It’s like skull mining has become a lucrative business in the SW. Ogun state government needs not shy away from this investment opportunity.

Ojiofor:
Ok
This is Okiro’s words during the burial of Ojukwu. “Ojukwu was a symbol of Igboland and a symbol of struggle against marginalisation’’

Although there are other known personalities of Igbo extraction in Rivers of whom I can’t remember, but Mike Okiro has never denied his roots. In acts and in deeds, you can vouch for him.

Ojiofor:
I know only Chief Mike Okiro even though he is Igbo but he is not an Igbo activist, can you point to any Igbo event any of them have attended?
Mike Okiro has always been involved in Igbo activities right from his days as Commisioner of Police Lagos state. Igbo traders in Lagos always talk good of him. The media would always want to paint him as a non-Igbo despite him clarifying his Igboness. Check the following events he has attended.

1. Okiro to chair 2nd annual Igbo cultural festival in Germany
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/08/okiro-to-chair-2nd-annual-igbo-cultural-festival-in-germany

Mike Okiro is the first Igbo man to assume the positon of IGP, but the press will always want to tell you it’s Ogbonnaya Onovo. Whenever it comes to attending Igbo activities he never tarries.

Ok. The following are proud Igbos from Rivers state.

1. Archbishop Daniel Okoh from Ndoni (ONELGA) General Superintendent of Christ Holy Church International aka Odozi Obodo.

2. Mike Mbama Okiro from Egbema (ONELGA). Former IGP of Police and a member of Ohaneze Ndigbo

3. Chief (Dr.) Ifeanyi Odili from Ndoni (ONELGA). Chairman of Aeromaritime Group of Companies, and former Director of many successful Companies including Baco Line of Germany and MTN Nigeria Limited, Brawal shipping limited.

4. Prince Ogbonna Nwuke from Etche. Former Commissioner for Information Rivers State and former member House of Representatives.

And many more including former ambassadors, ministers and businessmen from ONELGA, Etche, Omuma and Oyigbo.

A welcome development. Rivers state comes next after Imo finishes their turn. Mike Okiro from my town would be the best person to choose at the appropriate time.

I also listened to it too and I think its more of a miscommunication between Uche Mefor and Nnamdi Kanu. I hope both of them resolve their differences soonest. People will fall out from time to time, thats what makes us human. What is important above all else is that we Igbos get our own separate country out of this unworkable disaster called Nigeria.

Racoon:
Of course, governor Dave Umahi is entitled to his freedom of association but his should never sacrifice his selfish personal ambition on the alter of seeking a collective goodwill of the south east region.Politicians of his kind have trod & are still trodding the landscape.
What is the collective goodwill? Senate-Presidency as a major achievement for a supposed major ethnic group since 1999? And you list Ministers that even the smallest minority group have all attained. Shame on you all.
Politics › Re: Umahi’s Blind Ambition Is The Nemesis Of His Conscience - Senator Emmanuel Onwe by Eastlink(m): 8:03am On Nov 20, 2020
LegendHero:
What he’s saying is that the second fiddle spot the Ibos are playing in PDP can no longer be condoned.

If being a senate president is true power, then why are the Ibos clamoring for the slot of the presidency?

Since 1999, the Ibos have been giving the PDP bloc vote and still they don’t deem it fit to put an Ibo man on the ballot as a presidential aspirant, that exactly is Umahi grievances.

These guys opening threads showcasing senate president, speakers, and etc as contribution of PDP to the Ibos need to have their brain checked.

C’mon you guys are major ethnic group too, so man up and confront PDP for this injustice once and for all.
Inasamuch as we don’t align in the same stance, you made a big point. Those selling Igbo birthright in the PDP knows themselves and their end is near.
Politics › Re: IS NNAMDI KANU AN AGENT OF THE STATE? by Eastlink(m): 7:51am On Nov 20, 2020
I have said the same thing earlier, but IPOB zombies will come at you for daring to find fault with their Supreme Leader. Nnamdi Kanu works for PDP, his interest and actions are anti-Igbo.

If he isn’t endangering Igbo lives, he’s always at the throat of Igbo leaders. I bet you, IPOB are yet to receive their new orders to go full blown on Umahi.

But OP, your comparison with Boko-Haram is wrong. IPOB might have their faults but comparing Kanu with Shekau is like comparing apples and oranges, light and darkness.

Politics › Re: Umahi To Wike: Your Dictatorial Tendencies Will Destroy PDP by Eastlink(m): 9:36am On Nov 19, 2020
EastisBae:
Wike is the most foolish governor in Nigeria. The worst that can happen to a man is to be unreasonable and thoughtless yet thinks he is smart.

Wike is from a minority group, the ikwerre, but he was pulling weight that was far beyond his capacity. That weight was due to the enormous support he was receiving from Igbos, both IPOB and non IPOB supporters. Instead of him to be grateful, he turned around to attack his support base and made enemy out of them. He forgot that Hausas and Yorubas have never liked him but only tolerated his excesses.

At the moment, his greatest supporters are now his worst enemies and can't wait to see him humiliated.

Wike is now like an orphan, and is very vulnerable. If he continues to act recklessly like before, he would be thoroughly humiliated and nothing would happen.
You hit the nail about IPOB as Wike’s strong support base. But its obvious both have become enemies overnight.
Politics › Re: Obigbo Massacre:Igbos Protest Against Wike In Canada, Vow To Get Him If He Comes by Eastlink(m): 6:01am On Nov 19, 2020
Fake headline. The real title should be IPOB protest against Wike. No reasonable Igbo man will go to Canada and start forming nuisance.

Nnamdi Kanu and his boys should be careful, let them fight Wike themselves, and stop dragging Igbos into their stupidity.

Wike is s very wicked dictator while Umahi is a very selfish man. Ndi Igbo should come together and reform APGA. Give it a national outlook. If Apga starts working and displaying good governance, people from other region will gladly join in droves. Good governorship attracts people and interest. Ndi Igbo , note that nk'anyi bu nk'anyi ma nke fa bu nke fa.

I like what Umahi did.

We are done with playing mumu fpr one party in Igbo land. Its better we spread out.

We are done with voting our neighbours because somebody attached an Igbo name to his name. Track record is important.

We are done voting a goat or a monkey just because they are in PDP..

Lets do away with party politics. Its not the best way to produce good leaders..

Ndigbo lets do politics the way we do our business and stop sentiments.

In business we spread to all parts of the country and flow with people, in politics lets not create enemies for oursellves.

All we need to do is to be wise as serpent and as harmless as dove.

The level of bitterness displayed since Jonathan lost is so unnecessary . It was a case of crying more than the bereaved. Quite shameful.
Exactly! But some hegoats will bash you for this.

Gov Umahi defected to APC long ago before this unjustifiable move, which clearly has nothing to do with the interest of the Igbo nation.

This is a reflection of the type of leadership our country parades.

Though his action dampens hope for liberation, but I'm sure Nigerians will laugh last because sometimes, it will appear to have gotten so bad before it will begin to get better.
