question for prof;
If you did not make a third class from UI, what class of degree did you make?
Can you provide evidence to back your claim that you didn't make a third class?
I read somewhere else that Prof did not complete his programme in the University College Ibadan (Now UI). That is a plausible excuse.
Nota Bene
Your class of degree does not diminish my admiration for your literary works.

The South-South votes will no longer be 90% as it was in 2011. Some politicians in the South-East are calling for Igbo presidency.
GEJ is on a long thing if you ask me.

It's a pity these politicians seems to be unwittingly begging the military boys to come and take over.
GEJ, may feel secured in the fact that an Igbo man is the Chief of Army Staff, but he and other politicians shouldn't forget that in the face of Mutiny Ihejirika can do little or nothing.

Fhemmmy: I think this is an answer to the problem . . .
1. The love is gone and you are just about to start loving him again, yet he still wanna be running around.
2. He was not ready for the "My wife" thing thus, his love for bachelorhood.
3. You have the feelings, he is only with you cos of the child, and this means anytime someone else is able to give him a child outside - Marriage on the Rock!
4. He knows you dont love him and yet he does not care.
Honestly, i have no idea how to advice in this, cos both parties are so much apart . . . Good luck
ehm.... ehnm...... Am a bit confused.
Hubby no love op.
Wifey(op) no love hubby.
So, what are they still doing? I hate this Idea of, "it is because of our child".
OP, call your husband and talk to him (since he knows that you guys are not into each other anymore), let him realise that you are ready to have an open marriage (for the sake of your kids, you will still be Mrs).
Let him know that anytime he takes his usual sabatical, you too will take up a side kick untill he returns. If he objects, then you tell him to always stay around his kids.
More especially, Re-Introduce the use of Condom in the bedroom as someone said earlier..... AIDS is real and if you don't take care shi.t will hit the fan.

please guys, we should try as much as possible to reduce this "my tribe is better than your attitude", believe it's not going to lead the present generation of youths anywhere.
Have you ever thought of why, "my tribe is better than yours" card is not played by any of our politicians unless they have commited an offence. But when it comes to sharing our common patrimony (AKA the national cake) it is never raised.
Come 2015 some of the elites will start shouting
"IT IS THE IGBO MAN'S TURN"
"THE NORTH OR NOTHING"
"NIGER DELTA DESERVE TO COMPLETE THEIR TENURE"
"IF OUR MAN CANNOT BE THE PRESIDENT, THEN OUR OIL SHOULDN'T BE SHARED BY ALL"
And so on and so forth.
After 2015, the same circle of corrupt persons who have held these nation in bondage will continue.
The same old cargoes will be chairman and minister of these and that.. Their children will have the most lavish and ostentatious parties in Nigeria and elsewhere.....
Yet we will come to NL, abusing one another with "MY TRIBE IS BETTER THAN YOURS".
it is time to think.
My brother I totally agree with you but as long as I am alive, I would not allow anybody insult or taunt my tribe by calling us cowards because we refused or did not share some person's inordinate ambition. Obviously the Hausa-Fulani leaders gained from Nigeria but the ibo land which was ravaged during the civil war is far ahead of Northern Nigeria. Tribalism is our main problem in this country
That is my point. our leaders (I would rather call them elites) have continued the tradition of Divide and Rule.
Nigerians are very emotional about their Tribe, but if we look very well all tribes have The Greedy Elites in them. These elites are the same all over Nigeria, the DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE MASSES.
Be it the Igbo Elites, Yoruba Elites or Hausa-Fulani Elites.
Your fellow common man from another tribe will help you without asking for anything in return, before an elite from your kindred will render a helping hand.
But we the masses will keep fighting one another over TRIBE & RELIGION because one-so-called Leader have used the emotional plea of tribe & religion to appeal to our sentimental hearts.
We need to start identifying our real enemies, and start call for a true national dialogue. (National Conference).
Finally from the history notes one can say the Yorubas are not cowards after all(as the Igbos particulary want people to believe) and dealt with the Biafrans in combat where need be.Counting several victories and brave expeditions. Again it is only a fool that will see the quiet nature of some people as a general weakness to its own. shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked
From the great man account, it is also evident yet again that Biafrans committed atrocities, invaded the midwest and lied about it via Biafra PR/spokesman Achebe. lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed
Again and Again history has shown that war is not an answer. That peace remains ultimate. Obj the player always never seize to amaze.I think he had thought about PDP since and was in PDP even during the war. grin grin grin grin
Again, you miss the point. How many of the brave Yoruba soldiers, including this Brigadier-General Alabi, really gained from the spoil of the war? I believe these Brave Yoruba soldiers fought with their hearts and for the True Unity of Nigeria, but they were left to hang and dry after the war.
People like Danjuma, IBB, Abacha and other Hausa-Fulani people gained the spoils of the war. Oil Wells and Power.
Even Isaac Adaka Boro, who thought he was fighting the Igbo oppressors died in questionable circumstance.
Again, are we willing to still fight on behalf of the ELITES, or we should all think and come to a National Conference and decide how we are to be governed and how we are to make the best of this contraption Called Nigeria?
Tribalism is a weak arguement to continue the way we are.

we can point all the accusing fingers at different tribes and players of the past, but let us not miss the point of this thread.
It is not about trading blames, it is about searching ourselves and asking ourselves that difficult question "is it still possible to turn around this big ship called Nigeria, which seems to be going round in circles without thinking of going ashore".
This thread and some others about the civil war, is a pointer as to what went wrong, how can it be corrected.
The major beneficiaries of oil wealth after the civil are not really the people that fought the war with their heart and for the unity of Nigeria. Are we ready to sit and talk or do we still want to fight for the parasitic elites in Nigeria?

You seem to really have great faith in the contraption called Nigeria. I used to, but not any more.
If Nigeria must be great and really united, we must address history and have an open and sincere national conference. Any other thing is fooling ourselves.

Let us watch how this plays out!
The government of Abia State is nothing but a Rogue Government.
Some of the Levies Op listed above are served by different Agencies. What I mean is that "okeke and sons" may serve Infrastructure levy today and after paying up, Nwafor ltd will bring the same Infrastructure levy to your door-step claiming you have not paid up, if you bring your receipt from Okeke and sons, the agent will say that it is not government approved.
Well said and I agree on most of your points. Yes, the Aburi accord could have gone a long way to put into place different structures that Nigeria still struggles to put in place today. The reasons are obvious. However, blame the FG, Gowon and many others too many to list, the accord failed in large part because Ojukwu rather than accepting perhaps 90% of that agreement chose an all or nothing approach. This is NEVER a successful way to handle things, it's like cutting off your nose to spite your face well because the nose is not your preferred shape. Who loses? Well, up till today most parts of Nigeria are still losing!

However, that was 40+ years ago, what makes it impossible for a country to correct a problem in over 40 years?? Could you imagine in the personal life of a man, he still cannot correct errors after 40 years? Well, all of Nigeria FG, Gowon, Ojukwu, and ALL OF US, especially the stoop.id Nigerians who support and vote for useless national leaders like we have now are to blame!
Again the bolded. FG under Gowon wanted to control the resources of the different states in the federating unit, (AKA RESOURCE CONTROL) I believe that is what the Niger Delta is fighting for now.
The part two of the bolded, why it is impossible to work things out?
It is impossible because, you need to address the major causes of people's grievances... that is why I said revisit history and come back to the drawing board.
No, it is NIGERIA - a country that has refused to plan for its people, their welfare, healthcare, etc. There is absolutely NO REGRET for fighting the war,
Even many Nigerians who live in the West, people like me, some of us earn over N 1 M in one month doing what we absolutely love not struggling to do a boring, repetitive job or in MTN, Globacom, or some Oil & Gas company where all you get for killing yourself in traffic, breathing in smoke and dust, bracing for threats from BH, militants, thieves, etc is a N 300,000 - N400, 000 per month! These ones are the super lucky ones, or you will hold your life in your hands and become a politician, a bootlicker, any government in power, ritualism, etc to make millions you may not even live long to enjoy or spend with peace of mind! When Nigeria fixes its problems, people like General Adekunle, big or small Nigerians will be guaranteed a decent living and healthcare. Ibos (former biafrans) should quit seeing this as some kind of karma, it is not!
I love the bolded part of your response... Read the Aburi accord, and reflect on what would have been if Gowon and FG had not reneged on that agreement....
When will Nigeria get it Right?
When will Soldiers, fight with Honor and be brave in the face of death Knowing their family and loved ones can depend on the State to provide for them?
When will Nigerians be partriotic enough and sound as happy as you are sounding (being in their fatherland and not some foriegn country?
Nigeria must and should go back to the drawing board and revisit History, with clear and open mind.

tsalam: do you read the part where Isaac adaka boro was killed. maybe you can use google to learn green on blue attack.
He wrote there in his book which he called My Command. We had never had a thousand casualties. From Calabar to Port Harcourt, 480 kilometres, I had only eight dead. Among these were two officers–Captain Fashola and Isaac Adaka Boro. In his book, he said Isaac Boro went on a social visit.
He did not. The man left me at 6 o’clock after he came for his orders for final battle into Port Harcourt. And after receiving the orders, he died at 6.15 in the morning. He was going back to his unit and saw a building that was locked with the windows shut. Usually, an officer would ask the orderly to go see what is inside. He went there himself and opened the door. The soldier had only one bullet left and shot Boro. I have the picture of the soldier in my book. When we captured him, we had to send him to the headquarters, because my mother had told me I should never shoot anybody that was looking at me in the eye. I wrote it in the book. I just sent him to the headquarters, but my photographer ran with me and took the picture. I didn’t even let the soldiers beat him up. Adekunle should not have been removed. The proper thing was to have sent him on a month-long holiday in Lagos. I was in the trenches, but I was enjoying myself. I didn’t experience too much stress.

Read the bolded
My dear we have two accounts of eye witnesses. it is his word against tha of OBJ on how Isaac Adaka Boro died.

assuming we believe his own, how does the stress experienced by the soldier who allegedly shot Boro, compare with that of Adekunle who planned a PRE-MEDITATED MURDER?
