2% you said? And the entire country's health sector gets about 3 to 5% of the national budget. So the national assembly is competing with our health sector. How did we get here? 1 Like 1 Share |

How does Afghan politics benefits or affect Nigerian Muslims and Christians? I laught anytime I see comments like this. When the Americans sidelined the taliban about 20years ago, did it change the price of garri in Nigeria? Why is the reverse be any different? The taliban will never have gotten to the president without the support of majority of the populace. Let's die this issue and move on. |

Are those the 'BIR' I am seeing in the attached image? How is it we have the 'BIR' that far into our territory? Is it a wrong image or something? For those not familiar, BIR stands for bataillon d'intervention rapide. A very notorious group in neighbouring Cameroon. |

Health / Re: Court Stops Lagos Public Hospitals From Demanding Blood Donations For Childbirth by Eeser: 6:46am On Mar 04, 2020 |
noblealuu:You are right. However, there is usually little or no blood in the blood bank due to the excessive demand for blood donations from these hospitals. I can't talk for any particular hospital but the one I know. What if you relative delivers, had post partum haemorrhage and require blood transfusion for which the bank has non at that time? It will take nothing less than 2 hours to get donors, screen them, bleed them, compatibility testing before the blood gets to your patient. And that of course is mortality waiting to happen. The 7k is for the screening and other tests done. If they give you back you blood, what will you do with it? Now this brings me to the next point you raised and which I think it's where SERAP should have focused. Why will the next patient still pay 7k in some facilities for the same blood when the compatibility is all that is needed to be done? Since someone has already been screened and has donated. The court should not throw away the baby with the bathing water. This has been a very life saving process. It need thorough review not to be totally stopped. SERAP should better be ready to get immediate donors for those PPH mothers or their death is on them. This judgement was an erratum in totality. 2 Likes |

Education / Re: Francis Otunta Accused Of impregnating Girlfriend & Graduating Her In 3rd Year by Eeser: 7:50am On Jan 28, 2020 |
Hmmmm. Weighty allegation. This need to be investigated to the fullest. That will of course mean the VC stepping down even for a while. However, this is something that can easily be substantiated. If this really happen, all that is needed is for the University to produce the academic transcript of the student in question. If it's still not enough, the exams answer script can be dug up at the departmental level. I know the VC will not respond to all these. Cause that will mean admitting to the fact that he actually had something to do with the lady in question. Which itself is a crime. But what do I know? Maybe the petitioner also wanted the lady at that time. Maybe he is just a good Nigerian. Maybe he just feels he need to clear his conscience. Maybe the VC denied him something and this is blackmail. So many maybes... Bottom line is keep your closet clean. So you don't give your enemies something to hang you with tomorrow. |

saaron: This is a classical beer parlour gist. Are you currently working as a bar man? As for whatever agenda you are talking, I see a trend in your choice of governors mentioned. Please don't forget to add Abdullah Sule of Nasarawa and Hope Uzodinma of Imo to your list of those working for the Fulanis to establish your imaginary agenda. In fact add all the APC governors join. You must not type all the time. Otherwise you will end up displaying your ignorance to the public eye. Get your head out of the sand man and move to the reality. This type of propaganda only works on fanatics. Cause let's face it, most fanatics interpret everything as an agenda. What do I know? Maybe you are deliberately a mischievous person. Shalom. |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Militants On Motorbikes Kill 20 Malian Soldiers by Eeser: 8:21am On Jan 27, 2020 |
RealLordZeus:Sorry to say this but you are not totally correct. Al Qaeda has been operating in that region for donkey years before the advent of BH. The Tuaregs started an insurrection that got hijacked by Al Qaeda. Isis found away to hijack the group from AL Qaeda as they have done elsewhere in the levante. We may say that Al Qaeda in the Sahel and the magreb inspired the earlier BH members here. Now that ISIS control both groups, we may say they are cooperating to destabilize the region. So, the crisis in the Sahel didn't start in Nigeria. We all know Nigeria is in a very bad shape right now and we all want to say something. But it will be super helpful if we stick to facts and leave rumours for the bar man. 4 Likes 1 Share |
Health / Re: Dark Patches On My Skin. Dermatologists, Please Help. by Eeser: 8:02am On Jan 19, 2020 |
Our attitude to just throw anything at a problem without really understanding the cause can be really nauseating. See them: KRDCROWN: Longman180: ekwerendi: Lloydokeke: Sorry to break it to you dearies but some of the differential diagnosis for dark patches could be fatal. Especially when it could be a melanoma. So don't just go throwing things at patches without knowing what they really are. Because it worked for Nnamdi doesn't mean it will work for Femi or Zuwaira. As for you OP, I can't really say what you have but if you have had a few as a child and now it's increasing. Then we can consider neurofibromatosis (cafe-au-lait patches ). It is least likely to be a Mongolian spot (birthmark) because you will have had the same spot since childhood. See another dermatologist for second opinion and discard advices like the ones quoted. If after all investigations it is found to be nothing, your dermatologist may want to consider laser therapy as a last resort. That is if you really want the spot out. You may want to consider of course trying this sort of therapy on a little spot and see the outcome. Please see a dermatologist again OP. 1 Like |
