Dapo777: Ok for ur information, I have gone to mfm prayer city along Ibadan Lagos express way,for 3 days prayer and fasting with my family last year,a prophet assigned for us told my eldest sister that she was going to get married to a man with gap in his front teeth(as a sign) before the end of the year,till now,she is not yet married.
Explain that!!!!! angry
My bro I don't know who prophesied to your sister and I don't know why you were at MFM to fast and pray but I know this:

Prophecies are revelations based on the broad dictates and principles of God as enshrined in the Word.
Hence there are three possibilities:

1. The prophet may be false (This is the case of 400 lying prophets in I kings 22: 1-40)
2. The prophet prophesied from God but your sister derailed off the principles of God in thoughts and deeds (This is the case of the children of Israel who were promised entry into the promise land by prophecy but yet perished in the wilderness Deuteronomy 2:14)
3. The prophet prophesied from God but unopposed demons with a legal ground snatched the fulfillment of the prophecy (Daniel prayed and got an immediate response but the dark principality of Persia withheld the results of his prayer Daniel 10:10-21)

...but must such delay make you reject God. The kingdom of God is the most important thing you must seek (Matthew 6:33). God's kingdom is not a place but a lifestyle led, directed and controlled by the HolyGhost...Seek the indwelling of the HolyGhost and enjoy life as a son and not a stranger (Romans 8: 14 and Romans 14:17)

jackpot: If you use calculator and take numbers closer to zero, you'll get numbers tending to infinity.

@doubleDx, efficiencie
try it and comment on what you see.

Maybe it has to do with how the calculator is programmed.
I tried it and f(x)→-9 as x→0 from the left and right but at x=0, f(0)→∞ where f(x)=(3x-tan3x)/x^3

I don't have to check! The function
f(x) = (3x-tan3x)/x^3
records a 'jump discontinuity at x=0 because the left and right limits defined as:

Limf(x) as x→+0 and Limf(x) as x→-0 both converge to -9 but f(0)→∞ and it's expected that in the neighbourhood of 0, f(0)→0

Dapo777: Do u really think they haven't done all that u ascribed above?

I saw a post on this thread where an atheist said he did all that for 20 Yrs without any answer/reply from God.
What about that?
yes yu cld av such an example...but there are also countless examples of persons who did it and got life changing results...My brother the question that should be asked is: Do you really want to find God.

Moses met God and asked for a sign and got one but the pharisees and saducess asked and got a rebuke! Many who say they are athiests have experienced the power of God and assumed it away as a random event such should not expect to find God no matter how long they tarry...some others who were not so privileged but yet believed God via his often ignored acts of God.

In my case, i haven't seen God and i don't need to. Everytime i look at my past and imagine the manner in which the events of my past are ordered strangely as though an invisible hand was directing me all along I come to the conclusion that he exists...and via revelational knowledge I came to know that that God is Jesus the Christ.

Great events takes place in the church nowadays that provide evidence that God exists and that Jesus is Lord! At least if you won't trust in the mere words of a theologian, pastor or teacher, trust in the signs and wonders that are recorded daily in the church. Go to a church and see for yourselves, make your investigations and arrive at your conclusion based on church empirics - churches like: RCCG, MFM, SCOAN, DLBC, FAITH TABERNACLE...to mention but a few.

...but if yet you won't believe, well enjoy and continue in your ways. The end would justify our stance.

Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Reiyvinn: In summary, the questions are:

QUESTION 1: Why then does Satan, Sin, Hell, Destruction, e.t.c exist? People say it was satan but God created Satan, didn't he?

QUESTION 2
Which of these: Christians, Muslims, Polytheists, Hindus (ignoring the numerous denominations under them) has the right God(s) and religion or way of life?
I do not claim to have immutable answers but I'll state God's words and let his inspiration do the rest.

On QUESTION 1

Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Whoever is fit to be called 'God' must be all knowing and boundless in space and time.

What are the implications of this given the axiom that he created entities with the ability to CHOOSE?

# Postulate 1
If we accept that God made free moral agents, then he (God) must have meant that they (free moral agents) would choose their destiny. Else he (God) would have made robots and not free moral agents.

# Postulate 2
God must as a matter of necessity know the population of likely choices that free moral agents can make but as a righteous impartial judge he can only meddle with the choices of men at the permission of men. Man must choose to let God meddle else God has no right to! Yes, he doesn't.

# Postulate 3
God could not have created satan, satan re-created himself by his choices. Lucifer as a free moral agent chose his destiny and by so doing got 'born again' with a new baptismal name: 'satan'. This follows from postulates 1 and 2!

These three postulates absolves God of any responsibility for man's woes!

On QUESTION 2

There are no such things as MANY TRUTHS, there can only be ONE! Hence if all the religions of the world are simply different versions of the truth then they must be ESSENTIALLY EQUIVALENT but this is not as they differ at the VERY CORE!

Hence the questions, which of them is true and why the multiplicity!?

On the TRUTH

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

All religions with the exception of a few agree that whoever God is, he must be a 'Spirit'. It becomes futile applying the scientific method in finding God rather spiritual means must be adopted.

I'm not a spiritual sage yet but i know four things that will get you to discover the truth about God!

# ONE
Seperate yourself from the affairs of the world. Isolate yourself from friends, family, entertainment and pleasure.

Proverbs 18:1 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

# TWO
Challenge God with your question:

'Who are you LORD GOD, identify your self?'

If God exists, he'll hear you and if God is not a coward he'll respond to your challenge.

Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

# THREE
Wait patiently for an answer.

You are a mere human and God (if he exists) is the Father of all spirits so don't be in a haste to get frustrated. wait.

Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

# FOUR
Challenge whatever revelation comes (if at all it comes) until God proves himself beyond all reasonable doubt

Exodus 20:20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

On the MULTIPLICITY of SUBSTITUTES to the TRUTH

Who gains from the present multiplicity of religions, if there can only be one truth? Whoever it is, it must be someone who seeks to derail many from the truth and who can this person be?

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Well whoever this entity is it must be the arch enemy of God seeking to distort the truth and make many ask, just as you have asked: 'who really is God?'

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

In summary brother, seek the one truth and you'll find it just as many HONEST ATHIESTS did and found God and went on to become MIGHTY MEN of RENOWN!
Christianity Etc › Re: "Should I Be Disappointed In God,when It Looks As Tho He Doesn't Answer Prayers" by efficiencie(m): 4:42am On Jul 06, 2014
Gombs: Question – Joyce (Australia): My sister was
diagnosed with a hole in her heart. Both she
and I prayed, and believed God for a miracle and
we did everything we knew to do, but she died.
I’m so disappointed with God. My faith is totally
shaken, and I’m at my lowest point since she
passed on. I’m not able to pray any more. Why
did God not answer our prayers?
The arguments that ensue out of issues such as the aformentioned are usually great and that's because this issue is an everyday one, with death and disaster everywhere. While i'd love to posit my position,I would not claim to provide a immutable answer to Joyce's question.

My answer is summed in three verses of scripture.

The Holy Ghost states in:
Job 34:12 Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.

This was young Elihu's response to Job, who lamented as Joyce did and asked as Joyce did, 'why did I suffer all these and God sat up there and never came to my aid even when i'm such a righteous man'. Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar all gave wisdom but couldn't provide an answer to Job. Elihu however though young spoke by God's inspiration and made us understand that God can never do wrong, he won't break his rules, he won't be unjust and won't be evil. His thoughts towards us are of peace and not evil to give us an expected end.

# point 1
God is always just,it is man that is either ignorant or unjust.

The Holy Ghost states again:
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Job had no revelation concerning the cause and purpose of his suffering and neither did his three old and experienced friends and that's why they all perverted wisdom. If Job had known that his suffering was as a result of God's veneration of him, he'd gladly lose all including his life just to defend his love for God. Joyce has no revelational knowledge concerning her sister's death and that's why she charges God so. If she has, she'd apologize, be sober and be deeper in the things of God.

#point 2
Make no decisions, say no words and entertain no thoughts until you've sought God's revelation when the darkness of adversity looms.

The Holy Ghost states further:
2Corinthians 8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

Sister Joyce, this world is the University of Adversity for all of God's children. Trials, temptations, afflictions and sufferings all point the way to God oftentimes.

The church of Smyrna was poor but yet they got a pass mark from Jesus who further admonished them to endure tribulations ten days and be faithful till the death and on the other side of the divide was the church of Laodicea so rich but failed by Jesus' standards.

# point 3
The way to peace is in tribulation and the way to joy is in affliction. It is for this purpose that 'ENDURANCE' is a fruit of the spirit.

Beloved Joyce and anyone in her shoes, don't fall for satan's trick. He did it with Job and he's doing it to all mankind. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. With his truth you'll know the way, with his life, you'll be able to walk the way till you get to the fullness of perfection.

In summary, I admonish that: God is always just so don't lose faith, seek the truth from God alone and walk in the light of it and be prepared to endure the hardship of this 'crazy' world.

I know of three pillars you must not lose: FAITH, HOPE and LOVE! Stand on them always. Even till the death and you'd beat satan in a flawless victory.

Let 'Lim' denote d limiting value as x tends to zero.

Lim{(3x-tan3x)/(x^3)}
On applyn l'hopitals, since the functn results in (0/0)
= Lim{(3-3.Sec^2(3x))/(3x^2)}
On applyn l'hopitals again, since the functn results in (0/0)
= Lim{(-18.Sec^2(3x)tan(3x))/(6x)}
(I luv dis!) On applyn l'hopitals again, since the functn results in (0/0)
= Lim{-9.sec^4(3x) - 18.Sec^2(3x)tan^2(3x)) }
= Lim{-9.sec^4(3x)} - Lim{18.Sec^2(3x)tan^2(3x)) }
= -9 - 18.(1).(0)

i guess ur encouragement paid off, i'v been trying sir chides' questn bt d soln az been eluding me...bt dis tym, i gues i nailed it

∫(1/(cosk + cosx))dx

Let cosk=1/a

= a∫(1/(1 + acosx))dx

= a∫(1/(cos^2(x/2) + sin^2(x/2) + acos^2(x/2) - asin^2(x/2) ))dx

= a∫(1/(cos^2(x/2) + acos^2(x/2) + sin^2(x/2) - asin^2(x/2)))dx

= a∫(1/((1+a)cos^2(x/2) + (1-a)sin^2(x/2)))dx

= a∫sec^2(x/2)dx/((1+a) + (1-a)tan^2(x/2)))

= (a/(1+a))∫sec^2(x/2)dx/(1 + {√[(1-a)/(1+a)].tan(x/2)}^2)

Let tan(u/2)=√[(1-a)/(1+a)].tan(x/2)

(1/2)sec^2(u/2)du=(1/2)√[(1-a)/(1+a)].sec^2(x/2)dx

√[(1+a)/(1-a)].sec^2(u/2)du= sec^2(x/2)dx

hence
(a/(1+a)) ∫sec^2(x/2)dx/(1 + {√[(1-a)/(1+a)].tan(x/2)}^2)

Becomes
= (a/(1+a)) ∫√[(1+a)/(1-a)].sec^2(u/2)du /(1 + tan^2(u/2))

= (a/(1+a)). √[(1+a)/(1-a)]∫du

= (a/(1+a)) .√[(1+a)/(1-a)]u

= {2a/√[(1+a).(1-a)]}. arctan{√[(1-a)/(1+a)]tan(x/2)}
Where 1/a=cosk

jackpot: now, from your bolded comment, if Limx ->0e^x = Limx->0cos x = 1, so can we say e^x= cos x?
fasodecapo: I don't think so, since we can't say cos x is a function of e^x.
cosx is clearly not a function of e^x, directly, but both are functions of 'x' and if both converge to unity as x tends to zero then in the limit they are equal such that cosx=e^x as x tends to zero.

hence if i say let y=e^x
then Limy=Lime^x as x tends to zero and if Lime^x=1 as x tends to zero then Limy=1 as x tends to zero and in other terms it could be stated that: e^x=1 as x tends to zero or y=1 as x tends to zero.

however with regards to my solution i guess i can make it clearer by adding these lines of reasoning:

Limlny=-Limsinx as x tends to zero

Limlny=0 as x tends to zero

lnLimy=0 as x tends to zero

Limy=e^0 as x tends to zero

Limy=1 as x tends to zero

and since y=(sinx)^(sinx)

then Lim[(sinx)^(sinx)]=1

jackpot: now, from your bolded comment, if Limx ->0e^x = Limx->0cos x = 1, so can we say e^x= cos x?
yes e^x=cosx as x tends to zero. the equality will hold only as x tends to zero. this can also be seen graphically ma'am! both graphs would intersect at point x=0 indicating that the right and left limits would converge to unity for both functions as x tends to zero.

jackpot: I am having problems with the bolded. How can you equate "limit" both sides and cancel out?

Next, that LimIny is as y tends to what?
if B=A(x) then the limiting value of A(x) as x tends to x(0) would also be the limiting value of B as x tends to x(0). Mathematically, limB=limA(x)=l as x→x(0) and hence B=A(x)=l in the limit. So i didn't cancel out the Lim's so to say, it simply follows from the definition of limits!

for limlny=-limsinx as x→0 the limiting variable is x and not y, since y is a function of x such that:
y=(sinx)^(sinx)

Lim (sinx)^(sinx) as x→0
Let y=(sinx)^(sinx)
lny=sinx.lnsinx
lny=lnsinx/cosecx
Which results in -∞/∞ as x→0
Limlny=lim(lnsinx/cosecx)
Limlny=lim((dlnsinx/dx)/(dcosecx/dx))
Limlny=lim(cotx/-cosecxcotx)
Limlny=-lim(1/cosecx)
Limlny=-lim(sinx)
lny=0 as x→0
y=1

benbuks: let 's try this welcome back question

compute the anti-derivative of [arcsin(lnx) ] dx
Given
I=∫(arcsin(lnx))dx
Let u=arcsinlnx
sinu=lnx
cosu.du=dx/x
dx=e^sinu.cosu du
I=∫(u. e^sinu.cosu) du
I=u. e^sinu – ∫(e^sinu) du
For values of sinu defined as: -1<sinu<1, I can apply the taylor’s rule such that:
I=u. e^sinu – ∫(1+sinu+(1/2!)sin^2(u)+(1/3!)sin^3(u)+(1/4!)sin^4(u)+…) du
Since for higher powers n of sin^n(u) the integral peters out I stop, albeit arbitrarily at n=4
Hence
I≈u. e^sinu – ∫(1+sinu+(1/2!)sin^2(u)+(1/3!)sin^3(u)+(1/4!)sin^4(u)) du
I≈u. e^sinu – ∫(1+sinu+(1/2!)( (1/2) – (1/2)cos2u)+(1/3!)( (3/4)sinu – (1/4)sin3u)+(1/4!)( (3/8 ) – (1/2)cos2u + (1/8 )cos4u)) du
I≈u. e^sinu – ∫(1+sinu+( (1/4) – (1/4)cos2u)+( (1/12)sinu – (1/24)sin3u)+( (1/64) – (1/48 )cos2u + (1/192)cos4u)) du
I≈u. e^sinu – [u – cosu + (u/4) – (1/8 )sin2u – (1/12)cosu + (1/72)cos3u + (u/64) – (1/96)sin2u + (1/768 )sin4u]
I≈u. e^sinu – u + cosu – (u/4) + (1/8 )sin2u + (1/12)cosu – (1/72)cos3u – (u/64) + (1/96)sin2u – (1/768 )sin4u
I ≈ -81/64 + u. e^sinu + (13/12)cosu + (13/96)sin2u – (1/72)cos3u – (1/768 )sin4u
Put the value of u
I ≈ -81/64 + x.arcsinlnx + (13/12)√(1-(lnx)^2) + (13/48)lnx√(1-(lnx)^2) – (1/36)(1-(lnx)^2)) √(1-(lnx)^2) – (1/72)√(1-(lnx)^2) – (1/768 )sin[4(arcsinlnx)]
I left the last term unexpanded…this question sef!
