Yokozuna01:I don't have the device yet, but scroll up, akinremedy posted some pictures of the device. |
moremuch1:They don't give this particular device to you to go home with it after registration. They will send an installer to your place to install it. They're very strict with this ODU, unlike the initial one. You can't find it with agents or resellers. Even their registered distributors don't have it. Their head office here in Abuja also has a quota they're allowed to sell per day, just so they don't pile up devices for installation. |
akinremedy:You are right, because I also learnt some agents were selling the device as high as 175k. I think they just want to avoid the middlemen overpricing the device. |
MorataFC:The 25k is for subscription, not the device. |
MorataFC:They said the same thing when they started issuing their first ODU devices last year. However, they allowed customers to register and leave with the device. But now, with the new ODU, you are registered, then an installer is sent to your house with the device at later date for installation. So, maybe they're serious this time around. |
akinremedy:I was informed by one of their agents that the device is actually not owned by the customer. It's more of a lease, and that's why they send an installer to your home. They take note of your address and probably why they take pictures. He said they would retrieve it if you fail to subscribe after a period of time. But I doubt they can actually go around retrieving devices from customers. |
fineboynl:Your Google account is not a Nigerian one. You probably opened it using a US address or some other country. You can still change the country to Nigeria in the Google account settings. It can only be done once a year. Otherwise, Nigerian Google accounts now accept physical VerveCards (19 digits), including Virtual VerveCards (16 digits). There are certain Google services, like Google Cloud that only accept Naira denominated Visa or MasterCard though. |
akinremedy:Thanks for the info. |
akinremedy:I would like to try this out of curiosity, to see the speed I can achieve and if there's some kind of throttling. How much is the device and the 50Mbps plan altogether? I understand they also send an engineer to your location for the installation. Is that a separate service you will have to pay for? |
akinremedy:I have been using Starlink since February 2023. In terms customer service, nothing in Nigeria comes close to it. When my router got burnt as a result of power surge, a new one was sent for free. When my cable got damaged, a new one was sent for free. When my dishy's gps had issues, an entire new kit was sent for free. I'm confident that if the gen2 system I have now develops an issue, it will be replaced with an entire Gen3 v4 system for free. We have had like 3 notable outages worldwide since I've had it. The longest was about 2hrs. The only other times we experience extremely poor performance is during heavy rainfall. Of course it's not perfect, but you can't compare it with anything we have in Nigeria. The fact is that we are suffering in this country. Internet is extremely expensive. In countries where things work as they should, there's no reason why I should be using Starlink since I live in the city, not some remote or isolated area. But because one can't rely on our fibre, I don't have a choice. |
akinremedy:What is your point? |
udemzyudex:Which Muslim people care about Charlie Kirk? Go on Twitter and other platforms, the people who hated and despised him were mostly Black Americans, as he was a devisive person, a racist. |
https://punchng.com/airtel-unveils-router-with-built-in-backup-power/ According to Airtel, the new 25k ODU router supports 4G and 5G, has in-built power pack and comes with 50Mbps unlimited plan for a month. Afterwards, you can subscribe to the 25k for 50Mbps or 45k for 100Mbps. My issue now is that, I know that at some point, they will throttle the connection, maybe after you have used up to 1TB. I experienced it with the old 25k unlimited plan back then. This is why I will stick to Starlink. Also, unlike fibre, no way you can get the 50Mbps speed consistently as this is wireless. |
Arteta is an extremely stubborn goat. It has been proven time and time again, that this 3 DM thing is not working out. Zero creativity in the midfield. Why is Nwaneri still on the bench? I have never seen a more stubborn manager than Arteta. |
brightk:I am asking of the digits on your virtual card. Are they 19 or 16 digit. You can check this in your Opay app. For instance, mine is 16, not like the normal Opay physical card that has 19 digits. The 16 digits virtual card is not as acceptable as the 19 digits one. Kindly check your app. |
brightk:Is Opay still issuing the 16 digit Virtual VerveCard or have they started issuing the 19 digit one? I once got the 16 digit card but I found out that a lot of online card processors don't accept the 16digit Virtual card. |
ijeezlux:It's been horrible for the past few days. And I also noticed that the interruptions on the app have been extremely high. I haven't experienced this in a long time. |
PL is now nonsense. Soon I will stop watching PL and only focus on CL. This is absolute rubbish. God will destroy PGMOL. |
ijeezlux:Starlink doesn't give free one month subscription on shipment anymore. When I got mine in February 2023, it came with one month free subscription. At the time, the subscription is added when the kit is provisioned for your account. By the time the kit gets to you, you would still have 3 weeks to use it for free. |
nani667:Of course, give it some time. As long as it's fibre, you will experience extended downtimes. Sometimes, for weeks even. |
God will punish PGMOL |
This is the problem with having most of the referees in the PL from the greater Manchester area. This is crazy |
Except Liverpool, no other team could get away with what Man City has gotten away with in this match. A clear foul by the keeper on Kudus, but nothing was given. Tijani fouls Porro on the edge of the box, no foul given. This is crazy. |
Samxie:Not entirely accurate, the best way to test your speed is to connect to the nearest server. Fast.com doesn't connect to any Nigerian server. It connects to foreign servers, which impacts greatly on speed. Ookla's Speedtest.net is one tool that gives options to connect to various local servers. The test on the Starlink app is far more accurate than fast.com. |
Arteta should know this is genuinely his last chance. |
As an Arsenal supporter, there's no reason why we should be ahead in this match. We have been horrible, to say the least |
Is it now forbidden to award Arsenal a foul or do we have a higher standard for foul? |
obi4eze:We have been very useful. I honestly don't know what is going on. |
Arsenal needs to sue the FA PGMOL. Why on earth are we not being awarded any foul? The have continued from where they stopped last season. |
If Saka is not careful, very soon, Dorman will be benching him. I don't know what Saka is playing these days. |
