This rich Guinness chocolate cake is made with reduced dark stout beer for deep flavour. Topped with ultra creamy chocolate Guinness cream cheese frosting.
You just need 2 Guinness stout beers and some basic baking ingredients.

Let's quickly review the other ingredients you'll be mixing with the reduced Guinness and why each is crucial to your results:

• All-Purpose Flour: The structural base of this recipe. Cake flour is great for vanilla cake, but when combined with ultra-light cocoa powder, it's too fine for this cake. Stick to all-purpose here.

• Unsweetened Natural Cocoa Powder: Do not use dutch-process cocoa powder. If you're interested, see dutch-process vs natural cocoa powder for an in- depth explanation.

• Granulated Sugar: Sweetens this cake.

• Baking Soda + Baking Powder: This is a fairly dense cake, but these 2 leavening agents provide the lift. • Espresso Powder: Espresso powder accentuates the chocolate and Guinness flavours.

• Salt & Vanilla Extract: Flavor and more flavour!

• Vegetable Oil: Cocoa powder is a particularly drying ingredient, so oil is needed to ensure the cake is moist.

• Eggs: Eggs add structure and bind the ingredients together.

• Sour Cream + Buttermilk: While you could use just one or the other, you'll have the best success with a combination of both, which makes for a moist and soft yet sturdy crumb.

Whisk together the dry ingredients, whisk together the wet ingredients, then pour the wet mixture into the dry and whisk to combine. The last step for the cake batter is to add in the hot reduced Guinness. We'll use 1/2 cup (120ml) of hot reduced Guinness in the cake batter and set aside the remaining to cool completely for the frosting.

Why use hot liquid? Hot liquid helps the cocoa powder "bloom," drawing out its rich flavour. We use hot coffee in this chocolate cake and these cream-filled cupcakes, but today we're using reduced Guinness instead.

The election had started on the 25th of February, 2023, with the presidential election as the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials had rightly announced, and people from all regions came out in groups to cast their votes.

Shortly after the accreditation on election day, the citizens started casting their votes for their preferred candidates in some local governments. However, as smooth as this sounds, accreditation did not start at the scheduled time in some polling units and local government areas, but regardless, the young citizens didn't get tired.

Some waited at the unit but didn't hesitate to call out the INEC executives on their social media channels. This is the energy we love to see! For the first time in the history of Nigeria's election, most Nigerians did everything they could to protect their votes, and they didn't allow vote buying too.

After the long electoral process, it was time for the result, and the unexpected candidate emerged as the winner of the election. This result was different from what's on BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System), and the matter led to court with all the presidential aspirants fully represented.

After so much deliberation, Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee for the commission, released a statement at 11:20 p.m. on the 8th of March stating that the postponement was due to the legal action brought against the electoral body.

According to him, the commission met to discuss the impact of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal's (EPT) decision on Wednesday regarding the reconfiguration of the BVAS used for the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, on its planning for the governorship and state house of assembly elections scheduled for March 11, 2023.

He noted that on March 3, 2023, the Presidential EPT issued an ex parte order directing various political parties to examine certain election-related materials, including the forensic examination of more than 176,000 BVAS stored at INEC LGA offices across the nation.
