I was in Benin last week and what I witnessed is impressive. Anybody that is sincere cannot say Adams has not transformed Benin City. From roads to drainages to traffic lights to grassed medians to street lighting to road markings. Wow!!! The man has done a good job. If you had been to Benin City during Lucky's or Osunbor's tenure you will see the difference is like day and night. The difference is clear. If you really want to know, take a trip to Benin and see for yourself. Sincerely, he deserves the commendation.

Niger Delta has always been blessed on the surface and sub-surface. The Niger Delta before now and till today is rich in aquatic life, lush vegetation (green all year round), timber, rubber, oil palm, fruits, etc. Most of the people in the Niger Delta were self sustained and did not rely on others for survival. They were neither nomadic nor parasitic and have always been hardworking. Do some research, the SW, Mid-West and SE have this in common. The south only traded with the north and did not rely on them for nada. The north on the other hand has always been parasitic as they are either in search of pasture or oil or something. OP, u should be happy the south is still sharing its resources with you.

Someone once asked "Can Lagos be a country on its own?" And something like this was the answer I gave "all the large companies will relocate and follow the oil". This is just a tip of the iceberg compared to what will happen if that scenario were to play out.

On the other hand, I think it is better for Lagos "as a state" and Nigeria "as a nation" if more companies relocate from Lagos into other regions. This will help reduce the pressure on Lagos and improve the economy in other areas. I expect more of this in coming years.

That statement "their region is bereft of innovative and workaholic minds" is completely wrong. You need to do some research and see how the SS is seriously building human capital today. The challenge for SS is the fact that the people are not homogeneous compared to the SW or even SE.

Don't underestimate the power of oil and gas. Also note that the SS in recent years has been developing human capacity like never before. I however agree that the SW and SE will also experience tremendous growth.

Unity and homogeneity is a key recipe for growth.
If the entire South can work together, it's even better. It's a pity we are talking of division but it's obvious Sharia and secularism cannot possibly exist within the same boundaries without bloodshed. It's either the north gives up sharia or the country will (inevitably) plunge into destruction.

SW will be most peaceful, SE will grow very fast, SS will be the richest, NC will be a battle front and core north will keep retrogressing! Sorry but that's d hard fact.

On a side note, you seem to be of the opinion that the next President must come from PDP.  Don't you think that strengthening the opposition will be good for our democracy?  We are not yet a country with political parties that are based on ideology.  With the exception of ANPP and its overt support for Sharia Law, most Nigerians just want to vote for a leader who will work towards providing us with the basic things of life.  I think that it is imperative that we have a credible and strong alternative to the ruling party that can put up a formidable national push for political power on the Federal level and state level across the country.  Having such an alternative will be an incentive for our leaders to give us nothing but their best.  I rest my case.  It was nice arguing with you bro.

@Bolded, I agree with you. I think we need a stronger and more focused opposition in 2015. If the opposition can get its act together and possibly take over the presidency in 2015, Nigeria will benefit a lot more cos things will be done differently. Lots of things that may have been hidden will be brought to fore and the system will be improved. There will be a renewed passion for good governance and PDP will provide good challenge as an opposition.  PDP has taken us thus far, I think Nigeria is matured enough to move on now. The only condition is that the opposition has to get its house in order (recall the ACN + CPC failed rush hour deal. How can one entrust the entire nation to such an unstable, rickety, premature contraption?). An opposition with the likes of Fashola, Donald Duke, Pat Utomi, El Rufai, Sanusi, etc all in one team and working with singleness of purpose will be great.

It is very obvious Fashola is the man anyday, anytime. The only thing that can stop him from getting there is TRIBALISM! The other guys will say it has not reached the yoruba's "turn" and will fight to stop him. I wish all educated / well meaning Nigerians from North, South, East and West can stand firm for him. It would be a war of Merit vs tribalism. Sadly, even the educated Nigerians can lose their senses to tribalism.

I guess it's because Tinubu is not holding but CONTROLLING lots of political and economic "offices" as we speak.

That email could be a prank by some students to cause unnecessary panic. My guess is if the email is traced, it would be found that it was sent from a cybercafe in Benin City.

The reason for the prank may be either plain mischief or to stir up more hatred and bloodbath in the south.
