Religion / Re: Man Donates His Family House To Christ Embassy, Family About To Be Thrown Out by edicolove: 9:48pm On Mar 02, 2021
Righteousness2:
If it is a Family house, the young man is absolutely wrong to do so without carrying the Family along!
The Church should do the Needful by returning the Said documents to the Family!

If the House belongs to the young man, then he can do whatever he wants with his house..

I am begining to think you are not a genuine preacher for saying he can do anything he likes with it.

So a man should give his family house and put his family on the street for God? Which God is that?

Only mammon does such a thing, not Yahweh or Jesus Christ

Some of you preach and say the right things until it comes to supporting false pastors and then you change

If you are truly of God, uphold truth to the end please.

In decades to come. All these Christian varsities would be blazing trails; finding cures, inventing new technology and expanding the frontiers of learning.

We already have the Ebola rapid testing kit, Lassa detection process developed in Redeemers

We already have the 'Evolution proof' insecticide developed by Covenant.

We have the World Class Agriculture Research Institute and Sustainable Agriculture City being almost delivered by Landmark. We are getting there gradually!

Lalasticlala Desyner

In decades to come, a Christian should be expecting the rapture and coming of Christ, not how he will take over the world. Christians are not going to take over the world. Its the antichrist that will actually take over the world for a while before Christ returns and kicks him out. But by then, no one will need your universities as Christ establishes his 100 year reign. Funny how some of you who say you are Christians only think of the future of humanity in terms of worldly attainments. Dont you guys read your bible?
Religion / God Is Your Father, Not Your Grandpa! by edicolove: 2:01am On Feb 25, 2018
Dear Child of God,

God is your father, not your grandpa!

You pastor or GO is not closer to God than you or any other Christian.

Your pastor or GO does not have more of God's power than you or any other Christian.

Your pastor does not have more anointing or Holy Spirit than you or any other Christian.

There is no junior or senior Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works with you as much as you yield to Him. He doesn't work with you because of the title you bare.

The body of Christ has only one head, Christ Jesus.

The body of Christ has only one father, Christ Jesus.

God is your father, not your grandpa! Walk with Him. Yield to HIm. Talk to Him. He loves you with an everlasting love. He wants to fellowship with you personally, not through an intermediary. Not through a prophet or pastor or GO.

There is only one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus.

Politics / Re: Why Nigerians Ridicule Nigeria by edicolove: 8:01pm On Aug 15, 2012
I beg to disagree with this article. I strongly believe that the issues facing Nigeria are more fundamental than most people realise.

According to the article, Nigerians ridicule Nigeria because the country has done nothing for them. But he forgot that there was a time and a generation that this country did a lot for. But that generation never gave back just like this generation. There was a time when if you get into a university, you are given the best of meals. You were treated like a king. You were give a car loan as soon as you graduate. Some of us even tasted a bit of it in our primary school days. But that generation turned and pooed on this country. They plied good smooth roads. Insecurity wasn't such a big problem. We didn't have fences around our houses when we were very small. We had flowers. But that generation bastardised a country that treated them wonderfully. Nigerians back then didn't even need visas to travel. But those who enjoyed those facilities are the same people that plundered the country. Most of them are within the ages of 50 and 70. That is why I insist that the problem is something that is far more fundamental. I think what we have is what is called a failure of cultures is sociology. I will try and do a piece on it. The simple way to put it is, a kingdom divided against itself, will not stand. When you commit a project or an enterprise to 2 or more fellows who have completely different visions of their future and completely different value systems, what will result is a plunder. Each man will try to harvest the system and they will not give anything back. The end product will be chaos and destruction.

Jesus founded the catholic church? Peter was first pope? Where on earth did you get that from? Certainly not from the bible! Is that what they teach you guys in your church? All the first Christians were Jews, not Romans and they certainly weren't politicians like the pope and cardinals. Emperor constantine was the first pope. He merged the church and state and made christianity a state religion. Prior to him, christians were hunted and persecuted all over europe. No Jewish christian could have become a pope when the romans hated, hunted and almost annihilated the Jews. Read your history man, not just your cathcism.

sharp man: This is strange!!!

Is it the workers union that deducts and remits pension contribution or the employer?

My understanding is that the employer does the deductions since the salary is paid by them and then remits to the pension fund administrator. so how come the workers union is involved in this case?

Its the workers union peeps that are in charge. the connivance is from the top PHCN management.

There are so many people in Nigeria that don't want the power reform to work. This was part of what OBJ faced when he started his own power reform. 90 percent of Nigeria's power problem is because of sabotage. You can even see many comment here of people taking sides with the PHCN workers against the FG. They are talking like the workers actually deserve any kobo. Our fellow Nigerians are our worst enemies.

Politics / Re: Northern Muslim Elders To Asari Dokubo: Go And Read Your History by edicolove: 11:08am On Aug 14, 2012
This is my humble take:

1. I know the Ibos feel betrayed by the Yorubas and Ijaws but to continue to fight ourselves is only making the core north have the dominance. We are only playing into their hands.
2. I think the Yorubas should drop their pride on this and admit that the decision to side with the North against Biafra is what we are all suffering today. If we had kept to the Aburi accord, we would have been a different country today.
3. The continous disagreement between the Ibos and Yorubas is costing us all. Even the middle belt has opted out of the North. The plateau state governor did not even attend the last Northern govs meeting.
4. The Niger Delta has realised that it was a mistake to side with the North against Biafra. A big mistake. The Ibos truly can be domineering in terms of coming into your place to owns businesses, but Ibo communities easily blend in with their host communities and even learn the language fast. They don't come together as Ibos to fight their host except when they are being targeted like you have in the North. Ibos and Yorubas have lived together peacefully in the south west for ages.
5. Having said the above, I make bold to say that the day the Ibos, Yorubas, Southern Minorities agree on federalism, the core North will keep shut. Especially now that the middle belt are extracting themselves from the mix.
6. I will say this, though I know it might be controversial. I think the muslim Yorubas are the ones aligning mostly with the North. They seem to allow their religion blind them into believing that the core north are their brothers. But unfortunately, the core North don't even regard them as true muslims. In many mosques in the North, Yoruba muslims pray separately from the hausa muslims. I even observed something funny somewhere in Lagos. Some of my. Yoruba Muslim guys once complained that the hausa aboki refused to join them in their normal prayer. He would either pray on his own in a secluded corner or wait for everyone to finish praying before going into the mosque to do his own praying. I thought they were kidding until I actually observe him doing it, myself.
7. Finally, anyone who says they can stand aside in a war has no clue. Even if you don't ask for it, it will get to you. Many communities were sacked during the civil war. They didn't do anything. It is what war brings. So the only way to secure ourselves is to come together and fight. Only a mad cow infested northern army will go to war against a united southern Nigeria. They won't survive one month at most. But a divided southern Nigeria is going to be a completely different kettle of fish. But believe me too, a united south east and south south is also a formidable group. A combination of the will, the population and the oil is a good bet anyday

The Prof is firing on all cylinders on twitter. On point prof!

@ProfBartNnaji: Shiroro Hydro Power plant is generating 550MW out of the designed capacity of 600MW and has not been shut down."

"@ProfBartNnaji: Shiroro is a major contributor to the unprecedented quantum of 4,237MW plus 70MW spinning reserve which has been generated since Aug 7, 2012"

"@ProfBartNnaji: We are very much aware that there are some elements viciously opposed to improved electricity supply"

"@ProfBartNnaji: and are working in cahoots with forces benefitting from the corrupt and decadent order"

"@ProfBartNnaji: which has for decades kept the nation down, impeded economic growth and adversely affected social life"

"@ProfBartNnaji: These unpatriotic and subversive elements actively and secretly promote the business interests of a notorious cabal in the power sector."

"@ProfBartNnaji: The Nigerian people should watch out for these saboteurs working against improved power supply."

"@ProfBartNnaji: The Federal Government remains resolute in the determination to end forever the electricity blight."

"@ProfBartNnaji: In recognition of their vital role in national dev, Government approved a 50% increase in salary for the PHCN staff since June of 2011"

"@ProfBartNnaji: Government also set aside for them a percentage of shares of the 17 PHCN successor companies being privatized"

"@ProfBartNnaji: converted some 10,000 casual workers to permanent staff, and paid the staff N57billion for the monetized benefits denied them since 2003"

"@ProfBartNnaji: Government has also magnanimously agreed to pay 25% of their salary as part of the severance in the wake of the privatization of PHCN assets"

"@ProfBartNnaji: even though they did not make any contributions to the pension scheme up to July 1, 2004, when the Pension Reform Act came into effect."

"@ProfBartNnaji: Despite the failure of both the PHCN mgt & workers to contribute 7.5% each of the workers’ salary to the pension scheme as required by law"

"@ProfBartNnaji: Government has offered to pay 15% of each PHCN employee’s salary as part of the retirement benefits."

"@ProfBartNnaji: I would like to assure Nigerians that the worst days are over as far as power is concerned. The current improvement is not irreversible(I think he meant reversible. Should be a typo)."

"@ProfBartNnaji: The programme for power development in Nigeria to international standards is very much on course"

I think he is responding to rumour making the rounds that shiroro has been shut down because of PHCN strike.
It is obvious, some Nigerians are not happy with the progress. Very sad!

Control your power usage. That's the whole idea. That is what is done all over the world. Use it when you need it. If you go to the UK, you will be amazed how peeps manage power. I have seen boys discussing inside darkness just to save cost. But back here, if there is power, the fridge runs for 24 hours, you plug the iron and just leave it on while you are attending to other things. The tv is permanently on. All the ACs are working in a 3 bedroom flat when you are at home and you don't even remember to put off your appliances when you go out. The culture needs to change. I save cost on my power and pay less bills now even with this new tarrif because of the way I control my power usage. That's the beauty of prepaid meters.

Kobojunkie:

I doubt these kind of government polices will be it. The Government can as well help improve local wheat growth too. I believe the Abacha government tried something similar and what ended up happening was that price of local grown shot up almost as high as imported. What then followed was that people went back to the higher quality imports in no time.
So, mandating 40% cassava content in all pastries alone will likely force the local price up. What probably needs to go with this is price control, to ensure the price does not remain as high as when imports were used. Probably a subsidy program. grin

Nigerian climate is not favourable to wheat farming unlike casava. Casava literarily grows everywhere an is easy to cultivate and harvest. In addition, the vast majority of Nigerian farmers, particularly in the south, are already into casava farming. So this just gives them a reason to increase their capacity and income. Pricing is a function of competition. The reason the cement market is having a problem of pricing is because competition is low. With casava farming, competition is high and no one will want their casava to rot away because of high prices. If the ministry of agric can sustain this, it has the capacity to revolutionise Nigeria. Already since this year, casava farming has gone viral in many states in south Nigeria.

And its 20% casava, not 40%. I don't think the real idea is about making it mandatory. That's not the point. The point is that it will reduce cost for bakers and also reduce capital flight. This is very important for the economy

that's my concern, because the completed water project in Edo seems not to be true

This is what the journalists should have asked. It is their civic duty to investigate and provide society with balanced information.

For a society to function properly, all the different components must function. One of the big problem with Nigeria is that many of the very important components of modern societies don't function. These include the Press, NGOs and the Judiciary. The Nigerian press is busy indulging in partisan politics. It is important we educate Nigerians on the workings of society. It is called participatory government. I believe all these projects should be classified into four groups.

1. Those that have been awarded but work not started yet.
2. Projects where work have started but are at an early stage or at an advanced stage.
3. Those that have been completed but but have not been commisioned. Building infrastructure is not the only thing sometimes. Some projects require qualified and fully trained personel before they can take off. Others require interoperability with other agencies both in the government and private sectors.
4. Projects that have been commisioned and functional

It is important that our journalists step up their trade. The government has given her statement. The ball is in the court of the Nigerian press.

Religion / Re: Re-must I Pay Tithe To Get To Heaven? by edicolove: 5:18pm On Aug 12, 2012
You put yourself in a little predicament when you ask this on a public forum because 70% of the response you will get will be posts from people who have no clue on the subject but will be trying to make fun of you.

Having said that, here it is. Tithing is a good thing but is in no way compulsory or mandatory. It is funny that tithing is always preached from Malachi in the old testament. The new testament has no instruction on tithing because it is not compulsory. This same new testament has instructions on every other ordinance. Breaking of bread, baptism, prayer, giving of alms, church attendance, etc are all spelt out in the new testament but not tithing. Tithing was only mentioned 3 times in the new testament. 2 of those times, it was not even in a positive light. The third one is in hebrews 4, where paul was teaching about the priesthood of Jesus and used Abraham's tithe to melchizedek to explain the priesthood of Jesus. He never said we should do it. Abraham only had one record of tithing and it was not even from his property. There was no other record of tithing till moses got the law. Even when tithing was instituted in the law, there were 3 different types of tithing to different sets of people. We are in the last days where emphasis is being placed on mammon so you hear a lot of wrong messages. The only criteria to make heaven is to repent and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you will receive the righteousness of God and go on to live a holy life for God.

There is no where in the new testament where the bible says tithing is required for God to bless you. The bible says you have been blessed already if you are born again. if you allow fear to limit you, then that's your problem. Malachi says you are cursed because in the old testament it was a different ball game. You cannot curse a new testament believer. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. You cannot curse a new creation.

Financial blessings are not dependent on tithing else no unbeliever will be rich. Bill Gates does not tithe, neither does many of the richest men in the world. But they are great givers and they are rich materially. Financial blessings are dependent on the works of your hands. If you learn, understand and operate good financial and investment principles, you will be rich. Sure there is also the opportunity factor and Gods favour. What God promises is that he will keep you and guide you but if you don't invest, you will not prosper even if you give 100% of your income. The bible even says clearly, let him that does not work, let him not eat.
Islam for Muslims / Re: American Pastor Joins Muslims In Ramadan Fast by edicolove: 2:18pm On Aug 10, 2012
The guy is not a serious pastor. Many christians fast sometimes as much as seven days without food. Millions of Christians fast for 3 days without food at least once a year. If the so called pastor has not fasted this much before, he certainly is not a true pastor. Most Christians really don't consider the muslims kind of fast as fasting because if I have to eat that much before 6am in the morning, I don't think I will feel like am fasting at all. That is not to say the muslims fasting is wrong, just saying we Christians view fasting differently and actually in a more stringent way. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on fasting but these American pastors just fulfil the prophecy of Jesus that in the last days, false prophets shall arise.

Billyonaire:

The bastardizing of Nigeria by the mindless, who hate the nation. Monumental injustice to a people: 20 Owners Of Richest Oil Blocks In Nigeria Without the people of Niger Delta on whose soil the oil was found. All between Hausa and Yoruba. They constitutes the main opposition to President Goodluck Jonathan today. Read on:

(1) This oil block business is so lucrative that Danjuma’s Sapetro divested of its investment in Akpo condensate for $1billion dollars. This business is second to none in Nigeria. That is why any attempt to investigate the activities in this sector will always be futile. The money is so much that they give bribes in millions of dollars. A birthday gift or child naming gift from an oil block owner to a government official could be as paltry as $2million dollars, and if the official’s father died, the condolence gift could reach mere $3 million dollars. When they want to bribe legislators, it is in millions of dollars and any ongoing investigation ends within weeks. They are so confident that with excess money they can buy up Nigeria and they are succeeding

(2) OML 110 with high yield OBE oil fields was given Cavendish Petroleum owned by Alhaji Mai Daribe, the Borno Patriarch in 1996 by Sanni Abacha. OBE oil field has estimated over 500 million barrels of oil. In layman’s language and using average benchmark of $100 dollars per barrel, translates to $50 billion dollars worth of oil reserve. When you remove the taxes, royalties and sundry duties worth about 60% of the reserve payable over time you get about $20billion dollars worth of oil in the hands of a family.

(3) OPL 246 was awarded to SAPETRO, a company owned by General Theophilus Danjuma, by Sanni Abacha in 1998. Akpo condensate exports about 300,000 barrels of crude daily.

(4) NOML 112 and OML 117 were awarded to AMNI International Petroleum Development Company owned by Colonel Sanni Bello in 1999. Sanni Bello is an inlaw to Abdulsalami Abubakar, former Head of State of Nigeria.

(5) OML 115, OLDWOK Field and EBOK field was awarded to Alhaji Mohammed Indimi from Niger State. Indimi is an inlaw to former Military President Ibrahim Babangida.

(6) OML 215 is operated by Nor East Petroleum Limited owned by Alhaji Saleh Mohammed Gambo.

(7) OML 108 is operated by Express Petroleum Company Limited is owned by Alhaji Aminu Dantata.

(cool OML II3 allocated to Yinka Folawiyo Pet Ltd is owned by Alhaji W.I. folawiyo

(9)ASUOKPU/UMUTU marginal oil fields is operated by Seplat Petroleum. Seplat is owned by Prince Nasiru Ado Bayero, cousin to the Central Bank Governor Lamido Sanusi. This oil field has the capacity of 300,000 barrels of oil daily. This translates to $30million dollars daily at average benchmark of $100 dollars per barrel. Deducting all sundry taxes, royalties etc , this field can yield $12billion dollars daily for the owners .

(10)Intel owned by Atiku, Yarádua and Ado Bayero has substantial stakes in Nigeria’s oil exploration industry both in Nigeria and Principe and Sao Tome.

(11) AMNI owns two oil blocks OML 112 and OML 117 which it runs Afren plc and Vitol has substantial stakes in oil blocks. Afren plc is operating EBOK oil fields in OML 67. Vitol lifts 300,000 barrels of Nigerian oil daily. Rilwanu Lukman, former OPEC Chairman has stakes in all these named three companies.

(12) OPL 245 was awarded to Malabu Oil& Gas Company by Sanni Abacha. Dan Etete, Abacha’s oil minister owns Malabu Oil. In 2000, Vice President Atiku Abubakar convinced Obasanjo to revoke OPL 245 given to Malabu Oil. Etete had earlier rejected Atiku’s demand for substantial stakes in the high yield OPL 245 and it attracted the venom of Ota Majesty who revoked the licence. However, in 2006, Obasanjo had mercy on Dan Etete and gave him back his oil block worth over $20 billion dollars.

(13) OPL 289 and OPL 233 was awarded during Obasanjo era to Peter Odili fronts, Cleanwater Consortium, consisting of Clenwater Refinery and RivGas Petroleum and Gas Company. Odili’s brother in law, Okey Ezenwa manages the consortium as Vice Chairman.

(14) OPL 286 is managed by Focus Energy in partnership with BG Group, a British oil concern. Andy Uba has stakes in Focus Energy and his modus operandi is such that you can never see his name in any listings yet he controls OPL and OML through proxies

(15)OPL 291 was awarded to Starcrest Energy Nigeria Limited, owned by Emeka Offor by Obasanjo . Immediately after the award, Starcrest sold the oil block to Addax Petroleum Development Company Limited (ADDAX) Addax paid Sir Emeka Offor a farming fee of $35million dollars and still paid the signature bonus to the government. Emeka Offor still retains stake in ADDAX operations in Nigeria.

(16) Mike Adenuga’s Conoil is the oldest indigenous oil exploration industry in Nigeria. Conoil has six oil blocks and exports above 200,000 barrels of crude daily.

(17)The oil block national cake sharing fiesta could take twists according to the mood of the Commander-in –Chief at the particular time. In 2006, Obasanjo revoked OPL 246 which Abacha gave to Danjuma because he refused to support the tenure elongation bid of the Ota Majesty. In 2000, Obasanjo had earlier revoked OPL 241 given to Dan Etete under the advice Atiku. However, when the Obasanjo-Atiku faceoff started, the Ota Majesty made a u-turn and handed back the oil block to Etete.

(18)During the time of Late President Yarádua , a panel headed by Olusegun Ogunjana was set up to investigate the level of transparency in the award of oil blocks. The panel recommended that 25 oil blocks awarded by the Obasanjo be revoked because the manner they were obtained failed to meet the best practices in the industry. Sadiq Mahmood, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum endorsed the report to then president with all its recommendations. As a result of the report Yarádua revoked eleven oil blocks.

(19) In April 2011 Mike Adenuga attempted to buy Shell’s OML 30 for $1.2 billion dollars. The Minister for Petroleum and Nigeria’s most powerful woman refused the sale of the OML30 to Adenuga citing national interest. This block was later sold to Heritage Oil for $800 million dollars eleven months later.

(20) In the name of competitive bidding, which Obasanjo introduced in 2005, Officials bring companies overnight and through processes best described as secretive and voodooist they award blocks to party faithful, fronts and phoney companies. They collect gratifications running into hundreds of millions of dollars which is paid into offshore account and the nation loses billions of dollars of revenue to private pockets.

During the third term agenda, Obasanjo was deceived that the allocation of oil block to party faithfuls is to fund the third term agenda. With the failure of the third term, the beneficiaries went home with their fortunes and thanked God or Allah for buttering their bread. Senator Andy Uba co ordinate the award of the last rounds of oil block by Obasanjo in 2005 and 2007. The then minister of petroleum, Edwin Daukoru was a mere errand boy who took instructions from the presidential aide

The process of sharing Nigeria’s oil block national cake is as fraudulent now as when Ibrahim Babangida started the process of discretionary allocation of oil blocks to indigenous firms. Discretionary allocation of oil blocks entails that a president can reward a mistress who performs wonderfully with an oil block with capacity for cumulative yield of over $20 billion dollars without recourse to any process outside of manhood attachments. Babangida, Abacha, Abdulsalami and Obasanjo awarded discretionary oil blocks to friends, associates, family members, party chieftains, security chiefs and all categories of bootlickers, spokespersons and cult members without any laid down procedures.

The recipients of such oil blocks will get funds from ever willing offshore financiers and partners to graciously settle the benefactors, the awarders, facilitators and the Commander-in-Chief through fronts. These settlements mostly paid into foreign accounts runs into hundreds of millions of dollars according to the potential yield of the block. Sometimes, the awarder (sharer of national cake and direct intermediaries) demand additional stakes in the bidding company. The awarder sends fronts as part of the directorship and management of the bidding firms without leaving a link to them. That is how the oil block national cake is distributed to a few Nigerians.

Signature bonuses which are paid when an investor successfully bids, wins and signs agreement with the petroleum ministry, running into tens of millions and sometimes hundreds of millions of naira ,is often waived off. There is actually no waiver; rather a diversion of what would have been paid to government t coffers is paid into private purse as appreciation gifts. That is why those in the Petroleum Ministry dread retirement as though it signifies going to hell fire. No matter how little your influence, something substantial must enter your hands especially in hard currency. The nation loses billions of dollars in diverted revenue whenever any round of auction occurs.

The regime of President Goodluck is not showing any signs of changing the status quo. Controversies have trailed the activities of the Minister of Petroleum and many players in the Industry accuse her of demanding stakes from every oil deal. It is hoped that President Goodluck Jonathan will remember his transformational promise to Nigerians and endeavour to face the hawks in the oil industry.

The angst in the air is so much that if this monster of illegal allocation of oil block is not addressed, the much touted revolution could begin all of a sudden and all who condoned this illegality at the expense of hungry Nigerians may have nowhere to hide.

This should be on the front page and one every social network and forum out there.

Billyonaire: 85% OIL BLOCS ARE OWNED BY NORTHERNERS. MOST OF THESE LICENSES ARE EXPIRING BETWEEN 2017-2019. THEY WANT THE PRESIDENCY BY 2015 SO THEY CAN RENEW THESE LICENSES. SOUTHERNERS, WE ARE THE GREATEST MINDS IN THIS COUNTRY. SHOULD WE ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN ?

Just being curious. Who are these oil block owners self? Any list and possibly expiry dates?

If they like let them bomb themselves to extinction but I know that if they sow wind for GEJ they will reap whirlwind. Those who keep saying GEJ should do this or do that talk like only the president can single handedly change the constitution of Nigeria. Even OBJ as tough as he is could not just amend the constitution the way he liked. The biggest factor in changing the constitution is the NASS and those MF will never do it. They are only interested in their pockets.

Now I see why clark is really speaking up. As a sitting president you cannot be the one to take a sectional stance. It will backfire. It has to come from leaders of thought who are not directly in government. Maybe the ND just need to stoke the fire a bit more, then we see were it goes
