Chief Tapioca: They came to Anambra alive...

Ibos should take it up from there. They should feed and care for their kinsmen. If Ibos are as good as they claim then we shouldn't be hearing of any of the re-united Ibo Almajjiris being sick or in critical condition. This shows Ibos are only good at chest-beating and playing victim. They actually don't care about themselves.

Why allow them to die in AlaIgbo??

It shows also how Peter Adaobi wants to play politics and whip up sentiments with the lives of his people.

Should any of them die, the blood will haunt Peter Obi( and all Ibos who failed to help them) down to their graves and beyond.

cool cool
Pray such sentiment is not wide spread..... For those supporting this evil, don't be surprised when evil is brought at your door-step.

The Igbo traders have refused to recognise the new Baba Oloja as the leader of the market insisting that Igbos traders are over 99% of . The Igbo traders traders claimed they are not aware of the reason the troop have been drafted to their Market, other than Lagos state government intimidation and bullying them to accept a man that cannot win even one percent if a leadership election i conducted today. Politics › Re: Why Did Ibos Support The Deportation Of Yorubas Earlier In 2011? by eagleeye2: 2:37pm On Aug 02, 2013
When Yorubas were deported to other Yoruba states in 2011 by Fashola, why didn't Ibos make noise?

Doesn't it seem tribalistic that the same Ibos are now making noise?

When SS/SE deported Lagosians from Akwa-Ibom, why didn't Ibos protest the deportation of Yorubas?
If you can get the thread on that 2011 *deportation* may be we can analyse it.
It is not every Igbo that supports undemocratic act(s). How can you possibly applaud the *deportation* of fellow Nigerians regardless of tribe, religion or language. Not too long ago a governor in the SE asked Civil servants who are not from the state to leave the service, we all condemned it. Igbo, Yoruba, SS all rose up with one voice and condemned that act. Why then do some people only think that an act capable of leading to anarchy in Nigeria will be applauded by some who have not really lost sight of what true democracy in a Federal system stands for?

oshyno: Lagos State obliged but found no Anambra State Government Representative on arrival at the agreed date
and was hence forced to leave the people at a government office they found at the Niger Bridgehead.

a commissioner and many others into other cabinet positions.

For promotion and maintenance of the good relationship that exists between the Igbos who form about 25% of the population of Lagos State and their Lagos host, I have secured an appointment for you, the President and Executive members of Aka Ikenga to further discuss this matter and other sundry issues affecting Ndi Igbo in Lagos State, with the Lagos State Governor on a date that will be mutually agreed by both parties.

, I wish to further reassure you and Aka Ikenga in particular and Ndi Igbo in general, that the government of Lagos State, that I am familiar with does not and will not harbour any anti Igbo agenda, as being, insinuated in some certain quarters.

Accept as usual the assurances of my highest regards.

Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, MD, OON, KSJ

Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District

( Former Governor Anambra State, 2003-2006 )

So 4am is the agreed time, I assume that because Senator Ngige only said that the event occured at the agreed date but no time was stated.
Also Lagos state, one of the states making up the Federal Republic of Nigeria has become a *host state* to some citizens of Nigeria...... Senator, I believe you know best.
my advice is that my Anambara brothers and sisters should reply senator Ngige at the polls

PointB: Mr Ngige,

Did Fashola tell you how long those people were in his detention camps? You reported that most of them had no relatives in Lagos, what about those who had relatives, was effort made to to reach them? Were they aware that their missing relatives were languishing in some detention camps?

Did the Anambra State Government agree to receive all those dumped on the bridge including none Anambra indigenes?

Let's call a spade a spade, it was the the most unkindest cut by Fashola at the heart of these people. I surmise that their only crime is that they were presumed poor and couldn't speak .Yoruba
Ngige will support anyone he thinks has the political muscle to get him elected into Govt House Awka (his romance with Uba is not yet forgotten)..

EmekaAkin: Are you sure this your study was well researched or just a conspiracy theory, A poster just mentioned that Tejuoso was not demolished as you earlier claimed but now you are justifying your error with another argument.
EmekaAkin,
I am not just another conspiracy theorist. If Eko-Ile or any of those guys at LASG will be honest enough they will tell you that Fashola's main policy is transforming Lagos to a Mega/Modern city.
Tejuosho market got burnt a number of times, but those times it never affected all parts of the market. But after the last one, LASG decided to drive everybody out of the market to re-build it. At least the original traders there before it got burnt where not given the top priority. What LASG did was the set the shop prices at exorbitant rate without consideration of the people there before the re-building.

Ola Johnson: You lied, Tejuosho market got burn not demolished.
I know someone was going to bring up this arguement of burning. Okay, after the "burning" (I even lost count how many times) what happened?
After rebuilding Tejuosho, what happened to those who owned shops there? How many of them where given the rights of first refusal during the allocation?
At what price/fee, where the new shops going for?
My dear Ola, Fashola and his government knew what they were doing.

Billyonaire: Deporting 67 Igbos can not stop Igbo domination of the Lagos Economy, and can not stop 670 Igbos boarding 'Young Shall Grow' buses to Lagos next 24hrs.
This is what I am getting at...... Nigerians from all tribes will keep flocking to Lagos, no matter what Fashola does.
He should keep up with his developmental strides, and leave this "deportation" thing alone. He will just rile people up against his government.

EmekaAkin: Are you sure you actually completed a Masters degree? What is this noise about "anti-poor people", Can you give us a brief synopsis of what you are on about?
Please, I hate to reply people who don't understand what "civility" means. There are some people on this forum who understands what I am talking about.
Just to humour you, I will advice you to study Fashola's development policies and the Mega-City concept and tell me what Fashola is actually aiming at...
Take a look at the new Tejuosho market (and the relocation of traders and hawkers);
Look at Oshodi (and how it used to be);
What about the banning of Motor-cyclist; and other developmental policies.
I commend his ideas and policies to an extent. But trying to see if he can rush things before his tenure ends is really not a good Idea. One day Lagos will become a Mega-City, but "deporting" fellow citizens is hardly the way to achieve it.
Politics › Re: Orji Kalu Threatens To Sue Fashola Over Forced Relocation Of Igbos by eagleeye2: 1:46pm On Jul 30, 2013
ilugunboy: Double speak...

If Fashola is anti-poor, then the Ibos shouldn't have any worry....at least you all are doing fantastic buying up Banana Island..Parkview...Lekki..Ajah...Eko Atlantic city and other choice properties.
You make me laugh when you say Double-speak. I have never been part of those Igbo guys on this Forum or elsewhere who boast of Igbos this or that...
I am not just condemning Fashola's actions because I am Igbo, I am doing so because I am a Nigerian who have lived in different Geo-political zones at one time or the other. What Fashola is doing cannot been done in 8years. It is impossible.
This was a guy who depended on majority of the low income earners from all tribes in Lagos to win Election. But he now want to drive the same people out by making people think that he is building a "modern/mega city". His plans are achievable, but not in his time as Lagos state Governor.
The more he "deports" the poor people of Nigeria (Not just Igbos) the more Luxury and Shuttle buses bring more people to Lagos.

ilugunboy: Chest beating and delusion at it's peak.

The truth is you folks have absolutely no bargaining power to force Fashola to meet your terms.

If push come to heavy shove, you elders and red cap chiefs will always head to Alausa or Bourdillon to apologize.
Don't always be too sure of that.... the outcome of some actions are not always predictable..... Moreover, I am hardly one of those who do "chest beating" as you and your ilk calls it...
At least I have stayed in Lagos and have a good grasp of what I am saying.
Fashola is Anti-Poor people, it may soon back fire.

Why is this man(kalu)who ran My alma mata to near collapse be crying foul over what he is partially responsible for due to the way he ran abia state like his family buisness.

Has he forgoten so easily that in his own state under his own nose, authentic civil servants who are almost nearing retirement age(majority from anambra and imo with few northerners and yoruba's)were relieved of their duty.oh.do u "orji kalu" realise how painful that is?for 20 yrs u lived in a state as a civil servant unda the guise that ur job is secure and all of a sudden u r told to leave? Orji kalu what did u do?nothing.dis guys that were deported cn always go back.but what of the civil servants.please speak for them or forever remain silent and stop seeking for relevance and undeserved recognithon for fighting the wrong battle.
Kelechi, which year are you talking of? I will like you to quote the year that Kalu relieved civil servants from other states off their duty.... If possible back up with evidence.

TheBookWorm: Fashola is not waging a war against Igbo people.

He is waging a war on poor people. The governor has deported fellow Yoruba before as well as Hausa.

The common link is that they all were said to be beggars.
I believe that we both are viewing this from the same angle. Fashola wants to turn Lagos to a Modern City within 8years, and he thinks he wil meet his Target date by pushing away the poor.
While doing my masters, I told some friends that Lagos State Govt. is Anti-Poor people.
Thank God someone else believe so too. But, he (Fashola) may meet his water-loo if he doesn't take it easy with the Igbos.

It's a pity that OUK and T.A. Orji are no longer in good terms. This is the time I would have love both men to team and hand pick all the foreigners doing both legit business and otherwise and send them all packing from Abia State. Those two OUK & T.A. Orji are the only two Igbo Leaders I know that can take such actions.
I saw this type of shitz happening when I was schooling in Lag. Tejuosho Market demolition and subsequent rebuilt was the danger signal that most Igbos ignored...
I guess the worst is yet to happen to Igbos before they will look home-wards.
