Just touched with the mandem and few chics.

Weather is alright, not too cold but the henny is making me feel warm.

I just hope these guys don't sheg the game like they did the last time they played Ireland here by allowing Robbie Keane to stunt on them.

Anyway, I'm wearing a leather biker's jacket, with the naija jersey underneath. Khaki colour chinos with jordan retro 4. About 6'3 tall.

Holla at me. Got a few plates of jellof from Island buka on me, if you want some. grin

It's all naija love. Felling super naij today.

Leggo Super Eagles of naija.

Holla at me.

FamilyRe: Children Calling Their Father By His Name by Egbagirl(f): 4:29pm On Nov 15, 2013
Jaggiey: Culturally wrong by Nigerian standard. However, personal dispositions may influence how it is handled. If the father in question sees nothing wrong and is not upset, we then cannot cry more than the bereaved. Naming calling may not necessary equate the children disrespecting their father. Infact, it could draw them closer. Perhaps, overtime the children may develop their values and stop calling their father by name. At an early stage, they may just repeat what they hear their mother call the man. Kids learn by observation. Personally in my view, it is odd to my system. May be I belong to the old skool...

My submission.
Fair enough and I agree that "to each his own". I do not would not advocate kids calling their parents by their first names. However, calling them "dad" and Mum" does not equate respect. They are your parents and they are not "dad'" and "mum" whether you like it or not so even if you don't call them that, it does not change who they are to you. That being said, I would rather my child called my by my name and accords me the due respect than call me mum and disrespect me.

Although, it would sound very weird if my child called me by my first name. In fact, it won't even happen. Igbaju ni mo ma fun ni straight. lol jk. Calling my bosses who are even older than my own father gan sef by their first name is even somehow for me but what can I do?
FamilyRe: Children Calling Their Father By His Name by Egbagirl(f): 4:15pm On Nov 15, 2013
koonbey: I believe there's nothing to it,It's all in their Relationship...their mutual Respect for each other. For instance; I was out one Evening, playing Video Games with Friends, one Friend's Mum called him and he picked and said"MumC,how far?"..."okay,i don dey come",then promptly drop what he's doing and head for Home, while others would say"Mummy...yes Ma,I'm on my Way" and sit down comfortably for another Hour or more, all the while telling their Mums when they call that "I'm on the Way".
I say "hey what's up", "hey, ma" (not ma as in "yes ma" ) to my mom. in fact, she even says "what's up to us sometimes. We are chill like that. One time my lil bro started calling my mom and dad by their first names, they didnt beat him up. They laughed but told him not to do that. They didn't slap him and say "how dare you" or anything.

NappilyNigerian: Yes you can but don't let the stylist braid too tight. My hair is fine stranded. To avoid breakage and hairline loss, I tell the stylist to braid a little way with my own hair before putting the extensions in.
right right. That makes sense. Thanks! I'll try it out soon. Thank you so much!

engineerd: Its very refreshing and pleasing to see someone finally promoting Natural hair.....The Op is so right in saying African hair needs different care from their Asian and Caucasian counterparts....reason we shouldn't be using their hair products and even skin products.

Nice one ladies......burn the fake Brazilian hair and rock your natural hair with pride!!!!
LOL. Uhm... in case you didnt know, there are many women with natural hair that wear Brazilian weaves.

NappilyNigerian: Hi there, pls send a mail to toyin@twentysix85.com . She'll be able to get you a good quality wig. Let her know what style of wig you like. Personally I prefer a human hair wig because you can change up the look, dye it or curl it. Don't forget to wear a wig cap before putting on the wig. You'll avoid breakage doing that.

Is your hair relaxed or natural?
My hair is natural.

Thank you. I'll get in touch with her. Btw, Can I get regular cornrows with extensions for my wig. Like the type I can wear by itself without the wig.

Can anyone recommend protective styles? I've had braids in for the past 5 months. Like literally back to back and I realize that this is probably not good for my hair 'cause it needs to breathe and "recover" but due to my work environment and time, I don't have a week to let it chill. I was thinking of taking my braids out and getting a wig but I also hear that wigs aren't too good. Then I thought of getting a weave but I'm also scared for my front. It's beginning to break from all the braiding and pulling. Any ideas/recommendations?

Oh and if you are recommended a weave/wig, pls give deets about the kind of weave too cause I honestly don't know the first or last thing about weaves/wigs.

EducationRe: Lagos To Ban Unintelligent Students From Public Schools by Egbagirl(f): 7:02pm On Nov 13, 2013
infolekan: I don't want you to have a feeling you're unlucky cos I picked out your comment of all the hundreds before you and made it a template for my reply....
Yes, there's something like unintelligent and it's used for people who are not intelligent.
The op probably created the thread with mischief as his sole purpose.
Putting up a pass mark for a pupil is both right morally and educationally.....it stirs the student to read more.
The decadent in the educational sector is not a source of concern to many and it's when policies that will encourage the student to read more comes up that the so called retro progressive people now starts comparing Nigeria to China and the USA and even Ghana.

We all know Nigeria is still a long way off and while the development might not follow that of China or Korea......Lagos is the only state that things seems to be moving at least and the best people do with any progressive information is to compare it to the country with the best standard
Biko, tell them again.

AdannayaBella: @NappilyNigerian, I am seriously considering adding ACV to my hair care regimen but I don't know where to fit it in. Normally on my wash days, I pre poo, shampoo, deep condition then style. Where do I fit in the ACV rinse? Before shampooing or what?

Exactly what happened to me after I did the black tea rinse. Never went back to it. Which is why I want to try ACV, I heard the rinses reduces shedding which seems to be one of my problems now. I just hope it works or I will be mad.
Yea I guess everybody's hair is different so what works for A might not work for B. According to NN, she does the ACV after shampooing. Check the middle of the front page for her regimen
Car TalkRe: Your Speedometer: How Often Do You Check It? by Egbagirl(f): 5:36pm On Nov 13, 2013
Fhemmmy: Almost every minute to make sure i am not caught by Olopa
I know right? Gotta make sure you are within speed limit before you hear the sirens blaring behind you. It's annoying though.

On the highway, the best thing to do is cruise and that way you don't have to worry about the popo unless of course you decide to still go above the limit and keep looking out for the police as if you are a fugitive grin

Btw, I once tried ACV (diluted) and it changed my hair for worse. Scalp became and remains mad itchy even after a wash. I was pretty upset about and it's not because of lack of oil or moisture. I don't know if ACV works for everyone.
TV/MoviesRe: ROCK BOTTOM - A 6 Minute Movie By A Nairalander by Egbagirl(f): 3:34pm On Nov 13, 2013
For your first attempt though, I'll say well done. It wasn't bad but we need new story lines. This is the same old story nollywood churns out in 5 million movies. Let's see something different that we haven't seen before. Something that isn't typical. I only watched half of it and that's because I wanted to see Goodness's face again but otherwise, I could already tell the end from the beginning once I saw her put the baby down.
