Tis so dis-heartening. Sincerely, can't remember the last time I visited an eatery. The most annoying, is on Val's Day, you need to see the way babes queue for un-done fried rice, as if the taste on that day will be different! Fruits and home-made food has taken a back seat! No thanks to Noodles also. The 'Mama Puts' would have saved the day but they've killed it with Ajino-Moto and over boiling of veggies! How many babes even like 'Mama Put' @ all N/Land Men We are not the only culprits, you men have also joined the band-wagon with your incessant drinking and untimely eating! Most of you are also very guilty of this! See the way our young boys have pot bellies, na suit dey cover una secret! Most of you can't even sprint! Joor o! Well like the poster, a word is enough for the WISE! ![]() |

Tis very saddening to hear of the transition of Tayo Aderinokun, He was a man of integrity. I pray that God will give his family the fortitude to bear the loss. |
BraceletI agree with the above quote Cos issues like this should have been detected and dealt with in courtship [that's if you courted anyways] If she's reluctant in being accountable now, when will she she start being accountable, hope that's not a RED LIGHT? We should learn to cut our coat according to our cloth! After a 45mins ceremony and 2hrs [max] reception 2.5m is gone! no house rent there o! Be guided o! |

Tis funny how we seem to forget why clothing was invented; to cover unclothedness but the slang now is "the shorter the 'sexier' " Imagine a fat lady buying a 2yard 'aso-ebi' without the intention of adding any pcs to it. It is CRAZY! As a married woman, there's a responsibility to be a role model in dressing, habits, etc. but a lot of women haul all the 'single lady' junk into marriage. Pls all skimpy stuffs are strictly for the bedroom with your hubby being the only audience, that's the show room where you can be the strip girl and do whatever you fancy. Hey its in the mind! A faithful husband can carry that image of you all day long and see no other. Your exposure however in the public will not stop your husband's promiscuity. You can dress beautifully. the keyword is MODERATION Selah, |
We have been accused of promising to stand by a guy, through the thick and thin but we don't fulfill such promise. That is Whether na one Naira or One Million, So am asking if the female N/Landers agree to this, cos I don't agree. A lot of times, we stand through the thick and thin with our man but when success comes, he forgets the sacrifice. |
Undoubtedly, the track “One Naira” off Nigerian rap sensation, MI’s sophomore album MI2 is easily a fan favourite. Coming off a much anticipated, yet not-quite-up-to-par with his hit debut album. The track dwells on the idyllic topic of romance with or without finance. Well, as nice and as well-meaning as it may sound, One Naira tries to sell us a lie – the lie that love (the true one as well as the fake one) does not require money. Like any Nigerian who listened to music in the 80s, African American songstress Gwen Guthrie said it all in her 1986 hit, Ain’t Nothin’ Goin’ on But the Rent: men have to have a J-O-B if they want to be with her or any woman for that matter. Money, excuse me, plenty money is certainly a sine qua non in matters of the heart for without it, like erstwhile rapper Freestyle said in his track Money, “Woman cannot gel!” Allow me to illustrate. At the university, my friend Ayo met a very lovely and pretty girl, let’s call her Shade. Ayo and Shade became good friends and he carried a torch for her. At the time however, Shade was in a relationship that lasted all through university, so Ayo bid his time and waited for his chance. His chance came at graduation when Shade broke up with her boyfriend. He said that it was as if heaven had smiled down upon him; finally Shade was his. They served in different states and they tried to see each other as often as possible. They would take long walks, hold hands and declare their love for each other. They talked about their plans for the future as he said he had every intention of spending the rest of his life with her. She said she felt the same way, and things could not have been better. They declared their love for each other saying all the sweet nothings – truths and lies – that accompany such tender moments. And of course she said what I am sure most women have said at one time or the other: “I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. It doesn’t matter even if we don’t have any money…money is not a big deal…I could live under the bridge with you if that was our only option, just as long as I am with you!” And did Ayo believe her? Hmm…he did o! Of course he had no plans of residing anywhere near a bridge or flyover but it seemed very reassuring to know that Shade was someone who would support him even if he didn’t have much; someone who would not push him into doing things that he could not do. Alas, Ayo was wrong. Only four months post-service, and no job, Shade told him that he was not ambitious. Ouch!!! Whatever happened to “staying with me under the bridge?” The writing was definitely on the wall. Well, needless to say things did not work out between them as I guess there were a few issues that one naira could not solve. Funny enough, I find that it is always the women who are the ones who make such promises. It is not like the guys made them make such commitments at the threat of breaking up with them now? So why even bring it up? Truth be told, (responsible) guys know that they need to have money to take care of a woman; they wouldn’t want to date or marry a woman only to have her suffer. Man is meant to be the primary provider, with the woman acting as a help-meet. So we don’t need such declarations! Or I could be wrong o; maybe it serves to add weight to the depth of feeling and emotions being felt by the woman. Maybe guys see it as an ego boost when they imagine that their girlfriends or wives would not leave them even if they had just one naira! We can excuse the relationships because after all as some guys would say, “Na me be her papa?” But money is important in every relationship, especially in marriage as the man has to provide and care for his wife. Truth be told, most women today are not even willing to settle for ‘potential’ – you know the intelligent guy that has a good first degree and has the potential to make it in life. They would prefer ready-made guys. MI raps about how his babe should stick with him “although the money is a maybe”! Laugh Out Loud!! All I can say is that he has keyed into the seemingly romantic notion of love without limits and turned it into a hit song. Sharp guy. I have seen too many marriages shake and crumble because the man had challenges providing for his wife and/or family. The irony is that this one naira part is actually part of the traditional Christian wedding vows, remember “for richer, for poorer”? Or maybe they should take that part out of the vows, like a girl I met said with all seriousness, “If he can’t take care of me, why bother?” So in all seriousness, please, let’s not deceive ourselves here. There is no such thing as “romance without finance.” I daresay money is what makes the romance sweet sef; it is what oils the gears of love. Or do you want to be trekking when you can jump BRT; or enter BRT when you can board okada; or board okada when you can take a ride in a taxi? Guys please do not be deceived when a woman tells you such things like what Waje is crooning in One Naira o! it is just empty, sweet nothings and should not be taken seriously or else you might just get the shock of your life. And ladies, please don’t tell me it is a euphemism. Stop deceiving us, thank you. by T.J. O'karo Ladies is this true? what do you have say about this?

@ Poster Answer: Contentment and the willing spirit to make the marriage work hence sacrifice which some fellow N/landers have called suffering was present back then. All these were done out of love in the first place. But tis VERY absent now. No thanks to New Media and information outburst, it has changed plenty things, Note A marriage is not a hard course, you are the marriage, what you give or take will make or mar it. ![]() |
engineerd:I agree with this so why do we try to re-configure what the CREATOR has done. I laugh when I hear mothers say they'll beat their child to a pulp if he/she is all round left-handed. Tis funny how culture has made being left-handed a taboo. I can't recall anywhere in the Bible or Qur'an where God gave instructions on what we should use the left or right hand for. Whatever you use your hands to do won't you wash it off? So when some people will come up with rules on what to use your hands to do, tis pointless. If I stir my soup with my left hand and you refuse to eat you neva hungry! ![]() In fact I know of two very good left-handed cooks, so what the fuss? There's nothing special with the hands its just because we've been used to the right-hand use so we think any left-handed child is 'special'. ![]() |
MY SAY: I REFUSE to be MOVED! ![]() I so HATE Aljazeera and their reporting angle, that's no news. Their stories breed more war, hatred and other bandwagon rubbish! Before the Post-Election Violence they had started spreading RUBBISH! We are aware of every, they should stop rubbing it in! The way so many people like America, so many people also hate America so what's the fuss? They should go ahead, keep on. It makes us stronger. Wherever I dey, I'm Nigerian for Life! ![]() |
The headlines this week have been filled with various shocking details of infidelity with well known figures in government. First, we heard that respected IMF Chief, Dominque Struass-Khan had been accused of allegedly sexually assaulting a maid in his hotel suite. The news of his alleged indiscretion spread like wild fire following his arrest and has left many surprised that a man of his position could be involved in such scandalous activity. Just as we were trying to make sense of the whole story, the news of former actor and former Californian Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s infidelity and separation from his wife Maria Shriver, put more sting on already painful wound. According to various media outlets, the former Terminator star is believed to have fathered a child with a former staff of his household. As if that wasn’t enough to cope with, he is believed to have kept the result of his infidelity a secret for about 10 years. The child, who was born before Schwarzenegger began his career as governor, was born to a staff who had worked with the family for 20years and retired in January. Both stories remind me of the Tiger Woods saga, where the world watched as the Golf supremo’s love life unfolded like a soap opera as various women went public on alleged affairs with the sports star. The results of all three stories were similar, shock, disbelief and resultant hurt for the women who loved them most. There are many dimensions one could analyze from these stories. The fact that men (and women) involve themselves in unscrupulous activity that has the potential to wreck their families is something we can all debate till the cows’ home. My question today is different. Without question the public humiliation faced by the families of both men is very much disheartening. But when the dust has settled what happens next. If you were married to any of these men what would you do? Would you pack your things and leave or would you, after a bit of time apart begin to dust off the cracks in your marriage and rebuild? Let’s not forget that Maria Shriver, a life long democrat, stood beside her husband Arnold and campaigned for him during his political career even though he was of a different political Party. Also in previous years of alleged indiscretion, Maria, had stood beside her husband and father of her children regardless. So when is enough really enough? Is there a point where we say, I’ve had enough and I can’t take it anymore? If there is, when does that point happen? Is it after the first indiscretion? The second, third or fourth? Or do you, in public, stand beside your man a hundred percent and in the quiet of your home begin to rebuild the brokenness? Personally, I don’t know that there is a right or wrong answer with this one. Human beings have a way of making marriage and love difficult to sustain, and both men and women are guilty of this. The decision to stay or go, will always be a difficult and tear stained one. What do you guys think? Let’s discuss! By Glory Edozien - Bella Naija |
MY CONCLUSION ![]() Tis very obvious that we are hard to please. Just like the children of Israel! If the President just said the perpetrators will be brought to book and didn't talk about compensation. We will cry BLOODY MURDER! and say "He couldn't even compensate them!" now they compensate, some are saying a NYSC corp member's life is worth N5m thats shallow thinking! No amount of money can fill the void. And he has promised to bring them to book. Don't forget DUE PROCESS/BUREAUCRACY! It can be annoying but it has to be done. It is not Jonathan's money and by the way he said he has instructed the DG to give them the money immediately. Duh! |
Am not voting cos he's an EX MILITARY MAN/PRESIDENT. ![]() Hmn hmn mi o fe! (I don't want) ![]() |

@fyneguy See fyneguy stop arguin, ![]() Eldee is right This is a PR case gone bad, as far as the action was carried out in the premises, by CE officials, Christ Embassy is bound to be sued. The Helmet policy is actually laudable, but those Okada men should use the original helmet and not all those JUlius Berger helmet. ![]() A reason I won't pity any Okada man complaining of the hike in price of helmet now is because, they've known of the helmet thingy since last year when the price was relatively cheap when they should have gotten theirs but instead they waited till the Govt made true their warning from the 1st day of the year, thereby making them run helter-skelter for ''cheap helmets'. I want to ask a question, is the helmet not supposed to be one of the accessories found on a brand new bike? ![]() But because all the 'Koras discovered that we didn't give a heck about it, began to sell it apart. The Govt. should instruct all those selling bikes Suzuki & Co. to begin to add the helmet as a major acccessory on a bike. I can't imagine paying close to N150,000 on a brand new bike and not get a helmet! ![]() An advice to all bike users is to use a Scarf as a lady and facecap or handkerchief as a guy to avoid all the "germintobies" till you get ur helmet because we Lagosians especially have become so dependent on bikes. Truthfully, since the bike helmet thingy I avoid late hour rush that will want to make me opt for a bike as a fast means, so now I trek sure loose some calories or take a bus/cab, and begin to tolerate the 'go slow. Ha Ha!E go beta sha. |
Hi Guys! Praise God Inyanya won, But I will like to state that everybody has a right to opnion, but from reading the previous threads, I wont say this programme is 100% wack because: The teachers were there for different reasons; Joke was not made Principal to rate their singing but to totally administer all activities because she has excellent psychological and administrative skills. As we all know she is a drama/movie queen; she was there to tutor them on emotions, body language in singing etc. which any good actress of her calibre will give effectively. So whenever she says "that was good? U were Superb, Bravo!" she is saying that from the psychological point of view of their singing. Ben and others were there for different departments. @ J, something? Someone said the judges were not eligible for the position. Kwame has spent enough time in the entertainment industry to know what is good from what is almost good TYmix is a producer, a good one at that. The other lady is a reknowned music person with enough background She's gos skillz herself. What else do we want? As for Frank Edoho I learnt recently that he raps. See, you don't really know what his repertoire is just because you see him on "Who wants to be a millionaire" does'nt mean he is strictly that. @ all I have predicted the way they were nominated because I knew there will be a form of politics. The reason is it is a West African show hosted by MTN Nigeria and surely a non-Nigerian contestant can't come WIN. Yes Nil is a very good singer but I don't see him as the best among those last three. Praise has this churchy voice that is very strong. If he builds himself more he will be very good, he has the voice texture of John Legend if well trained Inyanya is very good because i. He's a fast learner and ii. he has been able to capture the hearts of o many. I can pay to attend his concert. Well I'll just advise that MTN does better next time if there's any. |
