eko ilee: That was grand oak dede, name old she and lack of historical knowledge.. and he's senile too..Baring the emergence of Google, you could lose your miserable life if it depended on the knowledge how Lagos came about. |
Ola Johnson: You keep deceiving yourselves thinking you're showing patriotism to your ethnic group, of all places, on Nairaland. Your cursing other ethnic groups or any person that has a different opinion from yours has become your regular trademark. Anuofia ne me ka o shi Ohanfia. Otule. I just have to unfollow this thread to avoid your show of illiteracy as the world now sees in the ESUT FOUR.If you really understood the meaning of the word - illiteracy, I am very doubtful you could have strung a sentence with the word in the manner you just did. You are a complete waste of the time biologically and otherwise. |
Lagos would have been what?. what an unrepentant bigoted soul you are. Lagos was a built city before Sir Louis Ojukwu migrated to south west. The most industrious peeps can't build a mere 600 meters bridge? What a shame.
Lagos would have been a mosquito-infested Lagoon baring the colonialists and federal government of Nigeria. In my previous post, I forgot to mention the colonialists. I guess it takes one drooling unrepentant bigoted soul to recognize another. |
kcjazz: First of all, the government is no longer in business of building monumental stuff especially with calls for federalism plus no money really, this is not 1970s anymore. Plus this is a road and doesn't affect the security or sovereignty of the nation so the FG can afford to play political games with it.What the hell are we still doing in Nigeria? I do not believe in federalism, whether true or false. We must go our separate ways so the meager resources from a place could be entirely used for development of such place. |
naptu2: In simple terms, it's got nothing to do with being the "exclusive preserve of the Federal Government". Anambra and Delta states can get permission from the Federal Government to build the bridge. The Badagry Expressway is an international highway (part of the trans-Africa Highway project). The Lagos State Government got permissionn from the Federal Government to rebuild the road (a 6 lane highway is being converted into a 10 lane highway + rail line and BRT lane). The states that built the airports simply got regulatory permission to go ahead. Have Delta and Anambra states sought permission to build the bridge?I try to avoid any comparison that will involve oranges against apples. There is no doubt that If Lagos State is either Anambra or Delta State, the latter sates would have done the same. |
FSU: Have you heard of a country called Botswana? Where is it located? Have you heard of Rwanda (Rwanda of 2013)? Have you heard of Switzerland, Austria and many other land-locked countries? How do all of these countries compare with Nigeria with ocean access? Please do not attempt to get the lapper civilized. In fact, Nigeria needs to be disintegrated so a person can avoid these avoidable nitwits. |
Ola Johnson: I know how people from your part of this country are in the habit of all cursing. Can't you be civil, even for once?It sucks to have you as a compatriot. One has to be civil with a civilized person not a drooling maggot. |
naptu2: Hahahahahahahaahahahahahahaha! Compare these two posts. You are better than the above post. I hope you are not insinuating that Asaba or Owerre airport should be slightly compared with MMA or NAA. |
Ola Johnson: You'll end this noise when the breaking up of the country, which you so much desires happens, happens then you'll realize how land-locked you're.What has land lock got to do with formation of a nation state? I guess you are locked up in the backwater to realize the best and fastest growing economy in Africa is located in a landlocked nation. What a dunce. |
naptu2: Lekki Airport?I am not talking about airstrips. You could have cited Asaba or even Owerri airport. Lagos would have been a mosquito-infested Lagoon baring the presence of the government of federal republic of Nigeria. |
There are certain things in Nigeria that fall exclusively within the domain of federal government of Nigeria. When federal government built MMA and NAA in Lagos and Abuja respectively, the OP would have inquired why respective states not build the airports. |
Why not demand for your own Nation state. Every region is clamouring for autonomy even Boko-Haram had in the past called for an independent state. Why is the over-sabi SW not willing to mince at least a small cry for their own Nation state?
I do not think it is nice to demand such human endeavor from pajamas cowards. |
The statement of Yoruba moving to PDP when Obasanjo was president accredited to Okoye is a scintillating truth. There was AD in southwestern region before Obasanjo came to power and AD died a sorrowful death as Obasanjo sat on the apex of Nigerian power. The moment Obasanjo exited the presidential scene, the party named ACN was born to perpetuate the tribally biased political jingoism which is a second nature to Yoruba peeps. |
BlackBaron: This is pursuant to Achebe's claim of massacres in the South West...Waiting for ACM et al. to back or deny with facts...You have just displayed one of the reasons Africans will remain behind the curve of development. Please desist from approaching issues of literary subject with a narrowed mind of preconceived notion. Were Abeokuta, Ibadan and Lagos in western region or not? Were Igbo and other easterners not killed in those cities during period in discussion in Achebe’s narratives? I guess your social decorum would have been undisturbed if Achebe had used the word – kill instead of massacre. |
Is there anything out of Nigeria worthy of positive discussion? Even Nairaland forum is epitome of nepotism where certain words are banned while others are not as long as it fans the management’s ethnic bias. |
The loudmouthed Oodua comedians that navigate to this forum to spew crap are plainly pitiable. Let me inform you that crude oil is a major issue in the economy because of the entity called Nigeria is still in existence. If Nigeria disintegrates today, crude oil will cease to dominate the discussions both in polity and economy. It is unfortunate that northern and southwestern regions of Nigeria have made crude oil the bedrock of their very existence on earth. The regions even moronically staged a war against eastern region and had continued with the spirit of the crude oil war cum civil war since after cessation of hostility between Biafra and Nigeria. It is very shameful and pitiful that the deluded humbugs from these regions swing into hypertensive mode the moment disintegration of Nigeria is mentioned. In some cases, they have been found as soothsayers preaching about nature of failed state in Biafra or landlocked terrain of Republic of Igbo land. I have always asked why these jackasses cry more than bereaves. |
Ogoni militant: my brother you are on your own in all these you are saying. Without the Igbos an Ijaw man would not have been president of Nigeria. You are just opening your mouth and talking like a fool. If you have personal problem with any Igbo man, you better go and settle it personally. To me you are just ranting on your own and you are not speaking my mind and the mind of many SS people. You came to this forum to creat more problem for the region. Even if you hate Igbos must you make it obvious? You guys should use your brain sometimes.Bro, please do not pay any mind to the zombie. Americans say stupidity can not be fixed. Apples do not fall far from the tree. The moronic free loader has claimed he\she resides in Abuja. I thought that could have been Yenegoa or any place in the creeks. Today in Nigeria, there are Lagos and Abuja yet the delusional dullard in “sakaguchi” could not fathom why the so-called crude oil money is used to develop those cities and not one block in the so-called Ijaw land. Sometimes it induces uncontrollable laughs to watch few deluded nincompoops from Ijaw talk about Igwe Ocha that was developed by the government of eastern region as if the city was developed by Ijaw. The so-called Ijaw drunkards would have searched within the creaks for a city developed through dividends from crude oil money. |
It is laughable to read from a person who claimed to have hailed from a formed ethnicity that have not even enjoyed victorious wrestling match talking about war. When men were men, Ijaw person has never won annual wrestling match in Rivers State. |
Iykopee: Then see urself as braindead for such blistering postulation.... U are mentally lazy from all indications... Ur fisher kins in d creeks are the laziest in south south... And stop selling the little landed properties u have to them Got it? and if war becomes d ultimate decider then, u have to stay on ur own coz as rivers man with igbo ancenstry, i cant assume u are my truest broda from ijaw land.Bro, please do not waste your precious time with the lazy screwball called sakaguchi. The irredeemable jackass was forced to wear Ijaw on this forum. When a person runs away from his\her forbearers, the person should not be regarded as compatriot. It sucks to share a country with a jerk such as sakaguchi. |
sakaguchi: Listen Mr, I did not start the argument of Nigeria dividing, you need to ask the OP if that is your problem. As unseating as Nigeria is now, the Ibos because of their vacuity are the worst hit. And hence shout at the top of their voice about why the country should divide. Well, I have no problem with Nigeria dividing, my problem is that there is an EXCESS BAGGAGE which everybody seems to avoid, if the Hausas and Yoruba consider the Ibos surplus to requirement (which ofcourse theyAs far as I am concerned, Ijaw is not an ethnic group in Nigeria. Ijaw is a derivation of what the Portuguese referred to people who settled at the bank of Oil River. It was not long ago the so-called Ijaw cried blood to Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Nupe and Kanuri to declare Igbo properties in Igwe Ocha as “abandon property”. Yet one malnourished free loader has the effrontery to arrogate the word-lord to him\herself. Anybody who changed Ama-ikiri or Amakiri to Amachree does not deserve a pint of free air. If Nigeria will disintegrate today, some group of people will cease to exist. When you idiotically mentioned the tribes that made up certain nations, I realized you are completely lost on the issue of nation state. When you mentioned USA and other countries, you should have asked your bloody self which culture is supremely dominate in USA or Russia or Japan? I do not give a hoot if you ferment Republic of Ijaw but you must stop dreaming about Niger Delta because such does not exist and will not exist. By the way, while you are on it about Republic of Ijaw, you must remember there should be serious war of expansionism which creeks can not sustain. |
sakaguchi: What!If you are not uselessly drunk like a fisherman, you must be delusional anemic. In one instance you seemed to be twisted out of human form because nation states need to be formulated along tribal delineation and yet in another your idiocy kept pushing you to shout Igbo land should be landlocked in case of Nigeria's disintegration. I guess you have geographical allergy. Please identify your shameful ethnicity so that you can be treated accordingly. It is culturally shameful for a Nigerian to run away from the domain of his\her forbearers. I did not know individuals such as you still exist in Nigeria when it is politically fad to establish one’s cultural identity. When you mentioned USA, RUSSIA, CHINA and JAPAN on the issue bordering on ethnicity; I realized you are an empty barrel. I do not need to engage a dumbass such as you in intellectual exercise. |
sakaguchi: Foolish igbos, since you all are so obsessed with Nigeria dividing, why not be proud to staying alone with your red uninhabitable and useless land. The south East will suffer more as they will be like the Kurds of the Middle-East or the Roma of Eastern Europe.I thought Nigeria has got rid of ignoramuses such as the poster of above junk. I really do not know if actually there is anything such as Niger Delta. The delta I know is formed by rivers which included Niger, Benue, Imo, Urashi and Utamiri. If Nigeria disintegrates today, there are possibilities of Republic of Igbo land, Republic of Ogoni land and even Republic of Ibibio, Efik and Annang (Republic of AnnEfiBio). If you are smarter than a donkey, which is hard to believe, you must jump off the back of so-called Niger Delta and represent your forbearers adequately for once in your miserable life. |
INNO18: Ijaw Clown on the loose...You are more clownish than Ijo clown. Irredeemable lappers such as you have given Ndigbo bad name by dabbling into issue they practically know zero thing about. Have you received any money or even financial promise to support any candidature of non-Igbo? A person wonders how malnourished low life such as you arrived at conclusion that Ndigbo and Ohanaeze have settled for financial gains instead of the so-called Igbo presidency. |
percipi1: Good that you have admitted that ancient Igbos did not have in place a system of government, otherwise, they would have evolved into city states. There is nothing wrong harbouring imperial ambition and the Igbo have attempted same during the Nigerian civil war by annexing the Midwestern state. I don't see anything wrong about that.It is plain idiocy to refer to village empires that dotted landscape of what is known today as Nigeria as empire. I thanked God Ndigbo adopted communal democracy. What happened in colonial Nigeria represents the silly fanfare surrounding the Nobel Prize or Rhode Scholarship. Most Europeans that visited Africa were under the influence of monarchical government and thrilled to see some Africans imitating them. This is the reason the so-called village empires gained notoriety over the communal democracy-representative governance practiced by Ndigbo. One wonders why the same Europeans jettisoned the monarchical government that fermented silly empires to embrace representative government practiced by Ndigbo before the advent of Europeans in Africa. |
INNO18: 2015 is around the corner... And while most ethnic groups are forming alliances to make sure they occupy Aso rock villa... My people(Igbos) are queing behind Jonathan for 2015. Even Ohanaeze which is supposed to represent Igbo interest... Has been wooed possibly by financial interests to the Jonathan camp. The only Igbo man that seems to be reasoning through his head and not A.nus so far is rochas. Igbos take it or leave it... After 2019(if Jonathan wins a 2nd time) Jonathan will leave us high and dry... And power will rotate between the North and Southwest for like another 50 years before they might consider giving us a VP post. Igbos have a saying that 'our own is our own, but my own is my own'.Jonathan is no doubt 'Our own' but definitely not 'My Own'. It's not too late to form an alliance with other Nigerians and 'Beg' for votes.. If we keep waiting for the presidential post to be handed to us on a platter of God...in the name of 'Zoning', then we should be prepared to wait forever. Although we might not win... But atleast it will go a long way to show nigerians that we're no longer 'Campaign material'.You are one of Igbo that brought shame to Igbo land. If you were within a mile where financial interest was considered or changed hand for the support of Jonathan’s presidential bid by Igbo, nairaland forum would have looked to you as a congregation of moronic numbskulls. The readiness of certain Igbo peeps to jump onto financial crap or money changing hand for Igbo’s political support has instigated the labeling of Ndigbo as “do anything for money” while the reverse is actually the case. Why Ndigbo are not multibillionaires if money flows to them from any political hut in Nigeria? The rules and procedures have been motto of Ndigbo in political trades in Nigeria. There are certain sections of Nigeria that are twisted out of political realism because since the civil war in Nigeria, they have been in power and march along the corridor of power with ease. It is apparently clear that 4years or possibly 8 years out power in Nigeria is not sitting well with them. If Jonathan’s next 4years in power will lead to disintegration of Nigeria, I say so it shall be. I hate the idea that certain nincompoops navigate to this forum to announce they are Igbo before vomiting craps from their silly mouths. Nobody is stopping the intellectual midgets such as you from embarking on the so-called Igbo presidency. If you are slightly serious about the so-called Igbo presidency, you should distance your behind from nairaland forum. Nigerian presidency is as hollow as wastepipe. |
I really wanted to stop reading when I got up to point, UMBC/Action Group alliance in 1961, but decided to see what the old chameleon will say further. I wonder where he was when Ahmadu Bello instructed elements of Nigerian army under the command of Lt Col James Pam to deal with the Tiv people who were supporters of UMBC. I had liked to hear this dude on his take about the Mobile Corporation hiring of JS Tarka, leader of UMBC, to sell Nigeria’s propaganda against eastern region or Biafra before the American public. |
Eko Atlantic: The weakness of your sinking tribal party(apga) makes you bitter.. I grabTo the contrary, I do not belong or sympathize with any political party in the jungle called Nigeria. Unlike you who is in deep tank for sectional party such as ACN, I care less. I guess the only thing you grab is tribal bigotry. |
Nobel Prize and Rhode Scholarship are gutter inventions as far as I am concerned. There have been six human beings (five Europeans and one Asian) that rejected the crappy Nobel Prize. Achebe would have been the first African to reject the gutter prize. |
The only political sophistication in southwestern region of Nigeria is found rigidly under tribal bias. The politics of southwest are sectional fueled by broad sense of tribal bigotry. |
