Highest paid job is relative. comes and goes with the individual. what will work for Mr.A might fail for Mr.B even at the same input. i will say everyone should discover his or her path, not the Mob mentality of "highest paid" profession |
No doubt Kenny and D1 have paid their dues in the industry, and their "Investment" ( that's how i see it) have not been disappointed. but isssue here is centred around the TV/Radio programmes they love to dominate and are identified with. Personally, i think the issue speaks for itself. D1 himself once acknowledged (in an interview with Dynamix magazine) the popular public perception about him and keke gracing the TV/radio programmes, but went ahead to say he's doing what he enjoy's and will not quit the scene because the public feels he's too old for the job. now that really sucks! i remember asking myself if they were presenting for themselves or for the benefit of the public. now if your target audience feels you are outdated, why sacrifice professionalism on the alter of Ego by insisting on doing the presentation? Guyz, the duo of keke and D1 are very much aware of how the public views their mischievious and nuisance on air, pride and Ego just wont let them pass the baton. Reality is their shows have lost considerable audience as the likes of sound city, video walls, hip TV and others have taken over. note my words, the "Life begins at fifties" will sooner than later get kicked out |

whooooooooooooooooooooooosh! this is getting really nasty. ok, Abuja nairalanderds, Where una dey? let's not be left out. M park wont be a bad venue. |
@ Afam, u have left issues to chase shadows.your example of aso rock is nowhere near this issue. we are talking about lisensed coporate venture (dully recognised by Law)siphoning people's fund here. and not a domestic "gentleman" agreement as in the example you used. if the post had mentioned the Gamblers by Wuse shopping Plaza duping people, you will have had every right to call them stupid. but can they be called stupid for venturing into a legally backed outfit which had all the perks of a coporate identity? Maybe if someone promises to make you the president of Nigeria in 6 months if you paid him N2M and after 6 months you are no where near Aso Rock you will turn around and blame anyone that have ever seen the person that made such a promise to you.

read up my first response to this topic, i asked if these people were faceless. over to you, is this wonder bank a mere gambimg house? No, most people invested because they had due backing of the Law and relevant Authorities. so if their investment goes awry, then the Authority's and by extension the Government should be blamed for lisensing a fraudulent venture. i noticed you Largely ignored the salient issues i raised and choose to dwell on trivialities. i've followed your posts, and with due respect i will start exchanging Abusive words with u here. now incase you are not clear with my early post, what i was trying to say is that the arrow of blame points in both directions (Investors and Government) because this case is not new, and the antics in every case of this nature are almost similar. so the people should take a slap on the wrist for falling to a fruad with a large history. But it still does'nt and certainly can't excuse the inefficiency of the government and it's agencies. so what efforts did u make in alerting the public either via your blog or any other means to alert the public you are quick to call stupid for falling prey to "wonder bank" and it's proprietors you have known since 2001\2002? once more afam, you are not saying any thing to convince any intelligent person on why we should'nt lay the heap of blame at the doorstep of the government. if you have anything new, post a response and let's take it up from there, and be sure you address issues please. @ denex Good thinking. there will always be idiots no doubt, but it stil does'nt excuse the fact that somepeople have not been doing their Jobs. are you trying to tell me that we should accept this kind of situation simply because it has happened in other societies? i am not saying people should be arrested on suspicion to commit crime as you said, but Checks and Balances will certainly go a long way to checkmate large scale fraud of this nature. Cheers |
denex:and what is your point exactly? |
@ Afam, u still are missing the point here and infact have not said anything reasonable to convince any sound minded individual on why investors should be TOTALLY blamed for their misfortune. Law they say is made for the man, and not man for the law. Now how was this guy able to operate since the 2001\2002 u knew his scam network?( chances are that he has been operating longer before then). will u howbeit now admit EFCC\ICPC\ and the Nigerian police should be blamed for "unleashing" such a terrorist on an unsuspecting public for close to a decade who is getting bolder because of the lapse in our security system? my dear afam, i will also blame you for not using your intellect and advantages at your disposal to help bring this man to book. afterall, you knew him since 2001\2002 and even had the "rare opportunity" to speak with him on phone. u owe it to this society as a good citizen and as enshrined in our constitution to do help nail this man. therefore, i will put it to you that you have no Moral Justification WHATSOEVER to come on a public forum like this and blame people whose interest you and the government you are trying so hard to defend failed to protect. (no offence or insult intended) ok, so CBN did newspaper publications to say don't invest in wonder banks abi? enh ehh! did i hear an applause?NONSENSE! so what about my uneducated granny that can't read a newspaper or comprehend any media information? do you now see why an outright removal of such a dangerous man from the system is the appropriate thing to do. Government owe it a duty to protect it citizens from such a man (Even the gullible should be protected). the mere fact that ran disclaimers is enough evidence that they saw a round peg in a square hole. so what next did they do? ABOSOLUTELY NOTHING. they simply ran the disclamer and hoped or expected my suya man to see it and be informed.it makes perfect sense. right? now u mentioned he's probably registered as an internet and along that lined company. ok ok wait, it still falls back on the same government that an office is registered for one thing and used for another. it is a shame that CAC cannot do some monitoring of registered ventures to ensure strict compliance with the purpose which the outfit was registered for. see, i can go on and on, but will just have to stop here and wait for you to give me a sound reason on why lazy and greedy people should be entirely blamed for falling victims to such fraudsters. am i justifying or making excuses to the victims? NO. what i have a problem with is that you seem to think Government should be absolved of any wrong doing. |
ist, arrgue it back and fro, regulatry agencies\government share a whole lot of blame in issues like this because the bulk stop at their table. who will prosecute the so called, bank? EFCC or ICPC? now what stoped them from initially Clamping down on these "Wonder banks" if they were alive to their responsibilities? someone here mentioned CBN circulating Disclaimers. my response to that will be is it enough to just circulate disclaimers and then go to sleep? are these institutions @ large or untouchable? weather we like to admit it or not, some people have not been alive to their duties. one would think these institutions are meant to protect public (depoditors) interest, so someone coming here to try and absolve these agencies of any blame is complete rubbish. , then to the so called depositors, Haba! if the government has falied, then u owe it to yourself to protect your interest. Umannah umannah was a big stories in the 90's. y must history always repeat itself? |
@ menyi Angele101 said it all. i will still however ask you to please state David mark's achievements while he served as minister of communications and as military administrator of Niger state. did you say he is loved by his people? Hmmmm, even the devil has advocate(s)! |
lola baloo:allow him go. the guy has run out of his illogical arguments. one of his posts said something about Koro's camp hoping for a run off between fashola and koro so that they will put a "winning"plan into motion.what makes them think Tinubu\fashola's camp are not envisiaging this move and are putting together a counter-plan? or does koro posses the monopoly of strategizing? when Lewa raised some good points i was hoping he will address, he suddenly turned soft asking lewa if koro has snatched his girlfriend, leaving the issue in point.was it only me that noticed he was empty and had been firing blanks only to back off at the sight of an "atomic bomb"? he also chose to ignore the questions on the authenticity of koro's academic background which makes me doubt the athenticity of his claims.i must also point out his choice of words and manner in responding to questions which i would term as verbal assault. haba! if he does this online, what would he not do if he had acess to them folks? he is clearly proving right folks who called koro a thug.afterall, by their fruits, u shall know them. if this are the kind of folks that sorround koro, we can then imagine the kind of person koro is and know exactly why we should vote him in as governor.GOD FORBID! eko oni koro. i doubt if femilagy really know's koro well or got a good brief before stepping into public domain with his "koro for Gov" project. now to the who will rule lagos. i dare say nobody can give an accurate prediction. Politics and Economics have been know to fool world experts and go contrary to expectations repeatedly.different factors usually come into play in last moments of decision. |
[This is Koros biography Education:Bachelor of Science and Master of Public Administration @fenilangy what year did he graduate? anytime between 1999 and now? |
one day, cars will run on water. Bank PHB ad. someone really put a lot of thinking and creativity in to that ad. |
someone should tell chris okotie to go on air and dazzle allan little, tim sebastin and all of them. if for nothing else, to show the world that not all Nigerian presidential aspirants are clueless or butcher onyibo! |
Nice post and commentries going on here.someone should please start a thread on "why do most proposals end up in the thrash can"?( especially in Nigeria) |
h there, please does anyone know's the official website of the recently concluded survival africa and survival south africa. please give ne a hint, and sorry for the digression. thanks |
i have sent u a mail. i could work with u. |
has donald duke infiltrated NL? i mean are his campaign managers on here? na wa oh. |
look on the commercial side bro, ever heard of the word blackmail? ![]() this might be ur chance oh. |
dennylove:listen to your self. do you think we run a monarchial system in nigeria? |
Chxta:sorry oh. well, it's for the likes of you that national open university of nigeria was established.if the status of your degree worries you so much, try and enrole. hopefully, you will make a first class this time if you play less. Seun:very well. you could also take this campaign futher by also educating the same employees that many of our 2.1's and first class degree holders don't deserve their degree and might not be good for business either. Chxta:my point exactly. people should be encouraged to get and be their best. not buy degrees, flash it around and look down on folks who are being themselves by being honest about their educational status. Bolarge:thank you. i spotted "integrity" there in your quote. you will agree that not bribing or sleeping with lecturers as most of our undergraduates\graduates do\did to get high grade is integrity. and ending up with an unmerited certificate is certainly not integrity in the true sense of the word. |
ok, it's been said before. would you employ someone who bagged an unmerited 2.1, or a merited 3rd class. i can convieniently tell everyone on this forum that about some 60-70% of those intimidating credentials you see are in truth unmerited. those of us that schooled in nigeria know there are people we have never seen in school, but ended up somehow in our year class book. i know of a nigerian celebrity i never saw for a split second during my school days in UNIJOS, but was suprised when i learnt he was suppose to be in my class, and the guy confidently grants interviews telling nigerians he "studied" and "graduated" maybe with a 2.1. WHAT CHEEK! i have a 2.2, but there's NOTHING new in my field of study a 2.1 or even a ist class holder will teach me. ok, here, do we even realise people attend school under different conditions? and have it occured to anyone that Flashy degrees doesnt always translate into excellent Performers? so elumelu bagged a 3rd class? hmmm. and yet he carried UBA to a good height, did a good merger Job, and many other M.D's who got 2.1's sank the banks under them. i don't encouraged mediocrity, but will certainly not celebrate a charlatan either. period! |

Odeku:you probably don't understand nigerian politics. the VP is wont be easily pushed off. don't forget most of the national assembly are his loyalist. plus that he has a big pocket that will convieniently match the presidency( dollar fro dollar) when the fight gets dirty( as it's likey to be). don't mistakenly compare the VP with the likes of Audu Ogbeh and others OBJ tossed aside at will. this is the beginning of a long battle. but note it down, the VP stays, or both he and OBJ will be impeached. |
everyone note this, if the VP goes down, OBJ will go right down with him. if obj is seeking a legitimate impeachment, he wont get it. the VP has the national assembly well covered and most of his loyalist are members of the national assembly who sources say are also compiling impecachment offences againt the president. let's not forget he will match the president dollar for dollar when it comes to bribing the senators. it's however a saga. lets wait and see |
now this is sad. i mean really sad.but with the way he carried on, i knew something would happen to him sooner or later. i did not anticipate him dying outrightly though. but what i dont seem to grasp is that steve is supppose to have a full medical crew that will of course will be off camera. so was his medical team sleeping? believe me, this is very emotional |
dakmanzero: spicy007:u sound vaque man. please be clear and let's take it up from there. |
good talk elampiro(funny name too). i think everyone should discover where he\she will fit in. and not be primarily motivated by work pay. there's nothing more fulfilling in the work industry than geting paid for doing something you enjoy. waking up every morning should give you a drive and excitement towards meeting the days work. i for one wont work where there is no obvious coporate competition. i.e the coca-cola and pepsi type. to my opinion, i think banks suffocate their staffs with too much work load. an issue no one has touched is that how well do married women and mothers who are bankers balance work and home? i know most new generation banks close between 7.30 and 8. of what use will all that money be if matrimonial fufillment is missing? and folks, the pay only looks good at first, but the oliver twist in every human being will surface sooner than later. simply put, earning that kind of pay will increase our social status. a banker must drive a good and well maintained car, live in a posh area, and others status which will take a tidy sum to maintain.and at the end of it all, the money in it self ceases to be a motivator. like i said before, just discover where your interest lies and work towards getting there. money certainly has its limits. cheers |
Nutter:@ nutter, am not obj's fan or hold brief for him,and while i dont particularly like his administrative style, garrulous/garrisson politics and flagrant disregard for court orders, i will tell you with every sense of conviction that i dont believe he's corrupt(at least financial corruption). are we forgetting he took a loan of a million naira in the early 80's which was facilitated by joseph sanusi the former CBN governor who was then with ist bank? that my friend was how his farm was acquired. need i tell you a million naira still held a lot of value at that time or that as former head of state, he could be given a loan on personal recognition without necessraily having collateral? the facts are there. OBJ is not my friend or some sort of icon figure i look up to, but coruption(financial) is certainly not one of his bane. we should please stay issue focused, and be objective in our analyses. |
beelyjay45:so lets answer this for me before the author sends in his response. 1. say am hoping to invest 500,000 2. don't exactly get your drift by having necessary capital and manpower for 4/5 months sustainance. 3. am based in Abuja. but will situate the farm at kuje as there will be no space facility and convienience to have it in town. been thinking of combining fishing and poultry, but like the author of this post, i have limited knowldege on starting. if you are a practical expert, maybe we can talk on a professional level. |
why are we all wasting time on a gist whose end can be predicted? i will tell you what. it's either he will be realased very soon and given a clean bill of health, (probably even apologised to), or he will still be realased and EFCC will tell us they are still investigating him. need no soothsayer to tell you his case with EFCC will then be layed to a tactical rest. there is no sincererity in all these politically motivated arrest. won' mo nko ti won se'.(them know wetin them dey do) . go and hussle for your daily bread and stop wasting strenth on a concluded issue. |
.Thanks. 08037863608
