Hello Everyone,

I'm almost done with service and I've been considering Helsinki even before I left school cos I don't want to go back to UNILAG for Masters since I heard Helsinki is tuition free and its a better school.

I know that applications will open by December 1 though I have a FunMia account t already, I want to ask the following questions:

1) How much will I spend on the process in total?

2) Is it worth it as I'm not really financially buoyant and I'm self sponsored on this one?

3) What are the things I may need to put in place ahead of the application period ( I have my certificate, statement of result)

4) I also want to be sure if its TOEFL I'll do since our country is non-EU!

PoliticsOpen Letter To Governor Rauf Aregbesola By A Corper by easrael(op): 8:46pm On Jun 11, 2015
Your Excellency Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola,

I wish to express the heartfelt disdain of all Batch B Corp members presently serving in the State of Osun with just few weeks to our passing out. It was joyous when many of us received our call up
letters into NYSC showing that our orientation would be in the NYSC Permanent orientation camp, Ede with the State of Osun being our abode for the next 365 days.

> It was with greater joy when many heard that the State of Osun pays a monthly stipend of #5,000 and we received the news to register our bio-data at our various zonal offices and the State
Ministry of finance in Osogbo. Little did we know that it was going to be an effort in futility as months after this bio-data registration which some of us spent money as corp members to go and do, we have not received a beep on our mobile phones on behalf of the state government!

> This letter have become a thing of necessity as it is being claimed in some quarters that the money for our allowances have been released by your esteemed office but it has been pocketed by
some individuals.

> As a corp member, life has been quite expensive as indigenes try to take full advantage of our ignorance of the goods and services
offered by the host community, hence the palliative measure being put in place by some state governments to help corp members absorb the shock of been in an alien environment beside
the allowance being received from the Federal Government which have never ceased.

> I would like to appeal to your excellency to use your good office to look into this matter urgently as it’s been also rumored in some quarters that your esteemed office have planned to delay the
money till our passing out hence our forfeiting of the allowance.

> Please give this open letter your kind and fast consideration as all efforts to get to you privately have proved abortive.

> Thank you Sir
Yours in Service

PoliticsNASS Leadership: PDP Congratulates Saraki, Dogara, Ekweremadu ….hails Mark by easrael(op): 9:39pm On Jun 09, 2015
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated newly elected Senate President Bukola Saraki, his deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu as well as the new Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, noting that their elections underscore the fact that no section of the country should be neglected on national issues.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh in a statement on Tuesday described the development in both chambers of the National Assembly as “victory for democracy and triumph of the time-honored value of the PDP that every
zone and segment of the country must at all times be given a sense of belonging in governance”.

The PDP assured that it would continue to partner with like minds in other political parties and groups to ensure that the nation’s democracy, which it nurtured in the last 16 years is sustained in the overall interest of the Nigerian people.

“What is paramount to the PDP is the sustenance of our democracy and the wellbeing of our people, irrespective of creed, class or ethnicity. The PDP is therefore willing and ready to partner with like-minded individuals in other political parties and groups to sustain our democracy, ensure good governance and promote the unity and stability of our dear nation. Nigeria as a nation belongs to all of us. Its interest therefore must be put over and above personal, partisan or group interests at all times.

“In this regard, the PDP notes with gratitude, the immense contributions of the immediate past Senate President ‘the Baba of the National Assembly’, Senator David Mark for the decency and mature manner with which he ensured the smooth take off of the 8th National Assembly”, the party said.

The statement also commended the PDP Acting National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus for successfully galvanizing PDP members in both chambers of the National Assembly, which contributed to the peaceful conduct of the
elections.

The PDP charged its members in the National Assembly to continue to uphold the tenets of democracy and enforce the constitutionally vested parliamentary role of check and balances to ensure the much desired accountability and probity in the polity.

Finally, it urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop whining and accept the will of the people, respect the independence of the legislature, as the PDP is not responsible for their naivety and crass inexperience.

Signed:
Chief Olisa Metuh
National Publicity Secretary

I should be angry with this post....but I won't. Rather, I'll just laugh over your stupidity. For your information, registration of private hospitals follows a STRICT PROCEDURE....and this is handled at d level of d Lagos State Govt at Alausa, Ikeja, as well as HEFAMMA.....the process is to first of all get a building....then write an application to d Commissioner for Health seeking approval to set up a hospital....the proposed location will then be inspected by health officials to see if it meets up to required standards, and if it does, then permission is granted, and the processing begins.....and to further buttress your incurable ignorance, the investor DOESN'T HAVE TO GIVE ME A SINGLE KOBO.....he can pay for all the hospital equipment DIRECTLY TO THE SUPPLIERS....and he can also pay for the building rent DIRECTLY TO THE LANDLORD. He doesn't have to go through me....and of course I will CARRY HIM ALONG as we go through the registration process at Alausa, and we'll both obtain the letter of approval from Lagos state govt before a single kobo is spent.....and moreover this thread contains my phone number which I registered with MTN, who are in possession of my passport photo, fingerprint and address....so if you're so convinced this is a scam, then what are you waiting for? Take that info to the EFCC and make a concrete fool of yourself.......and lastly, coming from an individual who committed a CRIMINAL OFFENCE by ghosting through his NYSC service year as you confessed on this your thread www.nairaland.com/1932474/ghost-corper-house , you are the one who should have a questionable credibility. Good day.

Hello everyone. I'm a medical doctor currently based in Lagos. I'm considering the idea of opening a private hospital in Lagos, and I will need an investor for this. You will agree with me that this is a business that can NEVER FAIL, moreover with Lagos being d most-populated state in Nigeria with a staggering 20 million-strong population. Investment amount will depend on the type of hospital (small, medium or large). Investment will basically go into: 1) renting a building, preferably a duplex. 2) registration with appropriate bodies. 3) hospital equipment 4) customized papers/paraphernalia 5) drugs 6) furniture 7) electronics 8 ) Generator. If interested, contact me on 08131002053 or ifyclose2@gmail.com so we discuss more. Thanks.

UrennaNkoli:
The inauguration of Gov. Nasir El-Rufa’i of Kaduna State ended abruptly on Friday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that El-Rufai could not review the parade mounted by the police as some youths pelted dignitaries with water sachets, stones and other objects in the pavilion.

This prompted security agents to fire tear gas into the crowd at the Murtala Square, Kaduna.

NAN also reports that some dignitaries in the pavilion included the Emir of Zazzau, Dr Shehu Idris, and other traditional rulers in the State.

The incident occurred when the new governor had concluded his address and was about to mount an open van to review the parade mounted by the police.

While the crowds were dispersed by the police, dignitaries remained seated, but the occasion ended abruptly without the governor reviewing the parade.

NAN reports that the Murtala Square was filled to capacity.

Breaking: APC Osun State Gov Rauf Aregbesola Son, Kabiru arrested in Lagos MMA1 enroute UAE with over N178million #MoneyLaundering

This afternoon at the departure wing of the Muritala Muhammed Airport II, Lagos, there was a littlepandemonium over the arrest of a young man identified as Kabiru by people around and later identified as the son of the Osun State Governor over a huge sum of money being caught in his luggage as it was not accounted for by the young man.
Acccording to the eye witness who identified himself as Mr Steven Adebola told NGReports that while the environment was brought to calm after some calls were made to the senior immigration officers and finally the presence of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola which led to the conclusion that he's his son and the whole issue was settled in a senior officer's office!
Text messages were sent to the Commissioner of Information of the State of Osun's Government on the incidence as we asked if that was the remaining funds for campaign being laundered out of the country but he denied the purpose of the funds though he confirmed the presidential campaign funds were still remaining.

Investigations are still being done on the incident.

PoliticsRe: FG Killer Squad Targeting Opposition : APC by easrael(f): 5:28pm On Mar 11, 2015
talktimi:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised the alarm at the seemingly-targeted killing of its members and supporters in Rivers as this month’s general elections draw nearer, wondering whether those who are bent on suppressing the opposition at all costs have finally unleashed their killer snipers.

In a statement issued in Lagos on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the killing of nine APC members in two separate incidents in Rivers on Saturday night raises a very serious concern about the motive of the killings.

It said the fact that all those killed, including five at the D-Line of Port Harcourt and four along the Eastern By-Pass in the Marine Base near the state capital, were members of the APC is a clear indication that the killings may have been politically-motivated.

Also worrisome, APC said, is the freaky attack on Chidi Adi Amaechi, the younger brother of Rivers Governor Rotimi Amaechi and a student of Igbinedion University in Benin, by machete-wielding young men who stormed his room in the early hours of Wednesday (March 11th, 2015) and inflicted injuries on his head and arms. Chidi is currently being treated at an undisclosed hospital.

”It is difficult to see these attacks as a mere happenstance, against the backdrop of the ceaseless attacks on APC members and supporters in the Okrika council area of the state, where the opposition has been the victim of at least three bomb attacks, and the hate messages being purveyed by the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, who hails from Okrika.

”We know that because they have no answer to the runaway popularity of our party in the state, they are ready to do anything possible to prevent free, fair and peaceful elections there on March 28th and April 11th. By targeting opposition members and supporters, as well as their families, the anarchists will be hoping to trigger chaos and truncate the elections in the state. This is their plan, hence we are calling on the security agencies to act fast to fish out the killers in Rivers before they decimate the ranks of the opposition and scuttle the elections,” the party said.

It said the mindless killings in Rivers are placed in the context of the accusation by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, that the Jonathan Administration was training snipers secretly while 1,000 Nigerians have been placed on a watch-list, it will be logical to conclude that the increasingly-fascist Jonathan Administration may have finally unleashed the snipers on the opposition.

APC called on Nigerians in general and the civil society in particular to keep a tab on the killings of opposition members and supporters in the run-up to the forthcoming polls, with a view to exerting pressure on those whose duty it is to bring the killers to justice.

The party said, however, that President Goodluck Jonathan bears the ultimate responsibility for the cold-blooded murder of the APC members and supporters, especially because of his constitutional role of ensuring the security and welfare of the citizens, as well as his direct involvement – and that of his wife – in the political crisis in Rivers

”A President who has said, severally, that his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian must not keep quiet when innocent opposition members are being bombed, shot at or hacked anywhere in the country, and more particularly in a state where he has inserted himself in a needless political crisis,” it said.

APC appealed to its members and supporters in Rivers to remain calm but vigilant, saying they must never retaliate the killing of their colleagues in kind in order not to play into the hands of the anarchists.
