Our Finance Minister, Mr. Wale Edun, who is responsible for fiscal policy, appeared on ChannelsTV to share his plans to improve the Nigerian economy:
1) Giveaways. He spent half of his time talking about giveaways. He feels most of the excess naira in circulation has gone to the rich, so he wants to share more excess naira with the poor as well. 🤐
2) To plug revenue leakages by channelling all revenue directly to the FG and disbursing expenditures directly to intended recipients without intermediaries who might embezzle the money. ✔️
3) To increase tax collection by 70% this year without increasing tax rates and eliminating some types of tax that are unnecessary. ✔️
4) He want to pay back Ways & Means by looking for new sources of revenue. I felt that his explanation of how that would be achieved was vague. It's unlikely to happen after CBN's data showed an increase in W&M. ❌
5) Collaborating with CBN by increasing interest rates to attract FPI. I find this to be short-sighted if attracting hot money is the perceived benefit of raising interest rates and not the reduction of inflation, & FDI. Also, our real interest rates are still negative, so how will this work? ❌
Overall, Mr Edun has some decent ideas but his overall plan is inadequate to solve our problems.
I recommend inviting the economists who spoke at Proshare's Economist Conference to Abuja for a retreat where they can help him to develop a comprehensive plan that might actually work.
The blue pill to Nigeria's problem is to enact, implement and enforce a law that stipulate that 80% of our national budget should be spent on the local economy. Either in procurement, execution, or research. The resultant effect will be massive, because you will have billions of naira floating around and looking for where to land because the budget have to be implemented.
Secondly, any person or group of persons that benefits from government contracts should be made to have 70% of their wealth in the local economy
nzechu: anybody wen fall for this kind scam the person Na zombie o,
Many did fall, because he won the heart of many by posting credit alerts daily he sent to (his cronies) people . While claiming he felt like helping others like Mr 24hrsuplift is claiming. Today he brought out his sickle. Our resident lifter here is forcing us to want his help

You remind me of one stupid king jowize on WhatsApp that just scammed thousands of Nigerians this morning, by doing fake WhatsApp giveaway with his team. Today morning, the guy said he's giving to people that haven't won his giveaway . All intending winners need to do is pay 10k n get 50k free 20k gets 80k and 40k gets 200k.
My very good neighbour sent 20k and got a fake alert in return. I just dey look the girl since morning as she dey sober
lol, yeah . Then break against the frame of the WC. Then your anal muscle will push the rest in for a breather. It's better than trying to push it all out at once and risking your total analation
Namaster: Some of you are talking about pushing and pushing like you have no regard for your life. Straining in the toilet can cause a lot of problems including hemorrhoids and anal fissure.
It's great that you escaped with your yansh intact. Now you, and the guy with sugarcane shit, need to make the following lifestyle changes:
1. Drink a LOT of water. No matter how much you drink CURRENTLY, drink more! Stay hydrated ALWAYS. Don't go anywhere without a bottle of water.
2. Eat a LOT of fiber. Green vegetables like Ugwu and fruits like apple, banana and watermelon should be your main diet.
3. AVOID bread. Eating most bread in Nigeria is begging for constipation.
4. Reduce rice.
5. Stop drinking alcohol. Alcohol dehydrates and ends up sucking up the moisture that should have heen used as a lubricant for your stool.
6. Don't strain in the toilet.
Add don't try to Push everything out at once, try cutting it with your anus then continue

okeychris: Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has hinted that a new city will emerge along the newly built 26.4 kilometres Amansea-Ntoko-Ndiukwuenu-Awa-Ufuma road.
Governor Soludo stated this during the commissioning of the road where members of the various communities he visited who are connected to the long stretch of roads thronged the venues of the brief ceremonies in their numbers. They all dance in excitement to receive the Governor's entourage.
The Governor explained that building "One Anambra" is the agenda, irrespective of social stratification, political party affiliation or religious inclination, pointing out that APGA's major concern is to lift everyone out of poverty in tandem with its mantra of "be your brother's keeper".
According to the Governor, the late Mr. Joe Anatune who hailed from Awa was the first person that hinted about the strategic importance of the road, recalled that he promised to construct the road during Mr. Anatune's funeral ceremony, emphasizing that completing the road is in fulfillment of the promise he made in his memory.
Governor Soludo stressed that after assumption of office, his government did not start work from the areas that voted highly for him, but from local government areas where he narrowly lost, where there is greatest need.
He reminded them during campaign, their major request was for his government to construct the road, adding that the commissioning calls for celebration.
For the Transition Committee Chairman for Orumba North, Sir Ogochukwu Ekwueme, said the people of Orumba North will ever remain grateful and continue to pray and support the Governor and his team.
Others who spoke during the event include the Traditional Ruler of Awa, Igwe Israel Ezue, President General of Awa, Chief Raymond Ofor, President General of Ufuma, Rtd. Commodore Clement Ofor described the road project as fulfilment of a promise.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion include Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Barr. Joachin Anaeto, Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, member representing Orumba North at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Paul Obu, Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, Chief Protocol officer, Hon Chinedu Nwoye, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, among others.
Cutting of the tape by motorcyclists, keke, shuttle bus drivers and the late Joe Anatune's wife, formed the highpoint of the event.
I created this thread to try and connect deaf or hearing impaired Nairalanders on a WhatsApp group specially created for our kinds.
Those who communicate by lip reading, like me, and those who communicate by sign language are all welcome to join.
The purpose of the group would be to familiarize, socialize and connect with each other, share ideas, challenges and encourage each other.
And if God wills, we may organize a get-together where we meet and socialize physically.
If you are a normal hearing individual but knows a deaf or hearing impaired individual, please inform him or her of the group and encourage them to join.
My Whatsapp number is 07034691446 for those interested in been added.
CC: dominique, Rocktation, farano. Please help push to the front page so deaf Nairalanders can have access to it 🙏🏻
Lip reading, what if the person isn't saying anything but instead he's giving sign, how do you decode that?
NICOGRAVITY: I presently live in a 2 storey house that's a 104 years old. The decking is purely wood. Why don't we result to building with woods and bricks. Why are we wasting so much money on iron rods. Can the bamboo carry the heavy weight load and sustain its durability for 30 years? In building we have to be futuristic, aplly health and safety, and also make sure that used materials are tested and approved. Be careful not to build cheap today and same building collapse in 30 years time killing you and your loved one's. Better build a bungalow.
You sure that the deck was made of wood? Can you help tell us the kind of wood or picture or can you help tell us if the wood was treated.
GabsonFX2: Point of correction: I'm a full time FX Trader and not a part time. I'm also a full time marine engineer in profession. FX does not have to be part time to excel in the other career.

Shame no dey catch you oga. Is any sane person with class suppose to be proud in being associated with the past government or the present or any government in Nigeria history?
Akposb: It is a weird fact that the sooner we are born, that is the moment we are set on a journey of competition. Hundreds if not thousands of babies are born at the same time and this is not lost on elderly ones. Some go as far as praying for the new born child in these words:
“May you be above your equal.”
There you have it. Competition is rife especially in places where opportunities are “limited”. As people work hard to get better, they unmistakably aim at the supposed active and passive rival with ideas ranging from fair to the devious.
Competition is used as a template to implement all sorts of strategies against your supposed opponent.
The question many usually ask is how to get ahead of the competition. That question have as many answers as any human subject that have become commonplace over the years. The fact is that competition is here to stay hence the need to answer the question. My simple take is to learn how to compete without competing.
No one sets out without a desire to win. Even if the desire is not clearly expressed, somewhere in the inner circuits of the mind, there is that desire to succeed. The business world is one place where humans play to achieve both career and material goals. This inevitably leads to competition with early entrants or predecessors. Do you compete or just play by the side? Even the lesser path you choose is not lacking a rival either.
I will like to buttress my earlier antidote using football.
Football, love or hate it, is one of the most competitive and watched sports in the world. France was the overwhelming favourite going into the Euro 2016 final against Portugal. France had a good team coupled with a potent attack. Portugal had a decent team but had an attack almost reliant on the brilliant Cristiano Ronaldo.
The final played out as predicted. France dominated but could not score a goal and Portugal had their major attempt at scoring during the extra time. Tragedy struck when Ronaldo was forced off the field with an injury and in came Ederson who was miles away from the kind of threat posed by Ronaldo. He scored the winning goal few minutes before the end of extra time. Portugal held on to their advantage due to the strength and good organization of their defence. They eventually won the Euros.
Portugal had one way to compete and that was playing to the strength of their defence while finding a way to help the attack which was their weakest link.
To compete without being in 'obvious' competition is to hold your strength above your weakness. Putting your area of strength into perspective is the best way to get over your fear of losing out.
On social relations, this is quite tricky as our sense of self is safer when we realize that no two persons live the same kind of life. Contentment is what should be your focus.
If you are unsatisfied with where you are now, then you have to think of how to get ahead. Rather than focus on that in your neighbour’s hand, it is more pleasing if you can enlist their help in doing that which is necessary to get what you want.
Celebrating your wins and being thankful for what you have is a springboard to growing in strength and abundance.
Sammiepro95: Hello Nairalanders, I'm looking for suggestions on where I can learn programming, coding, and app design in Ilorin, Kwara State. I'm interested in acquiring digital skills, and I've already learned how to create a Shopify website design and graphic design. But I'm eager to learn more. Does anyone in Ilorin know of any good places to learn these skills? Your input would be much appreciated. Thank you!

The poster's sister was arrantly careless. Unlocked phone, unlocked apps which include the Opay.
Now this is what he did...after he stole the phone, he accessed the Opay app which would be definitely unlocked and tied to the number of the phone...he simply changed the password and Opay sends and OTP to the same phone which he copies and viola, he has full access.
After creating the card, he used the same changed password to withdraw all the funds.
he firstly register his finger print in the phone, then proceed to open opay app. Cos the new opay will require face recognition if pin is wrong and not otp. Always lock your phone settings and sim
When people are still thinking of how to source the next meal, these ones are remapping ancestral lands in order to claim oil subventions.
The federal government should enact a law that all disputed lands amongst communities which state governments are incapable of resolving peacefully should be forfeited to the federal government.
Krismas: but the said gigolo prophet came only after christianity! infact up till today, christians are still asking people to GIVE THEIR LIFE TO JESUS! forgeting that it was coined by the slave masters. as a prerequisite to boarding their slave ship, the slavemasters ask their victims to accept christianity or give ur life to christ. refusal, was met with instant death. acceptance meant the person's sweat and blood was now a possession of the slavemaster.
