone will get to see "last modified by Dual Core on 10:45pm Feb 13 2009; Reason: i just felt like doing it so buzz off and don't leave a trail, oh well the main reason is i already got a val for tomorrow so i'm canceling my request for an impromptu val" Certainly not one of the best reasons to modify a post. Point is, I don't see the "Modify" button's exit as a way forward, in any way. |
mmmmmmm, i need an ear to usb converter. u know? something cute i can plug into one of me ears then connect a usb device. Kazuya, oya! Kazuya! font size 13pt? c'mon our eyes aint tht bad. |
hehehe, 7 days. oh starcomms, the good ol'days. |
Dual Core:oh ma diaaaaaaaaz, where did tht come from?! Seun!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come hia! ![]() ![]() for real i didnt type tht, ![]() |
Kindly go back to the OS tht came with tht HP-DV thingy (Ms Vista). There's no sound driver compatible with WinXP for the DV6000. First mistake u made was getting a pavilion, second mistake was using avast, third mistake was downgrading to xp. For ur next laptop (oh yes tht pavilion won't last ) please don't be carried away by the "Entertainment PC" rave, get a machine.javascript:void(0); To fix things, go back to vista, then get all the drivers from HP.com or look for someone else with a dv6000 (the chances are 99 in 100. i think i'm exaggerating) and copy the "SW Setup" folder from him/her. but if u don't care about sound on a computer, like me (FFS i got a home theater, tht's enof noise already, i dont see the use of speakers on lappies, they just make 'em heavier! rofl), then stick with the XP on tht thing. youmour:due to the "HP factor" ![]() Please dont call HP customer care for this problem, they have a default answer. So if u call them for this, the crazy chic will just press the programmable button and the answer will play, at the end it gives u 4 seconds to say "okay thanks" and call drops ![]() Cheers, sorry i have a naughty sense of humor so i tend to play even wen ur lappy is on fire. (hence the World's worst techie Award).Cheers ciao ![]() |
The good days of starcomms are over. If u ever want to get value for ur rs premium, use mtn. I'm not talking about any tricks. Here's how i go about mine. I get a new mtn sim, recharge up to N2500 on it, subscribe for their nite plan internet package. Get an rs premium frm rs for abt N1200. Then do all d downloads 4rm 10pm at nite. Be sure to prioritize ur downloads because u got a 3gig limit. To get max results, use a hsdpa modem. My speed doesnt go below 300kb/s on full throttle. |
what the hell? dude is this some craze or what? You spewing up all that crap just to tell people that they can do yahoo voice chat? u telling people to break this, break that, cut this, cut that, well u should think about cutting all your crap. People can use yahoo voice chat if they have a headset and a microphone. Its being free is not by any god-forsaken trick, its a free service by yahoo! and just check out the responses of people. pathetic. |
nothing like best antivirus. different antibiotics for different ailments. different antivirus apps for different virus beefs. just use wht works in a given situation. i don't use any though, tht's because i don't move about much on the net and those so called antivirus apps just mess up my keygens and cripple ma stuffs no flash drives come near any of my boxes. no removeable media (except mine) get to have direct contact with my clean boxes. well yesterday i was away from my laptop and a chic inserted a flash drive and double clicked the drive to open it, thereby ending my laptop's autorun-free life. i'mma fix tht today. (with the help of some anti virus app, ofcourse. but after tht, they going off) Tip: When opening flash drives or any removeable media, do not open the drives directly. Explore the drive. |
eyonigger:i'm trynna mimic the expression on Iice's hubby's face when he reads tht line, if he ever gets to. or or or or |
adanny01:u needed a Phd holder to tell u that? MTN still has issues with billing. From experience, the 24 hour and nite plans have flaws. A few minutes prior to expiration of any of these two plans, just start pinging any site to keep the connection alive. on expiration, u'll get the normal expiration text, but ur connection still remains active for one more hour (if u dont disconnect). Talking about downloads, i do an average speed of 210 kb/s at nights and 100 kb/s during the day. i think that's fair enough. |
Ex Inferis:the "EX" i've always known won't reply like this, rather he'll spew up a post with not less than 15 lines telling Hiplus some things tht'll make a man cry. whaddaya know? well big brurv iron man "EX" has changed. ![]() |
oh there was a faulty screen. i didnt know. |
