tblacker: Watching him today makes me have respect for the Chairman, he is sound and strong will although that Saraki lawyer tight badly and very sliming but Danladi has the final say and he sure spoke the minds of most Nigerians; Get Saraki down to the tribunal tomorrow he instructed Arase. Kudos, let the justice be done i.e if truly Saraki stole state money let him get served at Kirikiri. Saraki's lawyer was actually attacking the Chairman, which is an offence on its own. He told the Chairman that his tribunal was incompetent, and incomplete. That the tribunal needed to send another member to the 'senate' for confirmation. That is disrespectful and derogatory. In nations where things work as they should, the Chairman would hold him in contempt and order for his arrest and detainment. By the way, the constitution didn't stipulate how many members the tribunal should consist, so yes, he was wrong. |

I know you don't live in Kwara, I live in Kwara for over thirty years, so I know how the politics of that State roll. Have you read how the Emir of Ilorin has been going round for Saraki? koonbey: In law, incompetent may not refer to the capability of a person or body, but rather the legal propriety of the actions the person or body is trying to take. In this case, he premise on saying that was on the constitution of the tribinal. In his own wordings, "the tribunal is not properly constituted ". Which is wrong and derogatory. That is contempt. |

Delafruita: Joseph daudu is incompetent.the code of conduct bureau and tribunal act was amended in 2009 to read
" 1) There shall be established a tribunal to be known as the Code of Conduct Tribunal (in this Act referred to as “the Tribunal”).
(2) The tribunal shall consist of a Chairman and such other members as shall be appointed by the President in accordance with the recommendation of the National Judicial Council.
(3) The Chairman or a member of the Tribunal shall be a person who has held or is qualified to hold office as a judge of a superior court of record in Nigeria and shall not be less than fifty-five years of age.
(5) The Chairman and a member of the Tribunal shall hold office for a term of five years and may be re-appointed for another term of five years and no more. "
it no longer specifies that there have to be 2 other members as the 2004 version did Don't mind that Dauda. I blame the judge for not holding him in contempt for referring to the tribunal as incompetent. |

gentlelarry: Merely reading the comments in this thread, you will know the problem of Nigeria is not leaders but we citizens. Somebody was accused; very simple, all we want is for him to appear before the court and say his own side of the story SIMPLE... Guilty or Not! A whole president of the SEnate of the federal Republic of Nigeria cannot even respect the law, abi se Code of conduct tribunal was not established by act of law ni, so, why all this movie... I cry for this Nation not because of our leader but because of the clueless and corrupt citizens that lack common sense to differentiate right from wrong... Guilty or No guilty... Let Saraki appear b4 the law!!!! If this case is buried or rubbished then believe me The hope of this Nation is being buried gradually.... If it was an undergraduate that was charged of stealing... Na like 50 handcuffs sars go take carry am go court even when he has not been pronounced guilty by court.. Nobody is bringing our dear SP with handcuff all we want is for him to respect himself and appear b4 the court... This can't even happen in a well civilised country... If we are crying that we want to be developed we really have to understand the basics of what is means... The problem of this country are the PDP and its supporters. Go through the comments and you will find that they are the only ones against the prosecution of Saraki. And even boasting about it. That is why we call them saTANists. |
