cjrane: Sweet panoramic shot! The roads are actually marked but the markings are blurred in the picture. One thing that is readily noticed and which I kind of like about Enugu is the the way the different socioeconomic strata blend in. That picture has what looks to me like a 2012/3/4 toyota landcruiser, two tokumbo 2004 Toyota highlander, and a lovely looking blue (not quite sure) 80s Toyota corolla wagon. Enugu is one of those few places where recognition and respect is not overtly about wealth. And it is "cool" to be polite. |
Kudos to Innoson. With prices starting at 1.5 million the demand will be very high. |
Going through all the posts here, I am utterly devastated that the Rivers state government has succeeded in spreading blatant lies against a dead doctor who cannot defend himself. But I will categorically state that the doctor had absolutely no knowledge that he was treating a primary contact. The wife who is also a doctor alerted the authorities based on the symptoms that preceded the spouse's death. These were more specific haemorrhagic symptoms unlike that of the diplomat which were non specific and thus undetected. The diplomat was treated primarily at the doctor's hospital. The diplomat withheld history of contact. |
Now I know that government officials can lie shamelessly. The doctor had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA he was treating a contact. The said contact was treated in the doctor's hospital. The doctor's symptoms made the wife to alert the authorities to investigate the incident. The Rivers state government is telling a blatant lie against a dead person that cannot defend himself. |
Emmalot121: So 65.92% to you is a great job, what happend to the remaining peeps? They failedWhat a truckload of bullcrap. You have extricated yourself from one claim( being the most educated) now you claim SWesterners prefer schooling abroad ![]() Better look inwards and solve your problem. Falling standards of education is inversely proportional to rising poverty levels. Which is directly proportional to militancy thuggery and religious extremism. Better nip it in the bud now.

OrlandoOwoh: If you don't know how WAEC scripts are shared in all the states, ask to be told. Scripts are taken outside the geo-political zones of where the candidates sat for the exam. I marked scripts from outside the South West, where I was. That even makes the results all the more indicting. What it means is that with your strict expertise you marked the scripts that were possibly coming from the SE and they still performed well. |
OrlandoOwoh: I was among the examiners who marked last WAEC. I know what I'm saying. I still remember how a team leader reacted when I was so strict in my marking. Are you saying your colleagues are lenient. But that hasn't helped your state performance. Which means that if they used Anambra standards to mark it, they will perform even worse. ![]() |
OrlandoOwoh: Are these not the same people that are withdrawn from various higher institutions on the ground of power academic performance?Lol! Keep deceiving yourself. Better wake up to the reality, your lies have been uncovered. |
babyosisi: NoYes actually, I meant to say after which the patient is infective, but because it varies so much, it means the patients can become sick at different times. For patient A he can become sick just after 2 days of being infected and thus becoming infective. Unlike another patient who can become sick after 21 days etc. I have modified my post. |
What could be responsible for the falling standard of education in the SW. Or is it that the SE is just taking its rightful place? Just look at Ebonyi state, some years back it was classified as educationally disadvantaged. But just within a space of about 5 years it has leaped into 11th position. Anambra is widening the gap. What are other regions doing wrong? |
SambisaKing: Lagos a no man's land is 7th because of the Igbobrains there, if not because of them Lagos will be contesting 22 position with her opon imo brandishing spiderman on cartop ![]()

This is really great. I just wonder if he can meet up with demand, cause if the starting price is 1.5million then that makes it very attractive. |
PapiWata: Evil does exist in reality, and encouraging impressionable people to avoid treatment for a deadly virus is without question an act of deliberate evil, for it is an effort that seeks to MAXIMIZE the number of people killed if the virus continues to spread in Africa.Thank you. I do not understand his motive really. |
GenBuhari: PropagandaDo you really believe what you wrote or are you just seeking attention? Nigeria is the only country on earth where wild polio virus cases were recorded in the recent past (in northern Nigeria). Polio would have been an eradicated disease but do you know why it is not. Some irresponsible people started a rumour that polio vaccine was a hoax, in fact they claimed that their children were being infected with HIV, so they rejected the vaccine and the disease made a comeback. Look at the number of innocent children who get paralyzed because of a seemingly harmless rumour. You may not have any idea what you are doing( i hope, cause if you do you are simply evil) Ebola has been in existence since 1976 along with other haemorrhagic fevers like Marburg, Lassa Yellow fever etc. It has been in the medical curriculum since then it wasn't just invented now. My colleagues have died from it and one lies ill with the baby presently. Please if you have any conscience left in you i implore you to desist from spreading this type of information. You can believe what you choose to but please do not drag gullible people who are looking for a denial strategy out of this situation. Ebola is real. Early detection and diagnosis can save a life of an infected individual. So if you are a contact or know any contact the key is to report early. Luckily, the present outbreak in Nigeria has a mortality rate of less than 50% unlike the previous outbreaks with a much higher mortality(close to 90%) |
I believe the minister of health is joking. He claims the 1,9billion naira released for Ebola management is meant for the general use of the ministry and he would use it to purchase vehicles. That center should have seen more funds and should look better. I hope they are not finished yet. |
GenBuhari: I never ever said not to take your usual protection against contagious diseases. All I said is not to panic, Ebola is a hoax and I have listed countless reasons why I believe it is a hoax and nobody has been able to give any rebuttal to any of my points.Do you really believe what you wrote or are you just seeking attention? Nigeria is the only country on earth where wild polio virus cases were recorded in the recent past (in northern Nigeria). Polio would have been an eradicated disease but do you know why it is not. Ridiculous and very irritating cartoon. |
babestell: You sound so sure about what you are saying. But merely affirming it will not convince people.Just saying what happened. |
abagoro: I was last in Ibadan in 2008 and the impression I got was a large rural cluster. In the Igbo world old Ibadan cannot be considered a township because the houses are short and are mostly owned by indigenes and arranged in family quarters. However in reality Ibadan can be defined as an ancient city with modern offshoots. It was the 2nd largest city in land mass after Lagos but I doubt it is bigger than Port-Harcourt area today. Going by 2006 google pictures, Lagos is by far the largest in Nigeria by land mass but much smaller than Cape town area of South Africa. Ibadan comes 2nd and Kano 3rd, Kaduna 4th, Benin 5th and PH 6th. However today Port-Harcourt seems to be dragging for the 2nd position with Ibadan. You have succeeded in making sense .But I think you forgot Abuja metropolitan area. |
lirusehn: liar of a fox.I can barely understand what you wrote. However, I am not lying. You are exhibiting what I fear and I am wary of. Denial, which may well be a consequence of believing the propaganda being spread about the illness. Please be wise and protect yourself. Bye. |
lirusehn: .Ebola is real. My colleagues have paid with their lives. Thanks. |
lirusehn: how is Ebola everyone's Problem??I am not paid. I am only fully aware of the tremendous risks involved when people believe false information and let their guards down. |
ITbomb: Be informedWhat the OP is trying to say is that the name of the diplomat has been withheld while that of the doctor was released. That to me is double standards. |
lirusehn: now talk to me! What do u want the mods to do?? Deactivate his acct??I am sorry but this thread is for serious minded people. And Ebola is not just my problem but everyone's. |
Superstar007: You can un-share a postOK thanks. Just saw the unshare option. Initially what I saw was Shared. I think it was upgraded. |
Please, I want to issue an alert on the moderators and the general users of nairaland . Despite repeateded complaints, reports and pleas, the moniker GenBuhari has continued to spread wrong propagandist information on the Ebola virus outbreak. He claims it is not real but only a hoax. He keeps advising the general public to ignore the safety tips on Ebola prevention and go about their normal business. He has clung unto this belief despite all evidence to the contrary. Judging from the comments, some people are beginning to buy into this belief system. I implore on the moderators to please bring this extremely dangerous trend to a stop. I implore other members of nairaland not to believe or encourage this. Remember what happened with HIV AIDS when people refused to believe? Ebola is real, the victims are real. Real people are lying ill from the disease. The menace can be curbed if we collectively observe the stipulated safety measures. |
babyosisi: Same thing I wonderYou should recall the incubation period is a wide range 2-21, after which the patient is infective. For the diplomat to have sought treatment in a hospital, it means he was ill. |
GenBuhari: Stop panicking you are not going to die - its a hoaxYou deserve a life ban ![]() I have persistently pleaded with you to desist from such act yet you refuse to listen. These are real people we are talking about. |
Seun apparently one cannot "unshare" a shared post. Modified. Just got corrected. I can see the unshare button. |
AlfaSeltzer: I am suggesting we allow them freedom of speech even if we don't agree with what they profess. ![]() But they have refused other people their freedom of western education which they claim is evil. And have demonstrated that they will stop at nothing to deny people that. They have bombed schools and abducted innocent people opposed to their beliefs. They have refused other people freedom of worship. I hope you really do not mean what you are saying. |
GenBuhari: So what you are saying that nothing can convince you Ebola is a hoax?I beg you to stop this. I sincerely ask that you stop because you have absolutely no idea what the consequence of your belief system is, esp if other gullible people begin to buy into it. Please stop. Ebola is real. The victims are real people. Real people have died and real people are lying ill right now, suffering from Ebola. It is not a hoax. |

.Considering the population and exam malpractice, though South West is not excluded and I'm in no way happy or supporting the failures. The Nigerian educational system is one that craves for deligence over intelligence. To show you how wrong you really are about using your ill prepared fact deficient and unrealistic assertion, can you compare the cut off of southwestern universities including the prestigious unilorin to the below par schools in those regions mentioned, not to talk of the rate of investment in Education in southwest.
