Liberty90: I said this last year...quote below!
BREAKING: 5 Deputy Comptroller-Generals Of Customs Resign
Why won't they resign? You bypassed them because you know that the next in line to take over by seniority was DCG Nwosu...you panicked, "he is Igbo and he can't be in such a position." Instead you went as far as...fear of Igbo... bringing a Northern geriatric retired army general, an outsider...something never done before... to make sure an Igbo man doesn't clinch that seat. THIS COUNTRY IS IMPLACABLY EVIL AND GOD IS ANGRY; INTENSELY ANGRY. The plan is to now assemble new DCGs with a northerner as senior to take over from the Geriatric general...he will resign within a yr or two to pave way for the prospective senior northerner DCG; you want to bet? All these while, I have been wondering why an outsider was brought in...not a DCG as customary procedure until a custom officer friend relayed me the gist of the inner politics. Is it a coincidence that 99% of all past comptroller general of customs are of Northern extraction?
https://www.nairaland.com/2700749/breaking-5-deputy-comptroller-generals-customs Is the GMD of NNPC Igbo and an "outsider"? Please stop whipping up sentiments. |

grandstar: The present tools government is using is causing mayhem in the economy. They have proven to be blunt and highly ineffective shortchanging almost everyone. The best indicator of this is that a bag of pure water is now 100 naira.
The proper thing to do is to allow the currency depreciate to its real value based on the present forex earning so that the government can provide enough forex to everyone who demands it.
GEJ allowed the currency to depreciate snd that is why is why despite oil prices falling from $118 to $45, the naira fell from 165 to 210.
It is the opposite with PMB who said he won't allow the currency to depreciate from day 1. That is why there is so much bedlam. GEJ allowed the naira to depreciate to about N197 and not 210. Depreciation does not increase the amount of dollars in our reserves. It only makes it more expensive for those who buy dollars. If they don't mind paying more for the dollar(as is currently happening), why depreciate? |

magicminister: I only have 2,000 naira on my zenith bank account and i made a 5 dollar transaction only to be charged 1700 naira. This implies that zenith bank sold each dollar at the rate of 350 NAIRA. Yet, the central bank sells dollar to these banks at the rate of 190-199.
This is crazy and greedy!!!! Your transaction does not qualify for forex from CBN. You don't know where the bank got its dollars from and how much so you can't blame them. If you want to buy at the official rate, go to your bank and fill the necessary forms. |

RichYoungNigger: Please. Don't devalue the naira. I want $1 to be 2,000 naira. I've been busting my ass working in the USA just to be very rich in Nigeria. Some people hate the fall of naira but that's what Nigerians living in the USA pray for. When i come back to Nigeria with $25,000, do you know how much i will exchange it for ??
I will worship you forever if you don't devalue the naira. Buhari is the only person i love in this world and i hope he rules Nigeria for 90 years If we don't devalue, how will the price hit N2000? |

Politics › Re: The Incompetent Ministers Of President Muhammadu Buhari by dustydee: 11:47am On Feb 19, 2016 |
Orikinla: Even heaven knows many of the Ministers appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari are incompetent. Their appointments were not based on merit, but on being the loudest loyalists of the new ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC).
Majority of them are either incompetent or overwhelmed by the great responsibilities of their big portfolios. The most apparent are the Minister of Finance, Minister of Education, Minister of Information and Culture, Minister of Defence and Minister of Foreign Affairs who has an impressive resume, but does not even know how to assist the President on the best foreign policy for Nigeria.
The worst is the Minister of Finance who should be sacked or should be given a superior adviser like the best Minister of Finance Nigeria has had since independence, Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu whose proven expertise in finance and decades of experience in private practice and public service will be of great benefit to the current Minister of Finance. What is wrong with the minister of finance? She seems to be doing a good job so far. |

TechWalker007: At the bolded, Buhari did not withdraw the fraudulent budget, he did not apologize to Nigerians but he sacked a DG
How can one sack the DG and leave the same fraudulent budget in NASS for it to be passed? Same budget for which he blamed Budget Mafia and sacked some people. If it's fraudulent enough to sack people, why has it not been withdrawn and every fraudulent line item removed. I thought the duty of the NASS is to review the budget before passing it into law. If the mistakes have been acknowledged and in some cases the ministers have been asked to resubmit estimates, I see no reason why it has to be withdrawn. the good thing is that these things were spotted before it was passed unlike in the past. |

Destined2win: Does it mean they couldn't just create a little air-conditioned see-through room in the warehouse.
A lot of things are taken for granted in this nation, and that must stop when I become President! But from available information, there's no indication that the ware house was not well ventilated. At least he wasn't the only one there. and from Jumia's account he had a chest pain after which his colleagues ran to his aid. If he had suffocated, he would have been gasping for air. He probably died of heart attack which may have been induced by stress. |
