Reference: Stop shielding. Arrest. Destroy Boko Haram. Hmm. If after all the pieces are laid before you (by the ACF, detained members, by their modus operandi, by the former NSA, by Northern elders and by the arrow heads themselves), you don't get it. Then you probably never will.Cest grand! |
Reference: When I say the GEJ Presidency is the best thing that has happened to Nigeria many doubt. They conveniently ignore the elephant in the room and chase after power, roads and anti-corruption. The things that will dwarf all those challenges is coming. Let every well meaning Nigerian put things in proper perspective. Once it was clandestine. Gradually it is coming out into the open. What next.Bro, I have been shouting myself hoax for a long time that corruption is not our biggest problem but power tussle and they called me all kind of names. Now you see it has been laid bare like a brand new carpet by the northerners themselves. What is there to add again. Where are kobojunkie, lacasa and their co conspirators. Let them come and use dictionary to enlighten us more what these alhaji is saying. But it is all good. The chicken is coming home to roost baby! |
Any reply to this article stands the risk of being an overstatement. I am almost tempted to just copy and repost it 50 times. It tells it all. It exposes it all. It is a grand statement. The type you give on an election eve or on a republic day. All hail the "born to rule" people of Nigeria. Woe betide the south south man that will come here and post another post in support of northern leaders! |
This thread is a proof beyond doubt that most GEJ critics on NL only read the headlines. They don't read the articles before they start posting their hate posts. If they are not blind haters, they will surely read the full articles. This thread should be bookmarked! |
Billyonaire: I dont know what type of Bridge that 325 million Naira can be build, but I know that average Five Bedroom duplexes cost 120 million Naira. If a bridge has to be built, it should be a damn good bridge, not some wooden crossbar. The money is for the design, geological survey, etc for the project, not the cost of the bridge. Check the article again. |
Ekans: .My brother, the onitsha-owerri road was done by Obj and sincerely speaking the igbos have faired better under his verious tenures.I am an igbo man and i should know.Even the idea for the 2nd niger bridge was given much impetus under him.Hahahaha! Onitsha-Owerri road done over five years ago? Now you are surely in lalaland. Did kobojunkie mosquito bite you? Lol |
aribisala0: NOt every commentator is partisan. You seem to be suggesting just that.Every Nigerian has a right to comment on what goes on in their country. It is highly intolerant to resort to personal attacks if people do not see things your way.The Falomo bridge or anything by Fashola is quite simply not relevant here .If there are issues to be discussed on Falomo bridge create a thread for it.So can you tell me a list of those that aint partisan or are you new to NL? Does this article sound to you as something that should have been greeted with insults and ridicule? You are funny. I prefer partisan people to hypocrites. Please stick to the topic, thank you. |
Ekans: Haba, talks of the 2nd niger bridge has been on for the past 15yrs,i wonder the kind of politics they are playing on the intelligence of ibo people. When it suits them, they raise the issue to get support and embezzle the money and the ibos will remain fooled.Who ever told ibos that GEJ will achieve this when the east -west road that is in his backyard is so deplorable.Ibos wisen up,its all talk and no action.Haba! Do you somehow have the power to see the future? Or are we going to the polls this weekend? This is 2012. 2015 is still 3 years away. If the construction hasn't taken off then, I will personally retweet your post all over twitter. But for now, the contract process has just begun. Fingers crossed but good news all the same All talk and no action when the Onitsha-Owerri road is blazing like an airstrip? You gat no clue! |
Obinoscopy: I'm not concerned about the fact that the contract has been awarded, afterall it had been awarded previously but later revoked. My concern is this: WHEN WILL THE BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION COMMENCE AND WHEN IS THE ESTIMATED TIME/DATE OF COMPLETION?You should ask the journalist who did the report. Our journalists are never thorough in their reports. They are arm chair journalists. Lol |
These ACN and El Rufai crew will never fail to disappoint. How much does it take to design a 5 bedroom duplex? How much do you think it took LASG to design falomo bridge? Why didn't they call for bidders and charge them like someone suggested above? You lot are beginning to sound like broken records. Architectural design, geological survey, physical planning, etc before you construct an over 1km bridge over the river Niger is not something most of you can comment on. So all you should do is ask questions not make comments. Its very possible that in the Nigerians scenario, some government people might have added some millions to the figure but that figure is still very much in the range for such a project. |
mapet: I was about saying the same thing. We get so easily swayed by media blitz that we will soon be back to square one. This same thing we are celebrating now had happened b4 when we set a target of 6000MW only to receed to 3000MW.Welcome! You are late but its never too late so we forgive you. Read the rest of the thread and be educated. Cheers! |
Ki-Katanga:Why do you not use your head? Did they tell you they will stop generating power since they have reached 4237MW? Have you not read that soon with more gas coming up, they will hit 5000MW and by next yera end we will be over the 10000Mw mark? Why is comprehension so dificult for some of you? Is GEJ the reason we still have this little power? Is it not the decays from the 70s? Is he not tryinh to correct it now? What is your point really! |
lordmassac: Let's wait till the rain stops and the dam water level drops. The combined capacity of Kainji and Shiroro is 1360MW. Even if the rain drops and that reduces by a shocking 400MW, for example, do you think that will suddenly throw Nigeria into darkness? Some of you are just echoes. You echo things you read on a facebook status. You have no thoughts of your own. Use the white matter between your eyes joor! |
The biggest blunder of the north is to take on a south south president the way they have done. South south are not Yorubas or Ibos. They will not take things and keep quiet. 1. They control the country's resources 2. They always unite as one 3. They are not afraid of anyone or anything 4. They can sustain themselves in a war 5. They are angry because they have been marginalised and treated as second citizens in Nigeria for a long time 6. They have leaders that can move the people The north should have just allowed Jonathan ruled in peace and if he didn't do well, vote him out if they can in 2015. This "make the country ungovernable" strategy will backfire big time. I have warned about this a long time ago. The north will emerge the biggest loosers for it. If they think they can overrun the ND in a war, then they are really living in the 60s. The odds are in favour of ND. Western powers will not back the north against ND. ND are on the coast. The middle belt and south east will not join the fight. Right from day one when they started killing corpers after a free and fair election, I knew they were asking for trouble. In fact, right from the time they rallied behind Turai to hold on to power, they had set the tone. It was a very very bad calculatiion and the bad blood that is being created right now is driving the regions further apart. |
The point has been made. The thread has achieved its purpose. People like kobojunkie, Sisi_kill and kingoflag can continue to dance naked for the world to see. It won't change anything. An issue like power is not one you can do propaganda with. It is either there or it is not. Even if GEJ comes out today and spend billions to tell Nigerians that power has improved while there is no power on the ground, the campaign will amount to nothing. But if the power has actually improved, the people will know themselves and acknowledge it no matter the propaganda the likes of kobojunkie try to spread. It is really foolishness unlimited for anyone to think that they can post 10 pages here and dispel the facts that exist on the ground. Last time I was in Benin, the radio programs were buzzing with calls about NEPA and everyone acknowledge power has tremendously improved. The major complains most had was the increase in tarrif. Some other minors complains included bad transformers in some locations and PHCN staff's excesses. In Lagos, light is still being rationed in many areas but the number of hours made available in many places has also improved considerably. But Lagos is large and the amount of power allocated there is certainly not adequate so there will be rotation still until the power generated reaches around 6000 to 7000MW. For cities with far less population, the power will be able to go round more. Those calculating 160million Nigerians to 4000MW of electricity are just exhibiting gross stup1d1ty. Most rural areas use very small amount of power except for holiday periods like Christmas. Most of the power demands are from the cities. The vast majority of Nigerians still live in the rural areas. That is why 4000 mega watts for now will seem to go round the country fairly. Nigeria doesn't have many industries yet. We practically import 70 to 80 percent of items we use. As the power improves, more and more people will begin to setup industries. Then the power demands will also increase more. That is the projection you will hear the power minister or anyone give in terms of what we need to have in 2020. Anyone who tells you Nigeria needs 100, 000MW right now is a complete f00l who has no clue of his/her country. Many of these diaspora Nigerians are filled with bitterness. We do understand that but turning that into ridiculous cynicism about Nigeria is just not right. Even if you can't get a husband and you are 42yrs old living in the bronx like kobojunkie or you are working for £2 and hour in a farm near aberdeen like kingoflag, it still should not make you exhibit blind hate for your country and her people. We have to keep believing and demanding our government do more. I contribute my 2 cents by following people like Barth Nnaji and NERCNG online and putting pressure on them to do what is right for Nigeria. We tell them they must not fail. We call their attention to issues and commend them when they do well. So far the road map is on course. Prepaid meter installation is going on massively nationwide. The gas project is going on massively. The transmission backbone across the country is being massively strengthened. TCN has been taken over by Manitoba Ltd from Canada. GE has signed an MOU to build power stations. Akwa Ibom and Rivers IPP are currently on top gear nearing completion. Lagos is on planning stage too. Their officials have been going round. These are all great signs. It is only a witch with evil expectations that will tell us to ignore these signs and instead run these progress down just because of some partisan interest. Sad stuff! |
Koikoi: I can't understand this kobojunkie. what exactly is your stress about Nigeria? You couldn't stand the heat down here so, you vamoosed. we down here are the real Nigerians and we do have a life and a beautiful one at that. If we say we are happy with the current power supply then indeed we are. how does that affect your BP? Oh! you do not want to hear that for once we are happy. sorry-ooo. we are a happy people. Your adopted country where your colour and ascent are issues cannot and will not give you the feeling of homeliness I get here everyday. Light or no light. YOU CAN'T HAVE IT ALL my dear. Nigeria sweet-oooooooooooooooBro its witchcraft spirit. They hate progress. It gives them fever. She actually thinks people take her seriously. That's how she is. Everyone knows her on NL. People like her are the ones that have been sadotaging us for years |
Sisi_Kill: Oh just for those who don't know. . .Let me explain the typical scenario for this "I HAVE NOT USED GEN FOR A LONG TIME NOW" that people are shouting all over the place.Story, story! Story! Tales by moonlight. Is this all you gat! Try harder. Bitterness is really a biatch! Lol. |
Sisi_Kill: Why are you wasting time on me when you could be enjoying ya one week of light abi is that because it is been so long, you don't remember what to with electricuty anymore?Hahahaha! I can see the effects of recession is getting to you. I understand the pressure. Greece is down. Italy and spain is almost down. US is on the brink. Don't worry, if you loose your home, just come back. You don't need to live on welfare. Lol |
Sisi_Kill: Going by the comments on this thread, it is safe to say only GEJ supporters are enjoying this phantom power supply. So it is either GEJ is repaying them for their loyalty (Awww, how sweet. Where can I sign my cousins. . .they need light tooLol. Is that your best shot? My dear, you weak like dodo. In fact, you weak pass wikileaks! So shallow and empty! Lol |
Sisi_Kill: This is soooooooooo freaking sad!!Why is English so hard for some of you? Please tell me. Should I say it in pidgin? Ok here it is: I say I never use my generator for one week now because, light dey always dey. I no say na only one week. Light don dey like that since like march/april. But I use my generator one week ago and since then, e never work sam sam! |
monkeyleg: I dont need to prove anything to you. Rather you need to ask yourself if spending $billions to get 4000MGW represents a wise sensible investment worthy of celebration. If the answer to you is yes, then really where is the rational basis for discuss hereAre you using the said $16 billion OBJ spent on power to judge GEJ? Did GEJ spend $billions on power? What are you on about? Must you peddle falsehood. GEJ has not spent $billions on power. So keep you deceit to yourself |
One of them even said early last week that the increase is due to the fact that they want to bring bill for the month. Today is 8th. Have they not brought your bill yet? Has the power returned back to the way it used to be? The dunce even forgot that so many people now use pay-as-you-go. Anyone who wants the system to fail is an enemy of the public. #witchcraft |
monkeyleg: Reminds me of the savant who was sent to the market with 50,000 naira, and came back with only a loaf of half eaten bread. The folks in the house praised the savant saying "at least he came back with something"I am sitting at home and the generator has not worked for one week now. So why will I not celebrate? How is that a failure? Or your dictionary has a different definition of failure? You be comedian? Ok I will give you a simple home work. Pick up your phone and call anyone in Benin or Owerri and ask them how is "NEPA" doing? Then come back and tell me the reply you get. Some of them are thinking of selling their generators. Well maybe you are the El rufai 50 used BB squad! Lol |
AkoEja: This is still a drop in the ocean, I hope they do not rest on their oars. We actually need more than 10,000 MWAt the moment, we do not actually need up to 10,000MW. But as investors begin to believe power is improving, they will start to invest. Many SMEs will start to come up too. That will increase the power demand. But the good thing is that this will not happen over night so there's a small window for improvement. If they keep up the pace and don't relent, I think we can keep up with the gradual increase in demand as we go on. |
Hahahahaha! ....and again hahahahahaha ...and again. Hahahahahah...coconut head with mustard seed brain. Like she is in JSS 1 or something. Very funny. |
proudlyafrican: Power Generation Hit 4237MW on the pages of newspapers.....Have not had light for 5 days in my hood,so how does the increase benefit me? People deceiving party. So the report is wrong just because a small community does not have light for 5 days? The power problem is multifaceted. The report did not say all our power problems is solved. It just said there is improvement. Some are celebrating here because people are beginning to feel and believe some people like you don't want GEJ so succeed. That's the real problem |
Kobojunkie: Again . . .Lol. You beginning to sound like a kid with this your repetition of posts. Are you a primary school teacher? Lol. #childish |
Kobojunkie: Stop Lying!!Which part of what he said is a lie? Everyone living in Nigeria knows sabotage in PHCN was a big chunk of why powwer was poor. Even when the power reaches the states, the PHCN guys collect monies and manage it poorly. Its been going on for donkey years. I guess you wouldn't know that since you are holed up somewhere in diaspora, but you will still post like you have any clue of Nigeria. Very funny |
feelamong: for the records...this is not the highest ever reached. We have hit 4420 mega watts before in January and what happened after that?Didn't really want to post until I read this. You shouldn't misinform just because you want to try and discredit something. Kainji and Shiroro have fixed capacity. Their capacity does not increase just because it is rainy season. The maximum capacity of kainji is based on the 8 turbines running there. Kainji has an installed capacity of 760MW while shiroro has a maximum capacity of 600MW. That is a total of 1360MW. Doesn't matter if water covers the whole Nigeria, that figure will not change. The increase in generation is because gas is gradually coming onstream and helping to power the numerous power plants across the country. The article did state that clearly. Don't exibit witchcraft traits. |
ROTFL! "Shoeless is an adjective, when you add a 'the' to it, it becomes a noun". This guy is legendary. I have laughed and laughed and scattered the whole place. It can't get worse than this. This guy is as thick as a mahogany tree. If WAEC should catch him, they will withdraw the pass and give him full F! Bhuahahahahaha! |
Sisi_Kill: Sigh!Being melodramatic in a public forum will not make you right. I am not a fan of Nollywood but the reason it hasn't improved much is because there are no Nigerians available to change it. All we have are arm chair critics like you and pastor Bakare. Talk is cheap they say and posting on NL is even cheaper. That being said, you have a right to agree with Bakare but that puts you in the elitist group who will not see the poor rise to greatness. The only question I have for you then is, when you seemingly "fought" for the poor in many of your precious posts, were you just a politically correct hypocrite or were you a schemer trying to use the poor to push an agenda like the typical Nigerian politician? Or maybe all of the above? Lucky Igbinedion was from one of the wealthiest families in Edo state with a lot of class but he spent 8 years as governor of the state frolicking around with girls in the company of Ibori. So how is Bakare correct. Human characteristics is a complex subject. If you don't a clue don't engage the topic. If you think the rich and classy will always rule well and the poor and classless will always rule badly, then you need medications |

Awwww, I can make you a list if you want.

? You can continue to wallow in your self deceit.
It wasn't until I got that if things aren't literally explained, laid out bare, busted wide open, stripped naked, most people don't get it that I stopped getting angry. . . but ya know what, that's a story for another day
) and they are worried about the state of the nation, their future, their children's future. What do ya expect him to talk about in times like this. . . the Story of Noah's Ark or Samson's long hair?
