Walkee: I am from South South, I'm from Edo state, how is Jonathan, an Ijaw my son? Ok. But Jonathan represented the South-South zone. True or false? Peter Odili had to bury his political ambition to appease the Ijaws who clamoured for their man as Vice-President. Edo state might need to stake their claim whenever the slot get's zoned to the South-South in 2042. |

My cousin did. After the death of his parents, an aunt sent him to the US in 2019. In 2021, this dude returned to Naija citing one useless excuse that I can't understand. Like he literally bought ticket and boarded a plane himself from New York to Lagos before returning to the villa to the surprise of his siblings. Till now, everyone is still in shock. He lives in the villa currently doing nothing and surving from the little investment his elder bro is handling.
This dude in question is not a hard guy that will get himself in a drug related problem nor is he a womanizer or a troublesome person. And he has no plans on going back sincerely. Even if he did, I doubt anyone will make that mistake of funding his trip. |

The Ohaneze are extremely slow.
Even with the deaths caused by the Fulani herdsmen and the counter action by ESN, should have seen them going abroad for consultations, like the north did.
This would have stopped the youths who have now decide to do it themselves.
Is not only about 2023 presidency..
They should go to Chatham house, meet groups in (CFR) Foreign Relations in Washington...and other places.
It will enhance the confidence of the youths...over there.
Amb Obiozor knows all these. Yeah I agree. You made a good point. |

Walkee: no, blackmail didn't get anyone anything. In 1999, military and northerners wanted Obasanjo, Yorubas didn't even want him. In 2011 Jonathan won because he was already an incumbent and the oppositions was divided. In 2015 Buhari played smart by aligning with ACN and other small small parties. Go and check Buhari's votes since 2003. If ACN, CPC and nPDP didn't work together and build alliance there's no way Buhari would have won. Jonathan only became president because his boss died not because of militants I guess you didn't follow the intigues that led to the afformentioned group becoming President. 1. The SW conflicts between Yoruba vs the rest Nigerians from 1993-1999. OPC led the onslaught from asking for Oduduwa republic to asking that the rest Nigerians vacate the SW. We saw that with "Oso Abiola", the hijack of a foreign plane, bombs going off, the several clashes between Yoruba vs Hausa and the dreaded burning of non-Yoruba youths by Gani adams faction of OPC. 2. For the north, the Sharia riots during Obasanjo's tenure. It continued till they used that crisis to stake their claim to the Presidency with Obasanjo denying guys like Peter Odili, Donald Duke, Rochas, Okonjo-Iweala etc the Presidency for Yar'adua. 3. The Ijaws began their destruction of pipelines, killing military & police personnels and kidnapping oil workers. And despite given amnesty under Yar'adua, the boys threatened to go back to the creeks if GEJ was denied the Presidency at the demise of Yar'adua. Similar threats occurred towards the 2011 elections and also in the 2015 elections. I bet you didn't know all these as your analysis focused on just the gentleman talks. Maybe history will write same gentleman agreement by SE and the rest Nigeria when they mount the stool in 2023. |

Redcrafton: The process is too gradual..
If they had done this earlier it will have remove deaths caused by ESN and the security forces as they would have been doing what Kanu was doing...
International diplomacy...
The Ohaneze should grow up and act up.
Was the northern leaders action gradually. No.
They have ruled more than any region, but when they felt GEJ will not had over to the north..they went abroad...
Again the Igbo leaders should act up and save the region...
If they acted up the young people forcing sit at home would see that their elders are working and they might sheath the sword. Elections is next year. The south-east has international diplomats in their ranks Amb Obiozor — the current Ohaneze Ndigbo President was former Nigerian ambassador to the US. Like the north who first cemented the political advantage to themselves before meeting the US ambassador and other european embassy, the south-east want to first cement theirs and move on to meeting the international community. It's a gradual process. |

Walkee: Nobody is voting for anyone because of blackmail. Nobody from my region will vote for you after hearing nonsense like these. Blackmail got the SW the Presidency in 1999 - 2003. Blackmail got north the President with Yardaua taking that slot and Buhari emerging in 2015-2019 despite Boko-Haram and Sharia violence. Blackmail got south-south the Presidency in 2011 and nearly in 2015 with militants and Ijaw boys blowing hot air. If blackmail could get all these afformentioned groups the Presidency then the South-East is on the right track. They didn't do half of what the rest group did and so no one have any right to vilify them. A Nigerian President of Igbo extraction is the goal. South-East should not bow down. It's their God given right to ascend the Presidency just like others. |

The North seeing all these rancour between the east and west may just settle for a consensus candidate power may shift to the south-south. Did we tell you we want the President? You don't seem to understand the fears and worries of ohanaeze ndigbo who has been prevailing on undecided Igbo elites not to buy the IPOBs opinion, that they're negotiating for a better deal for ndigbo within the Nigerian space.
You don't seem to understand that the far right groups like the IPOB,massob, etc are winning already due to the glaring marginalization of Igbos in Nigeria. Many don't know this or they are just plain daft. Ohaneze-Ndigbo is telling the truth the way it is. 2023 will expose a lot. |
Politics › Re: 2023 Presidency Will Determine Igbo’s Stand In Nigeria – Ohanaeze by Eastlink(m): 9:16pm On Feb 15, 2022 |
OfoIgbo: Well said.
A few years ago, I once wrote that Igbos fall into 3 categories. 1. Those that want BIafra (mainly the artisans and such) 2. Those that want restructuring 3. Those that want a core SE man to assume the presidency in 2023, after many decades of Igbos not controlling the executive powers of Nigeria.
Already, the Biafran proponents have been making their feelings known and are spiritually no longer linked to Nigeria. But because these people are not the most educated set, they are restricted to being led by half-baked people who don't have what it takes to meander through the global political stage as it stands. This group is also being hampered and undermined by the activities of the Igbos that want the 2023 presidency.
The group that wants restructuring also see Biafra or Lower Niger Republic or the Ikenga nation as a restructuring exercise. They also envisage a properly restructured Nigeria. One thing they are against, is the status quo. So to this group, it is either Nigeria is properly restructured, or we all go our seperate ways.
The group that wants an Igbo man to occupy the presidency in 2023, is the group that practically controls the economy of Igboland and the elite. They are also the academics of Igboland, and people with varied global experiences in economic, political, diplomatic fields. If 2023 comes and goes without an Igbo president, this group will now have nothing to loose. They will team of with the Biafran group and the restructuring group, and possibly lead the agitation for Igbos to break away from Nigeria. This agitation will be well financed, and led by the right sort of people with the skills and international exposure to carry it out. The current IPOB agitation may look like a child's play, compared with the agitation that will follow, in 2023.
I don't envisage any 2023 presidency, having what it takes to pacify the coming agitation. What can such a person possibly tell the Igbo nation? That they will get the presidency in 2027? What then is wrong with Igbos getting it in 2023? The agitation will be unquenchable.
Any president that emerges in 2023 will never be perceived by the Igbos as a peace-maker. The person will possibly be seen as enemy number one. After all such a person will be deemed to be aware of the injustice against Ndigbo and still went ahead to take a presidential mandate that should have been given to a deserving Igbo man, just the same way Ogbonnaya Onuh stepped down for Olu Falae in 1999.
Any non-Igbo president in 2023 will definitely be holding unto a poisoned chalice. You hit the nail bro. Well said. |

Nice. I won’t judge a coach with a short stint of 1 month. It was obvious the coach Eguavoen needed time to understand his players and make them play to different tactics. This we saw in the AFCON. Eguavoen is sound and plays the Westerhoff system only that he needed a technical assistant to help him. The appointment of Amuneke is a right step in the right direction. Soar Super Eagles.
Eguavoen and Amuneke is a top combo. Wishing them all the best. And kudos to Pininick for convincing Amuneke. |

Van Der Sa Edwin was a late bloomer who was simply ordinary as a young goal keeper. Ofcourse he won the 1995 Champions League with Ajax and other major trophies with Man U but dude had a bad record with keeping clean sheet and ground balls.
Peter Cech Made his name in Nice and came to Chelsea to take the no 1 position from Hilario. Dude never looked backed and broke all goalkeeping records in England with the most clean sheet in Europe. Besides penalty which was never Cech forte, dude was good in up and ground balls. Some might say he was protected by a good Chelsea defence and flopped in Arsenal, but follks forget that Cech was already aged when he moved to Arsenal.
Buffon Gianluigi is a legend in the game but we cannot judge his overall club performance because he spent most of his years in Juventus (besides Lecce and PSG). Buffon won the world cup with Italy all thanks to that great defence mashalled by Cannavaro. Despite his quality and strong Juve defence, Buffon wasn't noted for clean sheets and was below the pecking order when goalkeepers like Casillas, Oliver Kahn, Cech, Van Der Sa and later Neur, De Gea, Courtois and Oblak ruled Europe.
My Choice For me, the best goalkeeper among them is Cech. At their prime, you'll pick Cech before any goalkeeper except maybe Casillas who still had his weakness with up balls. Neur is the other goal keeper you'll choose based on his exploits in his prime for club and country. Neur was a beast in ground, up, and penalty balls. Neur was a complete goalkeeper and become a force at a very young age and still relevant till today.
So I'll start Cech, bench Van Der Sa and sell Buffon. |
