denko:In the same vain. the Supreme court which overrules any other matter, has said the mandate belongs to party, not candidate. |
Duru1:The election will be concluded. Status quo will be maintained. use your brain. |
denko:Your argument is flawed. They share a joint-ticket, so, technically, they are one and the same. Why then is a vice-president or deputy governor allowed to assume an office, should the President or Governor dies? |
Phame:That is besides the point. Audu and Falake share a joint-ticket, so, technically, Audu is still alive as long as Falake is alive. Status quo will be maintained by Inec. The inconclusive election shall be concluded. |
Mandate belongs to the party, not a candidate. The supreme court has ruled on this matter. Therefore, the deputy automatically has the mandate. |
(1) Declare Abubakar Audu as the winner of the elections and the Deputy Governor is subsequently sworn in. The first option available to INEC is to conclude the elections at a later date with Abubakar Audu as the Candidate of the APC and if as I expect, he wins the election, INEC will then declare him the winner and his Deputy Governor will be subsequently sworn in as Governor to comply with the Constitution. This view is supported by the judicial attitude that leans towards party consideration rather than the individual candidate. The courts have ruled several times that it is the party that is voted for, and not the candidate The above option seem more realistic, given the emboldened. |
Since the constitution didn't envisage this situation, then i think whatever decision is taken by INEC, can be challenged at the courts. This case could go up to the supreme court. People's opinion i have been reading online are just what they wish to happen. no one can confidently say anything authoritatively. |

firstEVA:It's true. I have confirmed it from the house of Rep member who represents my constituency. They were called and informed about it by the family of Audu. |

meforyou1:Hear hear. But, you and i know that Wada can't possibly win this anymore. This is just a delayed victory, in my opinion. Though, yes, the electoral laws need to be satisfied. |
maupe:One can always dream, even when it's unrealistic. Only one LGA was affected, so inec will simply run a by-election in that LGA, and Audu will still win. |
TimeManager:I understand the cancelled votes are from Dekina LGA, and Wada is from that LGA. So it can't be said to be a stronghold of APC. But, considering that there are 49,000 possible votes, and taken also into consideration that 100% turnout isn't possible, I don't see how Wada can stage a comeback. By the way, PDP can't possibly get all the votes. |
Acidosis:There is no way that APC will not garner up to at least 10,000 votes from there. Given that it's only one LGA, it will be easier to checkmate rigging. |
baralatie:Yes, 49,000 voided votes, which is more than the difference between the two candidates |
They made the right call, given that there are more voided votes than the difference between the two candidates |
naijapips02:That question should be directed at Jonathan and Dasuki, not Buhari. |
Philistine:Interesting result here. This means Karaku did a marvellous job for the PDP. |
I knew Wada couldn't win any Ebira LGA. So far, Audu has won Okehi and Adavi |
IamMissMarvel:Please, read, read, read. |
This is by far the most peaceful election we have had in Kogi state in a long time. |
Joavid:I don't support any of the candidates in this election. I was just trying to correct the falsehood by the poster. |
Cool |
That is an extreme case of racial profiling. |
tbarrister:I'm in Okene right now, and I can categorically tell you that you are very disconnected from reality. From the results so far, Audu has won in all Ebira LGAs. |
May his soul rest in perfect peace. From God we came, and back to him, we must return. God knows best. |
