The mistake PDP made in the last election was they refused to use child voters, those who used child voters are governing the country as we speak.
Why do some keep regurgitating this type of drivel? Don't they - or their political representatives - know their ways to the various electoral tribunals set up for the purpose of settling relevant complaints?

The PDP government in power then was warned that most/all those sham elections would eventually be nullified, especially once the PDP lost the presidency, but that government - with its propagandists, e-warriors, apologists and the likes, brushed aside and snapped at those cautionary, sensible, and peaceful warnings.

Now, the chickens are coming home to roost. In life, it normally would appear that all days are for the thief, but one day - which is usually the day of reckoning - is for the owner, as the thief is caught and sanctioned/punished according to already existing laws.

Even at that, it doesn't follow that these rascally acts of electoral and financial impunity will stop just like that without a determined opposing force, and then, it shall be de ja vu all over...

Hopefully, these acts of brigande - particularly those that have to do with electoral fraud - get thinned out over a reasonable time to allow the society to make real and sustainable progress.

On one hand, Chief Edwin Clark said ex-President Goodluck Jonathan lacked the will to fight corruption, that Jonathan was too much of a "gentleman." On the other hand, Chief Clark is saying people Jonathan surrounded himself with, "prevented," or "made it impossible for" Jonathan from/to fighting/fight corruption over a period of six whole years, just at the presidency level alone O. What's the difference between the "different" sets of views being canvased by Chief Clark?

The bottom line of the aggregate of Chief Clark's statements on Jonathan is that Jonathan didn't have the liver to effectively or properly govern - at any level, and that Jonathan was always complicit with or acquiescing to everything that went wrong with his leadership.

Chief Edwin Clark is actually just further rubbishing the ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan.

Good luck to the old man and his political "son," and to the defender of the "son," Reuben Abati.

Honestly, I've always believed in the portion of the statement I've highlighted in bold, since the time Barcanista/TonyeBarcanista suddenly turned against his immediate former party, the APC; I felt so especially because of the very flimsy and unintelligent reasons (IMHO) that he gave for the barefaced switch - and the time he did it. However, his kind should in no way be seen as being representative of even his clan, talk less of his ethnicity. Such a view/generalization would be greatly id1otic and unfair.

TonyeBarcanista's type occurs in any conceivable clan on this planet earth - and from time immemorial.

atbu1983:
Yoruba made Jonathan President not Igbo

Igbo should stop spreading lies. It is time to correct this deceit.

When Yar Adua was sick in 2010 and GEJ was VP the most vocal group who ensured Jonathan was made President were the Yoruba. During these period most Igbos were silent and dumb.

The Save Nigeria Group founded by Pastor Tunde Bakare and Sahara reporters prevented Jonathan from being impeached and making way for David Mark to becoming d president. We cant 4get the massive support Prof Wole Soyinka gave to save nigeria group protest and impact of other south west media houses like punch, tribune and the nations to the struggle to prevent Jonathan Impeachment and ensuring that Jonathan became president.

In 2011 elections, the whole South(SW,SS and SE) and middle belt gave Jonathan block vote. South west gave jonathan more than 70% of their vote in 2011 when compared to what Buhari got in South west. South south did the same. South east did d same. North central gave Jonathan more than 60% of the vote.

In 2011, In the whole North (NC,NW and NE) Buhari was only leading Jonathan with about 3.3million vote. In the south west, Jonathan was leading Buhari with about2.4million votes, while in south south Jonathan was leading Buhari with about 6million votes. This means if we cancel all the elections from south east, Jonathan would have still won 2011 elections.

Even if we go further and add all Jonathan's vote in the south east to Buhari vote, Jonathan will still have the simple Majority in 2011 election. This last statement may be sarcastic, but it is true.

The only thing some south east states did which south west states and North Central stares did not do was to Inflate the voters turn out which card readers prevented in 2015 election. The truth was dat the inflation of vote by some south east states in 2011 was completely unneccessary because Jonathan would have won without it. Jonathan won some states like Taraba and Adamawa in North east in 2011.

We cant forget the impact of Pastor Enoch Adeboye laying of hands on Jonathan in 2011 redeem camp on 2011 Jonathan election among christians all over Nigeria. We cant 4get the role of Gen Olusegun Obasanjo in ensuring that Jonathan was made Acting President. Who being the Chairman of PDP board of trustee asked Yar Adua to resign for Jonathan to become president. We cant 4get d Insult obasanjo got from Arewa for that statements. We cant 4get how Obasanjo prevent former VP Atiku abubarkar from hijacking PDP and getting the PDP ticket in 2011

So igbo never made Jonathan President in 2011. The only thing Igbo did was to destroy Jonathan presidency between 2011 and 2015.
Igbo people like Stella Oduah destroyed d image of Jonathan Govt. Igbo people hijack Jonathan govt preventing him from achieving what he needed to achieve. Pius Ayim Pius brought high level Nepotism to Nigeria Federal civil service.

As far as i am concern it was President Jonathan who did Igbo big favour by giving them a loud voice in Nigeria national politics. You igbo should be grateful to Jonathan not d other way around.

The only time Igbo stood alone with Jonathan was 2015 election which Jonathan lost. Igbo stood with him for thier own good because of what he had done for them politically. And also because they know they cant control any other person the way they controlled Jonathan

Even today that Jonathan is no more the president of Nigeria, the only Governor who has made defending Jonathan legacy his primary assignment is a Yoruba Governor. Governor Fayose of Ekiti. No igbo PDP governor defend Jonathan today like Fayose do.

Today, they want to re-write history with fake propanganda just because of 2015 election. What make me sick is the way they make it look like south south owe them when actually they are the one owing south south for giving them voice through Jonathan.

In summary, Jonathan got 22.5 million vote while Buhari got 12.2Million votes in 2011. if you subtract the 5million vote South east gave jonathan and even add it to Buhari vote, Jonathan vote will become 17.5million while Buhari vote will become 17.2millions. Thus Jonathan would have still won.

The moral of my message is that in 2011 election, the whole Nigeria voted for Jonathan. In 2011 Jonathan was the candidate of SW,SS,SE,NC and some part of NE. So south east cannot lay claim that they made Jonathan President.

But if Jonathan was not made Acting president by the help of the Yoruba, Jonathan would not even be a candidate for the election in the first place.

Below is 2011 Presidential results.

I'm afraid you're just making up your story as you go, so, EPIC FAIL. The days of impunity appear to be over, even in Rivers State.

Contest an election decently - and win decently. It's as simple as that. Don't give Rivers State - or any other state for that matter - an unjustified bad name in order to hang it.

According to the Constitution, the next in line in terms of hierarchy at the state level, takes over, and so on. In this case, I believe it will be the Chief Judge of the state. So, there will be no constitutional crisis anywhere.

Tribunal Sacks Speaker And 20 House Of Assembly Lawmakers by NgeneUkwenu(f): 7:33pm

Elections petition tribunals sitting in Abuja have nullified the election of the Speaker, Owaji Ibani from Andoni constituency and 20 lawmakers in Rivers state house of assembly. The lawmakers were elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party on April 11 2015 in an election marred by vote rigging and violence.

The judgements given today by the relevant tribunals in Abuja is bound to compound the case of the governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, who was sacked last week by a tribunal under the same circumstances. There are 32 state lawmakers in Rivers state with the election of 21 members nullified the state assembly will no longer form a quorum as to continue to function.

Stop spreading lies Mr. man! Who told you that it was Buhari regime that introduced TSA? FYI, TSA was a brainchild of the former regime. The School pupil feeding programme bull*** is yet to be started and until it starts then it is another political promise. A soft deadline for clearing Boko haram. Are you for real? For christ WTF does that mean? So giving deadline is now an achievement right? And has Boko haram menace cease since the issuance of the senseless deadline? Please Just stop embarrassing yourself, it is not funny.
Obviously, you're filled with so much hate, so much so, that you lack accurate info: The TSA policy was originally mulled/introduced by Yar'Adua (not Jonathan,) but he couldn't get it off the ground for the two years or so he spent at the helm of affairs. Jonathan attempted to re-introduce TSA throughout his own six years in power, but the half-arsed effort fell flat on his face, because he didn't have the liver. And notice that I emphasized "AND enforcement," with the current regime. It is a big paradigm shift in the positive for our country, as TSA is now being properly implemented AND ENFORCED. Already, two of the first generation banks have had to pay more than four Billion Naira in fines to the coffers of the federation just last week, because those banks tried to mindlessly sidestep the enforcement of the TSA by concealing some funds belonging to the NNPC. But, obviously you only just saw what you wanted to read!

The rest of your drivel speaks for itself, since you can't seem to be able to distinguish between "achievements" and "intangibles," as I dwelt chiefly on the later. You then omitted all the other intangibles I talked about.

Politics › Re: Why Tribunal Nullified More PDP Elections Compared To APC In 2015 April Election by duwdu: 1:54pm On Oct 26, 2015
atbu1983:
I have seen alot of complain from PDP and PDP sympathiser that more PDP elections are being annulled compared to APC.

The weakness in this argument is that PDP had more power and might to rig during April 11 elections. APC was the under dog at that time. PDP controlled most of the Army, Police, civil defence and INEC during the election. It is only natural and logical that most of the rigging will be by PDP knowing fully well that it is the same Nigerians in PDP that are in APC.

Since it is the same corrupt Nigerians that are in APC and PDP, it is only natural to understand that it is the survival of the fittest/strongest. During the April Election, PDP has the might, so more Power to rig. Any neutral mind or objective mind will understand that clearly PDP outshine APC in rigging in South South. Also, we should know that most losers in the North especially in the North West in the April 11 Govenorship election did not go to court. Most of them accepted the result.

In the north even though PDP had the Army, police and INEC, it was difficult for them to succeed because of the massive support the APC candidate got because most of the Northern APC candidates use Buhari popularity to thier advantage. Also couple with high political participation by northern masses in terms of voting consciousness, it was more difficult for the federal might to work effectively in the North.

Coming to south south and Rivers in particular. I live in PortHarcourt. Though i am pro APC, I know very well if April 11 governorship elections was free and fair, wike would have still won with atleast 60% of the vote. Not because the people love WIke, but because the people were pained by Jonathan loss and saw it as way of showing solidarity to Jonathan. Wike was generally seen by rivers people as a thug and cultist (personally i dont know if this tag is true or not, but that is the believe of more than 80% of rivers people). Initially the popular slogan in rivers state among rivers ordinary people was " Jonathan for President, Dakuku for Governor". But when Jonathan lost, they didnt care anymore. even if Wike is the devil himself, they would have still gave him atleast 60% of the vote at that time. (April 2015).

Wike greatest Mistake

Wike greatest mistake was trying to prove that the result in terms of voters turn out Jonathan got from rivers state is genuine. Which i considered completely unneccessary since Jonathan has already conceded defeat before the April 11 elections. Naturally, most south south people dont turn out for elections. Also in rivers, many people were afraid of violence and most people stayed at home. Wike trying to prove Jonathan March 28 results was genuine, ensured the total voters turn out was similar to March 28 elections. The only way he can do this is to inflate the turn out and claim manual registration. The greatest mistake in this idea is that, the card reader records both failed and sucessfull attempt. According to INEC guidelines, the card reader must be tried first before doing manual accreditation. Had wike allowed the result of only people that voted to be announced, he would have won, and the tribunal would have find it difficult to annul it.

In rivers state the card reader recorded less than 320,000 attempts (both failed and successful accreditation). Why the total voters in the result declared by INEC is about 1.5million. That means only 20% of the voters made attempt to use Card reader. In all sincerity we all know this is too obvious to be ignored. The rigging was done without tact. It was reckless.

For example in cross rivers state, the tribunal Upheld the Victory of PDP. In Ebonyi state tribunal Upheld the victory of PDP. In Enugu state, tribunal Upheld the victory of PDP.

But in Abia state, there is alot of confusion because the APGA candidate was also very popular with the people. Most people in Abia believe the APGA candidate won the true vote. They may be wrong or right. But what is clear is that it was a close contest in Abia because it was APGA vs PDP. which are currently both Igbo parties.

If we are sincere with ourselves, we will agree that the Tribunal have been fair when we look at substantial compliance to the guidelines.

APPEAL COURT

There is 50-50 chance that Wike might win in the appeal court .
The Court of Appeal, in a judgment delivered by Justice Obande Festus Ogbuinya, in Agbaje vs Ambode (APC), declared categorically that the Card Reader has no Life of its own, and as a result, cannot be used to determine the result of an election, since it is not contained in the Electoral Act, 2010, as Amended.

However, rivers election tribunal (high court equivalent) has already ignored the court of appeal Judgement in lagos while making its Judgement. The appeal court in Wike case is not bound by the court of appeal decision on Ambode vs Agbaje since they are court of equal juridiction thus can make independent Judgement on similar issue but not related. Also the Supreme court Judgement in Ambode vs Agbaje case was not base on card reader. The supreme court upheld the argument by Ambode’s lawyer, Olabode Olanipenikun, that the appeal had been rendered incompetent and academic by the virtue of the fact that the PDP refused to join Agbaje to appeal against the decision of the Court of Appeal, which had earlier upheld the judgment of the Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to uphold Ambode’s election.
This gives the appeal court in wike case leverage to deliver its own Judgement its own way since there is no superior court judgement on the issue

OK fine, you are right about Wike, but what is happening at the federal level? Why has the presidency be in coma for the past five months? Why is it that nothing is happening? Should we also say Buhari has been busy chasing shadows by making corruption allegation against the former regime instead of starting work?
Look, the introduction AND enforcement of the TSA alone - a very concrete, revenue generating/leakage-blocking measure - is worth its own weight in gold. The primary school pupils feeding programme is almost here, and sanity appears to have started returning into our public institutions, to mention just a few intangibles, talk less of the clearing of the criminal backlog of unpaid workers' salaries all over the place, a soft deadline for clearing up the Boko Haram menace, and the resurgence of, and respect for, Nigeria among the comity of Nations. These are just some of the non-controvertible ones I can write down from the top of my head. All these even without a federal cabinet in place yet.

But I know that what primarily concerns some people is just to see that a Federal Minister hails from their community. Very funny.

Am a core APC Loyalist but i believe there's an underground settlement already..Good For the Political elite bad for the People..The President dissapointed me with this..
If that's your belief, then you'll believe anything, and any mundane thing can just throw you off course; in which case, you're on a long thing, man.

For the record, I won't believe in such a scenario, and I make bold to say that those who believe in such contraptions/innuendos are either underestimating the man's (Buhari) resolve, or simply wishing for him to fail. And God forbid that/such failure, for the sake of our country.

The confused dullard is now looking for merit and competence, which let's face it, can only come from the hardworking Biafrans.
Your type of comment/thinking was the stuff with which Adolf Hitler started on his dastardly acts, and what became widely recognized as extreme crimes against humanity. embarassed SMH.

With issues such as the subject appointment, even if currently in acting capacity, I tend to believe that this President is increasingly showing his hand as a thinking, methodical, and resolute leader.

God, in His infinite mercy, helps those that help themselves. Actions such as this shows that we are perhaps on the road to actually helping ourselves. All the best to us as a Nation.
