Nigeria’s problems are rooted in pre-Nigeria’s independence and surfaced in post-Nigeria’s independence in 1966. Olusegun Obasanjo is one of the living problems of Nigeria.

What is Nigeria doing or going to do about the silly prediction in article published by Wikipedia. The stage for the female world cup soccer competition has been set and Nigeria should indulge in serious preparation for the tournament.

There is an urgent need for a strong national leader who has the love of the country in his heart. Someone who the mere mention of the country breaking up will provoke righteous anger in him. We don't need a nonentity who does not have strong core values and a mind of his own.
You are one reason among many reasons Nigeria in particular and Africa in general are idiotically lagging under the curve of industrial, intellectual and social development. Nigeria needs to be disintegrated into, at least, five nation states in order to welcome new and aggressive social order. The last thing USA would want is the disintegration of the jungle called Nigeria. Who would want to see a rudderless boat such as Nigeria that oozes misguided natural resources gets safely anchored? Nigeria is the worst practical joke created by human beings.

Cultured: Sis , I know you aren't an " indigent " , but I know you're an indigen of Orlu ( no insult intended ). By the way , I admire Okorocha's maverick , rebellious and sagacious traits , he's a politician of substance, his type makes political parties not vise versa - progressives in every spheres of life endeavors always possesses all these traits he has .
Some people come to this forum to fool around. The only political party formed by Rochas Okorocha lasted only for one month yet this joker wrote “his types make political parties not vise versa”.

mekaboy: I never said it is right to deport a destitute, I asked if they were trained and willingly asked to be taken down to onitsha after training.

Have not taking sides, jst trying to be logical answering the questions above. And will appreciate u answer the questions too before your conclusion.
I suggest you go through your post again especially where you made conclusive remarks such as “If the people had no homes or jobs, then to me it is a security risk”.

Nobody has made Lagos State deportation an Igbo issue but from you assertions it seems okay if the deportation has been carried out by another state other than Lagos State. You have already branded a person without a job as a security risk.

Lack of job does not mean risk or conveys sense of criminality. Again, state government can rehabilitate a citizen but does not have any right to forcefully relocate such individual from one state of the federating units of Nigeria to another.

Abagworo: Sometimes I wonder the level of education attained by most Nairalanders. Rochas is doing perfectly well in infrastructural development and has so many ideas which I admire with the best being the "youths must work" program. I'm happy that each time I visit imo I feel proud of being an Igbo man and also believe we have a bright future. Let the haters hate on while Rochas keeps delivering the goodies. I pray for him not to be deterred by the attacks of the PDThieves. I'm also glad he got rid of the APGA godfathers who needed Imo money.
Please pin-point the section of Imo State with the so-called infrastructural development.

Federal government of Nigeria and Anambra State should initiate investigation into the deportation of destitute by Lagos State that is bordered on criminality since the deportees are dying one after another. Whatever the Lagos State government injected into the bodies of the deportees should be examined.

I do not trust Lagos State and its people because of their ritualistic tendencies.
Politics › Re: An Unbiased View Of The Lagos Deportation. by Duru1(m): 3:37pm On Aug 03, 2013
mekaboy: This igbo deportation issue has been on for so long, it is time to put ethnic spectacles down and look at the situation clearly.

To examine the situation, some questions will need to be asked.

1, Is this the first time such deportation is taking place in lagos?

2, Have people from any other part of Nigeria been deported from lagos beside igbos?

3, Where those deported homeless and destitute?

4,Where they held for 6months against their will and denied access to phone to contact their family? Or was some skill acquisition program going on for that 6months?

5, For those 6months, what were they eating and who was feeding them?

6, Where were they sleeping earlier before they where arrested?

7, Did they commit a crime?

8, Is it constitutional to deport Nigerians from one state to the other?

Now if pple from other parts of the country have been deported from lagos, then to me it is not an igbo issue.

If the people had no homes or jobs, then to me it is a security risk.

If the government kept them against their will and denied them access to phone or contact their family members it is illegal and a case of kidnap.

If the govt kept them for 6months because they had no homes, and feed them, and tried to rehabilitate them before sending them back, not a bad idea.

Now, if it is unconstitutional for a state govt to deport any nigeria from any state to any state, then the lagos state govt or any other state govt who has ever done such is guilty of violating the right of a Nigerian citizen not just igbos.

Please let's be matured an unbiased in our contribution, thanks.
In the above post, the writer seems to postulate that it is Nigerian to emulate and replicate idiocy simply because such crap has existed someplace else. Thank goodness to our culture and tradition, few citizens of USA whom most Nigerians look up today once were homeless and had no job.

Nobody has right to arrest any destitute or bagger for relocation in Nigeria when such hapless individual is a citizen of the country.
Politics › Re: Who Is Senator Chris Ngige Representing At The Senate? By John Okiyi Kalu by Duru1(m):
Nobody has right to deport a bagger. In fact, state governments in Nigeria have no jurisdiction in deportation process talk less of deporting a citizen of Nigeria. State government may deny employment based on state of origin but has no right to relocate a bagger from one state of the federation to another.

The action of Lagos State government led Babatunde Fashola has no constitutional ground to deport baggers and is humanitarianly irresponsible.
Politics › Re: Fashola Denies Deportation Allegation At Meeting With Igbo Leaders by Duru1(m): 2:53pm On Aug 03, 2013
I have followed this topic for a while and indeed I weep for this nation called Nigeria. I weep for Nigeria because her only hope of becoming a great nation lie in its people. But it is evident that the people of Nigeria no matter where they hail from do not believe in the nation. They believe that individual nations are congregated together in the Nigerian project and as such the Nigerian project is a cake which must go round. The Nigerian people don't care to hold elected office holders accountable for their actions as long as those public office holders are from natives of their native nation.

After taking a critical look at the whole deportation saga, I am of the opinion that the Lagos state government is totally wrong in its actions and have grossly abused the fundamental human rights of these deportees or involuntary returnees as the case may be.

First they went about picking people from the streets claiming they were either beggars, mad people or hawkers. A state is governed by laws and laws are interpreted in court and offenders are punished by the courts. I do not know the law of Lagos state the beggars and hawkers have violated but assuming there exists such laws. Such offenders must be charged to court and the courts will prescribe appropriate punishment. In the entire responses given out by the Lagos state governor and the documents presented so far, I have not seen anywhere it was mentioned that these people were charged to court and made to appear before a judge. These people must be made to appear before a judge and must be given lawyers to defend them. If they are found guilty they will be handed over to the prison authorities and after serving their time, it is the prison authorities that have the expertise and rights to seek ways of re integrating them back into their communities. This the state did not do, rather it simply went about looking for ways to send them back from where they came from. The logical conclusion derived herein is that the intention of the LASG in carrying out the sweep was with a view to return poor people back to where they came from rather than to punish law offenders.

Secondly if the victims were mad people as claimed by the LASG, what does any reasonable person or government do when he meets a mad person on the streets - Take him to the psychiatric hospital for treatment and after treatment seek a way to reintegrate them back into families that can take care of them or put them permanently in welfare homes if there are no families anywhere coming forward to take responsibility. This was what Akwa Ibom did to the Lagos state indigenes that were mad according to the documents shown here. In the Akwa Ibom case There was evidence of them been kept in a hospital not a cell, and secondly there were doctors report to show they were been catered for in a hospital. In the Akwa Ibom case, the Akwa Ibom people did not hurriedly carry them to Lagos and drop them off at the Ojota Bridge rather they waited till Lagos state officials came and picked up their people. What purpose does the LASG serve by picking a mad person up in one bridge and after detention dropping them off in another bridge. The logical conclusion here therefore is that the intention of picking up the mad people from the streets in lagos is not to treat them as sick people but to send them back to where they came from.

While understanding that there could be no other reason behind Dr. Chris Ngige and his Aka Ikenga Group's show of solidarity with the Governor of Lagos State on this issue rather than political convenience. Lets us all remember that any of the victims could have been any body's relative. Society's world over are governed by laws and not the wishful feelings and thoughts of members of its government and any government that sweeps people off its streets without necessary laws to back that action is tyrannical.
In this instance I wish to tell the Lagos state Governor in case he does not know that arrested street beggars and hawkers belong to the civil courts not detention cells/camps then another bridge and arrested mad people belong to the hospitals and welfare homes not Head Bridge or Upper Iweka bridge. I have no other conclusion than to say that the actions of the Lagos state government in this instance can to the barest minimum be described as selective tyranny and injustice to the less privileged.
Nigeria is stupidity!!! Advanced individuals from civilization nations say that stupidity can not be fixed. The only remedy is to do away it.
