Lagos would definitely have the edge because of the ground station being there. So naturally, even with the traffic over there, performance would still be better than Abuja.

Starlink is still the best option around no matter how you look at it. Fiber and its frequent disruptions, mostly because of infrastructural damages, is very annoying, hence I never considered it. It's so unreliable.

Performance has been very poor in Abuja though. I don't know Johnbosco241's location, but performance has been abysmal in Abuja for the past week. It gets better after midnight.

If you are in Abuja, you shouldn't expect good performance. The reason why some of us stick to Starlink is because it's still the most reliable Internet service around. Abuja and Lagos are oversaturated. Those enjoying Starlink are the people who live in locations where traffic is considerably less or non-existent.

They haven't been on the road since last year. What they were doing on that road is illegal. Therefore, they're like civilians blocking the road without any authority, so they deserve any insult or harm that comes to them. They can't take VDM to court because they know it will backfire.

Yeah, as those are the main locations that have reached capacity, but it also applies to specific locations in some states that have also reached capacity. For instance, Keffi in Nasawara.

Yes, that's what it means. The activation charge only applies in locations where there is no more capacity. It's not being added in locations where there's still capacity.

If what you have is a Gen 2 Actuated kit, then I think you are shopping for the wrong router. Contact Starlink first, see if they're willing to replace it for free.

However, it gives you an idea as to why performance is generally poor in most locations in Africa compared to what is obtainable in Europe and Americas.

First of all, Starlink doesn't allow Nigerians to add additional kit to same account. In short, the answer is No.

You may, however, get a new kit under a new account. But if Residential is at capacity in your location, then Business plan is the only option.

Only a transfer of ownership can get the kit out of business plan. For the kit to be eligible, it must have been purchased for at least 120days or 90days since the first activation, or whichever comes first.

If it's eligible, cancel and transfer ownership. If the option for transfer of ownership isn't there at the point of cancellation, contact Starlink, they'll assist.

Note that if the kit was purchased from a 3rd party, like Konga or Jumia, Starlink will require the receipt of purchase in order to assist.
