Politics › Re: Deportation Of Igbos From Lagos: Senator Ngige Speaks by Duru1(m): 12:30pm On Aug 02, 2013
I do not give a hoot about what Ngige has to say about deportation of Nigerian citizen, sane or insane, by Lagos State government led by Fashola. The act is unconstitutional, insidious and instigated by bigotry. In the capital city of USA, homeless destitute and mentally challenged individuals roam the city without molestation by government agencies. Yet the USA has the best facilities in the world that cater for people in such condition. Even it is still voluntary to seek refuge in such facilities.

Whether the people had anybody in Lagos State or not, the Fashola led government has no humanitarian or constitutional authority to make a Nigerian citizen an illegal alien in his/her country. This is how Hitler started deporting German citizens from Germany.

In addition, Ndigbo must be very careful with any Igbo peep who work for or with any entity owned or initiated by Yoruba

naptu2: What powers did the President posses? That question was the cause of the January 1965 constitutional crisis, in which President Azikiwe refused to call on Tafawa Balewa to form the next government and ordered the armed forces to enforce his orders throughout the federation, by virtue of the fact that he was the Commander in Chief.
Even you also towed the line of childish innuendos and falsehood perpetrated by hacks. There was no constitutional crisis in January of 1965 in Nigeria. The issue was the conduct of 1964 census which led to political crisis during the polls towards the end of the year.

Even if we eventually break up, can Abia and Imo live in peace, can Benue and plateau live in peace, can Rivers and Bayelsa live in peace? The list is endless even within states, we have seen ethnic clashes here and there. These among others are the reasons y breaking up won't solve anything.

By the way, I am full blooded igbo man.
You must be ashamed of yourself to remotely insinuate that Imo and Abia State will still be in existence after the disintegration of Nigeria. This plank of reasoning compounds the problem Nigeria faces today. I am quite sure eastern region of Nigeria sounds like a space excursion to you.
I am Igbo like you. Tell me how Igbo will work as a country. What will be the fate of all Igbos in other parts of Nigeria including their investment? Do you think the countries that will emerge will protect them? Have you given a thougths to what is happening to Igbos in Ghana and cameroon; how they are being harrassed?

We will be harrased if and when Nigeria breaks up. Have you thought of being land-locked and its implications? The Niger Delta people will collect taxes on every dam import we make. What about ordinary foods?

When and how are you going to immediately replace the food stuffs coming down from Benue and the North? The yams, Tomatoes, onions and the rest?

What about our population explosion? How soon can we all cope if we all head home?

That apart, when you analyse the economy of scale and large market (which Nigeria can give better than your small Bifra/Ododuwa/Arewa); you will see we are better off staying together.

Ask yourself, why Ecowas, European Union and all the numerous trade zones of the world are coming together. It is only for the sake of big economic market. Now the market we have as being one country you are dividing. Are you aware China is China becuase of the size of their Economy? That is one advantage they have over America and Europe. Population counts when it comes to Economic power.

A country with large population will always attract investment. Such country can dictate the terms of such investments. A small country atracts no investment.

being very honest. Are you aware that Igbo land and South South is more corrupt that Northern part of the country when it comes down to individuals? How are we going to battle this corruption as a country.

I particular, till date, two individuals still pockets all the monthly allocation to my L.G.A. and no one can challenge them. That was how rotten Igbo land can be with our OMATTA mentality.

I see no better place in Igbo as a country than we can get in Nigeria. We can all make Nigeria work for all of us
You have indicted the basis of your argument through the first paragraph. How does being a part of Nigeria prevent harassment of Igbo in Ghana and Cameroon? It is very unfortunate you claimed to be Igbo yet showed damnable ignorance on the geographical delineation of Igbo land. In fact, you are one of those Igbo peeps that compromise the very existence of Igbo people. I honestly do not think Igbo land wants a son or daughter such as you.

When Nigeria disintegrates, please I urge you not to show face in Igbo land because, according to you, it is landlocked. I guess you need to know that one of viable economies in Africa is at home in a landlocked country.

It is unfortunate you dabbled into the so-called economic zones. I should not remind you that countries in the so-called economic zones developed independently and agreed to trade with each another as different entities. If you want to create economic or trade zones of former Nigerian countries or Nigerian Union, I say fine but you should desist from injecting empty argument that can undermine the nationalistic spirit of people looking for true unity that is fueled by identical culture and tradition.

Let me tell you, Nigeria is created to have people who fortunately found themselves in corridor of power to embezzle as much as they could without empathy. Nigeria is a joke and does not entice any sense of patriotism. I had rather have Republic of Igbo land that is struggling economically with bunch of patriotic individuals than Nigeria full of honey with despicable bas.tards.

ebamma: I just read a thread on the frontpage in which governor gabriel suswan claimed that any state that doesn't have igbos in it economy will suffer, and i laughed out loud, its now i realised that our politicians are more clueless than i thought, maybe he forgot that 80percent of igbo's investment in states is in the trading sector, spare parts dealers, electronic shop owners, chemist owners etc which cannot make our break a state's economy, cos those services are provided based on demand, even if igbos dont do it other tribes will still take advantage of the demand and start such businesses, how much tax can a spare part dealer or electronic shop owner pay into a state coffers?, we should stop lying to ourselves please.
Another laughable point made in that topic was that igbo's investment in abuja is 600 trillion, just to remind u nigeria's budget for 2013 is 4.93 trillion, which means that igbo's investment in abuja is almost 11 times of nigeria's budget, maybe all properties and companies including the aso rock villa, and the national assembly are owned by igbos. We should stop lying to support our claims please, nobody hates the igbos, if the yorubas so hated u guys will the have let u owned properties worth the so called 300
trillion on their soil, although im not yoruba but i have never heard that some igbo traders have been slaughtered by yorubas or that a yoruba landlord refused to rent his house to someone simply because he is igbo, we should stop this show of hate and discord please.
God bless my niger delta

You could have done better than you have shown with the title of this thread if you had removed “Igbo” from it. The drivel would have sounded lively and frankly debatable if it goes without Igbo.
Politics › Re: US Report Cautions Nigeria Of Civil War by Duru1(m): 1:18pm On Aug 01, 2013
camelus: A new report entitled ``Nigerian Unity in the Balance” authored for the United States Army War College has, again, warned Nigerian leaders to beware of another civil war or an outright break-up following what it called ongoing divisive trends in the country.

The report released by the Strategic Studies Institute of War College was written by two former American servicemen, Gerald McLaughlin and Clarence J. Bouchat. McLaughlin is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College while Bouchat is also an adjunct professor at the U.S. Army War College (USAWC)
The report, whose foreword was written by the Director, Strategic Studies, Institute and U.S. Army War College Press, Professor Douglas Lovelace, observed that divisive forces were becoming more stronger than uniting forces in Nigeria, warning that unless this was reversed, Nigeria`s existence could be jeopardised.

According to the report, “Parochial interests created by religious, cultural, ethnic, economic, regional, and political secessionist tendencies are endemic in Nigeria. Under such stresses, Nigerian unity may fail.

“Should Nigeria’s leaders mismanage the political economy and reinforce centrifugal forces in Nigeria, the breaks to create autonomous regions or independent countries would likely occur along its previously identified fault lines,” the report warned.

“Having already experienced one brutal civil war, Nigeria is at risk for a recurrence of conflict or dissolution, especially since some of the underpinning motivations of the war remain unresolved,`` the report observed, detailing many fault lines speeding up disintegrative tendencies in the country.

“Indeed, East Timor, Eritrea, Croatia, and Somaliland indicate that the weakest point of failing states is along colonial borders. Of more interest for Nigerian unity is that this may also occur between regions separately administered by a common colonial power, as occurred between Malaysia and Singapore, and North and South Sudan, where differences proved irreconcilable after the departure of British administration. At least, some of the resulting regions and states of a possible Nigerian devolution may divide along such internal lines”, the report projected.

While conceding that Nigeria’s fate is primarily in the hands of Nigerians, the report noted that such could be positively affected by actions of the US, adding that “Nigeria’s future is in balance and the United States should help tip the scales.”

The report particularly warned that religious differences were taking the centre-stage in the emerging conflict situation in the country, disputing repeated reports that economic reasons were to blame for the insurgency and other conflicts in the country.

The Strategic Studies Institute (SSI) is part of the U.S. Army War College and is the strategic-level study agent for issues related to national security and military strategy with emphasis on geostrategic analysis.

Nigeria has never experienced any form of unity that flows from natural phenomenon. Politics › Re: There Is A Grand Design To Plunge Northern Nigeria Into Deeper Crises - Sultan by Duru1(m): 12:20pm On Aug 01, 2013
By Saharareporters, New York
The Jama’atu Nasir Islam (JNI), led by Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, today declared that there was a grand design to plunge Northern Nigeria – and by extension Nigeria – into a deeper crisis.

The Sultan, who is the leader of Nigerian Muslims, was reacting to yesterday’s bombings in the Sabon Gari area of Kano town and Saturday’s violent attacks in Borno State. The Sultan’s reaction was contained in a statement issued in Kaduna.

It stated: “JNI once again under the leadership of His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, the Sultan of Sokoto and the President-General, received with bewilderment the news of the orchestrated multiple bomb blasts which were reported to have occurred yesterday night, at Sabon Gari, Kano, Kano State resulting in collateral damages and many lives lost. We strongly condemn the inhuman and ungodly act in its totality as it is reprehensible, and we equally call for calm and restraint. As it has always been our prayers, whatsoever is the intent/motive of the perpetrators of these contemptible acts, they will never succeed insha'Allah.

“JNI is perplexed that this act of unleashing terror on human lives continues unabated, despite visible number of uncountable security check-points mounted all through Northern Nigeria. More worrisome is the fact that this beastly act of terror comes just 24 hours after unleashing same on fishermen and traders in Kaka and Kukawa Local Government Areas of Borno State, which also claimed many innocent lives and [the loss] of many properties worth millions of naira.”

The JNI further stated: “These repeated acts call for concerted introspection, as they again point to the fact that there is the urgent need for proactive and effective ways of addressing these precarious security upheavals presently being witnessed in the country. JNI is also worried and cannot understand what is really happening. The perpetrators should be fished out and punished in accordance with the laws of the land.

“While we send our condolences to the families of the bereaved, the Government of Borno and Kano States, their Royal Highnesses, Shehu of Borno and the Emir of Kano, we once again call on all concerned as a matter of urgency to nip in the bud future re-occurrences, which we don't pray for. As it is becoming more and more glaring to the right thinking person, there is a grand design to push the entire North into deeper crises and by extension the Nigerian federation.

“Therefore, we call on all Muslims to fervently engage in Du’a (prayer), that will bring an end to these nagging nightmares of insecurity in our great country and may Allah, the Most High, save us from the enemies of peace and development, whosesoever they may be, especially that we are in the most sacred days of Ramadan. Hence all Imams are to include this in their respective Al-Qunut (special prayers). Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!”

http://saharareporters.com/news-page/there-grand-design-plunge-northern-nigeria-deeper-crises-sultan
The above trash from so-called Sultan is arrant nonsense. I sincerely hope this would plunge Nigeria into crisis enough to lead to disintegration. It is plain act of sinister for the Sokoto Sultan to call only the Muslims to pray for the jungle called Nigeria instead of Nigerians. By the way, northern region of Nigeria is not inhabited by Muslim alone.

The above crap accredited to one sultan in Sokoto is nothing but a coded message to fellow Muslims.

Besides, Lagos won't be the first to transport ppl to their states instead of causing havoc to them selves by getting raped under the bridge, being introduced to Gang (robbers),, being used for rituals... and not causing havoc to the society by polluting it.

It is done in US.. So why crying out lord for God's sake?? I thought the Northerners were the one holding us back, i was wrong!!

New York City, Baton Rouge and San Francisco have all tried similar programs. New York City implemented its version in 2007, flying more than 550 homeless people back to their families in places like Paris, Orlando, and San Juan (the most popular destination), according to a 2009 article in the New York Times. Homeless advocates vehemently opposed the scheme. “What we’re doing is passing the problem of homelessness to another city,” Arnold S. Cohen, CEO of Partnership for the Homeless, told the Times. “We’re taking people from a shelter bed here to the living room couch of another family. Essentially, this family is still homeless.”

The poster of the above post exemplifies the unclad truth Nigeria is hopelessly in abyss. It defies simple logic that any jackass who could read still put up such article in defense of reckless idiocy perpetrated by Lagos State and agent of feudalism such as Fashola.

The program of change of city pertaining to homeless peeps in USA is strictly optional. It is not even state’s undertaking but cities that put up fare bills to homeless peeps willing to relocate to another city. The poster simply forgot that as New York City is paying transport fares of the homeless peeps to leave downtown for Atlanta, the San Jose is paying transport fares of homeless peeps to leave its downtown for New York City.

No state governor in USA can remotely think of forcefully deporting the citizen of country from home state to another. Any governor in USA that dreamt of idiocy can not survive more than one day in office.

SmartTalk: Ah, this good old chestnut. Well, it would be nice to know what oppression the Eastern minorities suffered considering that Adaka Boro himself - along with other Eastern minorities, which include Ken Saro-wiwa - got a scholarship from the Eastern government and was voted as student union leader by the" Igbo majority" in his university, a status Saro-wiwa complained he was deprived of in the University of Ibadan. I would really love to know what exactly this "oppression" entails. Besides, anyone who knows history knows that Adaka's action was a Potemkin political move planned earlier with his Northern partners who he saw as "the only ally of the Ijaw" and his dream of having a Niger Delta "strictly for the Ijaws" was a Hitleresque idea. It would be interesting to hear the opinion of other Niger Deltans in the light of the recent news of Ijaw militants claiming responsibility for the killing of Itsekiri citizens.

No matter, I said not all territories of the former Eastern region should be included in Biafra. It is up to them really. That's what referendum is meant for. Anyone in that region who agrees with Adaka Boro's ideas should please vote against joining Biafra in the referendum. Tell your relatives to do same.

We Biafrans believe everyone must work hard to get ahead, not wait around for handouts and claiming "oppression" when that handout is not forthcoming.

We are Biafrans, and God is with us.
Bros, there are numerous examples that Nigeria is teeming with ill-informed trolls. What has declaration of Niger Delta Republic by lunatic Adaka Boro got do with eastern region of Nigeria? Adaka Boro declared Niger Delta republic and was dealt by the appropriate quarter, in the case, Federal Republic of Nigeria. There was no shot fired in anger the day of his arrest by the team of soldiers led Major John Obienu.

Maybe after reading your book well which you've obviously fail to do, you will know that QUINTESSENTIAL example of a delta in africa and ofcourse one of the best in the world is seen at sounthern Nigeria where the Niger drains into the atlantic. That being said, the Igbos are foolish as all I see here is trying to pick and choose other tribes which confers numerical advantage to them, so that they lord over such tribes. Take it here and now, the NIGER-DELTA is not part of your inauspicious Igboland, we have the Ijaws( a people of pride) and the others there whose detest for nigeria as it is now is because because of the wrong thinking igbos. Leave the Anang, Ibibio, Idoma, Igala out of your Biafra contraption that is bound to fail.

Ignorant is, in fact, an indelible decease. There is no region in the jungle known as Nigeria called Niger Delta and, in fact, there is no delta formed by River Niger in the colonial contraption called Nigeria. Niger Delta is a manifestation of the figment of ignorant imagination.

There is no remote possibility of a local government area called Niger Delta without Igbo.
I shall vote for total disintegration of Nigeria and my preference shall be Republic of Igbo land. I shall also listen to people with cultural affinity to Igbo such as Ibibio, Annang, Ogoni, Idoma, Ejegam and Kalabari to form a union.

In addition, there shall be wars of attrition imbedded in territorial expansionism.

Frustrated people claiming brotherhood with SS, history will not forgive SE with your statements of marginalising the minorities in Biafra which spelt your doom during the war. The issue of trust that allow FGN easy asses to Rivers through Bonny and Calabar, all history.
In your bloody skewed stream of thought, you deduced Igbo man can do anything for money yet Ndigbo do not have any history connecting them to “Oniseguns”.
Your bigotry is legendary. Replying you always diminish my IQ.
It is an apparent figment of imagination if you consider your sorry arse as an entity with any IQ. Believe me you got practical jokes.

basty: I bet an Igbo will never rule Niugeria without Yoruba votes. SW will rule Nigeria without a single Igbo vote. Hausa votes count for any person aspiring into Aso Rock, Hausa man will never vote for an Igbo man. GEJ would not have been President if not for Tinubu that sold Yoruba out. I can categorically tell Nigerians that the second term of Jonathan is a mirage. Let all Igbo know that; as long as there is Nigeriia, no Igbo man will be a president.
Yoruba peeps with the same mindsets as you did not make it as president and never lived to tell the story
