PoliticsRe: Presidential Election: States By State Analysis by efisher(m): 9:40pm On Apr 15, 2011
In general, I think the analysis is a bit too optimistic for GEJ in the North and pessimistic in the SW. Anyway, that could be because of the results of the last election. I expect PDP to get over 50% in the SW because many things have changed in the last few days. In Lagos, GEJ may hit up to 65%. I will also prefer to estimate up to 80% for Buhari in Katsina and other CPC strongholds (to stretch possibilities a bit). In general, it is certain that GEJ will carry the day in the first ballot. [He may as well have a "close shave" just to emphasize the "goodluck" factor. grin ]

As for Buhari, I do not think he will be able to get 25% in up to half of the states. I do not see him getting reasonable figures from any of the southern states.

Sai GEJ. cool

Sai GEJ. More feathers added to your cap. Tomorrow's election will be far better and more credible.

And what greater sign can there be than the way he was traded like a bag of garri between CPC and ACN in their miserable attempted alliance.

Buhari has done it before and he will do it again. He promulgrated Decree 4 that killed freedom of speech while Jonathan ensured the passage of FOI bill.
^ My brother, you have just triggered a wonderful chain of thoughts with this post.

1. Buhari promulgated Decree 4 that killed freedom of speech while Jonathan supported the passage of FOI bill
2. Buhari terminated rail projects while Jonathan is supporting rail projects.
3. Buhari terminated democracy while Jonathan is promoting democracy by supporting free and fair elections.
4. Buhari witnessed economic downturn while Jonathan is witnessing economic boom.

This election is between Bad Belle and Goodluck.  cool

Everybody wants goodluck o, Nobody wants bad luck o. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan carry go!!!

PoliticsRe: I Pray We All Have Goodluck Tomorow by efisher(m): 7:45pm On Apr 15, 2011
Ileke-IdI, laying aside all the pro BB or pro GEJ stuff for one minute, is it not clear that GEJ has the upper hand in this election without rigging?

Even Buhari knows this and has given up. The failed alliance with ACN was the final blow to the opposition. To make matters worse, some of Buhari's main supporters in Sokoto and in many of his other strongholds defected to PDP at the last minute. Even Ribadu has given up as a result of the same failed alliance.

Let us pray for a credible election tomorrow so that we can raise our heads up high and be proud of our nation. Anybody that goes out there to rig is on his own. I believe INEC will be more effective tomorrow.

I urge Nigerians to shun violence during the elections tomorrow and at all times. You cannot gain any lasting advantage via violence. Look at my life, I have NEVER been involved in violence in my life, yet God and the good people of Nigeria have been kind to me. Love of God and your fellow man will get you much farther than violence will get you. GEJ

PoliticsRe: Official Final Campaign Thread For Goodluck And Sambo by efisher(m): 6:25pm On Apr 15, 2011
Hello good Nigerians,

Tomorrow is the D-Day. I encourage you to mobilize everybody around you with a voter's card to come out and vote en mass for Goodluck/Sambo of PDP. Also go to the polling booths with cameras, phones, etc to help cover the process. It's goin to be victory for Nigeria. Let us all stand for democracy and for Nigeria.

If you have a voters card, please make sure you vote. GEJ needs our votes to empower him. Remember that every vote counts.

After the election, we will POP SOMETHING officially on nairaland.

GOODLUCK NIGERIANS!!!

PapaBrowne:
BIG QUESTION:

Why is this only possible in Buhari's Northhuh

Aren't these under age voters the reason why the north west recorded 19.8 million votershuh Without the 19.8 million voters would Buhari stand the slimmest chance of winning the electionshuh Ask yourself this question, why don't you see these kinds of underage voters in the South or Middle belthuh
To the best of my knowledge, the CPC is more responsible for these underage voters than any other party since this pattern has been noticed only in areas  CPC stronghold!!
Most Buhari supporters are hoping on these under age voters for victory come saturday!!
That's a strong point you have made here. Many under-aged voters have been registered in these areas and that has a natural effect on the balance of voting population. That alone has given some areas greater deciding power than the others. We still have a long way to go but we will get there.
PoliticsRe: Will Tomorrow's Election Be Won Through Rigging Or In-spite Of Rigging? by efisher(m): 5:26pm On Apr 15, 2011
GEJ will win in spite of rigging.

These are certain.
1. GEJ will win in the first ballot.
2. There will be irregularities in some areas.
3. GEJ's valid/legitimate votes will be higher than every other candidate's valid/legitimate votes.

I pray we have a better election tomorrow without violence and widespread irregularities. Anybody who decides to rig is on his own.
PoliticsRe: Messiah On The Way: Baba Fashola by efisher(m): 4:46pm On Apr 15, 2011
I will be glad to have him as my president but I know 2015 is not feasible. The best he can get is VP. This is because Nigerian politics is so much hinged on ethnicity and religion. Anyway, All Hail Fashola.

We have huge problems to contend with. North, East, West and South. We will definitely not get it 100% right because it is a problem that is linked to every other problem. Lack of Education, infrastructure, etc. These are problems we have accumulated over time. It doesn't make any sense to heap the blames on any particular individual(s). The current government has clearly done a lot to tackle this problem to some extent. INEC is fully aware of these issues and has also tried in some way to control and mitigate. We stil have a long way to go.

We can play our own part by doing more of this "evidence capturing". I recommend that these pictures and videos be used as evidence for the legal processes that will follow. All hands should be on deck to capture more of such evidence. That is the best we can do for now. I am confident that the woman in that video will pay dearly for her actions. There is no way it will not get the international community's attention thanks to the likes of twitter, You tube etc.

Anybody who values freedom of speech and expression, such as the one you enjoy on nairaland, will NOT support Buhari. Buhari has always been a human rights violator and an enemy of the press. Seun is only fighting for us nairalanders. Allow him do his bit.
