AgricultureRe: Apple Cultivation In Nigeria.(pictures) by eaglechild: 5:15pm On Sep 28, 2014
I have actually planted apple and grape fruit seeds and they survived.

I cannot tell where the apples came from exactly but I used rich humus soil from the garden and a pot and they germinated.

The grape even started climbing and they out grew the pot.
I took the pot to my uncle who had a knack for farming and he transplanted them to his farm, in a shaded area, but they withered away shortly.

I'm guessing leaving them to the harsh tropical elements killed them off.

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that Boko haram is the brain child of the northern oligarch and APC.

Created to enslave their already impoverished populace.

The sad thing is that the SW is now buying into this ideology.

berem: The Sunday Times is a popular South African
Sunday newspaper. It has an audited
circulation of 504,000 and a weekly readership
of 3.2 million, making it the largest weekly
newspaper in South Africa. Recently it was
involved in exposing a corruption scandal
involving the South African government's US$6
billion arms deal. The newspaper was founded
in 1906.

Save yourself the info, I have read it a couple of times.

Remember "News of the world" in UK?
Well it was about the most popular and widely circulating English language newspapers in the world founded in 1843, but they were still involved in shady phone hacking deals.

It is not about how big, old or popular but the content and reportage.

I am just questioning the credibility and seriousness of "The Times".

Comes across as a cheap tabloid that should be ignored.

No need flashing butts on their front page.

That's all.

Innovator90: Wow! Thanks man for the video...so hard to find recent updates on these projects. Very impressed by the magnitude and quality work. This Agulu 5-star resort is not a small project...just seeing it on video it looks very impressive. I like the idea of a resort; siting the hotel close to nature... beautiful Ogbunike Cave and Agulu lake. Cave Pics below.

I certainly agree with you that Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka need serious facelift. I have discussed this in detail in many of my posts. Doing this will revive these towns and propel the state to a larger limelight. Those Europe-looking high-rise buildings in Onitsha can look gorgeous if the thoroughfares and streets are modernized. I'm sure Obiano is very aware of this and working towards it...he was in Florida, U.S late last year, pretty sure he saw what inner cities and towns look like and took notes.

Obi governance style of Bottom-up(more rural emphasis to urban) development is not bad as some people have criticized him for. In hindsight, it developed rural communities and raised standard of living. In all of my travels, Anambra is one of few states that has holistic development; where basic necessities of life are met in virtually all communities. I think the time is right NOW for the government to focus more on the three major cities...massive transformation. Obiano strong emphasis on Anambra security and ridding it of criminals is needed to attract investors.

Anambra government is on overdrive.
Agreed
His overdrive mode should please extend to Nnobi Ekwulobia road.
Yes it is an FG road but he can at least get the bad parts refurbished, it is a busy major route.
PoliticsRe: Enugu Tackles Multiple Taxation, Inaugurates Mercedes Benz Center by eaglechild: 8:01am On Sep 20, 2014
This just goes to show that a liveable city will ultimately attract investment.

Governments should strive to make their states more liveable so that investors can have a conducive environment to do business.

Christianity EtcRe: FG not doing enough to prevent anarchy -Catholic bishops by eaglechild: 7:51am On Sep 20, 2014
The government "should do more" is what the CBCN said.

Now interpreting it as "the government is not doing enough" may seem to have the same meaning but the latter is more brazen and confrontational.

Anyone who thinks this has anything to do with Ayo Orisejafor is a legendary dolt.

This is what you get when poorly constructed drainage systems get blocked by refuse and the state sanitation agency does nothing.

This is also similar to the Ibadan situation.

A lot of the flooding we get can be averted by better planned drainage systems.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by eaglechild: 6:41am On Sep 13, 2014
Interesting how this thread has progressed.

Maybe in the past I would have discouraged certain comparisons as unnecessary troublemaking, but these exchanges are very important especially when done constructively.

Anyone who knew Enugu before Chime took over, can attest to its rundown state.
The capital city was dead, and the rural area were not any better.

Not one single road in Enugu was motorable.
Crime was festering with political thugs having more clout than the citizens.

The state was under the grip of a psychopathic clannish government.

Today the story is a different one.
Enugu has become one of the most livable cities in Nigeria.

What of Anambra?
Before Obi or I should say Ngige, Anambra was perhaps worse than Abia.
The education sector was dead, salaries were being owed.
Yet no new project was being executed.

The major cities were dead and the rural areas were barely accesible.
Today Anambra has the best rural roads with most of the towns easily accessible.
The cities still have a major challenge.

The two states simply developed in different directions.

Enugu tapped into one of its greatest asset which happened to be "Enugu city" a colonial well planned eastern capital which if revived has the potential to attract and sustain a tremendous amount of investments. Since Enugu is considered the regional capital, reviving the city was also a necessary face saving venture.

Anambra also explored its strong point which is a financially empowered populace that is spread over a sprawl of semiurban settlements that needs a functional connectivity. Hence the focus on "rural" development.

I simply think that the states chose the best routes they felt would impact their states given the individual peculiarities. Others may argue each chose the easy way out.

All I know is that whilst acknowledging the merits of each.
It will be extremely disastrous for us to now turn ourselves to sycopathic praise singers just to score a cheap point on who did better than who.

We still have a long way to go.

IGBOSON1: Let merit be the primary consideration for the day-to-day running of this country, that's all i ask......then watch where this country will be in the next 10 years! When regions/zones realize they're being left behind and that there's no free lunch anymore, they'll put in the extra effort and catch up with the rest!

Those that feel they need quota-system and federal character to get on in life are doing themselves no favors! Think i'm joking?.......Just take a look at the North: they've been aided with these twin retrogressive policies to stay in touch with the rest since the end of the civil war, and it's made them believe they can still get on in life without putting in the effort! The world doesn't work that way!
Excellent.

The developed world is so because they believe and abide in meritocracy.

Quota system is an aberration of the normal natural selection (that betters a society) and must stop.

Notice a somewhat similar pattern to WAEC.
