Politics › Re: Imo Civil Servants Strike Over Govt's Insensitivity To Their Welfare by Duru1(m): 8:50pm On May 11, 2013
Abagworo: Do you think there can ever be unity in Igboland with how clannish most of you think? I can never be a party to tribalism. I believe in justice and freedom and Ironsi never did. If he believed in justice, he would have killed Nzeogwu and others instantly for treason.

Nigeria today is full of ethnic and religious intolerance and Igbos remain the worst hit because we live and invest heavily in non-Igbo territories while others rarely reciprocate. We've given a wrong impression of hostility which the actions of many here could serve as evidence by condemning a man for associating with non-Igbos to strengthen his political tentacles. Are you people aware that since the fall of Orji Kalu and Peter Odili, Rochas is the brightest Igboman that has the chances of being President? If we as usual pull him down, I bet the next Igbo will be pulled down as well. Most of the people trying to do this are from a particular part of Igboland that have a kind of jealousy in the rise of Igbos from other regions. Onyegecha. A.K.A Dede1 is an associate of Ohakim that his source of free money has been blocked. I'm therefore not surprised at his using several monikers to spew out lies. I'll shame all of them with pictures and will like to know what they have to say about it.
You are very fickle-minded indeed. In one instance, you rebuke Ndigbo for investing outside the Igbo enclave instead in Igbo land and in another instance castigate them for preaching that politics is very local. Are you okay?

I do not think you can even recognize justice and freedom if they stand on the ridge of your nose. Ironsi might have been goofy as you but he followed Nigerian constitution and military code of conduct when he set up armed forces and police panel that consisted Lt. Col. Yakubu Gowon, Capt. Bala Usman and AIG. MD. Yusufu to investigate the issue of January 15, 1966 coup and handout indictments.

I can not think of any ethnicity in Nigeria that has bent backward more than Ndigbo to maintain a sense of inclusiveness. Ndigbo had not in any way or shape stop people from other ethnicities in Nigeria from investing in Igbo land. As you have rightfully suggested, Ndigbo are everywhere in Nigeria and beyond.

@OP

The article is correct representation of what is happing in Imo State. It could not be better and the generality of state of things in Imo State is pure laughable and in shades of juvenile fantasy. Imo State has an irresponsible street tout as governor who has throw rule of law and due process to the dust bin. The con man in Alhaji Rochas Okorocha has sold everything sellable in the state to his companies and fronts such Ginikana, Lemonade and Roche.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Has No Reason To Be Poor — EU by Duru1(m):
Nigeria was configured to serve the encompassing interests of the colonial masters. Rossikk blames the ills of Nigerians on colonialism which gave rise to Nigeria but frowns at the slightest suggestion to deconstruct the colonial contraption called Nigeria to suit and serve the interest of nation states.

It is unfortunate Rossikk thinks he\she can eat his\her cake and have it. Colonial masters always put to use airheads and delusional ants such as Rossikk to set Africa in a perpetual and awkward socio-economic predicament.

Stark stupidity and tribalism majorly contributed to poverty in Nigeria.
Politics › Re: Plot By APGA To Expel Okorocha Thickens by Duru1(m): 9:37pm On May 01, 2013
Alhaji Rochas Okorocha’s achievements only reverberate in prints not pictures on nairaland and Imo State media houses looking for handouts from the alhaji. I have challenged the loudmouthed praise singers of Alhaji Rochas Okorocha to flood this forum with pictures of the over hyped alhaji Okorocha’s achievements. I am not surprised that till date no single picture of the so-called Alhaji Rochas Okorocha accomplishment has been photographed. I guess the reasons are not far fetched because there is no achievement. Alhaji Rochas Okorocha is Okorosha and Ojionu altogether.
Politics › Re: Plot By APGA To Expel Okorocha Thickens by Duru1(m): 2:38pm On May 01, 2013
Alhaji Rochas Okorocha is barren of political ideologies. The only ideology the Alhaji has as a political practitioner is how to embezzle public fund. Anybody who has come close to Alhaji Rochas Okorocha will easily discern that he is very uncouth and lacks sophistication. A closer look at the Alhaji Rochas Okorocha reveals a rude con artist.
Politics › Re: Plot By APGA To Expel Okorocha Thickens by Duru1(m): 2:16pm On May 01, 2013
APGA should not embark on any plot to expel the jackass called Rochas Okorocha for anti-party activity. The moronic scumbag should have been expelled by now and subsequently impeached because all reasons to proceed for such actions are glaringly evidential.

Ileke-idi aka Ekiti Ikebe

Your silly shenanigans should be shamefully recognized. It is nice to notice you deceitfully failed to put up the picture of dilapidated brothels in Ado-Ekiti which one of them is named “Sharp-Sharp Hostel”, a befitting name for the type of business obtained within.
Politics › Re: Okorocha Leaves UK Hospital For Israel by Duru1(m): 10:36pm On Apr 28, 2013
abagoro: You don't get what I meant. NAUTH and Calabar were still under rehabilitation while the completed ones like UNTH were barely ok. The issue is that we lack confidence in our health care system and would always prefer UK, Europe or US once we can afford it. The less buoyant would try India. Chino was trying to make it seem like Rochas has failed by not building a UK-equivalent hospital in Imo whereas we don't even have it on the entire African continent and Okorocha is one of the shortest serving Governors.
You are simply more than a blind sycophant. Even with the thought of self-indictment such as “we lack confidence in our health care system and would always prefer UK, Europe or US once we can afford it”, you still have effrontery to hold brief for a person responsible for such lack of confidence in entire system. Whether Okorocha is the shortest serving governors or the longest serving governor, he has not engender any sign to build confidence on the system.

The only blunder you committed was an attempt to compare a country people such as CyberG call home with a country such as Norway. CyberG is lazy student and tender of waves of news released by obscure media houses. I know for such that there are more than one plane painted in POTUS colors however I can attest there are only 2 planes designated as “airforce one” since it could be a classified information.

Politics › Re: Official List Of Victims Of Kano Bus Bombing by Duru1(m): 8:36pm On Mar 23, 2013
Odunnu: My anger is directed at the government of Kano state. It beats me why he should make the comment he made and present a doctored list like you noted of a certain Bassey whose name isnt there.
Why should his problem as the governor of state where so much blood has been let, be on the 'side on the side of the niger' that has most victims?

Do you get where I am headed?
A bloodshed like this happens and all the governor wants to know is how many of 'his people' are involved and goes ahead to publish a false list showing 'his people' as mostly victims. What is the motive? That the igbos should shut up? That the reprisals (which I personally condemn) should stop? What is the motive?

Its sickening that some of us on Nairaland actually think there was no Ade or Ola or Gbenga involved.

Just the same thing the Abia government is doing. A woman gets raped and everything in their mind/heart is not 'how do we help this woman live a normal life again' or 'how do we guard against such wickedness from happening in this state' or 'let us make sure we get those guys involved and teach them a lesson'. What do we get? Very annoying statements from them.
May God help us
It is called denial syndrome induced by pajamas inherent cowardice. I thought it was 1966 all over again when the Yoruba peeps and western regional government in Nigeria pretended as if the pogrom did not reach home.
Politics › Re: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by Duru1(m): 7:29pm On Mar 23, 2013
0lumide: I can't seem to be able to find one thing Achebe achieved as one of "African intellectual".

He had the tool and potential to make people listen to him but he didn't use that tool and potential for nothing but his own literary awards and nothing really educating per se. Except you want to call his style of writing educating. I call his style of writing political and not something that people across the board can really read when they seek guidance in anything.

All the "African" forum he attended were all just noise making forums who just sit and analyze what Africa should be without them following through their conclusions and ensuring that they capture the mind of corrupt African government for a change.

But still Achebe was a creative writer. But to put it beyond that to try and mortally immortalize him as a hero of Africans is just really sentimental. Achebe has contributed nothing to African development, people and spirit.

If we allow Achebe be called a hero, we are leaving space for people like baba suwe and other entertainers to be called Heros. King Sunny Ade as talented as he is in his work, is just a beauty of Africa not an African hero or active contributor to African development.

Achebe is just one of many Africa talents that stood above his peers in his work. Let's not get too sentimental and try to give undue hero worship to him, instead, recognize the creativity of his work which is what his fame is still based not contribution to African people's development. Thanks
At least, one has to be a human being in order to see the achievements and contributions of Achebe to the progress and development of Africa.

Katsumoto: Do you have to be a book writer to identify the men who killed Ironsi and Fajuyi?
I guess we came from different backgrounds and that explains why you doubt the accounts of an ADC and embrace the craps from the editor of Punch Nig. Plc.

Or accept the accounts of a fellow who was still struggling with the loads of medical school when the afforemetioned event took place.
Politics › Re: Real Story On How Lt.col Fajuyi Was Killed By Danjuma & The Northern Coupists by Duru1(m): 6:40pm On Mar 23, 2013
Katsumoto: There are things that don't add up in Nwankwo's story about how he escaped. Why can't Nwankwo name the man or men who pulled the trigger? Nwankwo was the only man who pulled a gun on Danjuma while at Fajuyi's residence yet he is the only one who escaped.
The above statement did not come across to me as a surprise. Before you go crazy with your nonsensical copy-and-paste mumbo jumbo, I must caution you to realize that Flt. Lt A. Nwankwo was not a book writer but a man who confronted Danjuma and his fellow coup plotters in July 29, 1966.
Politics › Re: Real Story On How Lt.col Fajuyi Was Killed By Danjuma & The Northern Coupists by Duru1(m):
Katsumoto: Nwankwo gave a summary of the events and left out some details.

1. Fajuyi was not arrested after he talked with Danjuma the first time. According to Danjuma, Fajuyi extracted a promise from Danjuma not to harm Ironsi. Danjuma told Fajuyi that they were there to arrest Ironsi. When the plotters were arguing with Ironsi about his inactions after the January coup, Fajuyi was still a mediator. It was during this argument that Nwankwo pulled a gun on Danjuma and the five other Northerners present directed their guns at Nwankwo.

2. When Gowon called the government house to warn Fajuyi and Ironsi about the coup, Danjuma answered the phone. This was a side house and not the main house. When Gowon asked Danjuma what was going on, Danjuma said he was there to arrest Ironsi. Again, no mention of Fajuyi.

3. Fajuyi was not arrested, charged, or had his name cited in any coup plotting material. I can not say for certain whether he was involved or not but it is quite possible that his name was slandered after his death. Afterall, the allegations only surfaced after his death.

All sources agree on the above facts. The stories start to change when Fajuyi, Ironsi and Nwankwo are bundled into a truck. Some sources claimed Danjuma walked back to the barracks while others place him at the scene of the killings. The question is, why were there different accounts after Ironsi and Fajuyi were killed? For one, the interview given by Danjuma to Army investigators (General Momoh - The Nigerian Civil War, 1967-1970.) contradicts that given by Walbe to Professor Elaigwu (Gowon: The Biography of a Soldier-Statesman). Walbe admits he was present when Ironsi and Fajuyi were killed but was silent about whether Danjuma was also there.

My opinion
Danjuma, Murtala and the other plotters could not justify the killing of an innocent man to his people and chose to malign his name by alleging that he was part of the plot. This is pure conjecture without facts. If there is no hard proof linking Fajuyi to the Jan 66 coup, then the only reasonable explanation is that he must have offered to die alongside Ironsi so as not to have the sin of complicity on his head. Or he may have been killed just because he was with Ironsi and the plotters did not want to leave a high ranking military officer as a witness. If Fajuyi was killed because it was alleged he knew about the January, then why weren't Gowon and Ojukwu also killed since it was alleged they also knew about the January coup?
The above reads like stuffs from one Nowa Omoigui. To the best of my knowledge, Danjuma has not given an interview or written a book about the arrest and murder of Ironsi and Fajuiyi. It is bluntly laughable that someone can remotely insinuate there is essence of options given in a matter of coup.

One major player who was at the center of the entire drama was Ironsi’s Air force ADC in the person of Flt. Lt. A. Nwankwo.

Your attempts to be relevant in this discussion is rib-cracking laughable. Both of you silly radicals should bury your heads in the sand.

According to Lt William Walbe, in interview he gave to Elaigwu, he categorically stated that Fajuiyi was as good a target to the coup plotters as Ironsi.

I am flabbergasted to know that someone will remotely believe conjectural craps from rumor peddlers to doubt an account from a person who was right at the center of the drama.

Nigeria is certainly an enigma.
please enumerate his contributions to Africa beginning with Nigeria.

Achebe was an ingrate! Twice conferred with national awards and he turned it down each time citing corruption. You should share with us how, sitting in US, he contributed at home to remove the very ill he vehemently opposed. The truth is Achebe remained bitter to his death and he never brought himself around to accept and reconcile the biafran defeat in his own spirit. By accepting a Nigerian honorary award would be an acceptance that his biafran identity is defeated and lost forever. He ended up personifying the Okonkwo of Things Fall Apart.
You are a nut case. I can not believe you asked me to enumerate the contributions of Achebe to Africa whereas you do not know the meaning of contribution. I bet if you remotely know the meaning of word-contribution, you should not have asked such a silly question.

You will continue to dwell in slave mentality till you utilize your last pint of air. The so-called Nobel Prize Committee was scared to think and rightfully so that Achebe could be the only man on earth could have shunned the prize because the Nobel Prize presents colonialism.

Achebe’s critical essays on the Heart of Darkness, coupled with unwavering stand of Things Fall Apart about African culture and tradition, have induced the colonialist committee to hold back on the award Achebe would have won if his essays and books supported the crap and view Europeans had about Africans.

I'm not going to play that dumb game with you, just explain to us how a book that turned the country upside down and dug up old wounds = progress.
I guess the only country Achebe’s book turned upside down only existed in your figment of imagination. Even Nigeria, which is a quasi-country, can not be said to have been turned upside down by Achebe’s book from the point of view of fellow with average intellect.

Please make use of your thinking cap for a moment. If the old wounds were healed, could they have been dug up as wounds?
