Because she is a lady that's why u believing her story

provocation or abuse pick up a stick and beat a student.
Ordinarily the lecturer could lose his job for being physical

made him lose control and behaved thus shamefully. This
could ha e been the case the lecturer proved to the Dean

what was that you mentioned again about waiting to hear both sides of the story. Its seems you have already accepted the lecturers side as you also said "hook, line and sinker".

Again you're basing on the assumption that she was unruly. And she was being beaten with a belt. What was she to do? Maybe YOU would have shouted "mummuy o mummy o e gba mi o". But she didn't. I'm guessing that's one of the things pissing you. That in this scenario she didn't grovel and beg. Keep on abusing your power.

pls swerve with this your neutrality ish. you're not.

I meant. You're already asking if it is not right that she should be punished for "disrespecting" her lecturer. You and your fake neutrality already assumes she was disrespectful.

Say she was arguing with the lecturer (which is not clear in her writeup except to you off course). That means let's all pull out belts and whip her, form a vindictive caucus to witch-hunt her?
That about sounds like what you're condoning?
since u can't prove she was an aggressor nor can you prove the beating she received was not a reaction to aggression. Does it not make perfect sense to not take sides and judge till we hear from the school? Hear the second version? This is the bone of my contention with you dear

Your whole post has shown that the neutrality you claim in the last minute after I called you out is a lie. Lecturer in disguise. Pls give me a break. Why should a lecturer go out to defend a girl they don't know. Is Nigeria not a country of mind-your-business. Isn't it possible that the said lecturer is powerful enough and can influence others? Are you saying that it is right that they punish for a hypothetical disrespect? So you have already concluded that she was rude? Neutral my foot!!
from her description, maybe you should read the story again. She admitted to arguing with the man. Wat does that tell you. What do you mean by hypothetical disrespect. Biko teach me

No I have not. And lecturers can frame for Africa and just like the politicians. There is a whole system of HOD's, Dean's and fellow colleagues to back them.
if only u understand how a typical university is structured you will understand the caucus issue. All lecturers in a department are never of same mind. They exist in caucus. Thus u can always only get the support of ur caucus. While the rest will be in opposition. My question is how come all the caucus were against the girl. One thing lecturers do not stand for is disrespectful behaviour. They will all gang up and deal with you ruthlessly. This if the girl was disrespectful, are you saying they were wrong in dealing with her?

Its too late to play the neutral game. You stated at one point that "You were part of the university system" and later "that some students like to feel they have arrived". Suddenly you're all for hearing both sides. Give me a break jo.
yes na. The gurl said her story, I intend to listen to the story of the lecturer before building an opinion. Then can I know who is adding pepper. Who told lies. Who was a demi God and who was a rude student. My reference to understanding the university system is that. Students can lie for Africa. You could catch one with microchips, yet you will see how the same student will tell stories of how u victimised them. Na me say carry ngbo? I ask again mam. Have you served yet

Though 15-20M is a hefty sum of money.
Location is also key.

We could scale up or down depending on financial capacity.
the island is cool due to the fact the rich and deluded who need pampering live there or work there. The amount charged needs the nouveau class to pay in order to have quick roi. I would even have white masseuse for those who need white pussy after a rub down.

So an office space on the island I cool. Though we could franchise with a hotel there. We use their space on rent, benefit from their clients and also drive more clients for them trough our services.

You just hit the nail on the head. It will be unique and classy, also discreet.
Customer service is key as well.

Key Issues :
1. Start up cost/ requirements
2. Marketing / Publicity
3. Getting the ladies / personnel
getting the ladies, very simple thing. Auditions, that's is the easiest of the part. In a week, I have enough girls to fill a trailer. It's a business thus should be marketed as one. Though a direct marketing approach is best due to the nature of the business. The massage parlour / spa is the front. This is the section that will be advertised. O ly members will get to know our discreet services.

The start up cost for a successful return on investment of one year, is between 15 million to 20million. This would cover a year rent on the island, fittings and 3mobths running cost.

Let us take the massage parlor for instance. It is cheaper to set up compared to a brothel or strip club.

Location: A good middle class environment in the Mainland or the Island will be just fine. The interior has to be nice, conducive and able to stir up fantasies. Colours and lightening are very important.

Pricing: between 5-10k per session. We can also have various packages with varying prices too.

Marketing and publicity is also important.
Target clients will be working class guys. Married, single or divorced.
the massage parlour is a lovely idea. I intend it should be a front to offer love-vendor service to high end clients while one cuts a commission.

We offer all sexual solutions to people discreetly at a fee, while the massage parlour operates normally.

A parlour in the mainland or island would require great investment, it must be beautiful, quiet and serene. Good and well trained masseuses. Who could offer a decent client happy hour service.

I love the sex industry, so far the service is good and can be discreet because of the Nigerian hypocritical disposition. One would be packing money in droves.

Which of the Biafrans understand the angle of the Northerners?
is the ones who were shot dead on the battle field? No maybe it's the ones who had their homes blown up and their village turned to smoking dust? I think I'm wrong again, maybe it's the ones who were raped multiple times by the invading soldiers and had to watch their children run around with Kwashiorkor? Which of them, pls tell me which of them understand the angle of the northerners.

Anyway at the end of the post, she told him to refute all she has said. Are you he?
I am not he. But I refuse to follow the band wagon. In war everything is almost fair. That's why war is bad. The coup was played out as an igbo affair which it wasn't. To make matters worse. The southeastern premier was spared, to make matters worse most northerners weren't involved in the coup plans though a few were. They retaliated for perceived injustice. At that moment you can't fault either party. When the second pogrom happened and the war that ensued. That was genocide on the Igbos. But initially wasn't so, ask around and you will see the marginalisation that exists today with the Igbos wasn't prominent then. Infact the Igbos were high flyers compared to others in the army, police and civil service. So my dear. You can never get the right story till you hear both sides. If you cane home and met ur mum weeping with a bloodied eye. Someone like you will take sides immediately without waiting to here the full Gist in order to make a more informed decision. Look at Syria people are dying daily, but in brokering peace every party must be represented, nobody will be left out simply cos he killed more people

What does beauty or being the only girl in a place have to do with anything. Are all the raped women the most beautiful? Are the robbery victims Tue richest men or women? Did all the people killed in riots deserve it? The same logic applies to all of them.

You wait to hear the other side of the story or you prefer that your silence weighs in with the oppressors.

HERE'S HOW YOUR LOGIC GOES--- I am also waiting to hear the other of the side story from Biafra. I don't care that killed 3 million Igbos'. They probably deserved it.

My friend nothing justifies anything. I hope when you're in a tight situation too. Someone does not say the same thing to you too.
even the Biafrans understand the angle the northerners came from. We know what hurts us most about the war. In every situation you must look at both sides of an issue no matter how hurt the complaint is. With ur logic, first to report na him win case, the theif who tried shooting but was given jungle justice because his gun jammed. You will always listen to victims cos they report first. Most times the perceived victims are the persecutors. I can give you examples upon examples. But I believe u understand my angle

Ways to Solve Nigeria's Perennial Power Generation Problems
Nigeria's development has been pegged back on several occasions due to the inconsistent and insufficient power generation. After some careful thoughts, I have come up with a blueprint on how to stabilise and improve power generation in the country.

1. Gas Powered Plants Should Be Sited Close to Source

To stop the the incessant vandalism of gas pipelines, gas powered plants from now on should only be sited close to areas where gas is produced.
Why so? Pipelines will be easier to be monitored by security agents since the area under surveillance is within short distance. It makes no sense to site plants several kilometer from source of gas as this makes pipeline protection and surveillance virtually impossible.
Pipelines transversing long kilometer stretch might work in saner and developed climes but given that some Nigerians have poor mentality by continuously destroying government property, it won't work over here.

2. Gas Plants far away from gas source should be converted to coal powered

Why so? Firstly, government has to revamp coal production. Though coal is seen as a "dirty" source of energy due to its calamitous effect on the environment, as the saying goes, "Beggars are not choosers". Nigeria lacks the sufficient power to trigger its industrial revolution and must henceforth look for any source of energy , both clean or dirty to bolster its economy.
As we can observe from the country, almost all plants sited far away from gas source are performing below expectations and producing far less power that it was originally meant to, at this is due to insufficient gas supply which can be linked to the consistent tampering of gas pipelines.
Converting them to coal powered will eliminate this problem and also make them function at effective level, it also saves money that would have been wasted in repairing this vandalised pipelines on a weekly basis.
Conversion to coal power isn't that hard and only requires replacing gas turbines with steam turbines. Coal can be easily transported through road or rail.

3. Solar Powered Plants should be set up at the north

The north is blessed with abundant sunlight, we should therefore not waste this gift of nature. Solar powered plants should be set up all around areas with intense sunlight eg Sokoto.
The generated MW from these plants might be small when compared to those produced by carbon(gas and coal) but it still very beneficial to our power grid.

4. Upgrading existing plants with new turbines

New turbines should purchased in addition with the old ones to improve MW of power to be generated.

5. Bio gas Plants

Nigeria should consider investing in bio gas plants. Plants can be sited in cities with huge population and huge waste eg Lagos and Kano.
It serves two purpose; as it makes our environment cleaner by recycling waste and also produces a reasonable amount of power to be added to the grid.
please give more and more covering many sectors. Apparently you head is good. Nice analysis. Different generation methods. But I heard there are issues with the transmission network. How will u handle that and distribution

If I were president. Corruption at all levels will attract a honourable death to the person. He should commit suicide in one week from the day he was found guilty. Else the state will kill him by firing squad.

Anybody with questionable income, eg money ritualists. Yahoo yahoo boys will be jailed a long time. We can't harbour criminals anymore.

I will empower the local government and councils. All other government levels above the local government should be merely supervisory. We should borrow the American model of democracy. The strongest government will be the government closest to the people. That is the local council men.

Words are cheap, blames are the same. I intend to not join the band wagon of Complainers who can't provide a solution through good thought.

I hope others will share their opinions on governance, hopefully the government would come to this thread and learn from our opinions.

If I were president, I would create jobs by doing the following

- I will create a true national database where citizen ID cards will be chipped like our atm cards. This information must be updated by citizens with recent milestones periodically to ensure recent and relevant information is stored.

- this information would help the inec as well as population agencies determine demographics

- I will Institute a fine /penalty based system of administration. If you break a traffic law, litter the environment, incompetent at work, a ticket is issued and attached to info on ur card, you can't do anything with ur card as a citizen, eg book flights etc till you pay up ur debt. Same with environmental laws and petty crimes (this should decongest our prison system). This means a form of taxation that would generate funds to pay workers employed to enforce these laws. (thus employment)

- I will increase the minimum wage for skilled workers and artisans, thus ensuring Nigeria is a skill based economy not the certificate based one we have. This should decongest our universities, as only people interested in research should attend one. Thud vocational schools would be the order of the day.

- graduates of universities, are expected to be entrepreneurs and employers of the skilled graduates from the vocational schools I have created. Thus the nysc will be remodeled to provide loans to all graduates as well as entrepreneurial support in fields such as agriculture, commerce, technology and arts.

Will post more. This is open to critique

listen dear, the innocence of a child thing is abit overated especially in this age. If a student was out rightly rude to a lecturer and he decided to behave at her level by wickedness, it only fair. She isn't the most beautiful girl nor is she the only girl. This is a federal university that has at least 100 In a class. How come na only her waka come. Yes the world is an evil place, but people rarely help matters by their behaviour. If a lady tells me today she was raped, I always wait for the full story before jumping on the band wagon of criticism. I am not of the opinion that some people are designated aggressors while others are victims. Eg the lecturer and students situation, the police and motorist situation. It's too stereotyped
