Evina: I won't argue about the cost because I indeed wasn't sure. But regarding the unprofessional service meted out to patients by your colleagues, you very well know I am totally correct! Well the undeniable fact remains that there are bad eggs in all professions, and not just in nursing. |

Evina: This is good. Passion is good. It makes you go the extra mile.
Last resort in my earlier post because it is cheaper to train as a Nurse in comparison to obtaining a B.SC. My good friend, itz obvious your statements are based on inference rather than facts. Schools of nursing are much expensive than government universities. The last tution I paid back in 2007 was 70k+. Do your research well and get your facts right. |

Evina: Nurses in Nigeria, especially the Government owned hospitals are HORRIBLE!
They are rude, temperamental, unwilling to help and act like you owe them a huge favor- on top money wey you dey pay!
Don't tell me they are human too! That's cow dung cos the profession is service to humanity and YOU OUGHT TO KNOW THAT BEFORE CHOOSING TO BE PART OF SUCH NOBLE PROFESSION!
Truly, many go into it ONLY as a last resort! Last resort you say? Well I don't know about others but I speak for myself. Nursing was never a last resort for me, I actually gained admission into the university immediately after my sec school but I had to drop it midway into the first semester to go to a nursing school. Do I need mention what a ride it has been? |

gunpoint: You yourself said a good number of Nigerian nurses struggle, thats not a statement that can be made about any nurse here in Australia. But i will not argue with you, you been the nurse will surely known much better than me and i don't mean that in a sarcastic manner. Just advise the OP. I gave him the bit i know which you have now proven right/wrong Is there any category of workers that don't struggle financially in nigeria? Struggle in this sense does not mean inability to live their day to day lives and pay their bills. Rather what I mean is that after paying bills, most don't have much left, which is normal with over 80% of nigerian workers. |

tohpahz: Lolzzzz seriously in this nigeria, there would never be a time where bns nurses would be more grounded dan rn nurses. Mark my wrds.leave all this Fg something . nd yes am going for my bns soon just for d cert. . Added advantage. My dear Itz not about being grounded or not, people learn on the job, what matters is the worth of your qualification. Any good job opening will pick a greenhorn Bsc or Masters holder over the most experienced nursing school graduate. |

gunpoint: Unless you have a path to leaving the country, not advisable. Nursing is near useless in Nigeria. But if you ever move overseas, with short conversion courses, you will be minting money with it What evidence do you have to back up your strong statements? It's true that a good number of nigerian nurses struggle financially as is common in most workers, however that does not mean that nursing does not pay. I worked as a nurse in Lagos for about five years and was making more money than many people thought was possible, it all depends on where you work. I once went for an interview where the start pay for nurses was over 500k and there are lots of places like that around.

Bhanjea: Obviously from your post above, you re either a nurse with degree or probably u re just a person that is more grounded on what people say around you, without you examining ur resolution. It's so funny when u regard a nurse that attends school of nursing as a local nurse but you av failed to recognise the fact that this school of nursing nurses are: 1. More practically oriented compared to the university nurses 2. Much more sought after in oversea countries than the university nurses 3.This school of nurses are mostly the ones the graduate nurses run after during their clinical rotations while in training and while practising to cover their flops. Actually,I can't blame people like you because, the system values theory more than practical. How many clinical hours do the so called graduate nurse have?,u can bet it with me that its not up to the numberof theory hours, that's why many patients are dying in our hospitals ,since we have neglected praticals and we re jumping into the book oriented nursing that produced people like you So please don't refer to them as local nurse, they just decided to choose that pathway for their nursing licensure or u tell me what the essence of a bnsc degree in nursing is without you passing the nursing council exams and both the "local" and the graduate nurse do sit for the exams to attain a smiliar qualification to practise Saying that nursing school graduates are more sought after than degree holders abroad is a huge misconception and a white lie. Infact the minimum entry requirements for nurses now is a degree |

My first car was a Year 2000 Honda accord(baby boy) which I bought and shipped direct from the US. The only things I did were the normal servicing and adding air to the tire when necessary cos the car was in an almost new state as the mileage was barely 45000. The car is still being enjoyed by the person who bought it.

Arogunmasa: Reminds me of Arrow of God. Ezeulu, the chief preist of Ulu. Leave God to fight his battle pastor. Elijah did similar when he challenged the prophets of baal to the supremacy fight. Although God can work without any human input, He always wants us to rouse Him by our words. The Red Sea was not parted by the rod of Moses but by the spirit of God, however it we still required for Moses to stretch out his rod. You need to give more time to studying the word. |

You obviously don't study the scripture, cos if you do, you would have known that even men of God like Elijah cursed. Imagine how pained our Lord Jesus was that He cursed a tree. A closed mouth is a closed destiny, so you need to start cursing ngwa ngwa. |
