All the southern governors are giving their people free education. Why are the northern state governors not doing the same? Why are they not encouraging their people to go to school? Is it the southern leaders that will go and beg the average northerner to go to school? Rochas is even paying students to go to school. What are the governors of Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi, Niger, Zamfara, etc doing to lift the educational status of their people? Is it FG that should do it for them? Is it the FG that is doing it for the southern states? This is very annoying! You people need to wake up, take a look at yourself and tell yourself the truth. You have been bewitched and raped by your leaders. Go back and take it up with them. Your leaders started and instituted corruption in Nigeria. Ask tham what they have done with the allocations since 1960. You are here typing crap on the Internet while states like Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Enugu, Imo and more are turning into great states. Even the slow Delta and Bayelsa and Ebonyi are gradually joining the train. If you dont change now, you will wake up one day and will require visas to enter these places, mark my words!

SmoothCrim: I ultimately agree with the conclusions of the committee. The real issue is economics. Solve that and there would not be a problem. The North is much poorer than the South and that is where the problem starts. Another problem is there are too many distinct ethnic groups who don't have much of a relationship with each other prior to colonialism thus, there is a real mess of trying to create that now. On top of that when Tyou add corruption and the desire for power(the people be damned) you get what is ultimately a failed state which can't secure it's borders, can't give its citizens needed resources(in the midst of abundance) and other ills. Those who suffer the most from this is the common Northerner which is suffering from extreme poverty when compared to the South.
Honestly, posts like these annoy me seriously. Who made the north poor? Is it my father? Or my local government chairman? Is it not the same leaders of the north? Did they not have the power and control for over 40 years? Was Buhari not in charge of PTF for so many years and was giving an almost limitless purse? What did he do with it? What did the northern presidents do with their powers from gowon to Yaradua? They were sponsoring hajj for 40 years! Now the new one is, they are arguing about Ramadan rams and doling out wives to men while their southern governors are building serious infrastructure for the future. It is a southern president that is even building Almajiri school for you folks. This is just crazy. And you lot will never hold your leaders accountable. All your governors rule their states from Abuja. You think we dont know what is happening? Go to the so called local governments that are collecting monthly allocation. All they do is come to the office at the end of the month and share the allocation and go back to Abuja or france or the US. Their children are driving porche cars in the UK and US. IBB did not even do anything for his own state Niger. There is no industry, no schools, no hospitals, nada! same with Shagari, Gowon and Abacha. Every year, some of your states produce like 10 to 20 graduates and they are immediately given ridiculous jobs that are supposed to be for people with PHD and 20 years experience. Now you are supporting the destruction of your own land. Can you imagine the reverse mindset? Thinking that it will help you gain power back. What a stup1d way to think.

You folks have been serious dead weight for 50+ years. Get off our back so we can move on. pathetic!

Kobojunkie: A well known thief that the people re-elected only last year? A well-known theif that continues to occupy an important seat in the Nation.

Look, it is too easy to sit and call them all thieves, but at the end of the day, either you get off your butt and present whatever evidence you have to shame 'em and maybe get others to push him out,or you accept that this is what you have to work with to get what you want.

So whether you think him a thief of not, that is beside the point. What is is that the man sits as senate president, and he is right that we need to get the trash exposed, and out. How, only the people will decide that one.

It is easy to sit and tell stories. What Nigeria needs are active citizens, and it really does not take much to act. You claim your relative worked there as a personal aide. Na only story im bring back for you?

Like I said, the man has made yet another vow, it is up to the Nigerian people to see to it that he does not go back on it.
Shameless hypocrite! Does this same argument not apply to GEJ? But when it comes to GEJ, you prefer to open your dirty mouth and insult him. Hypocrite with double standards! See how you are speaking from both sides of your mouth. All of you are exposing yourself day by day. You are definitely a paid sycophant doing your masters bidden.

@Lacasa, I asked for just one project in the south and you gave me an empty epistle about PTF. In the end, you couldn't mention one PTF project I can point to. I am from niger delta and I know every nook and cranny. I cannot see any serious project that was done by PTF. Even the PTI warri was finally built and commisioned under OBJ/Ibori. The Benin-Asaba road which is currently one of the best roads in Nigeria was built by OBJ. The PH-Warri road was started during Iboris time and is still ongoing. The benin-ore road in just being completed after years of neglect. PH-Aba road is still there. Enugu-onitsha has just been completed. So please where did PTF build road in the south. There is no PTF road in akwa ibom, cross river, rivers. Where is it please? I will wait patiently for you. Telling us he disbursed monies to who? Is that how they shared it? Interesting? Where you a beneficiary? Hmmm!

One good thing you have done though is to show us how much was really given to the crook Buhari. Imagine the value of 60 billion in 1994. This guy collected over 100billion in the 90s and we still can't point to anything of worth he did. And you say he is not corrupt? You are exposing the guy big time!

Hello, I will like to introduce you to someone who will supply you authentic drugs. That stuff you are using is really messing up your brain cells. So the ministers of those ministries you listed under abacha or IBB or Shagari or Gowon, etc, controlled the country and the funds abi? I know you were probably born around 1990 because you would have known that the few people that were indicted for corruption under the shagari regine were northerners. Remember Umaro Dikko? You think any southerner had the mouth or liver under abacha or IBB? You even mentioned Aikhomo? You are a full time comedian? Id1ota!

Sincerely, let's be truthful. The north is maginalized. You all know they are born to rule. They are supposed to be president forever so since there is a southern president and they are only common vice president, senate president, house of reps speaker, NSA, IG of police, CJN, it isn't fair. They should be president as well. They should also head customs, army, navy, airforce and nnpc. Anything short of that is pure maginalization. The country must be fair to them.

I can see you have no shame. All you can do is throw insults around. After lying that GEJ has not done one thing, I listed 10 for you and @dedeike went on to give you detailed information for your ignorance. Having been found out as a LIAR, you think insults will give you an escape route? You are really dumb!

YOU HAVE LIED! YOU ARE A LIAR!!!

Nobody said anywhere that GEJ constructed the whole Benin-Ore road. You are a bare faced liar! You are a paid BH apologist with an agenda to make Nigeria ungovernable. We know you. ifeci: Wow, I read your post and the constant denominator of all u wrote was "ongoing"! which of these past corrupt presidents didn't have something ongoing? Regarding the less than 5% that you tagged completed, how many are functional? about electoral reforms, are talking about having a presidential election before Governorship so that Governors can be held accountable if they don't deliver their states to your master GEJ like we saw in the last election? Please educate me more as I hv been lacking in some of these things that you wrote about!
Now I can confidently confirm that you need some serious education. 5 items of the 10 I listed are done. How does that translate to 5%? Or you can't read again?

Secondly, where you expecting the government to complete power reform, railway reform, building of roads and police reform in 1 year? You are very funny. Like I said, they are ongoing and the proof is there for all to see, except of course, you are one of the GEJ haters. I don't need to say more.

I will help your ignorance and bigoted blindness and name many:

1. FOI bill done
2. Railway reform ongoing
3. Port reforms done and sweet
4. Police reform ongoing and cool. No more N20 roadblocks for first time since I was born.
5. Official secrets act repealed
6. Electoral reforms done
7. Power reform ongoing and looking very good
8. Road projects doing great: Benin-Ore, Enugu-Onitsha, and several others around the country in good shape after many years of neglect.
9. PIB on course
10. Fuel scarcity gone after donkey years of suffering

Are you satisfied now?

Nigerians now see this amnesty thing as a fruitless effort hence making him (GEJ) the most ridiculous and Messed Leader since creation of this blessed nation..

God Bless Nigeria.
You want GEJ to fail but you lot will be disappointed shamefully. Amnesty program is a huge success and there's nothing you lot can do about it. Comparing Militants to Boko Aram will only make you look even more foolish. Let the north harness their resources. Do you know why Boko Aram cannot claim they are fighting for poverty alleviation? Because their own leaders caused their poverty. That's right! Their leaders ruled for over 40yrs and there was nothing to show for it. It would be an indictment on their sponsors if they say they are fighting for development. Is it not funny that Niger Delta is undergoing tremendous development under GEJ? Most of you who talk trash are from the north west or north east or south west because you think it is your right to rule. Times have changed bro. Get a grip!
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua More Reliable Than Jonathan – Ex-militants by edicolove: 2:34pm On Jul 07, 2012
Kobojunkie: That is not true. I don't believe this group are of those who refused. There were militant groups who were added to the list well over a year after the initial package was signed. I remember Abia/Imo kidnappers were added to the list about a year after the initial amnesty package deal was signed. And yes, since they and others got offered the package, it makes sense for them to demand they also be paid. Abi no be so?
Why is it that you wouldn't mind selling your soul to attack GEJ? See how you are resorting to lies. Have you no shame? I am from Niger Delta and I know how the amnesty program has been going so far. I have relatives there. Some of us would even have joined them if not that we have outgrown that. They told them clearly to drop their arms and embrace amnesty, but some of them refused. The government gave them a very long rope but they didn't believe the government will deliver. It was their choice to make. Those who came out were taken care of and are (some have been) being trained all over the world.

Over 26 thousand militants have gone thru the scheme. For your information, not everyone on that scheme are real militants. Many boys saw the opportunity and claimed militancy and were included. Now they are enjoying it. These fools refused to come out because they were listening to people like henry Okah telling them trash.

They are fools because government will crush them easily. All the top militant leaders have surrendered.

At no time were Aba kidnappers giving amnesty like the militants. Aba people themselves crushed the kidnappers. You just sit down in the US and talk about Nigeria from what you see posted on facebook. Utter rubbish!

PetroDolla: Thought you were trying to make sense till the last paragraph. what do you mean by Ghana's export to Nigeria is massive? exports like what? I know Obasanjo arbitrarily banned the importation of some goods from Ghana and the ban is still in place. But I really want to know about this so-called 'massive' Ghanaian export to Nigeria. It also nonsensical to even suggest 'Ghana schools are practically running on nigerian cash.' that is an incredibly dumb thing to say because it is the kinda falsehood peddled solely by nigerians to massage their ego. So why don't you tell your people to withdraw their children from schools in Ghana so our educational system will collpse, huh? utter crap!
Different societies have their pros and cons. If you don't know that, you shouldn't be posting on this forum. That is what I practically tried to lay out in my post. The Burger snack and Alomo bitters are examples of exports coming from Ghana into Nigeria and it is massive. Alomo bitter has become one of the most popular alcoholic drinks in Nigeria.

Also, thousands of Nigerians are paying mega dollars in Ghanian schools and that is a fact. the argument is not that Ghanian schools will crash if Nigerians leave. Rather it is the fact that the mega dollars Nigerians are paying is adding to the growth of the Ghanian economy and thatcannot be denied.

BusinessRe: Ghanaian Government Closes Nigerian Businesses In Accra. by edicolove: 12:40am On Jul 07, 2012
This is really a sad thread. I have lived a bit in Ghana and have Ghanian friends and can tell you that both countries have their pros and cons. Both countries need each other. But most importantly, I want to put the following straight:

1. Doing business in a foreign land is not necessarily a function of the fact that your country is not well developed. The world is a global village. In fact, british business men have been making investments in foreign lands since the 16th century. People will continue to migrate for many reasons. Even when Nigeria attain 24hrs electricity, people will still migrate to other countries and setup businesses. These immigrants should be treated with respect. As improved as Ghana is, there are still many Ghanians living and working in Nigeria and they aint thinking of going back to Ghana even with better conditions there.

2. Yes, there are many Nigerians in Ghana who are into criminal activities but there are also many law abiding Nigerians there. It is wrong to pass blanket judgement on all Nigerians in Ghana. Nigerians are about the most accomodating people I have seen

3. It is sad that Nigerians are amongst the most unpatriotic people in the world. When Ghana was so bad that you practically needed a bag of money to buy a loaf of bread, you would not see any Ghanian talk down on their country. Never!!! Just reading thru the thread and seeing how Nigerians insult and talk down on their country is the proof of why Nigeria will take a long time to move forward. The way people like shymmex and co talk down on Nigeria, you just know they cannot contribute one thing to Nigeria's growth. Those who develop don't have the time to critisize. A ghanian will never insult his/her country. Not because their country is doing well but because that's their mindset. And it is that mindset that is turning their country around. All the people insulting Nigeria on this thread do not contribute anything to her growth. They are asking the FG to develop the country. They are selfish and wicked. I lived in Ghana a bit. The country is being developed by every Ghanian, not their government, every Ghanian contributes their lot. I will give you an example.

My brother took a taxi in accra some years back. He bought ice cream and after eating the ice cream, he threw the paper pack out the window while the taxi was driving.along. That day, what happened made me to understand why Ghana was doing better than Nigeria. The street practically stood still. The taxi driver stopped and asked my brother to get down. The whole street in unison, insulted the living daylight out of my brother. There was no police or lastma or kai. It was just normal Ghanian citizens standing up for their country and demanding a certain standard. They didn't need the government to come from the state house to do it. Here in Nigeria, no one cares. Instead of taking a stand, they will prefer to come on Nairaland to insult the government and their country. Instead of sending information to government about BH, they will rather come here to tell us how incompetent the government is. They are wicked, selfish and lazy.

4. Ghanians are scared of one thing and it is hard to blame them. Nigerians go to a place and try to run it over. Nigerians are too loud. A Nigerian cannot make money and just live a normal life. He would want to show off unnecessarily. This is the same reason Nigerians are having problems in SA and places like Lybia, Gambia, Kenya, etc.

But I can tell you that both countries need each other. Ghana export to Nigeria is massive and would impact on their economy is we severe ties. Alomo bitters and Burger alone are posting huge revenues for Ghana because of Nigerian market. Ghana schools are practically running on Nigerian cash. Its an old mutual relationship that must not crumble!

dedeike: We have developed a penchant in this country not to see anything good in govt's actions. Personally, i was surprised that govt wants to set up another committee to re probe what another committtee had probed. But when I read thru the topic, I could not help but agree with the FG that a review committtee was necessary. The essence of probes is to unveil truth not witchunting. Where several people have expressed reservations over the outcome of a probe. The most reasonable thing to do is to offer them another opportunity for a review. It accords with the basic principles of natural justice. That is why litigations in courts do not stop at the trial court. There is always room for appeal. Even in quasi judicial processes like a school disciplinary committees or even football FA's. Decisions are subject to review upon appeal. What has happened in this case is that Govt had set up a committtee headed by AIG IMOUKHEDE of ACCESS BANK to investigate the sector. Upon the submission of the report, President GEJ reiterated his resolve to prosecute all those indicted. This led to an array of protests from those indicted and others who hitherto did not take the comittee seriously. What should a responsible govt do? Shut its doors against such complaints? Or proceed to implementation without reviewing a report allegedly signed by one man? It takes a Hitler president not to give due considerations to the arising appeals. More especially, when the FG wants to take drastic actions against those indicted. Contrary to insinuations portrayed on this forum, I think it's a measure of the President's seriousness to enforce the report that he set out for a review. If he doesn't want to enforce the report, he would have simply given a fine speech commending the committee members for a job well done and consign the report to the dustbin of failed reports. We won't get to be discussing about it by now and it will gradually fade from our consciousness. But this is not so. Judging from the composition of the committee alone, you will acknowledge that the president is serious. The calibre of people there are not people who will sneak to a marketers house at night to do cap banking. I wonder how much you will cough out to bribe the chairman-AIG IMOUKEHEDE OF ACCESS Bank who swims in billions. The membership is all inclusive as every field is represented. It's a far cry from the House probe involving only politicians. They have a mandate to submit the report in less than 2 weeks. So why this noise?
Thanks for the masterpiece. As for the noise, it is simply part of the grand plot to make the country ungovernable and ensure this government fails. The Internet arm of BH, championed by dogs and baboons like Demdem and Lacasa are very much active and earning their every blood dollar! But they will fail woefully as always..
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Not Ripe Enough For State Police - IGP by edicolove: 11:40am On Jul 06, 2012
State police in Nigeria=Legalised militia and will lead to the birth of 36 "Boko Aram like" groups.

Boko Aram, Bakassi are examples of outfits that started "like" state police. See how the former Borno governor used BH to his political advantage. That and more is how governors will use state police.

The only good that will come out of state police is that it will lead to the disintegration of Nigeria. It will start with serious fights and gun battles between the federal police and state police outfits. Have you seen how the police and army fight each other? The last time it happened in Surulere, it was war.

Nigeria is not ripe for state police. We should not have gotten independence in 1960. We should have gotten independence in 1990 or even 95. We would have been like SA now.

One of the agents sent to accomplish the hits wrote about it after giving his life to Christ, his name is John Elliot and the book is the " AUGUST ASSASSIN " which you can buy on Amazon. He was a contract killer for the State Department and also worked for the MOSSAD.

To show you how scary America is the State Department has its own killer squad separate from the CIA, FBI , DEA , ATF AND A HOST OF OTHERS. That is why killing ABACHA AND ABIOLA WAS A PIECE OF CAKE FOR THEM.

Read the book " THE AUGUST ASSASSIN " and realize that al hazards is just seeking cheap publicity from a well known assassination of Arafat by the Israelis.

Honestly, some of the comments I have read here is so hilarious, I have been having a laugh all day. Let's hear them:

1. "The audio is not conclusive, therefore it cannot be administered as evidence in court"

So what is supposed to make it conclusive? Good morning or Eka ro or what? The issue is that a man collected bribe. That issue is captured in the audio. What else will a judge be asking for?

2. "The audio is doctored"

Wow! You know that how? Have you analyzed it on a spectrometer or pitch detection machine or what? Or you are saying that because farouk says so? If Farouk claims that in court, they will simply bring in foreign forensic guys from scotland yard to analyze it. Its that simply. But again, they might not need to do that because Farouk has already agreed to collecting the money.

3. "This is arranged to distract us from the subsidy report. Where is our 1.7 trillion"

Is it the same subsidy report compiled by farouk or you are refering to another one? If you have a staff in your office give you a financial report about your organisation and the next day, that staff is caught stealing from the company, are you going to run back to the office to implement his report? Do you guys even reason before you type? You are even quoting figures from the report. Doctored figures? That report is as credible as Farouk Lawan. Implementing that report means you are saying Farouk is innocent. At best, a new probe has to happen and a new report has to be done.

4. "Otedola has something to hide"

The man says put the cameras on me. I wanna sing a hit! The guy is asking for the opportunity to release a chart bursting single man! From where I stand, I don't see him hiding. He is rearing to go.
PoliticsRe: Farouk V Otedola - By Festus Keyamo by edicolove: 2:24pm On Jul 05, 2012
After reading keyamo's post, I am tempted to believe Keyamo read my posts in the last 2 days. I did say very clearly that

1. The money is not necessary to prove anything in court

2. The biggest piece of evidence is not the video and audio in Otedola's possession but the video of Farouk defending Otedola on the floor of the house. That sealed the case. That established motive. That established guilt. That also debunked any claim by Farouk that he was indeed trying to do a sting. And that is the reason why the SSS didn't have to arrest Farouk on site. He could have claimed anything afterwards and even if he wouldn't win in court, he would have won in the court of public opinion because Otedola doesn't have a good public image. He had a lot of that then.

Otedola was neat and proffesional. I duff my hat for him. He is looking as clean as a baby's bottom jusdt after bath. Lol
PoliticsRe: I Will Meet Boko Haram Members For Dialogue – Dasuki by edicolove: 9:41am On Jul 05, 2012
As much as I do not agree with government negotiating with terrorists, I do admit here that the BH situation is peculiar and will need a lot of wisdom to handle. BH is terrorism that has the support of the host community. When terrorism has the support of the host community, it becomes impossible to eradicate. This is the situation in Afghan and Iraq. That is why the US with all their resources have not being able to root it out. When you say in a blanket way that gov should not negotiate with terrorists, you assume that conditions of terrorism are the same all over the world and they are not. The british gov has been negotiating with the IRA for years, though not directly. they have even taking some steps to put in place some of their demands.

My problem with BH is that they have the sympathy and support of the core north. The core north sees it as their best way to negotiate themselves back to power. This report has fully confirmed that. Dasuki went to Borno and he got the BH guys phone numbers. How did he get them? Simple. The members of the community in Borno have it. They have always had it. Why did they not release it before? Because they support the movement. They see it as their ticket back to power. We have to understand the game here.

This is what Gen Azazi was saying when he said that the northern consensus candidate move escalated BH. The violence immediately after the 2011 elections corroborated that. But the dilemma for GEJ is that the south is not united as an entity in fighting this northern agenda because of their regional selfish interests. This is what the core north has always capitalised on since independence. The lack of unity in the south. That is exactly what played out in the choice of Tambuwal as speaker. The ACN and APGA reps aligned with the north. But what they forgot is that the North was united in accepting their own. They hardly ever fight their own. As inept as Yaradua was, they never fought him. The same BH never went around throwing bombs even after Yaradua killed their leader. Isn't that funny. When Turai held Nigeria to ransom, no northern leader spoke against her. Instead they joined her to lie and deceive us that Yaradua was hale and hearty. That is how they roll and I respect them for that. But back here, in the south side, we are like fighting dogs. I mean, just read the posts on NL and you have all the evidence you need. The south has never united in one voice to speak against BH. SNG and others have never really come out to take a stand against it. Instead, they will go around insulting the president. They will emphasize how it is his constitutional duty to protect. But in reality, the conditions of society determines how governance works, not just the laws written in a constitution. There are legal solutions and there are political solutions in governance.

I pity Nigerians because they still have no clue what the problem of Nigeria is. It isn't corruption. It is deep seated division in our national psyche. We are not one. We have never been. No matter how much infrastructure you build, it will not bring peace. It will definitely improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians, but it will not bring peace. Only a sincere negotiation between the entities in Nigeria will bring lasting peace.

comradefery: Most of the critics and abusers of the president either lack indept knowdge on how a government functions, or they are the same sectional jingoists who have chosen the vilification of the President as their pass time. The summon shows how the legislators prefer playing to the gallary, rather than show seriousness in their legislative functions!
I have been around and witnessed so many governments in Nigeria from Shagari down to GEJ. What we are witnessing today is not really criticism. It is a show of the inherent belief in many Nigerians that only an Hausa, Yoruba or Ibo man can rule Nigeria. 80% of the so called criticism against GEJ is not criticism but disrespect and insult and the only reason they do it is because GEJ is from a minority tribe. They are tribalists, though they will try to argue all day that they are not. As inactive as Yaradua was, they never insulted him like this. Bakare and his friends did not insult him like they are doing today. As tyrannical as OBJ was, destroying a whole village, they never insulted him like they are insulting GEJ. Notice how they will never acknowledge any good thing he does. They will find a way to discredit it or try to attribute the credit to Yaradua or OBJ.

The point is, they aren't trying to criticize. They are just tribalists and bigots. GEJ is a very smart guy. He knows their agenda. They have been trying to derail him from day 1. The president has never had one month of peace. Its being attacks all day long. It is amazing how he copes in this kind of aggression. Yaradua would not have survived 3months of this kind of attacks. But in the midst of it all, he has been very focused and is making tremendous strides. Roads across the country is being fixed at incredible speed. Policies are being put in place to secure our future as a country. Vital laws are being signed to put us on a good footing. Power transformation project is on high gear. Niger Delta is going thru a real transformation. Let them go on with their folly. It will make GEJ's triumph much sweeter.
