The house can't impeach president. Where do olodos like you always pop up from self? NL is being overrun by infants.

Ileke-IdI:
It's so funny how you expect people to question their Gov and LG bosses, but when we question our president and his cabals, it's another story.

Hypocritical much.
I don't think Beaf or anyone has ever advocated you don't question the president. There is a big difference between questioning and being insulting, partisan, tribal and trying to bring him down. You have a right to question the president and as a good citizen, you should. But coming on a public forum to insult his person and tribe is not the same thing as questioning or demanding good governance. If you look back, you would even notice this trend started from the day he won the 2011 election so it had nothing to do with his performance. It was purely hatred and the quest for power.

Kobojunkie: Did you bother reading what was posted?

Let me help me . . . there is no way a you can have power supply fall by 100MW/200MW/300MW/500MW/1000MW over a 6-month period, and still have steady power supply to all areas over the same period. It is not rocket science! I ask again, na juju?
You quote statistics from your hideout in diaspora like you work for PHCN. Like it was given to you by Nnaji. We all know your mantra. Its "sieve thru the information. Extract anything that makes GEJ look bad. Propagate it. Rubbish the rest that makes GEJ look good. If you can't find anything that makes GEJ look bad in that pool of information, cook up something. But by all means make the country ungovernable until power changes hands". With the amount of time you spend online, you are definitely a paid agent. Confirmed!

Sisi_Kill: Exactly!!

Why is this such a hard concept to grasps??!! huh

I'm ready to put money down that in the next month or two, there will be a new HOW IS POWER SUPPLY IN YOUR AREA thread where majority of the respondents will be complaining about how they have not had light in days. undecided
Some have already been enjoying it for up to 6 months. You should always read thru a thread before you comment. And noone is in any euphoria. Someone put up a simple thread to sample opinion of Nigerians and he is getting responses. How did you know Nigerians were suffering bad power supply? Was it not the same feedback process? You should just keep your head up and stop being negative. A thread like this should be put up every month really. Then we can build a pattern of either progress or failure. If you do get a progress report from it, you should try to beliitle or discredit it just to score a political point.

honor2011: I'm living in Arepo in Ogun State. The power condition this area had been so bad! But as the op said, something different happened since about Wednesday last week. For the first time for many months, we were able to have electricity supply for more than 6 hours at a go! I was surprised & I'm still surprised. Everything still look like a "screen saver". However since I'm using prepaid card, I noticed that my card was about to finish. In order to recharge I went to the PHCN office at Isheri. There I found out that In addition to buying more units, PHCN, had put #1,500 fixed charge irrespective of what units you are buying
Huh! Those PHCN guys are scamming you big time. The fixed charge is N500 not N1500. And even that is being contested. Many of us have been battling with NERC to remove it. But we don't get much support because people like kobojunkie are only interested in fighting GEJ for power to change to their own candidates instead of joining us to fight the system. Report them to NERC immediately oh. The NERC bb pin is 28F1B6C5 and their twitter handle is @NERCNG. I will try and get their email and phone and post it here. You people confront them and don't let them setup office on your head oh! Its N500 fixed charge monthly for now. This is what I keep saying about citizens doing their own bit. Refuse to be duped! If they talk nonsense, tell them you will report them to NERC. They can't do you anything. This is sad.

The argument or logic that light improves during rainy season is one of those lies and falsehood some cynics have been repeating over and over again and some gullible guys have started to believe it. Rainy season starts in march/april and ends in october. So by their logic, if power improves in the rainy season, we will have 7 months of improved power every year. That will actually be a great thing, funny enough. There are several factors that have affected power for years. The worst of them is he human factor. The PHCN staff themselves. They just sit idle and let people suffer. Most people who complain about transformer don't realise that the government actually buys those transformers. But the PHCN staff sabotage it. They collect monies from communities and go into their store and bring the one government provided as the one they bought. Sometimes, they steal the transformers and sell it back to the communities. A PHCN guy was recently mobbed by a community for this. An overhaul of PHCN was always going to improve power big time.

This right there is the problem of Nigeria. All you have to offer is cynism and gloom. What have you ever contributed as a Nigerian? I posted the BB pin of NERC and their twitter handle. I personally put pressure on them in my little way. What have you ever done. People like you only contribute to the problem. You want us to remain sad and hopeless like you but we have chosen not to. We are not deluded to think that PHCN or FG is now perfect but we are willing to support and push them to do the right thing. Bitterness, sadness and depression can lead to ulcers. logica: It just might have to do with Lagos producing its own power. Hasn't the state been granted the right to produce power? Any information please?
Lagos is not producing its own power. Where did you get that from? Only Akwa Ibom and Rivers IPP are close to take off. Lagos iis still planning. Hopefully they will start their IPP soon.

Power has improved. No matter how some are trying to spread negative vibes around. Our duty is to keep the pressure on government to sustain it and improve even more. It is a big lie to say it is due to rainy season because Kanji and Shiroro do not supply power to the whole Nigeria any more. They only supply some states.

Always read the thread before you comment. There has been improvement in many places for months, not this period according to you. And for the records, Kanji dam water level has never caused a country wide improvement and consistency like some of you try to portray.

Anyways, if that is what we call improvement, success to NEPA and those who now have light.

Now its getting clearer who the 40 man laptop really is. I said it the other day that El Rufai setup an Internet squad and quickly went on the Internet to announce that GEJ had set one up. Why would anyone want to discredit what so many are saying from all over Nigeria. Why are they attacking with such venom and fierceness? Is it because they really love Nigeria? GEJ is far from getting there and we can only pray he gets there for the benefit of us all. But the way some try to bring down the whole system is becoming really irritating. Only a paid propaganga squad act this way.

I have said it over and over that kobojunkie is a saddist. A chronic cynic. She has no joy. And she likes to spread the pain and gloom around. It is good everyone is beginning to see how she attacks any and every symptom of joy and progress. She wants to always remind us how doomed we are, like we actually need any help on that. Lol.

Just pick up your phone and call anyone in Edo state and ask how the light situation is and they will tell you they are enjoying power up to 16 hours regularly in many areas and near 24hrs in some areas. Same for several other states in the south. Delta is not as good as edo though. Especially Asaba. Some parts of Lagos are enjoying good power. Others still have a long way to go. There are many reasons for the disparity. In lagos for example, there is still rotation of power because the power given to Lagos is far inadequate. But then some areas have priority over others. I don't know what criteria PHCN or whatever uses. In some areas, their transformer or step down stations might be bad. All these are different factors. But overall, power has improved greatly. The installation of prepaid meters has surely impacted the power supply. We still need to put more pressure on the authorities though. They need to cancel the N500 maintenance fee and they need to curb the excesses of their staff handling the prepaid sales and installation. The NERC BB pin is 28F1B6C5.

Nigeria had always had problems with leadership but the current leadership is by far the worst and as Nigerians the least we can do is say our minds. Jonathan is destroying Nigeria.
2 mistakes here:

1. This Jonathan days were not created during Jonathan's time. He met it like this and is trying to fix it.

2. Jonathan cannot be destroying Nigeria. Nigeria is destroyed. Look around you guy. It can't get worse. The policies that are being put in place will not change it overnight. Its will take time. So your statement is incorrect sir.

3. How can the current leadership be the worst when it has put in place (or is in the process) the most ground breaking policies that the other all avoided because of their selfish interests. FOI, PIB, official secrets act, power reform, agric reform, end to fuel subsidy, educational reforms, foreign policy reform.

Eziachi: Maybe I am, if that is the yardstick they used in measuring Fashola's achievement in power.
In the year 2012, Nigerians should had been grown over using building road to measure achievement in power, when North Korea had better roads than Nigeria.
Assuming every road in Lagos is one day finally met international standard, it mean subsequent govt had nothing to achieve, if Nigerians continue to use road, water and power in acknowledging their high flying leaders.
I am tempted to agree with you but that brings us back to the topic. Those who criticize GEJ claim people like Fashola have actually achieved so we could say it is also an offence to support Fashola. You get the drift?

Eziachi: Construction of road is not an achievement, let alone the one already in existence. You don't need to brainstorming of policy making to know that a modern world even 300 years ago needs good access road.
You don't give parents national medal for feeding their children as that is their first priority as parents. The same scope goes for govts any where in the world, rich or poor.
First primary job of any authority is the adequate provision of basic amenities, its not an achievement or dividend of democracy as most Nigerian morons now make us to believe as if most non democratic nations don't have better road than Nigeria.
If you are still counting provision of basic public utilities an an achievement for an elected govt, I think then that you might still have a lot of catch with democracy.
By your statement, you just rendered Fashola's 5 year tenure a total waste and failure!

1. There is a big difference between criticizing someone and insulting someone. Most of you don't critisize. You don't even read the article most times. You immediately proceed to insult his family and tribe. That is why some people will continue to resist you.

2. Most of the people who insult GEJ always defend Tinubu, fashola, Buhari, El rufai, etc. So how can we take them seriously? They defended Fashola when he put up the Lekki toll, when he increased LASU fees to 250k, when he sacked 788 doctors just like that, over his failure to improve the lot of the masses, etc. They defend Buhari's callous approval of violence, etc. They defend Tinubu's many attrocities including being a dictator and his excesses in handling Lagos finances. They even tell us El Rufai is a saint. So why should we take them seriously when they attack GEJ?

3. They will never, never, never commend any good move by GEJ. It is like they will go crazy if they ever do. It has become a thing of bitterness and they will actually tell you it will not work like they actually don't want it to work.

4. They will echo every falsehood and blackmail about GEJ that they find around the Internet. They will even twist every thread into a GEJ bashing thread. Sometimes, you read some thread and you wonder what the heck has GEJ got to do with it. I even found guys bashing GEJ in the thread that talked about legislators salary. And when an article is found to be false, there is no rejoinder, apology or even an acknowledgement of the fact that it is false. Instead, some will even go philosophical and say "time will tell", "na today?", "who is fooling who", "they are deceiving us" and so on.

If you want to critisize the president, first show your willingness to be just and non partisan then you will be fully supported.

The Nigerian senator does not receive the salary for life but it is still way way too ridiculous. What is more ridiculous is that this is official salaries. I mean, if we are talking about embezzlement, it would be another matter. But to think that they are legitimately collecting these is just crazy. Because some might argue that the executive and others are stealing money but then you can expose and stop monies being stolen by them. What the legislators collect, you cannot stop. It is constitutional.
