We don't have oil, we are land locked but we are still growing because we are trying to use what we have in a proper way. If we had united, we could expect better.
Africa has a lot of resources but one thing we didn't understand is that 'it is not about what we have but what we can do with what we have.'
If we fight because of resource, it will be cursed but if we use it to grow, it is blessed! |

shervydman: I'm not very sure about that report.... almost all Africans know that Ethiopia was never colonized, most Africans don't even know that Liberia wasn't colonised, well; it's actually a de-facto of the US.
I'll contact my friends in calabar to check it up, anyway... I'll reply when I receive their response. Thank you so much Shervy, |
Nairaland General › Has Anyone Been To The Calabar Museum?? by ednited(op): 10:20am On Mar 11, 2018 |
I heard two reporters in Ethiopia talking about the Calabar museum in the radio, and it got me surprised. I don't know the number of museums you got there in Calabar but in one of it, they (the reporters) mentioned that the map of Africa is not correct in the museum, that it indicates Liberia is the only country not colonized in Africa. This is very shocking!! This is not a game or a simple mistake!! This is serious! If an African don't know his history, who else will. I am sorry to say this, but this is disrespecting. Even what is the Ethiopian embassy doing? A museum is not just an art place, a museum indicates the identity of a country! If this is true, SHAME!
Please, it is not just about Ethiopia or Burundi or whatever. . . We must take care for everyone else's identity or history. If there is anyone in Calabar, help me out with this museum. . .if it is true, av got to know |

lajut: An Ethiopian media owner and online activist who is known for his active use of Facebook have been blocked by the platform. It is not the first time Facebook is blocking Jawar Mohammed’s account on the basis of hyperactivity – “posting too fast,” as they chose to put it.
Jawar on Wednesday confirmed via his verified Twitter account that he had been “temporarily blocked,” on Facebook. “It looks like you were misusing this feature by going too fast. You’ve been blocked from using it,” he was informed.
The United-States based activist slammed Facebook over the block but announced a new page through which he planned to continue his work. This becomes the third time his account has been suspended for the same reason. He was blocked in mid-February for about a day than earlier this week for a brief period of time.
His blocked account was a personal page that had reached it's 5000 limits. he had a follower base of 1.3 million plus. His new page at the time of this publication had over 83,000 Followers. More on: https://dailynaija.com/post/top-ethiopian-activist-blocked-by-facebook-for-posting-too-fast I hate this guy, he spread bad news all the time. He is the one who posted the stolen national exam paper. He is crazy, thumbs up to Facebook |

Hati13: Do you fear that things will get worse after this? And who do you personally prefer for the new PM job? I hope for the best. You know the govt is not just the problem, if our people won't sit and think about what they are doing, the government leaving won't solve it all. Things could get better but the tribe thing is a huge prob. I would refer no PM from the current government. We need a transitional government |

LifeDrama: Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn announced Thursday he has submitted a resignation letter after the worst anti-government protests in a quarter-century, saying he hoped the surprise decision would help planned reforms succeed and create a "lasting peace."
"I want to be part of the solution," he said in remarks carried by the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation. "I believe that the public's demands and questions should be met and answered." It was not immediately clear whether lawmakers had accepted the resignation.
Ethiopia has been rocked by months of protests demanding wider freedoms that have left hundreds dead and tens of thousands detained. The government in recent weeks released more than 6,500 detained opposition figures, journalists and others after the prime minister in an unexpected announcement in January said he wanted to "widen the democratic space for all."
The protests have disrupted life and business in one of Africa's fastest-growing economies.
The 53-year-old prime minister said he will continue in his role until the "power transition is completed." He also seeks to unseat himself from the ruling Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front.

Y'all know how this continent is messed up and there is no one to save us. We are now modern slaves under the influence of the white leaders. Favour don't exist actually, because China built road in your country, that means they have something in return. Not a favour! Billion African citizens exist but the decision is by 5 people (government officials). Africa don't have many factories that led to air pollution but Africa is the first to be harmed. And there is nothing we can do about it now. All the good stuffs go to Europe and we receive trush. Yes, TRUSH! And we have government who only care for their power so they don't care about any of these. They destroy a country unity in order to stay on power, so people couldn't unite and build a powerful country. This is crazy. African union only work for the leaders. . . .( like for 54 members). While billions are out there with mouth shut. Some times I wonder if they are debating on who is going to stay longer in power. (In there) lol |

Nairaland General › Is Christmas Tree Necessary For Christmas In Africa?? by ednited(op): 7:19am On Jan 01, 2018 |
When our ancestors do things, they have reasons. I dare to say that they were very reasonable, but these days, we just do things cuz we feel like it. Christmas tree in the states is used for their own reason but could any one here give me a reason why we use it here in Africa? MEANING LESS!
If it indicates where Jesus was born. . .that's fair. . .but who knows the reason behind? Why do we have the Santa hat?? Is there an African Santa Claus?? Am so lost, generation after generation . . .we teach the kids about Santa and blame them for falling in love with foreign culture. Shockingly, just found out that Addis Ababa spent 5 million ETB with in 5 years for Christmas trees. (From USA). Every one say this ain't right, but they keep on doing it. Now everyone feels like it is Christmas only when they see the tree or Santa. We must develop our culture from now and we must feel like it's Christmas in the African way.
Good day |

Elbizzcklinz: What's your rate on this three logos and which would you select for final choice. They are all nice, but I wanna know why the same word is written all over. . . . I would choose the 2nd one, Because it helps me focus on the name and it's more eye catching The first one is unique, but if would have been nice with a big font and if the 'just frankng' was removed |
