Chigold101: Did I say anything about it being okay to yell at your partner? My point is, raising my voice at my husband should not give him the right to slap me. Pls don't misinterpret me. 2 Likes |

ROSSIKE: Why would I want to pay someone to mix garri for me when I can buy a sack and drink it anytime in my house at a significantly lower cost. The most I can do is buy their meat/moi-moi. Drinking garri in a restaurant and in your house can never be the same. Even if na d same garri from my house dem carry go restaurant, ko le dabi. |

Family / Re: Help!!my Wife Is Driving Me Crazy by Egbagirl(f): 6:33pm On Mar 12, 2015 |
Doesn't make any sense to me. The husband was well aware of all the things he complained about. He agreed when she said she wanted to do business. All of a sudden, he wants her to get a BA. He met her when she wasn't "trendy" but married her like that. Now, she is not good enough to be by his side. Don't go into a marriage thinking you'll change your spouse. What you see now is what you'll get after. It is possible for people to change etc but don't bank on it. 1 Like |

Those criticizing the OP are guilty of the same thing they accuse her of doing. The fact that you, as a doctor, are different from the "typical" Nigerian doctor described or have worked in a hospital different from what was described does not mean that every doctor/hospital in the 36 states across the country is the same as you/yours. You can only speak for yourself, your colleagues, and where you work/have worked. You can't speak on behalf of all doctors in Nigeria just because you all have an "oath" or went through the same system etc. That doesn't mean jack squat. Are all doctors supposed to abide by their code of ethics etc and practice according to the books? Yes. Do all of them do that? No. The reasons have already been listed in previous posts. I was talking to a friend who was a medical doctor in Nigeria about DJDOLA's case and he kept on yelling and disagreeing with me that it was impossible for the hospital to not diagnose the sickness for that long. He didn't know the details and I shared what I gathered from here with him but he vehemently refused like he was even there with the doctors in Nigeria. According to him, there is a certain code that all doctors have to abide by and all. We need to open our eyes and face reality not the ideal. Let us accept that the system is broken. It is still running but definitely not in the most efficient/effective way. Bushdoc has been quite fair in his comments though. He recognizes the shortcomings of the system. Btw, the OP's post might have come off as condescending etc but that should be the least of our worries right now. It is a generalization of the whole Nigerian health sector but it goes to show that something is wrong because what she has described is common in many places. Glean the important points from the post. 3 Likes |

It's called The International School, Ibadan (ISI). Ibadan International School (IIS) is different. |

Biko OP, add ISI to your list of schools. If you're going to add BIS/BIC, then you need to include ISI. 1 Like |

vjsmiles: Greed for money or hope for a better future? You might know better but not every does. Many of them are ignorant and too trusting unfortunately. If you are living in abject poverty and someone come to tell you that they can change your life etc, you might be too tempted to follow them unless you've heard of such scams before or know people that have fallen victim. Don't blame the girl or the girls. 1 Like |

I'm not even against giving out souvenirs at campaigns etc but can politicians start treating people like humans beings? What is all this throwing things from buses etc? What's that? and people start scrambling for items, some even die in the process. I'm pro-APC/Ambode/GMB btw and this is just an observation. |
