Lagos will always be dear to my heart, I came to Lagos with 5000naira in my pocket, a Ghana must go of clothes and not sure of a roof over my head, but with God by my side, and 6 years later, my life has done a complete 360 for the better.
God bless Lagos.

I honestly feel the person parading as Buhari is a body double. If I remember correctly, Buhari was rumored to have passed away and even his wife was denied access to him, it was said he came back from London crying. There are a lot of things that are going on that don’t just seem righ. Can someone get a sputum or hair sample make we run DNA tests. |

Ritchiee: Reason why we have brown roofs otherwise Yorubaland would have been like Dubai.Do you remember when everybody paddled their canoes themselves,we were still the best side..if regionalism or break up comes, you will still be willing to be refugees in Yorubaland because we will still be more developed than you are.Okay what made you have brown roofs like Yorubaland, your master? Master? This mentality is the reason why Africa has continued to crawl when she should be in space. My brother no one is anyone’s master, our differences should be our strength, rather that is what is holding us down. Change ur way of thinking. |

Asowari: but if the Igbo's men are so wise how come they have not use there wisdom to developed the east. Develop the east? With the exception of Lagos, which other state in Nigeria is more developed than eastern states? You should bear in mind that these states bore the brunt of an evil civil war but no bullet was fired in other parts of Nigeria. What followed after the civil war was a willful conspiracy against the easterners to “cut” their wings by giving everyone 20 pounds to start live over. You most definitely need a history lesson. |

Aphrodite007: Ok I understand.
Some of us didn’t need to write IELTS Cos our WAEC hep’d us, so a lot of wannabe nurses had to write the IELTS.
Please check your time frame, you got your job 4 years ago yeah, did it occur to you that maybe, just maybe, the system gets tougher as the years go The only way to remain in the UK is if you go back for a PhD (lol you will just get 3 more years) or you marry a citizen. The OP should be commended for even warning people about getting married just for papers cos not many people use the PhD route. I didn’t suggest in anyway that I got my job four years ago, whatever the process is now, that is what I went through to get registered. Actually, the system has been made easier because combined IELTS test scores are accepted now, unlike when I did mine. Shalom! |

[quote author=Aphrodite007 post=65347815]Nye nye nye!
This is so condescending! So. You didn’t have it in mind to work in the Uk when you went to study right? It was your spirit that applied for the job, paid for the English tests and showed up at the interviews?
Madam/Oga, I know the stress that many friends of mine went through to work at the NHS, only 3 got in out of 7, and the 3 wrote their English tests more than 4 times so please keep your condescending attitude to yourself.
We are trying to let people know that there’s nothing in the UK for them, and all you’re doing is rubbing it in their faces that studying should be the aim, excuse me, you are in a country where they don’t study and they get begged to work, studying is not sweet, it’s a means to an end. So please allow us enlighten as many people as possible on the disadvantages of burning millions of naira with no return.
Thank you
Misinformation was the last thing on my mind when I wrote my response, rather I wanted to puncture the writers statements because he generalized it. There could be someone like me who can take advantage of the system but reading such would definetly put the person off. So all I did was to provide a dissenting voice to the writers statements.
As to getting a job in the NHS, I took IELTS once in Nigeria as part of application for the program and my score was good enough to see me through the Nursing registration, so I don’t really understand what you are saying. |

laydoh: wtf, this is the first time am hearing this, igbos are the most educated in nigeria?you must definitely be a pig. There are only two reasons why anyone would argue an issue ad hominem; one being crass ignorance and the other being pure foolishness. I asserted my opinions which I believe are factual and this imp retorted to calling names? Put sentiments aside and try to have factual arguments. |
Politics › Re: Igbo Intimidating Buhari With Biafra To Get Appointments – Sagay by dubbiskelly(m): 3:20pm On Feb 24, 2018 |
midolian: Obviously..
But Sagay needs not to worry..Buhari is super-good at handling them. He handles them the same way they handle their businesses (in pipu's land)
What annoys me most about them is, even if you make them occupy 95% of these positions, it only tells on those given the appointments. Nothing good is ever transferred to the grassroot in the end. Your statement reeks of myopic assertions. Igbos are the most educated and wealthy tribe in Nigeria, despite the ploy to render them handicapped after the civil war. The north on the other hand didn’t bear the brunt of a civil war and her sons have ruled this country for the greater part of her independence, yet the region is still so backward. An average Igbo man/woman has seen at least one relative through school and education is the key to unlocking potentials. |

EsotericMonk: Broh I don't think this calls for insults, his thread was more or less specific for students and general employment opportunities. We know that the NHS is experiencing acute shortage of personnel and so health workers have it easier accessing jobs in the UK (although the Tier 2 visa is another headache entirely). I think it would have been better to laugh it off and move, since as a professional, you know better about your field. Ignoramus simply means an ignorant person, so I don’t think i was insultive in any way. I only pointed out that h is ignorant of what he was talking about. |
