Those immigration guys @ d airports are filthy scumbags. They are so shameless. Each time I go through there I feel like screaming out my lungs. I personally make sure they get nothing from me. I wish others could do same. Nigeria is really deep in corruption.

Take a trip to nearby Benin City which has no Shell or Chevron and see what Oshiomhole has done there with his relatively meagre allocation within the same period. Not to mention what Amaechi is doing in PH. That is enough proof that Delta has become a victim of political ra.pe. Any governor with half a brain and a grain of concern should know better than to allow Warri deteriorate to its current state. Its a big shame on the governor and his team.

True dat. Out of all the ministers we've had since Obj, he has impressed me the most. He has demonstrated that he knows the right thing to do and he has the ability and will power to implement it. His type is very rare. Fashola is another person who has demonstrated similar traits.

@Jarus, that may not be unconnected to the fact that he has stepped on so many toes. A lot of people dislike him because of the losses they incurred when he was FCT minister. The same people can do everything to pull him as a way of "payback". Anyway, let's see how the case ends b4 I can throw my weight behind him.

Now this is my acid test for El-Rufai. I'm watching him closely and would like to see how this pans out. This will help me clarify the few "grey areas" about him. If he is clean, I have got myself a preferred presidential candidate for 2015. If he's dirty, I guess I'll have to keep searching.

Information reaching me has it that Shell has just fixed the failed portions close to its offices. What effort has the state government made so far?

Anyway, looking back at this article, you will see that the solutions to all our problems as a nation lie within. Take coal for example, that can provide a "quick fix" for our woes in the power sector. It all seems like a giant puzzle. All we need is to piece these things together and our economy will boom.

For the "what they do" part, what is your take on his performance as FCT minister?

If I am to go by his performance as FCT minister, I will place him ahead of Fashola and Ribadu as an opposition presidential candidate and he will likely get my support especially if PDP fields people like Atiku, IBB, Mark or Sambo. His current writings have even drawn me closer to him. If all these writings emanate from his desire to run for presidency, it is working.

Another nice piece from El-Rufai. He obviously has a firm grasp of the issues and seems to know what to do about them.

@ Franko, Warri is to Delta as Lagos is to Nigeria. We know there are lots of other places in Delta but if Warri is neglected, Delta is also neglected. It is that important.

It has become very easy for political assassinations to be carried out in "boko haram fashion" and render all investigations useless by heaping the blame on boko haram. Any evil that goes on in the north today is boko haram. From robberies to assassinations. Even if a man slaps his wife, it is boko haram. A rat eats the family dinner, it is boko haram. No investigation needs to be done anymore. SMH.

If Warri were to be treated fairly, it would have easily become one of the best cities in Nigeria. It is currently one of the worst. They used to say "Warri no dey carry last" but in this case, Warri is dangerously wallowing in the last position due to the neglect it is suffering. This reminds me of Lucky's 8 year misrule in Edo state. Delta urgently needs an Oshiomhole to liberate it from the shackles of retrogession. Warri people what are u doing about this?

I was in Warri a few days ago and I was dismayed at what I witnessed. I could not find a single reasonable project being executed by the State government. Worse still, all the roads that were constructed in time past have become every driver's nightmare. Name the road; is it Airport road? That one has huge potholes well positioned at strategic points. Or are we talking about Refinery road that has become a permanent construction site with every wrong feature you can think of existing on it. What about Okere - Ugborikoko, NNPC complex road, etc? Those who live in Warri can testify. The sheer size of the potholes makes one wonder if there is any form of government there because one would expect at least a temporary measure to be put in place if the rains will not allow for asphalt works.
What makes the issue even more mind buggling is the fact that Delta is home to some of the largest companies/ revenue generators in Nigeria. Name it; Shell, Chevron, Total, etc. These companies remit billions to the state in taxes. Ughelli and other oil producing areas are dotted with oil & gas wells and facilities of all sorts. This is not to mention the multitude of companies that service these giants. Billions of naira make their way though Delta's water, air and land spaces daily yet there is nothing to show for it in terms of basic infrastructure.

Ironically, a few meters to the NNPC quarters or the roundabout to the Shell gate, or even directly in front of NNPC staff club at Bendel Estate, there exist some of the most terrible potholes imaginable.

As I sat down to enjoy a bowl of pepper soup with a few friends on the evening of my arrival, I was drenched with tales of kidnaps, assassinations and daylight robberies happening daily in Warri. What began as a cool evening quickly turned into a sour night. There was every reason for me to conclude: There's neither a governor in Delta State nor any form of government in Warri!

Dora is one of the few nigerian leaders that has got the right "balls". She only needs to find herself in the right place. She is a round peg and a round hole will fit her perfectly. I will keep watching out for her cos I believe she still has a lot to offer.
